Ramos16:Happy that you got over the initial disappointment. Please what year was the interview? Was this at the assessment center stage or interview with manager? Also, if you don't mind, could you enlighten us a bit about where you eventually settled into that paid off way better than KPMG? |
GamalNasser:Although I usually disagree with most of your submissions, I couldn't agree with you better on this one. The critical question is who put this much of a whole nation's burden on Abba Kyari, a chief of staff, when we have a president! He might be a good and seasoned man as I know him to be from my experience, however, he was obviously trespassing his responsibilities which is an heavy indictment on President Buhari. Delegation should not degenerate into abdication of duty. If Buhari is this empty, then it's obvious we are going to be ruled again by proxy courtesy of the next chief of staff. |
I pity all those insinuating that COVID 19 is a scam in Nigeria because people you know are not dying yet. Don't worry e go soon clear for una eyes. With the way people have not been taking precautions here in Nigeria, it's a no brainer that it's going to spread widely. Whatever NCDC stands to gain financially does not stop people from infecting one another. If it's real in Ghana, in South Africa, in Egypt, in Burkina Faso, why wouldn't it be real in Nigeria? Are all of these countries scammers too? Including their European counterparts? The billions of grant being claimed to be received by NCDC and embezzled, Nigeria has lost several multiples of that amount in revenue from unproductivity due to lockdown. So will you, as a rational perso,n shut down your personal business that gives you N10million a month, in order to receive a 500thousand Naira handout from good Samaritans? I'm struggling to understand the level of gross stupidity at play here |

jacy346:True |
Compliant:The apocalyptic phase of the plague in Nigeria (Lagos especially) like it did in Spain, France, Belgium, Egypt etc. This is the stage where hundreds are being confirmed as infected every day and you have deaths coming up daily. This is the phase where if you step outside and do not take any precautions, you feel a genuine risk of contracting the disease. I am not being a doomsday specialist, but from the reality of things, it is not likely that the lockdown will be lifted when our confirmed cases have run into the thousands and are increasing daily. The worst case scenario is a lockdown for several months, but the resulting chaos from the hunger driven populace is better left unsaid. If lockdown is lifted in the midst of daily increases in cases, many people will die. Also, many people's unserious attitude towards the virus is not helping matters and will likely delay the recovery process. So, we need a miracle! We need the vaccine to be discovered real fast. That's our surest way out. |
It has started |
Techiekingee:Thanks jare. Didn't even know you had responded. |
Jokerman:Yet another lie If you don't know, it's not a shame to ask, rather than be disgracing yourself upandan. Messi was applauded by Real Betis fans last year and Eibar football club earlier this year. ![]() |
Gbogbowa:Nah you don't know Beckham. Beckham's personality transcended personal beefs. He was never in competition with CR7, hence there is no reason for him to be beefing CR7. |
TruthHurts100:You are asking me why Messi, who has won the Champions League FOUR times, cannot win his club continental competition (UCL) I give up on you bro. |
Jokerman:Not true. Although it may appear so if one is not thinking deeply. Keshi's Nigeria of 2014 would have beaten the weak Spanish team Ronaldo faced in 2018. Spain in 2018 flopped against Morocco and barely scraped passed Iran. And they were duly put out of their misery by Russia. I'd take Messi's wonderful free-kick and half volley performance against 2014 Nigeria than CR7's P. K, fluke goal and great free-kick against 2018 Spain. The thing is against Spain, we didn't even know Ronaldo was having a great game until he scored the free-kick late into the game, which in itself says much. |
Bahddo:Lol, you don't know CR7 fanboys, they love to misrepresent facts to support their unjustifiable opinions. In fact whenever I see Jokerman's so called supporting"facts" I already know that at least 50percent of it is fake before I even do a fact-check. Imagine another one claiming that CR7's Euro 16 performance is one of the top 3 all time national tournaments performances, yet he was not the player of the tournament. Can you see the illogicality of their lies? The guy conveniently left out over 25 other greater performances by other players, including Messi's, and thinks we are all dunces. They don't know they are shooting themselves in the foot with their ignorant arguments as anybody with an understanding of football will never be fooled. |
Lol, Jokerman go don dey vex nau o. ![]() Remember these are ex-Manutd players with closer ties to CR7 o. Their opinion can be said to be more objective. As a player, there is no way you'd play with or against both Messi and Ronaldo, and go for CR7 as the better player. |
