If you have a thing for phones, you wouldn't have bought a crappy Torch when RIM is gearing up to announce vastly improved phone models next month, with release dates in June/July.
NYSC › Re: Petition To Withdraw Youth Corpers From Violent Northern Nigerian States. by texazzpete(m): 10:49pm On Apr 22, 2011
This is why I insist that Nigerians are just sheep.
Of the hundreds of people killed in the North in different crises, only a handful are even NYSC members. Lots of innocent men, women and children have been hacked apart by raging mobs. Instead of you people to start a petition DEMANDING that your president take decisive action to curb these evil attacks, you're talking only about corps members.

We need a long term solution for these rampaging youths not all these attempts to paper over all cracks.

PapaBrowne:
Buhari called for "Lynching" and Bakare talked about a "wild wild north".
So how did a Southern Christian talking about 'wild wild north' lead to angry illiterate Northern MUSLIMS in the streets?

PapaBrowne:
I also have a video where Bakare talked about and encourages the idea of  his supporters going to the polling units with matches and a bottle of Kerosine, obviously to burn down INEC officials(Youth Corpers) suspected of rigging. In all these, they forgot to explain to their Blood Hungry, violent minded, intolerant, uneducated lowlifes what exactly is the meaning of rigging.
Please post the video here or we'll treat the bolded as mere falsehood. A Google search of 'Bakare Kerosene matches' yields your own post as the top ranked answer which would never have been the case if Bakare made such an incendiary (forgive the pun  grin) statement.

So provide that video or perhaps you'll be the one getting sued for defamation of character  grin

Beaf:
I believe this is the proper way to go, especially as the ICJ signalled interest two days ago. What we need to do is start up a social networking movement to gather evidence for submission to the ICJ. That network will also presure the ICJ for action and keep the matter burning in the Nigerian press.

Another thing such a movement can do is go out to actively aqcuire membership of the bereaved, those who lost businesses, wellbeing, were injured or traumatised. With that, carrying out a defining and Earthshaking class action will be straightforward and easy.

Nothing stops us from keeping both prongs of action going simultaneously. I hail PapaBrowne for his passion and starting our thought processes.
I remember seeing you jubilating here on nairaland when MEND attacked and slew NINE innocent people in Lagos in the Atlas Cove jetty bombing. Isn't it a tad hypocritical for you now to take this stand?
Politics › Re: I'm suing Buhari and Bakare for murder!! by texazzpete(m): 1:08pm On Apr 22, 2011
Wow, PapaBrowne usually displays much more intelligence than this.

Go ahead and Sue though. Last I checked, it was the federal govt that was supposed to guarantee the lives and properties of the innocent civillians in the north.

Not a bad idea at all but since we have a thread like this running where we can always input whatever knowledge there is available,it would just be an overkill. There is already a vast resource of Andriod forums for all and sundry on the Web (Not to talk of Manufacturer and model specific forums as well!) grin
My point exactly.
Anyway, happy to bury the hatchet.

@Na2day
you see why I kept saying that Nokia made the best move to switch to WP7? In the past few months we've had the Nexus S, Thunderbold, Optimus 2x, Atrix 4G and at least 4 more i can't remember. We have the HTC sensation on the way and the Galaxy S II on the horizon. New Droid models coming out too. At the end of the day, this competition for sales would have been too much for Nokia right now.
Politics › Re: Buhari Rejects Results In 22 States And Fct by texazzpete(m): 7:09pm On Apr 19, 2011
I voted in Rivers State and in my Polling Unit, out of nearly 5000 people registered only 1750 people turned up to vote. That is less than 50% and is fully consistent with reality. We all know many of those who registered did so as a result of government intimidation (The illegal No registration, no salary clause) and determination to sell their cards eventually. Also many people would have travelled or refused to turn up to vote.
I will take any turnout of greater than 70% with a pinch of salt. I'm sure turnouts of around 50 - 60% are much closer to reality.
Politics › Re: Buhari Laughing Thread by texazzpete(m): 10:10pm On Apr 17, 2011
What is the purpose of threads like this one?
You claim GEJ is for democracy yet you cannot stomach any opposing views on Nairaland?
At the end of the day, we will all continue our lives as before. I will still earn the same salary, I will still pay the same taxes. My entire support for Buhari would never had put one extra penny in my pocket. It was all geared towards one end: to bring about true change that will make Nigeria a good place for my daughter to grow up and flourish.

