So they asked GEJ about the rot in our tertiary educational institutions and all he could say was that he would build more Hostels. Yet some zombies are celebrating here. It's true what they say; Nigerians deserve their leaders. |
chindi: Pharoh:We had 12 years of an ultra-corrupt PDP in charge. Our oil wealth largely went down the gullets of these insatiable crooks who now brazenly try to cling to power. But it isn't just the leaders. They are helped by short-sighted, masochistic citizens who would rather continue to stew in hot Okro soup than free themselves of tyranny. I hope this answer helps. |
Gbawe:Man, what the heck is wrong with you? How is the OP a 'campaign of calumny'? Every single word written there is the truth. Ribadu's statement exonerating Bode George is everywere on the internet and his speech claiming some credit for Bode George's eventual conviction is still fresh in our minds. His statements for and against IBB are known. The Dame Patience Jonathan issue is known. So why gripe about 'campaign of calumny'? I wonder what it is about Politics that makes decent men* lie? *Yes, i do consider you a decent, intelligent fellow. This is why your comment surprises me! |
ugoani:From your profile, you're 33 years old and you're a father and still at this age you're this dull? ![]() |
honsule:Drifta will use standard DVB-H. Why do you think there will have to be a new network roll-out to use it? It'll work in every city where the standard DVB-H Mobile DSTV was working before. And i'm pretty sure that was in more than 4 cities. |
Adelaide2:Look at this muppet! Your candidate GEJ goes around promising Northerners 'juicy positions' in his cabinet. He's made a pledge to step aside in 2015 for a Northerner. His godfather (Obasanjo) even hinted to all and sundry in the finale of his campaign that power will revert back to the North. So what you're really jubilating about now is another 12 years of PDP misrule. 4 years for GEJ, then Sambo gets another 8 years (He's a northerner so it shouldn't be an uphill task like what Jonathan faces). You clowns aren't weakening the north, you're appeasing them temporarily and strengthening them for the long run while simultaneously voting in the most corrupt party in Africa. The smart people will vote for change. We'll use Buhari to sweep these PDP rascals away. Join us now or be prepared to shamefully confess to your children how you helped to sabotage Nigeria's future. |
Olisa Agbakoba is just a slowpoke, sorry to say. His conduct was utterly shameful for a former NBA chairman. Repeated interruptions, borderline inane questions, muttering audibly that some candidates 'are not serious'. |
lekyar:Don't you just LOVE that feeling of powerlessness? The Doctors have their agreement all signed and sealed whether you selfish people like it or not. The first duty of the Doctor is to cater for his family, why must he be the sacrificial lamb for you lazy lot, chained to your wants and needs and doomed to suffer in silence? People like you are the lazy ones. What effort did you make to confront your state government over the strike? Now that the agreement has been reached, has Lagos state scattered? Will things not move on as if nothing happened? You have been rendered powerless by your leaders, why complain when the doctors do that to you too? At least unlike the balding, pot-bellied politicians you people worship and adore, these doctors deserve their wages, every penny of it! Whiners like you make me sick. The fact that you can belittle the arduous work put into becoming a doctor shows you up as someone who cannot be reasoned with. Babbling about calculus yet you apply elementary statistics in the most addle-brained manner possible. |
There is no need to drag this issue out. GEJ took pains to give Nigerians the impression that he personally manages his facebook page, discussing directly with his 'friends'. Now Pharoh says it's a lie. GEJ claimed in his book that the students had been contacted and brought on board. That has now been proven false. I don't see what the big deal is anyway. We all know GEJ stretches the truth to achieve his aims. This case is no more shocking than some of the other untruths we've been fed for a while now. Also, the technology in question is of little practical use in Nigeria anyway. Finally, I'm extremely annoyed that Pharoh constantly misspells the word 'aides' as 'aids'. Dude, this is kinda shameful. |
efisher:With the PDP, the negatives far outweigh any positive points. A vote for GEJ is a vote for the same crushing corruption and lawlessness that has plagued Nigeria for years. it's easy to know people who have no kids (or those who have no care for Nigeria's future). |
lekyar:First impressions with ONE doctor. Secondly, you have no idea what the doctor was doing for the 6 hours you were waiting. Was he sitting in front of you, cleaning his nails? Did you see him playing video games that you accuse him of laziness? As someone earlier said, applying your personal opinion of one doctor to the thousands of state doctors in Lagos is really illogical. |
lekyar:Question: Have you ever sat down in a Lagos State hospital to observe the doctors at work? No? So why call them 'loafers'? |
