Please in your opinion what is the best QWERTY Nokia phone to buy with a great camera as good as the 12megapix N8, or nearest to it? I presently use the E63 and i love the fact that it has a torch, but the camera sucks. The best phone i have ever used, torch and camera wise was the Sony Ericsson k770i. In summary i want a QWERTY Nokia, with a great camera and hopefully with a torch.
Wait for the E-Series version of the N8, i forget the name. E90 perhaps? It should hit January 2011 and has a QWERTY keyboard. |
lol @otumfour You forgot to mention OS iPhone 4: Runs latest iOS software (4.2) Samsung Galaxy S: Stuck on Android 2.1 for most users. Latest version 2.3 may not come anytime soon. Basically, Samsung controls your arze ![]() Build Quality iPhone 4: Premium build quality Samsung Galaxy S: Cheap, plasticky build Apps iPhone 4: Latest apps and games. Your bank, school or favorite newspaper most likely has an iPhone app. Samsung Galaxy S: Receives ports of iPhone apps many months after, if ever. Good luck finding an android app for the Economist magazine or CNN or Bank of America or Visa etc (you get the idea) Third party accessories iPhone 4: Compatible with thousands of docks, portable speakers, Car stereos (via USB) Samsung Galaxy S: Are you kidding me? You see how easy it is to put up these comparisons here? ![]() |
@na2day Have you ever tried using your MusicID app ? It hasnt worked for me, no matter how high the volume of the song was. Do you have any suggestions of a quicker application? Thanks.
Yes. Download SoundHound. I use the iPhone client and it's awesome. IDs all songs (naturally, Nigerian songs need not apply), you can even ID songs you hum or sing into the microphone. The Android client should have the same functionality, and it's probably the best of its kind. |
iphone games are not that better than andriod games execpt that of iphone 4 and yes iphone has restrictions lots and lots of restriction
1. There are more good games available for the 2008 iPhone 3G than on most Android phones 2. There are currently no games that area iPhone 4 only. The 2009 iPhone 3GS will run all those games easily. 3. These 'restrictions' are subjective. I barely feel any restrictions when using my iPhone. The thing about buying any tech device is that you weigh the pros and the cons. if the pros far outweigh the cons, then you go for it! krunch:lol, Wifi tethering has never been a 'basic function'. And why exactly would you list 'memory card' as a function? It's worth mentioning to the OP that asking him to get an 'Android' is highly misleading. Unlike the unified experience in iOS, your Android mileage will vary depending on the device you get. For users of HTC Magic, Hero etc, they are still stuck in the prehistoric Android 1.6 or 2.0 era (unless you root). However, modern Android phones are an excellent alternative to the iPhone. But FLEE, FLEE from the Sony Ericcson Xperia X10!!! |
ROSSIKE:Chauvinist! But seriously, that was uncalled for. |
rhymz:Perhaps because most of her die-hard supporters are blindly following her just because they belong to the same ethnic group? rhymz:I wonder if that's what IBB's aides told him after seeing all the negative comments on his facebook page? Actually though, it's up to some of us to stop her. She's vying for an elective position. rhymz:Facts? What facts? It's not a secret that she was totally useless as an Information minister, her expensive 'Rebranding' campaign was Dead on Arrival (something everyone could have told her). Her role in the Ekiti election drama took a huge chunk out of her credibility. I won't even mention how silly her speech against the use of 'naija' was. The same person that's telling the corrupt members of the FEC that they are her 'immediate constituency' is the one you expect us to admire? |
Boboribo:Apologies if i sound too belligerent. I've never bought into the hype around this woman. Fair point, you didn't bring up the 'round peg in a square hole' argument. But many others on Nairaland have. In fact, they never stay far away from Akunyili topics, and they get pretty virulent too ![]() I'll get called an Igbo Hater in a little while. Either that or i'll be accused of being Yoruba ![]() |
