Good morning mature men and women in the house. Please I need your help on this topic.

My Fiancee told me about how her biological dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant.

Her mum later married another man who adopted her as his child.

Now she's grown and I've proposed to her, I wanted to go for her official introduction and list collection.

Would it not be nice to hear the biological father's opinion? Should I just ignore the fact that the man is still alive and proceed with the marriage arrangement?

Although she said I should not bother about that, but this is Nigeria and as an Akwa Ibomite I don't think it's proper. Although she's against me trying to find out about the man's opinion. Should I care?

What can you say about this?

Note: she only told me that the man abandoned them, but what if it was her mum that actually took her away?
Dig everything u can dig before finally marrying her man. Just imagine in the future she has a child for u and run away with the child.
Meet the man, ask other family members questions. U can even go do little investigation where they grew up in. Marriage is that serious

We warned you that we won’t have a present president in Tinubu but you “Akoshibero” can’t just see logic. People are angry oh and frustrated.
Ok you talked and your talk caused shock. It’s been 3days now, shouldn’t you have come out again to talk to ease up the situation? You are now sending your spokespersons to give some valueless speech. Aren’t you the president with the attendant powerful presence?
We are getting exactly what we bought. We saw all these and warned against them during the campaign. I am certain Obi would have by now organize a press or even visit some gas stations to calm nerves and assuage tensions. He is that agile and isn’t shy of the press.
I can imagine Tinubu is still resting on some bed and being recharged by teams of medical personnel. He will sleep even if Nigeria burns!!!
You “Akoshiberos” are the ones slowing us down. You are contented with rubbish. You are not ambitious and do not even know that things can be better. You are the problem of Nigeria.

I totally disagree with the leadership of the LP on this condemnation issue. Fuel subsidy is an unnecessary evil perpetuated by the demons in the APC for 8 years after calling it a fraud without having a zilch about its intricacies.

Now if the same APC is cornered to dispose of it on accountxof the associated economic implications, then so be it. After all, that is what a Peter Obi regime also planned to do.
I see u write well, then u should be able to read well too.
Are LP against the removal? No! Implementation is the problem here. It’s like what Buhari tried to do with Emiefele. The money policy was good but the harsh and sudden way they went about it was the problem. The problem with this one too is that the way Tinubu talked about it yesterday sent panic among people. I hope (though against logic) that things get better.
Fuel subsidy removal is a most, but a leader must be tactful and skillful with his speech.
The overall scripted speech of President Tinubu yesterday was beautiful and motivating, however, he really blipped up in the way he in a macho way announced the end of subsidy. The suffering of all tribes, tongues and creeds since yesterday is a direct result of that failure in leadership.
I have bought fuel at an NNPC depot for #400 per liter today. Have you an APC supporter faired any better?
For the first 2 days of this administration, it’s just too early!
And an active and agile president by now would have given a talk on the issue or even personally visit some petrol station to drive home his message of compassion more forcefully.

I and my siblings grew up in a very dramatic polygamous home, it was both hectic and toxic at a time.

We vowed to break the yoke of polygamy in our family but I don’t know if I’m toeing the line already.

I already have a child with a lady though I didn’t marry her, but we ended our relationship in 2020. We are cool and we are both taking care of our child without troubles, we only talk about our child and we don’t share what’s going on in our lives with each other.

I recently met a girl I plan to marry by the first quarter of next year, she is from a nuclear family and she knows about my family background as well. She’s been asking me what I’ll do if the mother of my child says she won’t allow my child visits or come spend the holidays with me except she is also allowed to come spend the holiday with my child in my house.

The question sounds confusing at the same time funny to me because I don’t know how a woman I stopped seeing since 3 yrs will suddenly say she won’t allow my child visit except she comes along.

That’s not my worry, I want to know if marrying my girlfriend when I already have a child with another woman will make me a polygamist.

Mod please help move to front page

Hello people,

Am married for 6 years with two kids. Some months ago, my wife started denying sex so much that we hardly have 2 times in a month. Because of this, I no longer disturb her this days cos it's better to let her be than to be rejected since most times I expected her to say no or give an excuse or the other which am always about 90 percent right about.

