Jakumo:
Can't we at least permit Ayatollah Buggari Bin-Laden to stone just one person to death, as punishment for the Ayatollah's resounding electoral loss on April 16 2011 ?

Ok then, if a stoning to death is out of the question, can Buggari Bin-Laden at least be presented with a commemorative sword, and put before a petty thief in need of instant justice by amputation ?  Either of these two humane options would go a long way to pacifying lifetime LOSER Ayatollah Buggari in this, his darkest hour yet.
Dude, enough already!
Your 'Ayatollah Buggari' shtick is getting rather tiresome these days. To be honest, i'd thought someone as supremely intelligent as yourself would stay away from this sort of ethnic bias. It sure as hell can't be religious bias because to the best of my knowledge, you're an atheist.
No matter. I haven't seen any justification for these your constant sharia-themed accusations anyway.

I hate how you goons can rubbish this man's name just because of an Election.
Everyone who wants to vote has made up his/her mind on who they are voting for. The personal attacks need to stop now. No matter the mistakes of the past (and no matter your position towards his candidacy) Buhari strongly seems like someone who want to do his best to fix Nigeria. Even if he fails at this hurdle, I will always remember him positively as a true patriot who in his own way tried to redeem Nigeria and himself.

We were given brains for a reason. Someone beat her up, held her down and attempted to smother her and she's still talking about love?

I strongly feel she has not been beaten enough, let the man continue to panel beat her day and night until she has some sense in her thick skull. I don't know why you people are humoring this fellow. There are hundreds of thousands of kids and babies who need your genuine attention and concern in Nigeria instead of this numbskull.

Delafruita:
I wonder why any right thinking african would applaud the forceful removal from office of a sitting president.a lot of people have been so brainwashed by the foreign press that they donot even realise gbagbo has a legitimate claiom to the presidency.its true the eloctoral commision declared ouattara the winner, but the constituitional council which is empowered by ivorien constituition to look into election results found good reason to nullify some results credited to ouattara and after a recount, declared gbagbo winner.now that is perfectly in order according to ivorien constituition but then monkey-faced ban ki moon begins to talk bladderdash, sarkozy screams blue murder, ecowas disowns gbagbo and the next thing we know, situation critical.the ivorien crisis made me remember bush vs gore in 1999,gore was in the lead up till the florida ballot count was manipulated in favour of bush.gore asked for a recount which there was time for but the supreme court which had four judges who were appointed by the older bush voted against the continuation of the recount.it was clear gore won and even despite the ruling favouring bush, gore still won the popular vote by over 500,000 votes but lost at the electotal college.the UN didnt scream then, chirac stayed mute,in short nothing happened but in this ivoien case, which is very similar to the bush case, they all rushed in to hound him out.why didnt they chase out ahmajinedad in iran,or chavez in venezuela, why have they continually said removing ghadaffi is not on their priority list?because they know it will backfire.but we west africans were quick to brand gbagbo an outcast.this is hypocrisy.we are sending a delegation of african leaders to negotiate with ghadaffi, the OIC is insisting ghadaffi is not to be outsted but when sarkozy's dogs manhandle gbagbo,we applaud.if na naija that kain thing happen,we go gree?
The 'constitutional council' is staffed with heavily compromised Gbagbo cronies. What else did you expect them to do but to legitimize Gbagbo's stolen mandate?
Gbagbo came to power on the back of a popular revolt, it's only fitting he gets ousted by a popular revolt.
The man's tenure should have ended since 2005, he has been securing extensions to allow him pacify and re-integrate the unruly north. If the baboon failed to unify his country, whose fault is it?

All these sit-tight African leaders should be cast down and thrown to the dogs.

Politics › Re: Free And Fair Elections, Gej Is Keeping His Promise by texazzpete(m): 11:12am On Apr 10, 2011
efisher:
The fact that there were challenges doesn't mean he does not deserve commendation. GEJ cannot be crucified for the acts of criminals who are out to cause trouble. The security agents were able to control these criminals to a large extent. As "perfect" as USA is, there are still murders and all manner of crime. As "perfect" as USA is, terrorists were still able to crash several planes into the WTC and Pentagon!!!

Those bomb blasts were unfortunate and it affects us all. We cannot dump all the blame on GEJ. Those criminals are also Nigerians. The military and police were given the full authority to act. A shoot-at-sight order was also given. What better show of commitment than that? There were many other attempts that were foiled. It is a huge challenge and we have to see it as our problem and not GEJ's problem.

If a thief breaks into a house to rob, will you blame the father of the house? Of course not. The father of the house was also robbed.

Bottomline is, he has proven that he is not the "promise-and-fail" type that many mischievous people have branded him as. Of course he has not scored 100% but deep down we all know the conduct of yesterday's election was far better than the previous ones. Let's not allow partisanship blind us from acknowledging good things.

Visit GEJ's facebook page and hear from other real Nigerians. More people agree that indeed there was improved transparency in the process. Some others including very obvious haters have also gone the way of insulting the man. See the comments on his facebook page:

Please try and apply logic to your arguments. In the robbery analogy, if the house is repeatedly robbed without elaborate and effective security measures being put in place, is it not the father you will blame?
Bush, the CIA, FBI and Homeland security all chopped some blame for 9/11. If an attack of that scale happens again, of course the blame hammer will descend heavily on Obama. You think say na Bush cause the economic meltdown? Why then did the Americans punish the republicans?