Intelligent answers, but rather untrue. 1. the number of people into crime and fraud is not 'very very minute' as some would have us believe 2. Nigerians (especially lagosians!) are not as eager to aid complete strangers as she paints. In fact, the average southerner will happily mind his own business. Kudos to her though for painting her country in a good light. Sometimes it's good to massage the truth somewhat ![]() PS: I am fully expecting to get flamed for this. ![]() |
I have the Drifta. It doesn't have a SIM card slot and requires activation by MNET SA (or by extension, Vodacom) Tried it with the iPhone/iPad app. It doesn't work in Nigeria. Bottom line: Don't buy this until it is officially supported in Nigeria. |
otokx:They have a signed agreement from the Lagos state Government. They WILL go on strike if these agreements are not kept. The real question is, do you lagosians have the balls to tackle your government if they fail to live up to their words? Mark my words, the answer is NO. You will all keep saying "Eko o Ni baje o!" until the bitter end. Naturally, you'll also blame the doctors. |
eros:Cyber threats aside, you fail to make any intelligent contribution to the issue at hand. You people parrot the same thing "There must be other ways". Which other ways? Why have none of you been able to come up with any reasonable alternatives? As it stands, Industrial action is the only way to force your employers to take welfare issues seriously. People keep talking about 'alternative methods'. it's talk like this that led to Primary school teachers in one of the South West state to declare 3 weeks of Prayers and fasting. At the end of the day, nothing improved. eros:You call this 'objective reasoning'? Ask yourself first if you want your child's doctor to be poorly motivated and throughly dispirited. Ask yourself if you are comfortable with having your doctor drive 2 hours to work every day to come to work simply because he cannot afford rent close to the hospital. The party to blame for all this issue is the Lagos State Government AND the people of Lagos state. It is now you people know that Doctors are critical. They announced a warning strike and you people did nothing. They went on strike and still nobody did anything. These same doctors went on strike late last year and we had these same complaints of deaths and suffering. One would have thought that Lagosians would take to the streets to demand their leaders stick to the agreement they failed to honor but none of you did! Lagos state is the most populated state in Nigeria. The doctors there are overworked by any standard. To top it up, the Government has implemented several free medical schemes which effectively increases the number of patients attended to by doctors. Any reasonable person will agree that when taking a decision, you consider all factors involved. it is immoral and unjust to take a path of action that will significantly increase the workload of workers without a commensurate improvement in their welfare. Did any of you people care then? No! This is how you whiners helped destroy our educational system by refusing to support ASUU when they embarked on strikes to improve their welfare package. Now none of the bright brains want to lecture anymore due to the low starting remuneration. Who will suffer this in the long run, is it not our children? |

eros:Well here I am to justify the actions of the doctors. The strike only started when the Government failed to live up to their promises made last year. Moronic zombies like yourself will not turn the blame on the Government, instead you want to put blame on the fellow who needs more money to meet up with his living expenses. Money that is commensurate with the work he puts in. |
@ otumfour Those two tablets willl really give ipad2 a run for its money, its thinner and and d pricing is also less, $30 cheaper https://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/im05oM-625x468.jpg Someone is finally noticing the competition
Nope, they won't.These Tablets will still struggle to sell a tenth of iPad 2's sales. That's the harsh reality. Kudos to Samsung for this, though. A june release date is a significant disadvantage. |
Bensonite:I doubt anyone can mistake you for one of the 'sound minds'. By all means, stop contributing to Nairaland if you wish. Judging by your 6 Inane posts to date, your 'contributions' will not be missed. pro01:What if its taxpayers' money being handed out? Yes, she's the first lady, which (in the Nigerian context) means that she has to have an expensive project that wil consume taxpayers money with little visible benefit. |
^^ You may be right. No argument. But to say none of the 19 governors and numerous government officials under Buhari didnt enrich themselves illegally leaves a sour taste in the mouth - the basis of the thread was, how did Buhari deal with them before the Buhari apologists hijacked it and turned it into something else. If he dealt with them, fine, but to say nobody was corrupt under Buhari leaves a sour taste in the mouth. When people call Jonathan a thief without no verifiable facts - nobody shouts, but when you say otherwise, everyone shouts. What a parity.
