Jostoman:You know, I remember having a conversation with a barber who still does not believe HIV is real. You and that guy are in the same boat of ignorance. So in your wisdom, you are saying less than five hundred people have died in Nigeria since February?? Thousands of people have died since and they were not attributed to Corona. |
Sholaco:Bro, I'm protected. I don't live in the same residence with her. |
martinnwani:Brother, the insult was generic and meant to demonstrate the utter lack of sense in such thought process. COVID 19 is not blown out of proportion, Rather it is UNDER-REPORTED in Nigeria. There are thousands of people living with COVID 19 who are not included in the daily NCDC reports. If people are not taking precautions about something that can kill their loved ones, then I'm sorry to say they deserve to be called dumb. |
It amazes me that a high number of Nigerians still believe that COVID-19 is a scam. Scam that has killed Abba Kyari, Maikanti Baru, President of Burundi, Tinubu's ADC and now Senator Osinowo. Scam that has almost killed Nasir El-Rufai, Governor Ikpeazu, and now Senator Ajimobi. Will all these notable people willingly sacrifice their lives for the so called financial benefit from Covid 19? Logic requires that if it is a scam, then these guys must have been willing participants in the hoax. These dumb set of Nigerians keep screaming that COVID 19 is actually Malaria. Ho Ho, Malaria that did not kill Kyari all these years he has been having malaria. Since when did Malaria start resulting in respiratory distress which is what is killing off all these people? Every person in Nigeria tends to have malaria at least once in a year. That is about 200million cases annually. Death toll is often up to 1million a year, meaning 0.5 percent death rate. If COVID 19 were to infect all 200million Nigerians like malaria, there will be between 2 - 4 million deaths (@ 1 - 2% death rate). Is that not enough for people to take this serious? And then, these idiots go on to say that why don't they know someone who knows someone who has it or some shit like that. Really?? They tell me that Malaria has been killing over EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND people in Nigeria ANNUALLY. Yet in my over thirty years of existence in Nigeria, I have NEVER come across someone who died from Malaria. How much more COVID 19 whose documented casualty in Nigeria is still less than 500, while infections are still in the tens of thousands. A close family member of mine contracted COVID and recovered. I did not have to wait until she contracted it before I believed in its realness. I am sorry if you feel insulted by my comment, but if you are not taking precautions about something that can kill you or your loved ones, then the insult is a wake-up call that is perfectly in order. |
salford1:Lol, If I may project, you should be earning over N60million per annum now. U be boss o. Was earning 170k gross monthly salary when I got married in 2014. |
Absolute balderdash coming from Inyama. In marriage, the relationship between a husband and wife is at a different dimension than between two unmarried persons. There's a form of implied authority both have over each other's body, such that violation of the body can only be in special circumstances, such as in domestic assault/battery/and violence. In the absence of physical assault, a husband having sex with his wife who did not give express consent, cannot be said to have committed the same crime that the Killers of Uwa, or all those randy old bastards who rape children have committed. On the other side of the coin, there are several instances where wives manipulate their tired husband's manhood, either by forced MouthAction when he's too tired (came back from work late) or giving it a handjob when the husband would obviously prefer to be asleep. They then mount the husband's now turgid pole and then begin to bounce away on it. Is Inyama by any means insinuating that these wives deserve to be placed on the same disgraceful pedestal that, for example, the Chrisland teacher who raped a 4 year old pupil is on, and go to prison for fulfilling their conjugal rights? Can you see the utter naivety and senselessness in this line of thought? If this were the case, then many of our fathers and mothers should be in prison rotting away. Why will a wife feel damaged that her husband had sex with her? Imagine the reaction if Dangote's wife were to come out and say Dangote raped her, Or Aisha saying Buhari raped her? These bitter feminists should just know that they are weakening the actual rape issue with all these kind of inconsequential exertions. Rape is a serious matter that deserves extreme punishment. Don't water it down by bringing in all kinds of typical everyday sexual activities just to get back at men. The craze for feminism should not take away people's common sense. Nigerian law doesn't support marital rape. |
olisaEze:You're welcome bro. I recognize a gent when I see one ![]() I respect your view too. Ronaldo is Rambo while Messi is Scofield. Personally, I'd stick with brains over brawns bro ![]() |
