onegig: Exactly. What is the exit plan?
Be your own boss doing what? Driving the Car?
What is the Plan B? What happens if the small biz he wants to invest in doesn't yield anything. 91% of startups fail in their first year. Takes about 3 years for more than 60% to break even. How long would 1M naira sustain the biz in such scenario? Same 1 Million naira he is banking on buying a car from which means at least 70% is going to be for purchase of a car and 30% for the side business.
What is in for her? Should she wait for a man who cowers at the face of challenges and is comfortable settling for less?
Yes it is a trying time but let's flip the die. You have a girlfriend who is a lawyer. She loses her job and has some savings, comes home to tell you she is now into some small biz and selling Paraga and Jedi with a basin and wooden table at the motor park in the evenings.
Won't the OP question her and also ask why he would be with such a person?
Abeg OP, drop the number of the Girl. I have lots of friends who would appreciate a lady like that can see the future and galvanize them to do more. Simply a brilliant post! Well put. |

You've already surmised that it's 'working for your Good' when you neva even start work. |

Dantedasz: I don't think we need this back and forth. I subscribe to Dstv and I subscribe to Startimes. Dstv are rogues and they are ripping Nigerians off. I agree 100% but Startimes are far far worse. The only High definition programme is the German Bundesliga hence the very poor picture quality. The African movies on Startimes go back to the beginning of Nollywood and are on constant repeat. I hope the Nigerian government does something about Dstv monopoly but taking Startimes as an alternative is to take this country backwards. Startimes is an inferior model of Gotv. Startimes is definitely not the answer to the Dstv imbroglio and I say this with all sincerity. How are they ripping you off? Have you bothered to find out how much cable + sports packages cost in any sane environment ? Dollar dropped from N200 to N380 now and you expect DSTV package costs to still remain the same as it did in 2014. On what basis? |

Tolexandre: something is wrong with you... You can see why we are being ripped off because of your thinking. A market as large as Nigeria shouldn't even pay up to what we are paying relative to other country's population and theit subscribers There are fewer DSTV subscribers in Nigeria than South Africa yet we pay LOWER prices than South Africans. Stop looking at the massive population. Most Nigerians are dirt poor and can not afford DSTV. DSTV is a GREAT deal for sports and general content. The problem isn’t with DSTV. The problem is with our shitty currency and that most Nigerians are poor. |

Dstv can go to places with their outrageous full bouquet payments So people who can’t pay 10k for DSTV sub will now be able to afford fast, unlimited 10+ Mbps internet to watch football abi? Go check anywhere in the world. Sports packages are usually very pricey. It’s a near miracle how DSTV is able to get that robust bouquet, including sports, for a 12k a month sub. |

tesppidd: 1. 14 members on one side and 10 members on the other side. How is it possible for 14 out of 24 members to impeach the speaker and replace him. Does 14 make two-thirds of 24?
Those 14 law makers knew that once they allowed themselves to be sworn in, that's the end of everything.
The only way they thought they could pressure the governor to reconvene the house was by refusing to be sworn in.
Unfortunately it didn't work out because Obaskei exhibited the highest level of impunity and dictatorship by his action and got away with it because the man who's supposed to ensure party members are treated justly was slumbering in Aso Rock.
The biggest scandal of this Obaseki/Oshiomole beef is the commando-style election of speaker by 9 out of 24 members. And of course people who hate this administration and hate Oshiomole have been clapping for Obaseki.
I wonder what people would have said if Buhari did what Obaseki did at the senate.
Hmm.
Dictatorship, Auticracy, General Buhari, Killing democracy. My brother, let me be honest with you. This thing you’ve just said makes precisely zero sense. People who were elected by their constituents to represent them deliberately did not go for their swearing in because they wanted to pick a speaker that would be in the pockets of a godfather? People refused to be sworn in and you’re accusing the Governor for this? For actions taken by grown men? What next? Blame Buhari for my hunger when I refuse to eat lunch? |
