Exactly if people will stop being biased and actually look at the facts they will realise that the driver is a liar.

Firstly he claimed to have fetched her without her putting a destination on the trip. Anybody who has ever used Taxify and Uber will know that your destination is required before you are able to request a trip. How was he able to get her without her destination. So that already said a lot. If you having problems with a customer he could have driven to the nearest police station or even called Taxify yet he didn't.
I use Taxify and I do not need to input a destination before connecting to a driver.

Stop lumping what you know about Uber as also a feature of Taxify.

When he had a problem with his stubborn passenger, he told her to alight even before he moved the vehicle, but she refused. He ended the trip and drove to his own house that was in the same neighbourhood, opened his own door with the ignition on, and still told her to alight from his vehicle. She refused and instead removed his car key from the ignition, instead of alighting as she was the only occupant in a car that had its front door opened.

He had every right to retrieve his key from a female car thief by any means necessary.

Now that he has filed a suit, let her go and defend herself in a civil court for both physical assault, emotional damages and loss of income while the driver recuperates from the assault.

I'm sure if the courts were to sentence the driver to death, Dora's would still be lying and celebrities would be supporting her SMH.... Sad!

I've watched the video several times and all I see is a case of a girl (Dorcas) who was either disappointed by her boyfriend or is having a period induced bad day, trying to take it out on an innocent driver.

The video was all acting and you could see it written all over her.

If the driver wanted to rape her, he wouldn't drive her to his gate. Driver pointed out that the pickup location was not far from his house.

If the driver wanted to rape her, he wouldn't stand in front of the door quietly urging her out. The mistake he did was to try to drag her out hence she started shouting.... We all did that when we were kids, small touch from our elder ones results in us all crying like wounded lions. Even footballers do it too. Remember that was what made Christiano Ronaldo flee from ManU. He feigned serious injury from a slight touch from Rooney during the Euros.

Dorcas and her supporters should swallow the humble pie and accept that it was all lies before this escalates higher.
Ronaldo was threatened by the English press and fans, yet he returned to the UK after the 2006 worldcup fiasco with England and Rooney.

He went on to play for 06/07, 07/08, and 08/09 seasons and won the UEFA Champions League in 2008 and Ballon D'or before he could "FLEE" as you termed it.

Yes he will see it if it was entered, but Taxify does not require a destination before it connects passenger to driver. So some don't bother putting it before making the request.

thatigboman:
says who?
I used taxify while I was in Nigeria during the Xmas period. I did not need to put in a destination before it would proceed to connect me. I believe Uber required a destination, but Taxify did not.

Secondly, whether u put a destination or not, both Uber and Taxify ENSURES that the driver does not see a passengers destination until the trip is started by the driver after pickup. This is to prevent drivers turning down trip requests made due to dislike for a certain destination.

So most drivers request to know the destination when you/they call to confirm the trip request, or when they arrive to pick the passenger before they start the trip.

In this case, I believe what the driver said was he requested to know the destination before he started the trip, or he did not see the destination after he started the trip which is possible with Taxify. So he has to proceed to ask for her destination, a request which she refused.

Infact, I rode many times on Taxify without a destination due to network or phone touchscreen hassles, such that not until I got to wherever I chose to stop before the trip recorded that location as my destination at the end of the trip.

We need to find a way to sack everyone that has ever held an elective position since 1999. Then all those who have ever been state commissioners and federal ministers. Then all who have ever been Advisers/Assistants. Then all who have ever held offices within the political parties.

We need to start on a clean slate.

LordAdam16:
First off, I think this thread is a click bait. But I may be wrong.

Even then, all of you blaming GEJ for voting PMB are being insincere.

Everyone acknowledges that GEJ tried, but could have done better. The reason why he wasn't able to do better is the system that lets corruption thrive.

But in 2015, Nigeria wanted a miracle worker. And PMB was whitewashed as a miracle worker. Nigerians have always fantasized about a strong man that would solve all our problems with a flip of a switch. That's why we always jubilated when a new coup happened in the past. Unfortunately, in spite of the serial failures, we never learn.