olisaEze:Thanks for the compliment. It's really appreciated. However, I think you are being too harsh on Messi about his international exploits. He scored 9 goals in total at the World cup 2014 and Copa 2016 tournaments and was awarded the best player of the tournament at both competitions. That does not sound like a record of someone who does not perform for his national team, especially when you consider that his great rival has never won any individual best tournament player award which is a testament that the rival's relative success at the national front is more of collective effort (Eder comes to mind) than individual. At the INDIVIDUAL level, even at the national front, I can argue that Messi has been a better national team player than CR7 because he won two or three best player awards, which also demonstrates consistency, while CR7 has none. He took his team to the World cup final, although didn't win it. Doesn't mean he's a failure. I would suppose you wouldn't say Roberto Baggio is an Italian failure for failing to win USA 94, despite his very good performance at the Mundial. And yes you are right, from 2013 there was a drop in intelligence level of Argentinian players around Messi (Higuaín, Lavezzi, & co), hence he had to labour more and more. It is sad, that the best period for Messi with Argentina should have been from 2009 - 2013, but those years were wasted for Messi in a way I cannot understand cos he had the sheer ability to bend matches to his will during this period. Take for instance World Cup 2010, Messi could have had 5 goals from his efforts, but was incredibly unlucky, other than against Germany when it all came crumbling apart. I hope I've put in a bit of perspective, because Messi is often judged too harshly. Don't just jump on the bandwagon often bandied around by your fellow fans about Messi's international career. |
obonujoker:Sighs.....Why do you CR7 fans think stats provide the ultimate definition of how good a player is? It's like you never watched De Lima play else you wouldn't be spewing all these utter blasphemy. Jose Mourinho, a fellow Portuguese, was honest enough to admit that Ronaldo De Lima was a better striker than CR7. Would you say jealousy?, I don't think so cos Jose and De Lima are not rivals. I'd think he'd know his onions more than you do. Why do you think Iniesta is highly rated as better/greater than the likes of Fabregas and Lampard who both were more prolific (goalscoring) and had higher number of assists than Iniesta? It's a certain world-class quality that Stats cannot confer, such that when you see Iniesta on the ball, the expectation of magic is higher than with Fabregas or Lampard. Ronaldo De Lima, is the most fearsome striker ever in football. He is the ultimate. At the age of 20, he was already world player of the year (the youngest). Many Italian defenders (the toughest ever) will fancy their chances against CR7 than against R9, who consistently made utter mess of quality defenders. He had more world-class competition than CR7 in the form of Zidane, Romario, Roberto Baggio, Rivaldo, Laudrup, Figo, Suker, Batistuta, Henry, Bergkamp, Ronaldinho, Stoitchkov, Klinsmann, Raul. CR7 has just had Messi and Kaka, with Neymar being underwhelming so far. I would not put Ribery or Robben in the same class as the football greats I'd previously listed. To answer your question, R9 is far more talented than CR7. He is more skillful, more technical, more devastating, better dribbler, and cannot be restricted on the field of play. At age 21 he already dominated the world like no other. Scoring tons of headers and penalties does not put a player on the pedestal of being the best. So yes, R9 is much better than CR7. |
nero2face:Apostle must hear of this! ![]() |
When the best talks, the good ones listen. LM10 is the Michael Scofield of football. The most intelligent player ever to play the round leather game. Why so? He plays football like a game of chess. He is able to see 4 - 6 moves ahead of play at any point in time. When he starts the one-two pass 50 yards away from goal, everyone probably thinks it's just a harmless passage of play, except the GOAT. Six moves and perhaps seconds later, the net is bulging with the Goalkeeper wondering how it all ever happened. It's unbelievable, it's magic, it's Messi. Yet it's also just another day at the office for La Pulga Atomica. That's why he's the only player ever to be referred to as a PlayStation player, a cheat code. Another evidence? To play with Messi well, you need to be intelligent as well. Players that are not smart will not make it in Messi's Barca. So when you play with Messi, he improves your overall intelligence as a player. That's what De Jong is talking about. And no, he's not ass-licking Messi. |
sagir1994:Do you mean Vikings or breaking bad? |
Nothing surprising here. Undoubtedly the greatest of the 21st century. For the overall greatest position, his main contenders are only Maradona, Pele and Ronaldo Da Lima. |
makeherscream:I agree with you bro |