This days, I don't feel attracted to her sexually anymore. I have never cheated on her but this days, the thought of doing so is gradually creeping in. Have tried talking to her about this but no change. I don't want to start what extra marital affair but am tempted to.

I need your advise guys.
Honest advice guy. Tell her you will be separating (not legal divorce) from her. You can leave the house for her because of your kids.
Strong your heart. Be away for like a month or two until she gives a solemn pledge to change.
You must take serious decisions before this thing that looks simple complicate your life.
If you go cheat, u may get disease or get a bastard child and this is the beginning of a complicated life. There have even been cases were concubines plan and kill the wife and the legal children.
Just be a man and separate first before cheating

All thanks to everyone for their immense contributions towards my elder brother predicament. This place is truly home away from home. For those getting to know or who just come across this thread, you can read through the link posted above to get a grasp of where I'm coming from.

Someone sent me a mail having gone through my post and we both shared contact. He works on the island and he was willing to absorb my elder brother into his organisation. It's an organisation where one learn a skills and get paid monthly. Then after being certified in your skills, you can be employed as a full staff into the organisation. He would be given #20,000 monthly as stipend while learning as an apprentice but the man promised to be adding #10,000 to it making a total of #30,000 monthly. This person didn't know me from Adam but was touched by my brother's condition and he developed interest in helping him in his own little way. He asked me to inform my elder brother and get back to him.

I discussed everything to my brother verbally. Infact, i relate everything to him in my mother's tongue for ease of communication. I asked him if he has any interest in the offer and he said yes. He has interest. He's very much interested. He said he'd specialised in plumbing. I reached out to the man and we both finalise everything. He asked my brother when would he love to resume and he said month end. After the call, i asked him why month end and he said he doesn't have anything. He needs to get some few clothes, toiletries and some money for upkeep. I asked him where would he get money from less than 2 weeks to month end. He claimed if he can see any bus to work with. I told him you've been out of job going to a year, you didn't get any bus. Why do you think you'd get a bus within a short space of time? I asked him what if i rally round for him, is he willing to resume before the month end, he said yes with happy face. I borrowed #10,000 from a friend, i had #5,000 left with me, making a total of #15,000. I gave him 2 pairs of trousers and shirt i had. He bought a small school bag of #3,000 to put his clothes and he left in two days time. That was last week Wednesday. Oh! God, i was the happiest man on earth that very day.. I was so happy for him believing that he would become somebody from there. I called him to know if he has gotten there and how the work was. He said everything was fine.

I was surprised to see my brother at home on Friday, two days after he left. I asked him hope all is well? He said yes. I asked him why did he came back home so soon considering the cost of transportation to island. He was given a room he'd put up with. I expected him to stay there and focus on his job, whenever i have any money i would send to him. The man that helped him with the job called me later in the day. He narrated the gross misconduct of my brother. My brother left the job on Friday during working hours. The work is Monday to Saturday. Though Saturday is half day. He explained every details of the job to my brother before he resumed work. My brother was assigned to someone else to work with, not directly the man that helped him. The man only came to check up on him daily to know how he's fairing. The man was there when my brother took his bag, headed outside with the claim that he was going home. The man told him he can't go home now till after work, which is on Saturday. My brother didn't listen to the boss he was assigned with nor the man that helped him. He left right in their presence.

They do give daily report, and the man he was assigned with reported that he doesn't have anyone to work with, particularly on Saturday. The management asked him about my brother assigned to him and he said he has left on Friday. My brother was dismissed for his attitude. I pleaded to give him a second chance, but the man said it was beyond his power. The management has decided. I asked him to report there today and apologise for his gross misconduct. He went but apology wasn't accepted. If i was the man that helped my brother with this job or if i was among the management. I would do the same thing. I'd gladly lay him off without thinking twice.