In the same vein, here's a question: What was GEJ doing when his boss Alams was stealing N50 billion? If he didn't notice the gulf between money accrued to the state and expenditures, he's incompetent and clueless. If he noticed and didn't do anything, So please answer. |
Sometime ago, we harried Sony Corporation for a video game commercial that was offensive to Nigerians. So are we saying it is save for a public own entity to condone offensive messages about government of Nigeria, while private entity aren't allowed? Let's eschew double standard and respect the office of the president, especially as we want our candidate to occupy it. Fair play people, fair play!
So in the same vein, whenever we see any GEJ campaign about 'Uniting Nigeria' we should be offended because he is insinuating that Nigerians are not united abi? |
noblezone:I hate it when you people come here to lie to us. Is it not the same GEJ that moves around flanked by people like Anenih and Bode George? Is it not the same GEJ that sent a delegation to welcome Bode George? Is it not the same GEJ that handed over national awards to undeserving Nigerians like Patricia Etteh? Is it not the same GEJ that has flooded Aso Rock with special assistants funded by Taxpayers money? Isn't it the same GEJ that scored people like Alao Akala and Gbenga Daniel high? Feel free to join the ranks of the retrogressives and vote for PDP in April. But don't come here to tell these easily dispelled lies. |
mens dept:And it isn't about ridding Nigeria of the incumbent PDP who have dragged Nigeria to near ruin? |
matoyeh:Are you kidding me? The PDP and GEJ are bound together with superglue. A vote for PDP is a vote for no progress. |
As someone said on Twitter: "Lagos to Ibadan 7.5 hours via train after spending N114 billion and people are praising the PDP? Nigeria is in trouble". These people should come clean and confess that their Pastor told them to vote GEJ since he has 'divine mandate' instead of coming here to insult our intelligence by claiming the man is doing wonders. |
Jehu:You ARE a 5 year old dolt. There are no foreign troops on ground in Libya. The United Nations dropped the ball in Rwanda. In Sierra Leone and Liberia the UN provided material support to ECOMOG/Nigeria. In Ivory Coast, the UN has thrown its full support for any millitary action by ECOMOG to oust Gbagbo. The UN mission in Libya is supported by a substantive UN resolution. If the African Union and Arab League had the capability and the willigness (the testicles, if you will) to protect the Libyan people from their mad dictator, US and NATO planes would not be flying over Libya. Instead of whining here, go and ask GEJ why his ECOMOG has been dilly-dallying over Ivory Coast. |
Pharoh:I never knew the people watching the NN24 debate were mexicans. Thanks for the clarification. Pharoh:They'd prefer an independent debate. No guarantee that BON will not send the questions in advance to GEJ. |
Kudos to the GEJ team. Revitalising the rail transport is one of the biggest achievement of his just over one year administration as substantial president of Nigeria. Along with his power sector reform, gas master plan, and perhaps on-coming signing of FOI and PIB bills as laws. Nigeria under President GEJ is destined for greater height. Pride is finally coming back to the battered Nigerians. With all his imperfections GEJ is a good administrator, he has done well. He deserve our support!
Since you clearly rely on hyperbole to praise GEJ (and since you aren't constrained by something as trivial as the truth), let me give you some more things to attribute to GEJ 1. Good weather 2. Absence of Tsunami and Earthquakes (Under GEJ's leadership Nigeria has not recorded any earthquake or tsunami. up GEJ) 3. Good Nigerian music 4. No air disaster in Nigeria 5. Appointment of a Nigerian as Super Eagles coach ![]() 6. Brought Facebook and Twitter to Nigerians. 7. Made MTN drop BIS to 3k monthly. Up GEJ!!! |
Jen33:Please tell me this is a joke!! |