Mizwisdom:So can you now see that what we told you a short while ago that the COVID situation in Nigeria was understated is true? That there were only low numbers because of severely limited testing. Now that testing rate has increased (it's still not enough), we are reporting higher numbers. Or do you still believe the whole COVID reportage in Nigeria is a hoax? I would want to believe you've been cured of the profound ignorance you put on display some weeks ago. I have a feeling that you are affiliated to the healthcare system, maybe as a nurse or auxiliary or something. So for you to be misleading others online (and exposing them to danger) all this while is extremely disappointing for someone with an education, and probably knowledgeable in health matters as well. Change your ways Mizwisdom |
Herbiedeen:A World Cup win has a much greater significance than an Euro win. A Confed cup win is significantly greater than an official Friendlies tournament in the guise of the UNL. An Euro win does not make up for a lack of World Cup. To better understand what I have said. When you talk about Pele, we remember his three World Cup wins. Do you remember how many Copa America he won during this period, most likely not. That's the difference. If Messi were to win the Copa, it still does not equate Maradona's WC win at Mexico. |
Jokerman:You can't draw parallels from that nau. Remember we are talking about EPL legacy. It seems you are using CR7's champions league exploits to colour the argument. Both CR7 and Henry won the EPL, so there is no issue of Maradona winning WC and Messi not winning here. On an overall career level, CR7 is greater than Henry, despite that Henry has won the WC, Confed's cup and reached the final of another WC while playing a key role in all tournaments (scored 10 goals across the three tournaments) while CR7 did not even smell any global national tournament success. So the argument you want to use, I could even use it to push Henry's superior overall trophy success over CR7's individual awards to say Henry is greater than CR7. But I wouldn't cos I understand football. |
Jokerman:I have affinity for French elegance and flair. Hence my attraction to Henry and Zidane. ![]() Your submission about CR7 in the EPL is not completely true. If he had stayed longer in the EPL say up till 2011/2012, he would definitely be the EPL's greatest player. But as it is, he cannot lay claim to that crown. I agree with you that Lampard should probably be rated higher than Giggs overall. However, I think the pundits just wanted to honour Giggs for his longevity and trophy collection. I don't think he ever had any personal outstanding season (think of Henry 2004, CR7 2008, Suarez 2014, Bale 2012, Salah 2018, Hazard 2015, Bergkamp 1998) and to me he was not at operating at the level of these players. Even Beckham had a better impactful season in 1999 and 2001 than Giggs. I don't understand your last comment about Messi and Maradona. |
Jokerman:Where is the lie? I do my due diligence properly unlike you. When I said Henry is a multiple player of the year award winner, does multiple not mean more than one? Is winning it twice not multiple? Or English has changed in meaning? And for your information, It was the PFA Player of the year award that Henry won twice. He also won the Football Writers Association player of the year award THREE times: 2003, 2004 & 2006. That's a total of five player of the year awards. Is that not multiple?? Did CR7 match that? No. If we were to go by your logic, why are you not putting Vidic up for top five best EPL player since he also won 2 PFA awards? I have a feeling that you just go around to Google to dig up statistics and form opinions based on your hurried findings without having lived through the actual era of watching the players in question. You can't make up for lost time this way. Your judgements and conclusions will be obviously flawed and this shows. There is a reason Samuel Eto'o is widely regarded as the greatest African player ahead of George Weah. Go Figure. |
Jokerman:You again? Where do I start from sef? You like to argue blindly. CR7 is even a very weak contender for this title. Ryan Giggs trophy and record haul easily trumps CR7's EPL achievements. I can't put them down here for lack of space. For you to think that CR7's sole outstanding season in 2007/2008 should make him the greatest EPL player ever is myopic and shows a distinct lack of understanding of the game. Thankfully, seasoned football experts and pundits do not think like you and have consequently never brought cr7 into the topic of the greatest ever EPL player at any point in time. Not even former ManUtd players think he is. The highest he got was 6th in a four four two ranking a few years ago. Do you know how many outstanding EPL seasons Henry had? From 2001 to 2006, Thierry ruled the EPL like no other. He owned it gave it a personal stamp. Four golden boots, highest assists ever, multiple player of the year awards, 3 FA cups and many other personal awards. Being the greatest is not just about achievements, it's a combination of achievements and personal display. And that's what you need to understand. |
MadeINchenzen2:Classiness is something intangible. You know it's there but it's difficult to pinpoint what it is exactly. Being classy is about being able to demonstrate high standards EFFORTLESSLY in every facet of one's life. It's about having CONTROL over one's attitude to life as opposed to being all over the place or trying too hard to attain excellence. It's connotes all-round comportment. A classy girl is elegant, fashionable without being flashy, mature in mentality, knowledgeable enough to hold intelligent discussions, has excellent taste, comported and courteous, exposed, firm, self-dependent and gracious to others. If classiness was a football player, it would have the face of Zidane or Iniesta, rather than Ronaldinho and Messi who are explosive. |
