Health › Re: 8 Ways You Can Contact Coronavirus And How You Can Protect Yourself by ThierryJay: 7:11pm On May 07, 2020
Nice. Other specific common ways people should watch our for include:

- Handling ATM / POS machines
- Opening the gates of a multi-inhabited compound with bare hands
- Handling groceries, provisions and other items purchased from malls/supermarkets without sterilizing their surfaces with sanitizers (different people touch many items in supermarkets and the AC also helps to circulate any virus pathogens)
- Buying foodstuff that is commonly handled by other people, and consumed in the state it was bought e.g Garri, Bread, pastries etc
- Taking private cabs without protective measures. Cabs commonly carry people that travel around a lot and who are more prone to contract CoVid 19
- Inviting artisans into your house for repairs/upgrades without precautionary measures as they typically move around many other people's houses

That's all for now. Please let's all take necessary precautions.

This is heartbreaking. The guy was obviously gasping for breath, so they can't even use a mask on him to avoid suffocating him to death.

From his thin stature, he may have some underlying health issues, despite being young.

FG needs to step up urgently and get in ventilators, PPE enmasse now cos we haven't even reached the stage where our healthcare facilities are overwhelmed yet.
Politics › Re: Adesina: You Can't Order President Buhari Around by ThierryJay: 5:29pm On May 05, 2020
Who is ordering the President around?? What Nigerians are asking for is a President that actively "communicates" a good grasp of the crisis at hand. A President that shows he understands the fears of the average Nigerian and instils optimism and knowledge of how to overcome the situation. Buhari needs to step up in these areas, and not just be reading manuscripts up and down under the guise of press releases.

Just check out what Sanwo-Olu and Wike are doing. They always provide updates every few days. Does that mean Lagosians or Riverians are ordering their Governors around?? What kind of disgraceful goonish mentality is this??

Anybody that dies in a hospital these days, especially of malaria related ailment automatically died of Coronavirus.
I am not saying there is no Coronavirus, but once you have fever or malaria, chances are that you will test positive fro Coronavirus. Some deaths that are attributed to Covid-19 these days are actually not the cause.
This is the pure truth.
Stop spreading ignorance. There's no truth to what you stated. Are you implying that only 31 people have died of malaria related issues in Lagos hospitals in the last TWO months?? People are still dying of malaria/typhoid complications in their hundreds in Lagos. You are not a medical specialist, so stop with the beer parlour stories.

This is sad. But you didn't have to wait until you lost someone close to you before you believed it. With all the overwhelming signs all around the world and in Nigeria, you did not believe initially. Now you are trying to convince other unbelievers it's real because you lost a colleague. Why should they believe you if they have not also lost anybody close to them??

Now you can see for yourself the foolishness of doubting thomases!

Nothing new, My company is still on lockdown, except our essential units on the field, Those on field in installations are provided with a special app that sends messages to our company's control tower, if they show any sign of sickness

I seems i love working from home now, no need to be in traffic btw the COVID 19 crisis have been the best times for us this year revenue wise.
Is it a network/telecomms support company? No wonder you guys are experiencing the best of time because data consumption during the lockdown was highest.

Statistically, it's Messi 2011/2012.

Personally, I'll go for Messi 2009/2010, followed by 2010/2011, 2011/2012 comes third while 2014/2015 Messi (most complete version of Messi) is fourth. 2018/2019 Messi rounds up my top five.

It's pretty clear that the number of reported cases of Covid-19 is likely to spike in the weeks after the suspension of the lockdown. That's a no brainer.

But when it happens, it'll be decent to not act like a whimpish bell end.

Statements like "I said it", "I knew it", "I foresaw it", "Nobody listened", "See now" would do nothing to certify you as a knowledgeable person. You would only come off as irritating or tone-deaf at best.

A critical point to consider is the different realities that apply to different people.

For some, the effects of the lockdown has barely grazed their skins, while several others have had to endure turbulent spells of hunger and discomfort.

We all have valid arguments for and against. However, no one wished for this to happen. And now that it has, people have to forge ahead.

The suspension might be a lifeline for millions out there – people who seek to hustle to make some bucks and perhaps stock up on home supplies in the event of another lockdown.

You need not go anywhere if you have no business going. But at least try to understand that those who will, will not be doing so out of moral defiance or disregard for their own safety.

Maybe they just want to eat. Maybe they don't want to lose their jobs just yet. Maybe anything (cogent).

So again, you didn't foresee anything. You didn't say anything. We all knew.

You're not hybrid.
That's quite an assumption up there. I would have wholeheartedly agreed with the pragmatism of your thoughts if not for the fact that there are still tons of people who, despite all the overwhelming evidence, do not believe Covid 19 is real. For these lots, who may likely not see any need to adhere to safety precautions, freeing them up into the populace will be like adding gasoline to fire. And that's exactly the situation the "I told you sos" are keen to avoid as indeed "not everybody knows"

This is an eyeopener for the largely unbelieving North. COVID 19 is so ruthless, it is like pregnancy that will always show. Was it not a few days ago the burial of Modu Sheriff's father held? Hopefully this will reset their thinking faculties.

And for the south, what may happen in the coming weeks after easing the lockdown may be better imagined. With the likelihood that majority of Lagosians will not be following the prescribed precautions due to the sheer impracticality of it in many circumstances, the infections may skyrocket with attendant casualties. Our healthcare facilities cannot handle such an overwhelming situation.

It is good to be positive, to be hopeful and believe that somehow we will overcome as usual. But we may have to pay a high price in human lives before attaining victory. The thing is are you and I ready to play this game of Russian roulette?

