pamlstano:Kindly keep your mouth shut about things you know little about, ok? Misinformation is evil. |
The way some of you are talking, it seems you aren't aware that the man was already on his way out and did not stand for election. He has already enjoyed for 8 years, of course he can be gracious in defeat. Why someone is calling him a 'loser' is beyond me. |
Still greedy, ambitious and scheming, i see. Little is left of the hard working Akunyili that generated all the hype just for doing the job she was paid to do. Years of incompetent politics and a shocking waste of taxpayers money in the retarded Rebranding scheme has soured our opinions of this woman. Conversely, years of wining and dining with her fellow crooks has driven out all decency and goodness in her and all we are left with is avarice and lies. Unfortunately, She will find a position in GEJ's government, one way or the other. As long as the NAFDAC horse can still be flogged, she'll remain an unpleasant part of our society. Smh. |
wesley80:In all the Ibori trials in London, Uduaghan's name features prominently as an accomplice and accessory to money laundering. Knowing that the man at the helm of power in Delta State is a crook and has been part of the crew robbing Delta blind for years, I make bold as to say that anyone who voted this man back to power must be a crook or must be willing to abide by crooks. It matters not whether Urhobos or anyone else has been ruling. Even a dog can rule for all i care as long as he does well by the state. Just get the best man for the job and forget about all these tribal and ethnic rubbish. |
All these imbecilic clods forwarding this hoax via BB need to start using their brains. Why is someone posting this rubbish on Nairaland? |
Odunnu:If you're a Christian, you'd know that God can actually relent. And He did it several times in the Bible too. At the end, It isn't about 'visions' or 'prophecies'. It's about change. Fixing Nigeria will do far more than what the Church in Nigeria has been able to do for years. Let's face it, most Nigerian christians don't give a damn about the poor and suffering in their midst. They and their pastors care far more about tithes and offerings than charity and helping the less privileged. Bringing sanity to Nigeria from the leadership point of view would improve more lives than ever before. I hope and pray we get more upright men of integrity to aspire for the top job. These are critical times for this country. Infant and maternal mortality is rising, educational standards are falling, crime in increasing, the youths are more corrupt than their fathers, Al Qaeda is slowly gaining a foothold in Nigeria, kidnapping is a clear and present danger, roads are terrible, Power is grossly inadequate etc. We need a fix for Nigeria and we need it fast. If you have any good men in your midst let them come out! |
Odunnu:Before I reply, pls don't take it as one of my 'usual attacks' on you (as u call them) ![]() Bakare paired up with Buhari because of all the candidates, he had the best credentials in terms of personal integrity. If your ideology and your opinion is that Nigeria's problems are largely due to corruption, Buhari would have always been the best choice. I can't see how anyone can claim Bakare has lost his 'integrity'. If anything, his refusal to sign a document of deceit prepared by the ACN in a secret meeting is clear evidence that his principles of doing the right thing are still very much intact. Saying his attempt to achieve a lofty position (which he would have used to influence more people to good than he can already do) is 'ungodly ambition' is akin to calling many of the Nigerian pentecostal pastors ungodly for their attempts to build large churches and purchase broadcasting stations. |
adros84:How many of your precious Pastors talk about salvation and repentance these days? 80% of them restrict themselves to sowing seeds, tithe paying and offerings. Discussing the Government is far better in terms of service to the people.
In that position,l never knew he was still interested in politics, and that might be his undoing, as what’s happening to him now might be as a result of his disobedience to God service. Recently, the media carried a bad news that his building was set ablaze, which never happened during his missionary journey, when he was a full time servant of God.May be that’s a sign that God isn’t happy with him. And if he insist on continuing with his political ambition, who knows the next havoc to befall him.
I swear, this is utterly brainless. |
Yet people want to kiss Fashola's arse about projects he is implementing?