Jokerman:I am always objective. And I can't fault you for choosing Pele as the greatest, since you have official backing. However, my choice to pick Maradona and Messi over Pele is out of personal preference based on some other factors I considered. |
Igbosmoker:You think great football started in 1999? How can you put CR7 over Maradona So you would have a crucial match against a very tough team. You have Maradona of 1986 in his prime and CR7 in his prime, as options. You'd now chose Cristiano over Maradona Have you watched Maradona play at all?? He was a beast, scoring solo goals after solo goals against tough teams with tackles flying in at him from all corners. You think it was a joke that he was awarded the greatest player of the century together with Pele, that FIFA and the majority of fans were blind?? So we should regard your opinion above FIFA and other football fans??There is no point arguing with you any longer. |
slimfit1:You didn't notice that he was being sarcastic? Read the quote again, he was mocking Kyari! |
Igbosmoker:Well you haven't justified how you arrived at your own list. My top ten greatest players are: 1 Maradona, Messi 3 Pele 4 Ronaldo de lima 5 Zidane 6 Cristiano Ronaldo 7.Johan Cryuff 8. Di Stefano 9. Ronaldinho 10.Marco Van Basten |
Igbosmoker:No he did not. In the final against West Germany he only assisted the winning goal. In the QF against England, he scored with his hand, but also scored the greatest goal in World Cup history shortly afterwards in the same game. If he had not scored with his hand, the game would at least have been 1 - 1. So you cannot say that if he hadn't scored with his hand, England would have beaten Argentina, thus denying him the WC trophy. |
Igbosmoker:No please, that's your opinion, and I doubt that you love Messi as much as I do. However, you need to be objective in your analysis. Statistics alone do not tell the whole story about how great a player is in football. That's why Zidane is miles greater than Lampard, even though Lampard has significantly better stats. If you watch Maradona's videos, you'd see that he was also a one man army, always running with a convoy of players behind him. His influence took Napoli, an average club to wining the Scudetto. Maradona's performance at the WC in 1986 is widely regarded as the greatest individual performance by any player to have won the World Cup. The fact that we are talking about Messi in the same bracket as Maradona is testament to Messi's incredibility and how exceptional he has been, despite his relative failure with the National team. (Getting to four finals with a national team will be regarded as success by some others, but for Messi the bar is high). |
obonujoker:Maradona did not win the champions league. At least Messi was close to the WC, but Maradona didn't even have a shot at UCL. I agree that Maradona has a stronger personality than Messi, but that does not make him better than Messi football wise. Messi was more consistent than Maradona as well, and could do everything Maradona did on the pitch. My opinion is that they are equal. |
Jokerman:How is Pele the greatest when the FIFA gave both Pele and Maradona, player of the century award?? Does your opinion carry more authority than FIFA that allowed them share the award? |
The most likely scenario is that he was already brain dead at the time Aunty Kemi publicized his death. Being brain dead means the same as being clinically dead and it is an irreversible situation. However, his organs were likely still kept operational by a ventilator/life support until the family decided to pull the plug. The announcement came after the plug had been pulled. Burial could not have happened while he was already clinically dead since the plug had not been pulled at that time. So Kemi was technically right while the OP also has a point. Both are not mutually exclusive. P.S: I got my analysis from reports by people allegedly close to the situation. |
It is without a doubt an award well deserved. Thierry Henry has produced the greatest and most consistent scintillating world class performances ever seen in the premier league and as such deserves to be the greatest EPL player. At his prime 2003 - 2004 & 2006, he was rated higher than Ronaldo De Lima at the same time. He was the first world class EPL player to combine both insane scoring prowess with playmaking ability similar to Messi. Imagine, Henry, a striker, still holds the EPL record of assists (20) in a single season, in the same season where he scored 24 goals which was only bettered by Ruud VN with a lone goal. Thierry could dribble, was extremely skillful, was elegant in movement, had incredible technique, could score any kind of goal, solo goals, thunderous shots, curlers, overhead kicks, flicks, backheels, volleys name it. He was a magician, who did not rely on supplies from midfield before he could score. If it wasn't happening from midfield, he could make it happen all by himself e.g vs Real madrid, & Liverpool. He still holds the record for being the fastest recorded player on field of play (38.9km/hr vs Paraguay at France 98). He could sprint on the field all day long and particularly enjoyed humiliating tough defenders with his bust of pace and acceleration ( ask Maldini, Nesta, Carragher, Zanetti). Thierry was the perfect embodiment of Va Va Voom. He is without a doubt one of the top 25 greatest players of all time. Lalasticlala, this is frontpage worthy given the limited news availability on sports in these difficult times. |
