People do not understand the effects small small decisions can have.
This election reinforce the notion that yorubas in general put their cultural identity way before religion. It looks like many Christian yorubas cast their votes for Tinubu. It appears he got some more Christian votes from places like Benue and Rivers.
On the other hand northerners put more importance on their religion. The votes in the north were just for the 3major Muslim candidates. While Atiku got some good Christian votes from Adamawa, Oyo and Osun, and south east regions.
Obi got some few Muslim votes from the youths in the southwest.
But then idiots like Omokri are beginning to think that this election is the rough reflection of our population makeup. He thinks that because INEC result (that was greatly doctored in favour of Tinubu and Atiku as attested to by Atiku and Kwankwaso), showed that Obi couldn’t succeed even when Muslim votes were balkanized by three Muslim candidates, then Muslims must be a whole lot more than Christians.
Idiots like Omokri do not consider the fact that our immediate neighbors to our right and left that occupy similar latitude degrees to us from Ghana in the west, to Togo, Benin and Cameroon in the east have similar northern areas where Muslims populate and southern areas where Christians dominate, and in all of these countries Christians are the obvious majority.
Moreover, in every election cycle especially since 1999, there have always been far more Christian governors than Muslim governors.
Muslim population can’t be taken for granted in Nigeria too, as the fact that Nigeria was the epicenter of Muslim Jihad in west Africa in the 17th century which was one of the the very last successful Islamic Jihad anywhere in the world, coupled with the fact that our landmass thin out towards the base may very well cancel out those my two previous postulations.
The fair and reasonable thing to say in any case, especially since no election have addressed our religious makeup, is that the country is fairly divided between Muslims and Christians. The often forever cited 53% to 47% is comfortable to agree with.
Still, I wrote and warned that a lot rested on the last election. It was significant. Religion is still a factor in our politics. It would have been fair for a Christian to take over from a Muslim. The prestige and political stake of Christians would have been maintained, with a further consequence being the solidification of our unity. But some myopic ignoramus couldn’t see into the future to gauge the implication and significance of their decisions. Besides, we had a good Christian candidate. That had better character and anticedent than Atiku and Tinubu.
Mischievous minds like Omokri and many other people ignorant of Nigeria’s history and position can now go on promoting skewed postulations to the chagrin and political relegation of Christians, because the very worst actually happened; INEC announced a Muslim-Muslim ticket victory.
May the coming years be favorable to us, despite what looks like we haven’t sown a favorable seed. We haven’t established a good precedent.

Its stupidity to compare lagos or development there to any state in Nigeria. Lagos on its own is richer than Ghana. Many factors from about 150years ago made it this way.
But, we don't know anything about how this wealth is managed. Everything is done in secrecy. Lagos is more or less the only state that do not adhere to FOI about its accounts.
Gbadebo number one merit and the biggest really, is that he have said the first thing he will do is to enable lagosians to monitor their wealth.
The development you see now is actually underachievement. Lagos can do much more.