Now, GEJ has won. I still do not share your optimism. If he proves me wrong, SPLENDID. If he continues in the ways of the PDP pestilence, we will all be in this together.

There's no need for these immature posts, the verbal equivalent of sticking your tongue out at others.
londoner:
@Genius, I guess many people here counted chickens before they hatched. I suppose if Buhari was winning they would come here and do the same to you GEJ supporters
I don't know about you, but at 29 year of age i'm too old to go on a public forum to start clicking on smilies to laugh at my fellow Nigerians.
The overall objective is to bring about positive CHANGE in Nigeria. To that end, you are the one counting chickens before they are hatched. Why not wait until the 'change' manifests before crowing?
NYSC › Re: The Best Way To Reward INEC Corpers by texazzpete(m): 9:58pm On Apr 17, 2011
I don't know what the OP is smoking but it is this kind of knee-jerk largesse that has cost Nigeria dear in the past.
These corps members were PAID for the JOB they are doing. It ain't an unpaid task. Why should we reward people for just doing their jobs?

I support some sort of award for only those Corps members proven to have done about the calling of their jobs to make the process move. There will be a few isolated cases of standout corpers, those are the only ones we need to pencil down for rewards.

Corps members have been doling out Vitamin A and polio vaccines to babies for years now. I havent seen any of them being rewarded.

These same figure went into the Daily Times result projections here

So this marks the end of this chapter. This is a democracy and the will of the majority must be respected. While it is my personal belief that some of those results are somewhat suspect (Rivers state with 75+% voter turnout? PDP nearly matching CPC in Kaduna?) we have to respect the result.
Politics › Re: Buhari Alleges Rigging Of Election by texazzpete(m): 2:07pm On Apr 17, 2011
Buhari has already said he will not head to the courts this time around. Does that sound like a 'bad loser'? If he spots evidence of rigging should he not mention it? Is anyone here saying there was no rigging in this elections?

In 4 years time it will be your turn to defend the better candidate, perhaps someone like Gov Fashola. You will meet a new generation of young Nairalanders who will play the roles people like Odunnu and Beaf are playing now. And Nigeria will continue to stew in mediocrity.

It's still not 100% certain who will win this thing, but i'll assume GEJ will edge it. I'll remind you people of this day at regular milestones. We'll see.

From a PDP presidency? Are you on crack?
Just stop at 'Yay! We finally have our broda dia for the next 4 years' and don't even begin to dabble in these hilarious promises.

GEJ took out lots of promissory notes and IOUs to win this thing (if indeed he has won). Payback time will soon commence  grin

Sadly for their vocal Nairaland contingent, this election puts paid to any real relevance of the South East on the national level. Certainly they will not smell the presidency until 202X at the earliest.  sad

STFU. People voting Buhari in the South South were heckled seriously. A couple of ladies in my PU in purdah were booed and taunted.

Voting on religious basis is not restricted to the North. Shouldn't we also excoriate all those Pastors in the South telling their congregation that GEJ is the 'divine candidate'?

Loving the Android technology (software/hardware) but i still find it hard to differentiate between devices or products and what to look out for during a device upgrade,

The time is now to have a Nigerian Android Community, to share ideas and to take it a step further asking manfacturer's for updates for Nigerian usage, etc,  huh undecided
Why?

Perhaps a group of programmers to share tips and info in making Android apps could make sense, but why a group for 'ideas' on how to use a device?
What do you mean by 'updates for Nigerian usage'?

Scores of reporters gathered around Gen Buhari immediately after he cast his vote were stunned as the bespectacled candidate responded to their questions in HAUSA!