My mother had been crying having heard the outcome of everything. I myself had cry my eyes out, all because of this my elder brother. I am fed up. The burden is too much. I might be tempted to harm him living under the same roof with him. I had been trying to console my mum but she wouldn't listen. Landlord came to harass her last week, the very day my elder brother left, because of house rent. I had 3 younger siblings to look after. Here comes my elder brother problem again. I am responsible for all of these with my meagre pay. I don't know what else to do for this guy. I don't think i can put up with him anymore. I am tired. Why is this life full of problems? I am losing my mind completely.
There is mental issues and we do not know generally or understand it in Nigeria.
Your brother might need counseling and help. He may not feel save outside your home or do not know how to relate well with others. He may have things talking to him in the head.
He needs mental appraisal and help

Yes, accidents and evil things happen today that are in no way God's doings.

That's why it's a pointless discussion engaging with people who say, where is your God when children are dying from hunger and war in so so & so.

Men are wicked & evil...and it's not God's prerogative to be running like an errand boy to reverse the freewill actions of men.

But even then, the God who destroyed men young & old repeatedly in the days of old, may also be the same God who allowed the Titanic to sink with the 1500 people who died with it.

I'm just saying to not disprove that possibility.

I'm curious about the 700+ who got saved. Mercy found them.

I wish there was a record of all of them.
Ok... I agree with this your take now to a very large extent

Well, God is mysterious.

He sacrificed 70, 000 men when David ignored his instruction to not number the men.

God can't be understood by our human reasoning.

You need to be Spirit to understand God.
Gods dealings with we humans is systematic. In the days before Christ God was seen to interfere and intervene very much physically especially in his physical possession-Israel then. He fought with thunders, caused fire to fall down from heaven and even at a time submerged the whole world in water. Now however, God has entered another dimension of relationship (he didn’t change mind you, but progressed to the next step) with humans. He now deals with us most in spiritual ways.
The Israelites where at the time of David to all intent and purpose David’s property. They could be made to pay for his shortcomings. However now, we are Jesus (the better King David property).
Cast your mind to the question Jesus asked the people of his days about the people that perished under a tower that fell. He asked them if it was there sin? We understand from his question and other Bible passages that we these days get caught up by randomness manifesting in different ways. Accident happens that are not in anyway Gods doings in our grossly imperfect and aged world today.

I sincerely believe amongst other things, that the major thing that sunk the titanic sink was the bragging of the builder or the owner.

It was reported that he bragged that with the money and quality put into building the ship, not even GOD could sink it.
The rest we know is History.

Reminds me of a certain Brazilian big politician.
He bragged that if he could get 500,000 votes from his party primaries , not even GOD could stop him from being leader.
Truly He could got the 500K votes but on the day on election he was found dead.

We must Fear, reverence and Honor GOD.
When you begin to see yourself as God or that you have it all. You make yourself a tool for God to deal with.

The ALMIGHTY is a Jealous GOD and does not share HIS glory with anybody.
God doesn’t work like that. The workings of God especially during our time is not to sacrifice 1500 lives (many children inclusive), just to prove a point.
You know me by now, you should reach me so we can both get a better understanding of the God of the Bible and his ways.
Be careful about this kind of post in the city, because it may actually have a counter effect of making people hate God

seunmsg:
Where did you get the part in bold from? Did you even vote during the last election?

No bro, accreditation and voting are done together. You get accredited and vote immediately. Accreditation ends when the last voter cast his or her vote. Ballots are counted and result announced. Result is then compared to the accreditation data on BVAS and of there is not over voting, both are transmitted to IREV and manually to the ward collation centre.

So, if you can’t transmit accreditation data to IREV in real time for whatever reasons, you can’t also transmit result to IREV in real time for the same reasons because the process is exactly the same.
What I said is right it’s just that it wasn’t exhaustive enough.
When I said voting I meant to say result. Accreditation and voting are singular processes that all amount to give a result.
Whilst I agree that the purported Judgment in Osun really looks like something that might have a consequential effect on the presidential case, Accreditation is singular processes which may not be transmitted in real time one after another, however, result is the sum of the processes of accreditation and voting,!this being a sum process can be transmitted immediately after the conclusion of the whole processes. And what more, we had the head of INEC going everywhere to even significant places and giving the promise that this is what is going to happen... he gave the idea that the whole reputation of the process depended on this. The Nigerian populace that are the real stake holder of this process , even more than INEC itself, understood, expected and depended on this assurance/promise