What Fashola is doing does not influence my life in any meaningful way. I am merely speaking out against lies and misinformation. If anyone can take a look at the completed monorail renders and then insist that the present status as depicted in the OP is anywhere near completion, that person needs to visit an optometrist. |
Odunnu:The elections happened on Saturday, there were isolated pockets of violence against corps members since Sunday and yet the GEJ Government and the NYSC DG did nothing to ensure the lives and properties of the Corps members. They were killed on Monday! Only in Nigeria that people will be content to act as sheep instead of turning their ire against the people who actually are supposed to protect them. |
Is everyone blind? Take a look at those pictures in the OP. Which one of those indicates 'nearly completed' to you? Amaechi is doing ok, we do not need praise singers in Rivers State. Let him do his work without this undue butt kissing. |
This is not an intelligent solution, sorry to say. Apart from disenfranchising millions of voters with no access to phones, the individual registration numbers are open to too many eyes. Possibility of rigging is very high. Also, why would anyone want to transfer the determination of your next President to foreign entities like Etisalat and MTN? This sort of idea may work for 'Idols West Africa' or 'Big brother' but the stakes are MUCH higher for Presidential and Gubernatorial elections. |
rexel99:Still the same tired and imbecilic argument you people throw out. If you had lost a friend of relative in Jos this january, would you have been blaming Buhari? If your loved one was killed during the Reinhard Bonnke/Akaluka/Miss World/Danish cartoon riots, would you have blamed CPC? There's a Government to which most of us pay taxes to. In return, they are charged with ensuring the safety of their citizens, with none having more responsibility than the Commander in chief of the armed forces, and the man who the Police IGP and the SSS heads report to. If ordinary forumites claim that Buhari's speeches were 'inciting', shouldn't the SSS, Police and army have had similar concerns and should have been on ground to curtail any violence? After 9/11, Americans turned to their President, the FBI and CIA for answers and explanations on how that tragedy was allowed to happen. Since then, these agencies have become more proactive. It's only in Nigeria where majority of the people are complacent SHEEP that we are all content with our Government being reactive, mere months after hundreds were slaughtered in Jos in the past few months. |
Brilliant reply! It's about time someone took on these 'Men of God' who stand idly by, grinning happily while those poor kids were being maimed by their ilk in Akwa Ibom. Oritsejafor has not called for Helen Ukpabio's arrest and prosecution, he is busy taking aim at Buhari. Rubbish. |
I see, so the gas figure is the amount for the Anambra basin, I guess. But the 80 million barrels of oil is in OPL 917 (unless I'm misreading.) Thanks for the correction. Here is a picture of the Anambra basin btw, for others (like me) who weren't aware of the difference: http://www.summitoilinternational.com/images/map1.gif
Thanks for that pic. No you aren't misreading. OPL 917 is the one supposedly containing 80 million barrels. Keep in mind that 80 million isn't really massive, though. It's decent sha. |
frosbel:Your current Government has not been able to quell the Boko Haram menace yet and all you can do is thank God? |
Rossikk:Where did you get the '500' figure from? And why are you trolls so desperate to convince everyone that the statement 'wild wild north' from a PASTOR of all people was capable of sending hundreds of illiterate youths on a killing spree? Are you not aware of the threatening text messages that had started making the rounds just after GEJ defeated Atiku in the primaries. Was that Buhari and bakare at work too? If your stated goal is to tackle people at the root cause of the deaths of innocent people, why have you been staunch in your support of GEJ, the man who had command of the entire army when JTF troops massacred 150 villages in Ayakoromo village last year? |
Tippy Top:Most sensible people know that the result from the South South and South East was illegally inflated in favour of the PDP. Most intelligent people know that there's no way in hell that 84% of registered voters in imo State could have turned up to vote. Frankly, even a total turnout of 60% is not believable. While I still think GEJ would have won, it doesn't mean we have to turn a blind eye to rigging. Jega's system is a great improvement over the previous one, but it isn't rig-proof. |
sleekmike:That what they tell you sheep in Church these days? |
Why the barrage of unnecessary pessimistic attitude here concerning this development? @ Omo_Tier1 you should really mind your language or do I sense something more sinister here? Who and who are been fooled? We're all adults here. Just because we decided to have hope doesn't mean we're been fooled. If we all never had any hope towards something or anything in this world then we're as good as non-existent. The bottom line is this; there has been some kind of geological work already carried out in that area. One day, and I mean within this GEJ government, exploitation of oil and gas around that area would commence. The only roadblock to this project over the years is simply down to political games in Abuja. We should be more optimistic about life and not always pessimistic by default.