If those analogies are too much of a stretch for you, here's an easy one: Why do coaches and fans blame the refs for poor penalty kick decisions even when we all know that the linesmen are often better placed to make the call?

The buck stops at the head of the table. Please learn to make your president work for his money or one day you may regret this.
Politics › Re: 'All Nigerians Are Corrupt', Says Oprah Winfrey by texazzpete(m): 10:13am On Apr 10, 2011
I have no idea why you fools dragged up this old topic but your responses say a lot about your intellect.

FACT: Oprah NEVER made this statement. The Punch NEVER carried this story officially. The link in the OP was from a user submitted article on the Punch in which a punch reader claimed he heard Oprah make that statement. It's been proven that she never used those words.

Abeg make una let this topic die down. it is an embarrassing testament to ease with which Nigerians give themselves to knee-jerk reactions without even trying to do some rational thinking.

Even if GEJ converts Nigeria into USA overnight, some folks will still not acknowledge his achievements. That is the true definition of HATERS!!!

Let's wait for the results and then we can score him properly. I expect even the haters to be honest enough at that time.
Read Reuben Abati's piece today and see if this was really that 'free and fair' in totality. We had murders, kidnapping, instances of stolen and forged ballot papers, bombs etc.
Nigerians really do have such low expectations!

Only a dolt will base his decision on who to vote over this election. After failing on education policy, failing on security and many other shortcomings, i've long since decided that GEJ is NOT the right man.

This greedy opportunist has come again with her lies.
After wasting Taxpayers' money with her stupid and harebrained 'Rebranding' project (according to her, the highlight of this project that gulped hundreds of millions of naira was forcing Sony to apologize to Nigeria and banning the District 9 movie) what does she want again in the Senate?

She still has unanswered questions about why after spending 7 billion Naira to buy HD broadcasting equipment, NTA's sports and events coverage is still as grainy and low-res as it was in 2001.

As Kobojunkie says, we haven't forgotten her lies during the Ekiti election re-run. Sorry lady, you can't coast forever on NAFDAC.

THE BOMBING IN NIGER DELTA HAD A PURPOSE, TO FORCE THE GOVT TO PROVIDE A PERCENTAGE OF THE OIL PROCEEDS TO DEVELOP THE AREA WHERE THE OIL WAS EXTRACTED FROM.

THE BOMBING IN INEC OFFICE , KILLING INNOCENT YOUTH COPPERS, WHAT IS THE AIM ?  IT IS ONLY IN PLACES LIKE IRAQ THAT PEOPLE CARRY BOMB AND DESTROY THE LIFE OF INNOCENT CITIZENS FOR NO CAUSE.

You brainless ethnic bigot! So the people killed by MEND in the Niger Delta weren't innocent abi? The civillians and millitary personnel slaughtered during MEND's atlas cove attack, were they any less innocent that the Corps members killed? The 9 policemen Soboma George's people blew up in their police station, what crime were they guilty of? The 7 people slain on New Year's eve 2009 by Ateke Tom's fighters, were they not innocent too?

Why are you not complaining about the Niger Delta then?

from the begining, GEJ encouraged people to participate by promising and reminding them that there vote will count. in OBJs time, we knew it will be rigged from his statements like ''it is a do or die affair''.

Lets leave sentiments aside, GEJ cares about the people and he has shown it over and over.
Some say he is weak. what has all the strong men achieved for us so far? strong men like IBB, OBJ, BUHARI, ABACHA. nothing at all.

speaking of Buhari, It annoys me so much when people talk about buhari like he is a saint.

this is a man who staged a coup against an elected government and set the stage for people like IBB and Abacha to come in. He even played a major part in the abacha Government.

For the first time, we have a leader who listens and responds promptly.

On the issue of corruption, some say he cannot fight it. well, if i were him, i will wait till i win the election. i will use all those so called corrupt people during my campaign. these people can mobilise and are more experienced in the electoral process.
After i win, i start cutting ties  and jailing them. i believe that is his plan.

Some say Buhari, will fight corruption,  i doubt it. another new batch of thieves will come in and eat. he will start like OBJ did, then return to status quo shortly after.

Vote wisely, dont vote a strong man, vote a listening man.
Can't you empty barrels tell us the merits of GEJ without viciously attacking his opponents?

If GEJ is to receive the benefit of anything that happens in Nigeria, why are you not blaming him for the insecurity in places like Jos?

Your ignorance is appalling to say the least.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Navy
The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. The U.S. Navy is the largest in the world; its battle fleet tonnage is greater than that of the next 13 largest navies combined.[4] The U.S. Navy also has the world's largest carrier fleet, with 11 in service, one under construction (two planned), and one in reserve. The service had 328,516 personnel on active duty and 101,689 in the Navy Reserve in January 2011. It operates 286 ships in active service and more than 3,700 aircraft.[2]

Did i really need to paste this excerpt above? Shouldn't everyone with a brain know that the US navy has been the world's largest since World War 2?

With a name like 'Tier1' (which i thought was a reference to Special Forces 'operators') i expected you to know much better about millitary systems.

well i think the reason the attrix dint sell that much is cos of the not so good reviews especially about the webtop and docks which where one of the main selling points.

lg optimux 2x is actually getting sold out compared to the attrix prabably cos the optimus had better reviews
Webtop and the dock were optional components that did nothing to detract from the overall appeal of the standalone phone. The Atrix scored consistently high reviews.

Android sales can be baffling sometimes. Despite the CES and MWC hype, analysts say the Xoom tablet may have sold just 100k units compared to the nearly 3 million iPad 2s sold already.