Boboribo:So you now accept you were wrong about her being the first to resign. Good. I hope you didn't spread this false statement elsewhere. Orubebe would resign now if he was going to contest for a position elsewhere. Gusau resigned to pursue his own political interests, does that make him a hero too? |
The page has vanished from SaharaReporters site. I hope this isn't another case of junk journalism at work? EDIT: My bad, it's still there. |
Eziachi:How are you sure? |
Boboribo:And she isn't contesting for the Senate out of greed? You people never cease to amaze me. Your excuse for her incompetence as an Information Minister was that she was a 'square peg in a round hole'. Is it now in the Senate where she will just be one voice in a gathering of thieves that she will be a 'round peg in a round hole'? I'm shocked you're 'surprised' that she resigned now. It appears you're not aware that the elections are set for mid next year. if not now, when would you have her pick the nomination form? next year march? If anything, she left it too long sef, there are people in APGA that have put in more sweat and energy for the same position she's vying for. |
I nominate aieromon ![]() |
sizzlers:If you actually think Missy85's comment is Akunyili's actual speech, you need a brain transplant ASAP! |
Boboribo:You've been really drinking the Akunyili kool-Aid, haven't you? While you're at it, why not also praise Akunyili for stopping global warming ![]() |
banom:Do you really believe what you posted? This takes the crown for the greatest hyperbole ever heard in Nigeria ![]() Missy85:Thank you! As i read her letter, i all but cringed! I only hope she had intended this letter only for the ears and eyes of the members of the FEC and not for the general public. And if this letter is the actual one she read, why the hell is she referring to the members of the FEC as her 'immediate constituency'? Shouldn't that be the good people of Anambra State? |
Pharoh:It's a very good indicator that it could be a failure, yes. Even my 5 year old niece could have told you that. Would it really hurt you to inject some realism into your thought processes sometimes? Pharoh:You forget the third element: Time. Internet penetration in Nigeria is still quite low. As i said before, If you had done your NYSC in any rural area, this point would not be so difficult for you to comprehend. Unfortunately, for you unimaginative fellows, when you think of potential JAMB candidates you probably imagine some well coiffured kids in Ikoyi and ikeja. But hundreds of thousands of others are there in remote villages in Nigeria. There are secondary schools in places with minimal electricity, with very little internet exposure etc. Even in 'urban' areas, fast and reliable internet connection can be a premium. Huge swathes of Nigeria is covered only by slow EDGE or GPRS cellular data and many others by the often unreliable CDMA/EVDO carriers. In other words, it's a logistics nightmare to expect to execute something of this complexity at such short notice. Pharoh:If i were given this project, i'd start with a small pilot scheme of a few thousand students to determine the feasibility of rolling out this plan on such a wide scale. I won't subscribe to your brainless and unfounded optimism. That's just stupid. See, JAMB is the ONLY exam that these kids can take to enter Universities in Nigeria (at least the Govt owned Unis). it only comes around ONCE a year, and it's too important to too many people to mess around with it. That's why i'd take time to properly study and understand the risks before messing with the existing formula. Pharoh:Actually its a desktop ![]() |
Pharoh:I have not seen anywhere else where an intelligent person will not take past performance into account when attempting to predict the future. |
Bill Clinton is 64 years old, with a grueling schedule. Cut him some slack. |
This is really bad Has anybody mentioned Yoruba here?