Don't you think he has caused actual damage by his statement, hence his PR team's spot on with the damage control, simply because there's nothing to defend?

If his explanations had any merits, his medical expert team would have milked it and come out to justify his comments which would have actually made his critics look stupid as this would be coming from experts. That would have been better damage control, afterall, this was the same approach he employed on the chloroquine issue.

So you see, his PR team are not as dumb as you are. And don't you dare lecture me on political wranglings, something I can take you to the cleaners on.

God, you are an irredeemable dunce. How was he forced? You just manufacture sentiments and put them out as confirmed facts which is very indicative of an airhead.

If you have a single atom of sense, you'd know that his suggestions were even lame. What is injection of a disinfectant into the lungs as he said. There are already drugs that kill pathogens in the human body. They are not called disinfectants. So he could not have been referring to these kind of drugs. The only thing he could have been talking about was something that already kills pathogens outside the body you know, like disinfectants, and putting them inside the human body. But unfortunately there's nothing like that medically. That's why he could not defend his stupid comment. He is not a medical expert yet he advised something that's medically unviable. That's why you are not seeing doctors trying to justify his statement.

At least Trump has realised the utter senselessness of his statements. I hope you get to do the same.

it wasnt sarcasm, however it wasnt literal either. he said it as an illustrative speech. like he is saying the way disinnfectant kills pathogens outside the body, they need something like that for inside the body. he didnt mean a literal disinfectant but he means an illustrative disinfectant created for insiide the body. which tells me humans have become stupid because they dont get illustrative speech
Unfortunately, this stupidity you talk of is grossly reflecting on you. And that is a matter of fact and not personal abuse.

Who is lying between you and Trump? You said it's illustrative, Trump said its sarcastic. If you don't understand English, illustrative means it's an example for a guide, Sarcastic means I said it but I was joking or making a MOCKERY of the situation. They do not mean the same and cannot be both correct in this context. You cannot understand a statement more than the owner of the statement.

What you are doing is superimposing your own logical thoughts on Trumps insane comment because you can't fathom that someone can be that stupid.

lol oga research, it will make your brain lighter.
Bros, you are comparing apples and oranges. You obviously do not understand my point of view.

I am not saying you cannot treat the human body with UV light/energy to kill off cancerous cells. That's been around for ages. My point is just a matter of correct usage of English language terminology - that you cannot use the term "inject" for UV light including the UV irradiation you are talking about. The picture you posted used the terminology "exposed" for UV irradiation treatment.

The relevance of this is that when Trump mentioned the word "injection", he couldn't have been referring to the UV light he had mentioned earlier as it would be an incompatible grammatical association simply because you cannot inject light. You can only inject a tangible substance, i.e force it, into a human being. If Trump had said something like "exposure" or "exposed" then we'd know he was referring to the UV light.

In any case, Trump himself has come out to acknowledge that he made those statements but that he was only being sarcastic. So all these unsolicited and off-tangent defences you Trump minions are putting up is an exercise in futility.

No the statement is a continuation of his previous statement on UV and yes you can inject light. cool
No you cannot inject light. Show me any authoritative source where they inject UV light. All the examples you've provided are liquid substances - UV dye, UV treated vaccine, etc. This is not the same as injecting UV light which is what you are touting as what Trump meant.

shachris02:
2014 article on using UV injection to treat SARS Corona
I see you have a problem understanding English. Read the picture you quoted well. What was injected was the Vaccine and not the UV light. The UV was an adjective describing that the vaccine had been subjected to UV light to inactivate the virus. Obviously this must have been done "before" the injection of the vaccine into the human body.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Suggests Injecting People With Disinfectant As Treatment For Coronavirus by ThierryJay: 7:09pm On Apr 24, 2020
shachris02:
No where in Trump's statement did he used"another'.

One question. Can light be injected? Yes or No?
You cannot "inject" light. To inject is to FORCE a liquid into something else. You can't force light into something.

And I did not say Trump used the word "another" in his speech. Read my comment well. I stated that his references to injection and disinfectant were in another paragraph.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Suggests Injecting People With Disinfectant As Treatment For Coronavirus by ThierryJay: 6:56pm On Apr 24, 2020
shachris02:
Im referring to UV injection which could also be seen as UV bombardment. Below are definitions of injection. Check no 3.
You know, your attempt at justifying the indefensible is getting really ridiculous and you are just proving that you are trying to cover up something with your very weak arguments.

See, you need to understand that Trump's bungle does not absolve Buhari of incompetence and cluelessness. They are not linked as you guys are making it look like. So there is nothing bad in admitting Trump messed up while you still continue to criticize your President.

In the transcript which I'm sure you have read, Trump clearly mentioned the UV light issue first and then went on to talk about ANOTHER option which was the disinfectant and that was the point he used the word "injection". In the transcript, the two options were presented in separate paragraphs indicating he was talking about two different things.

In English, register of words is important. You don't "inject" UV light into someone in medical parlance. You "beam" UV light. The term "injection" is used for penetration of liquid into the body via a syringe, or similar device. It's like saying you want to inseminate light. How?? Also, the example you quoted was totally irrelevant as it referred to abstract qualities i.e she injected scorn into her voice, CR7 injected some pace into his play, etc This cannot be your support for "injecting" UV light which would have been yet another gaffe.

You know, you can also build credibility when you are man enough to own up to your mistakes and make lemonade out of lemons! So just give it a rest with all these lamely defensive attempts that will make you look extremely dumb which I believe you are not.