I'm no Liverpool fan, but gotta admit Klopp is a genius coach. I also did not know he was a carpenter, cos he NAILED it with this latest opinion. Oliver Kahn's remarkable agility was a perfect tonic for the beauty of Okocha's goal. He kept on jumping from left to right like a monkey looking for that elusive banana, in this case Jay Jay's expected shot which seemed to never materialise. Yet, Oliver was not deterred as he kept faith in his much vaunted reflexes. Surely the shot was going to come, and he had to be ready when it did. So he continued leaping and diving into real estate with yet more vigour and determination, and the turf kept reverberating which each endless thud of Khan's brutalized body. Yet Jay Jay kept dancing , with the commentator who kept shouting "Okocha, Okocha, Oko.., Okocha……." with each elegant twist of the attacker's body. But Oliver kept swinging despondently in hope, mirroring the aimless movements of his hapless defenders, in stark contrast to the swaying heads of the voluptuous crowd of spectators who were in awe of what was to come. Finally, when Jay Jay had had his fill, with an eventual swing of his boot, he had put Khan out of his misery, and made football history! Lalasticlala, while this story may not be related to a certain reptilian species, it is certainly frontpage material for our darling JJ! Mynd44 pls help also put on frontpage |
HazardMan:Loss of sense of smell and change in taste combined with breathing problem is a definitive symptom of Covid 19 and not Malaria. The good news is that you guys are probably only exhibiting mild symptoms. Do you have any other symptom apart from loss of smell and catarrh? i.e fever, diarrhea, weakness, sore throat, cough, body pains, feeling of weight in chest |
Dayodragon:Lol, Be very careful what you asking for: Go watch below games where Messi single handedly destroyed big teams: Quadruple vs Arsenal 09/10 vs Valencia 11/12 Hattricks vs R Madrid 06/07 vs R Madrid 13/14 vs At Madrid 10/11 vs At Madrid 11/12 vs Valencia 09/10 vs Manchester City 16/17 vs Brazil 2012 vs Switzerland 2013 Braces vs R.Madrid UCL semifinal 10/11 vs B.Munich UCL semifinal 14/15 vs Juventus 17/18 vs Chelsea 17/18 vs R.Madrid 11/12 supercup final vs R.Madrid 12/13 vs R.Madrid 16/17 vs Liverpool 18/19 vs Manutd 18/19 vs AC Milan 13/14 And many more others I cant even remember. Do the above teams look like Eibar and Getafe to you? I would not have even condescended to engage with you but for the impressionable peeps who can be misled to believe your false submissions. Messi has a far greater number of iconic performances than CR7 against all kinds of opposition. It is for this reason he has the highest man of the match awards in football since 2008. This is a fact that your sentiments cannot supersede. |
Na to change mode of acknowledging payment receipt on WhatsApp o. e.g Zik don reach destination a thousand years ago (transfer of 500,000 naira with Nnamdi Azikiwe on the note) or Zik on a thousand beats |
charlesELIKIBA:Now you see! I am happy that you eventually found success, given the circumstances. However, to enjoy the success, you need to let go of the pains and strings from childhood. I don't think it's the fault of your Uncle and his wife that they took you in initially since you stated that they had initially left you but had to come back due to the insistence of their children for you to join them. The genesis of this whole issue is that you saw your uncle and wife as your parents, but they did not see you as their biological son. This is the fact. However, this does not mean they are evil. It is simply a difference in expectations. Your experience is a sad reality for many Nigerian children who look upon richer relatives as a means to escape misery but whose hopes get dashed when the relatives appear to not cater for them to their desired extent. This is where resentment from extended family members usually stem from. Change your mindset and even reach out to your uncle and see yourself attain even greater level of success. |
@ CharlesElikiba, your entire mentality and psychological mindset needs to experience a truthful shift. Every teenager goes through some moment of questioning a parent's love due to disciplinary measures. It's even tougher for a relative living with cousins. It does not mean that those parents were wicked. Now that you are successful, I'll implore you to go bring in all of your less privileged nieces and nephews and other family relatives under your care and continue to TRAIN them till adulthood until they are all successful. If you do not do that, or stop midway, you would be making yourself a BIG HYPOCRITE, having castigated your Uncle and his wife. The truth is the status of a child living with a relative is not the same as the status of the children of the relative. Parents already have a plan on expenditure to train their children. If a child of another comes into the fold, there's only a limit to which the parents can take care of such a child indefinitely, especially when the child is not particularly showing prospect, judging from what you stated. It's understandable for a teenager to see this as wickedness, but I'll expect that upon transition to adulthood, you'd have a better perspective of things. AND YOU HAVE NOT PARTICULARLY STATED ANY SPECIFIC MALTREATMENT THEY METED OUT TO YOU OTHER THAN THE USUAL ERRANDS EVERY ONE OF US EXPERIENCED AS A TEENAGER. Your parents should have been responsible for your education and WAEC. That your Uncle did not fund your WAEC does not mean he is evil. After all, the main reason he did that was that he knew you were not going to pass, and you yourself admitted so! If not for miracle centers which is fraud. You are in a mental competition with your cousins who may not even know that they are in competition with you. So, your mind is the one in fetters You need to purge yourself of the ill-advised pent-up resentments, bitterness, envy and the likes that you've harboured all these years. Dreams are usually as a result of feelings that we've intensely and continually thought about over time. Once you free your mind, the dream about your aunty should stop. That you are successful now does not change the need to rid yourself of unnecessary bad energy in form of unhealthy rivalry and angst. |