What do you think the OP was driving at when he put their names in bold font? I swear, these ethnic bigots are so childish! I wonder when they will finally grow up? |
It's not surprising that it's the people outside Nigeria here that are in support of this stupid move. Every year, more than 600,000 students take JAMB. A large part of this number comes from people living in areas that cannot be described as 'urban' by any stretch of the imagination. And believe it or not, internet penetration in Nigeria is still rather low. Rather than making supercilious statements from the comfort of an environment where everything works, think of the immense logistics challenges to make this happen. How do you ensure a good, stable connection for everyone who is going to write this exam? Perhaps if you people had actually done your NYSC In Nigeria and taught in a rural community like i did, you'd be more informed about the circumstances in which millions of Nigerians do their secondary education. |
alj harem1:Do we look like doctors? Get off your lazy behind and do some research for yourself. |
How much can i snag that ipad case for? |
Shame 1. South East governors who don't care that their state universities have been shut down for ages over ASUU strike. 2. Parents of the students of the Universities in the South East who will sit idly by while the callous Governors play pranks with their kids future. 3. Lagos State Government (including Fashola!) for treating the Doctors strike with levity! Seriously, how can you employ so few doctors for so many state-owned medical institutions, overwork them, underpay them and then try to incite the public against them! 4. IBB - the nerve of the man to even present himself as a candidate for election! 5. Adamu Ciroma - Look, it's only justice to let the Niger Delta have their turn after the north had been enjoying from the oil money for ages. Instead of doing the decent thing, this man's committee went all out to push forward a confirmed crook as their candidate! 6. Tunde Bakare and all card carrying Pastors of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria: For happily going about their daily business while some accursed Pastor members of the PFN were aiding and abetting the torture, maiming and killing of innocent children in the name of witchcraft. Fame 1. Sanusi (for reasons others have mentioned) 2. Rauf Aregbesola For perseverance in the quest for justice, which finally culminated in him being sworn in as Governor of his state |
Breaking Arsene Wenger's Myth For those who believe Arsenal team is made up of kids brought through their academy. The fight against Terror is a global battle, and it takes great co-ordination and commitment to stop people who will stop at nothing to kill and maim innocent men and women. If Mutallab had succeeded in blowing himself up, many Nigerians would have gone down in that plane. It's not an American thing. Assange releasing documents that points out strategic targets, releasing documents that can strain the relationships between partners in the fight against terror, what purpose does that serve? For example, why release a private, classified memo from a top US General who claims to be unimpressed with efforts by the British army in quelling Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan? Even if its true, what purpose would that serve but to alienate the remaining serving british servicemen who are fighting terror? What purpose is it to release documents and cables intensely critical of the Government in Afghanistan, especially when the allegations of corruption are most likely true? What positive benefit could alienating the US and the Afghan govt be to the fight against Al Qaeda? With an emerging China (which has a dubious history of human rights records, and a disdain for democracy) and with an increasingly hostile nuclear armed North Korea threatening all out war in the Korea Peninsula, what benefit is there in weakening the US alone? And these are just the tip of the iceberg. Assange has gone too far. That is my opinion. |
Omenani:God, i LOATHE idiots like you. We're trying to move forward, y'hear? |
dnt understand why there is no app for it yet. Or is there any special hardware requirement?
Requires DVB-H compatible handsets. I dunno why they didn't just go and get the Drifta mobile decoder thingy. That nokia 5330 is a thoroughly crappy phone. Not interested. |
superboi:And armed people should be trained not to mess with innocent civillians. In any sane society, if the cop had shot that customer, he'd have been charged with murder or at the very least, excessive use of force. he'd have to painstakingly demonstrate that he had reasonable certainty that the man was armed and that his life was at risk before opening fire. @Topic Doesn't surprise me, the JTF are well known for their barbarism. I can't see why people are trying to shift blame to Jonathan, though. The JTF commander should have the full responsibility. In fact, the only role Jonathan has to play is to ensure that their commander is punished/dismissed. |
gerona:Are you on crack? Ibori's loot is VAST! Much more than most other looters ever seen in Nigeria. Imagine you comparing the loot of a former Governor of an Oil rich state with that of mere ministers and senators. The corruption fight is a gradual one, and the incarceration of Ibori alone is meaningful progress. it's just a pity that Ibori's punishment is coming at the hands of foreigners, not the EFCC or any other anti-corruption organ of the Federal Government. |