Now that Buhari has been demystified, you guys are asking why GEJ was not the miracle worker you guys wanted. Well, here's the newsflash. There is no miracle worker in Nigeria politics. You get the good and the bad in one package. In 2019, you'd also have to vote a corrupt individual who would get elected using corrupt money and who would protect his corrupt friends. Anything else is wishful thinking.

GEJ enacted electoral reforms, revitalized the rail, made us believe in agriculture and the possibility of food sufficiency, invested in education, increased minimum wage, designed and implemented processes to limit corruption (BVN, IPPIS, Fertilizer grants, et cetera in case you have amnesia), kept inflation rate suppressed in single-digits, just to mention a few.

You guys said that was not enough. You wanted a bigot and a core Islamist (aka, reformed democrat) who never accepted he lost elections, never improved himself in over 30 years outside of power, and who failed woefully in his first stint.

The joke is on all of you!

I leave you with GEJ's statement (attached) in 2015:

Virtually all the people you guys are pushing to replace Buhari in 2019 contested in 2015. Out of all of them, you guys chose Buhari to replace GEJ. So we've gone full circle. We're back to choosing a corrupt individual who would give us the same stable progress GEJ gave (like we've been doing since 1999), since your ill-fated experiment with your Messianic bigot didn't pan out.

For that, I say Good Morning ALL. Hopefully, you guys don't experiment with the lives of 200m Nigerians again.

Your ass licking of Jonathan knows no bounds.

Jonathan was a useless president who at a time of flourish, emptied the treasury that Obasanjo and Yar'Adua had laboured to pile up.
He was a friend and eternal patron of corruption, and never forsook corruption even while campaigning for reelection.

We all know this, even FFK knew this before he joined the Jonathan bandwagon of failure, internationally it was known, except unrepentant sycophants like you.

I repeat, how did Jonathan take us forward by impoverishing the foreign reserves?
How did he take us forward by campaigning for a continuation of corruption and an abhorrence for prosecuting and jailing those who stole huge money that was rubbished as money that cannot buy Peugeot?
How did he take us forward by not doing anything tangible on the 2nd Niger Bridge despite promising he would complete it in his 1st term?

How exactly did our treasury get emptied just to buy 2nd hand trains and build almajiri schools?

Yet we now know that funds siphoned through the ONSA could have bought us new tear rubber trains?

Olisah Metuh is still waiting for Jonathan to come testify as to how Dasuki got the bank account he personally supplied to the president for jobs he did for Jonathan and not the government of Nigeria.

How did the NIA get the funds it stored in Ikoyi that was received from the Jonathan regime?

A very useless and retarde.d president who accepted that terrorism was a way of life for Nigeria, saying it is our own time to have such problems from our family members.

Yet you remain an incurable, corrupt and bigoted caveman, who remains bitter and miserable that he lost out in having access to a corrupt government.

May your life and that of your whole family be wasted and bankrupted the way Jonathan wasted the future of Nigeria.

I leave you with Jonathan's statement while campaigning for reelection against the image that he was a useless fighter of corruption.

" How much did Jim Nwobodo stole? -money ($5.1m) not up to the price of a peugeot and Buhari regime send him to jail,is that good enough". (President Goodluck Jonathan PDP Presidential Rally, Enugu)

Buhari, like Jonathan, need to be begged, threatened and harassed to do the right thing.

However, Jonathan never hid the fact that he couldn't be bothered about corruption or fighting it. Buhari on the other hand is a hypocrite who failed the standards he self for himself.

Starting from the refusal to publicly declare his assets as promised on like Jonathan who openly said he does not give a damn as he never made such promise and that he did such action under Yar'Adua was because he was forced by his boss then.

Going on to discipline he medical trips abroad, despite castigating such when Yar'Adua was the patient, and despite making such promise during the campaign to get elected.