But the OP did not say anything about turning into an introvert in his narrations. So how come the topic is saying something else? Mods |
CAUSTIC002:No, what is happening is that countries are gradually coming to terms with living with the virus. It's called a social end to the virus. Where people stop having fear of the virus and go on about their normal lives regardless of casualties. Similar to how we are coping with HIV, Malaria, seasonal flu, all of which still kills hundreds of thousands of people every year. etc |
alizma:Exactly, unscripted this is what I was talking about. The info you posted is incomplete as it's not for the entire day. |
unscripted:There's another link on the same worldometer website page that provide statistics of the previous days. That's what you should check as it's more comprehensive than the statistics displayed per time. If you check same for the US for the day in question, you'd see its way higher than 57 deaths. |
unscripted:I would have hoped same, but you didn't adjust for time differences between countries during which those stats were recorded. What I'm saying is that +57 deaths you saw for the US is not for the whole day but most likely for a few hours depending on the time you viewed the website from Nigeria. Same applies for the other countries. |
[/quote) I think Covid is now widespread in Lagos. I think many people have been displaying mild symptoms and suspecting Covid, but most are not voicing out for various reasons. May God help us all. |
realvikash:That's exactly what he is doing! In the example I gave, there is an existing law/directive that stipulates flouting of traffic rules as an offence, there's existing Law that designates fraudulent acts as criminal offence. That he already gave a directive does not give him unilateral powers to determine the punishment for those who flouted the directives. The punishments he is meting out are not documented in his directive. Going by your logic, you'd have no problem if Wike executed defaulters of the lockdown to the death since, after all, he had already given a directive. Now ponder on this point deeply like a rational being that you are. |
realvikash:It is you that is not getting it. No one is saying that defaulters should not be punished. However, punishment should be commensurate. Consider this, if you, realvikash, were driving your SUV and you accidentally flouted the traffic light rules, would you maintain this your opinion if FRSC were to seize your car and physically destroy it completely? Should the punishment for slander or libel or even fraudulent acts be the death sentence? Cos that's pretty much what Wike is doing. |
naijaschoolguru:How you take know say na normal die the person die? Oya what was the official cause of death since it happened at FMC?? |
adamadwealthy:True, you can't hide Covid 19, but what about the 4 people that died in FMC Lokoja of symptoms similar to Covid 19 within 24 hours? Have you thought about it that the reason there are yet to be any significant deaths is because the infection cycle in Kogi may be relatively recent and therefore at an early stage. Not every state is at the same stage of infection. The thing is, until you test for Covid 19, you cannot really know or say there is no case in Kogi State. If the Governor says no testing, then the lives of the people, particularly the medical personnel in Kogi are at significant risk because they may be exposed to infected persons without any protection, which is why they are rightly worried about the situation. |
awhybliss:Reunion, Cambodia, Vietnam, Faroe Islands, Nepal, Uganda, Gibraltar. Four out of these countries have higher number of positive cases than Madagascar. |
awhybliss:Chief, I understand your position, however, the guy you quoted has raised valid points. Madagascar is not the only country with COVID cases without any deaths. And these other countries don't have any touted cure that's responsible for the zero deaths. It is possible that people in Madagascar have a higher natural body defense system due to their general lifestyle. This does not mean the herbal cure does not work or should not be taken, but until you have eliminated other factors through accurate research (e.g if they were not taking the herb, would they still not have recorded zero deaths so far?), its curative properties still remains an unproven assumption. In any case, WHO has now called for the herb to be trialled. |