Any intelligent being must use the past history as a basis for predicting the future. With that in mind, it is difficult to be optimistic about may things in Nigeria these days. Prof Egbogah was addressing the state Governor, not an almajiri off the streets. At such a meeting, specific details, roadmaps, timelines and plans could have been shared. Talking about 'soon' is not specific or binding enough. In short, there is little room or reason to be optimistic about this. |
5 triillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas, 80 million barrels of oil: http://www.afren.com/operations/nigeria/opl_917/ That is pretty solid. Nigeria's gas reserves are 187 tcf proven, and supposedly up to 600 tcf (http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/National/5418530-147/story.csp). Good stuff.
The afren link makes it clear that those figures are thought to be the volumes in place in the Anambra basin. Anambra basin transcends Anambra state. |
Oritsejafor is a dolt if he really did say that. I see people burning with indignation about the violence in the North. Where was CAN and Oritsejafor when innocent children were being killed and maimed in Akwa Ibom over baseless allegations of witchcraft from his fellow PFN members like Helen Ukpabio? The man was too busy quaffing tithe money to do anything about the carnage. And yes, i am a Christian. People like Ayo Oritsejafor should be hiding their heads in shame. |
annek35:50K premium over the Wifi version for the 3G and you call it 'reasonable'?! |
Yes. At the time of making the offer, it was a somewhat fair offer. |
Crude Oil:Then i pity you for being too trusting. For the past couple of days, people have been circulating images from long past accidents or crises and trying to pass them off as victims of this recent crisis. The main aim of ghouls like the OP is usually to whip up sentiment against a particular target. |
Odunnu:The point is, even the OP is trivializing human life by posting lies and rumors as fact. |
I have no idea what @Ezeuche's point is. The OP has been called out for sensationally inflating the number of deceased Corps members just to create drama. What kind of loser would swallow what the OP posted without the benefit of any verifiable and trusted source? As far as I see, Rhino.dm is rightly skeptical of the number of NYSC casualties. Anyone with a functional brain should be. So what are you arguing about? |
jamalah:This post irrevocably marks you as a buffoon. He was hired to reform the banking industry not Islamic marriages. Is that fact too difficult to get through your thick skull? How does having 4 wives mark one as 'primitive', 'autocratic' or 'feudal'? |
To all the Sanusi haters http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/akingbola-offers-refund-n225-billion Erastus Akingbola offers to refund back 2.25 billion Naira. See how Sanusi has taken on the crooks? |
http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/akingbola-offers-refund-n225-billion Where are all those Nairalanders that were defending this thief tooth and nail last year? Where is naijaking1 et al? Does an innocent man offer to hand over billions of Naira? I implore the EFCC, FG, CBN and all other concerned parties to reject any plan that will allow this thief escape a lengthy jail term. It's time we exposed all these crooked pastors in Nigeria. My heart goes out to all his former employees who must be seriously traumatised to find that the same man who led them in morning prayers in the office was a heartless crook in disguise. |
Senility strikes in strange ways indeed! Last I checked, the 'I' in INEC stands for 'Independent'. So INEC is supposed to proscribe a party because they lost abi? Omo Omoruyi has been entertaining us for a while with his imbecilic comments to the press. This is no different. |
dr stone:What does this topic have to do with 'mass killing' in the North? |