Just curious... you repeatedly talk of bigotry, bigotry and bigotry and now I ask you, what kind of bigotry exactly?.. is it tribal, religious, regional, political or racial bigotry?.. Only a fool needs to be told the same thing a 100 times before he gets the message; I am from the SE, I was born and raised in the SS, I am a Christian and even though I support one political party over the other, I am not a member of any political party. So once again, what kind of bigotry exactly do you refer to?... And let us just assume for one that I'm from the SW, and also assuming that the SW voted Buhari in 2015 because he picked a SWestern VP. Did the same Buhari not also pick a SWestern pastor in 2011 as his VP when he ran against the same GEJ?... What warped logic does your brain have to explain that the same SW voted GEJ/Sambo over their VP brother in 2011?

Look Lordadam or whatever you call yourself, it is exceedingly clear that you are a frustrated soul. Your frustration leads you to compulsively throw insults all over the place in every sentence you make, barking all the time like an infected attack dog looking for someone to infect. He doesn't even appreciate that like him in 2015, others also told whoever cared to listen in 2011 that Jonathan would be a failure.

Yet he still insists that the same regions that in 2015 voted out Jonathan after those same regions voted him in 2011, are bigots for realising he was a failed and useless president - a realisation he has refused to come to.

That dude is the frustrated lord of hypocrisy.

Ordinarily I wouldn't mind. But can these failures actually keep GEJ out of their rants.

They don't think they made a mistake in 2015. Why is it that every time someone says we told you so, they default to the "you're a pained 2015 loser."

Everyone lost in 2015. Because we are no better in 2018 than we were in 2015.

And when we remind them about the difficulty in dislodging Buhari with a third unknown force, they go to the "you always support losers" line.

Like WTF!

It's like on one-hand we have realists who know Nigeria is a corrupt cesspit, there are no saints in the political circle, the system is screwed beyond repair, and all we can ideally hope for are steady, measured improvements. And on the other hand there are adults with kid brains who believe the system is workable, Nigeria can be turned to el Dorado in 4 years, there are many saints in the political circle, and we can resolve our electricity problems in 6 months.

And when the realists state their opinion, we are lambasted for supporting corruption, not bold enough to want something better, or inconsequential. Yet they keep expecting the impossible.

This is Nigeria's current situation. Buhari on one hand, an agreed failure with APC a conglomeration of vipers. PDP on the other hand with wolves. And a growing third force made up of people from APC and PDP who have always been part of the problems we're facing; and who would open their hands to welcome all the so-called "corrupt Old Guard" to fund and support their ambition.

Yet these "adults with kid brains" actually think that with this arrangement, there is a saint somewhere in either of these three parties of deplorables that is not corrupt, has never been corrupt, wouldn't ever be corrupt, and if elected would not condone corruption even after being sponsored by corrupt elements and essentially riding to the seat using corrupt proceeds.

That is why they'd scream about GEJ using corrupt proceeds to fund his election and say nothing about PMB using corrupt proceeds from BAT, Amaechi, Saraki, Atiku, El-Rufai, et cetera to finance his election. Then they act so surprised that PMB is condoning the corruption by his henchmen.

And they have the effrontery to throw jabs even with their glaring hypocrisy and bigotry (my thief is better than your thief). How exactly do you expect me not to just call them what they are? ID**TS!

I've essentially asked all of them to bring one name that'd fight corruption better than GEJ, and no one has brought a name. No one.

So they hated GEJ for corruption, but don't know anyone who'd fight it better than GEJ. What do you call someone who reason like that. Please tell me?

At some point, you just have to look someone in the face and tell them they're f*cked up. I'm not going to mince words about that.

One just said he'd keep trying like he's gambling. F*king unbelievable.

-Lord
You are a pained loser, nothing more.

We that told you that Jonathan would amount to nothing in 2011, did not sit idly by when he lived up to expectations as a failure.

We challenged his government and engaged ourselves politically to return him to his village.

You on the other hand, is stuck with a belief that nobody is better than Jonathan. We employed another man to fight corruption and he has failed, and we will return him to his village also.

Your agony at losing the 2015 election is written all over your posts.

And as a corruption realist that you and many are, you are obviously benefitting from the system as it is, hence your disdain for any attempt at change.

All you have written can be summed up as: corruption is part and parcel of Nigeria, make the most of it.

It is certain that you heaved a sigh of relief when it became obvious that Buhari also did not care about fighting corrupwould

I already told you I would have fought corruption better. Nuhu Ribadu if elected in 2011, would have fought corruption and not emptied the treasury like you political lord, Jonathan.

Can we really keep Jonathan out of the political discourse concerning the 2015 election that was his sacking?

You are very very stup*d and unintelligent.

GEJ vs PMB in 2015 for the North was not about who would perform, it was about power returning to the North. They only sought Tinubu's help to make their option seem logical. It wasn't.

And whether you like it or not, you may claim to have voted for PMB because you thought he would perform (which says a lot about your silliness), but for the SW AC bloc, voting for PMB was about getting an inroad into Aso Rock.

Stop assuming all the 15 million people who voted for PMB did so because they felt PMB was better, they voted him for several reasons. There are the 12m bigots who would have voted for him even if he ran against Obama, and there are those of you who voted for him because you had the thinking capacity of a sloth, and there are those who voted for him because of the political clout, et cetera.

Get your head out of your a$$ and look at the big picture.

That's why even if a third party comes up, they'd still need a Northern candidate, none of which is better than GEJ and some of which like Kwankwaso and El-Rufai are actually worse than Buhari, to be able to dethrone Buhari.

This is Nigeria, not the US. Most people vote based on sentiments. And when you join the bandwagon effect, you are simply being used to further goals you ordinarily may not agree to. That's why as badly as Buhari has performed, he'd still get as much if not more votes in 2019 than he did in 2015.

Go to a main market in Kano and say Buhari is a disaster and try convincing them to vote against him.

M0R0N.

-Lord
And I repeat, did the SW not care about making an inroad to Aso Rock in 2011 with a Buhari/TundeBakare ticket or a Ribadu/FolaAdeola ticket, but suddenly cared about inroad in 2015?

Truth be told, it was Jonathan who won in 2011 based on ethnic and religious sentiments of the Southern Nigeria and Middle Belt electorates.

My friends and family kept on saying, let us vote him for he is a minority, he is a Christian, he had no shoes. And right there in my Yoruba populated neighbourhood in Lagos, I saw that only few of us voted Ribadu, even fewer for Buhari, while Jonathan had over 85% of the valid votes at that polling unit.

So, in 2015, the Yorubas suddenly cared about a VP position that was already on offer in 2011, and chose to sack the wonderful Jonathan?

What kind of caveman are you? Why are you so negative and afraid of the future, that you will rather continue with a present failure?

Oga, I asked you a simple question.

Who is that Nigerian politician who would prosecute his core supporters who supported and financed his election? Give me one name!

SW and NC did not sack Jonathan. A group of misfits with their heads in cloud nine ganged up to bring in a tested failure because of VP position.

Answer my question. And stop beating around the bush.

Any candidate is adjudged by his campaign, and we are not condemned to voting only notable and recycled politicians, as such we are not compelled to retain a failed incumbent just because we believe we have no alternative.

You only reason like a moronic bigot.

I already proved to you that the same dynamics that existed with buhari in 2015 also existed in 2011, yet Buhari lost.

So does it mean the people who voted due to a VP position did not know of the VP position in 2011 when they voted Jonathan over a Buhari?

Did Jonathan win/win convincingly in Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Plateau and Taraba in 2015 like he did in 2011?

Or did the North Central also vote due to a VP position?

So who is beating around the bush?

You are a moronic and partisan PDP operative, and I can only wish you more misery to the one you got in 2015.

Bigots like you pushed Jonathan till he lost. Your likes kept him passive and deceived him that he was doing well, and that all those who criticised him were just ethnic bigots.

We know how that turned out eventually.
