In my 100L, I lived in my uncle's house.

One evening, I'd placed a lighted candle on the head of the bed, lay on my stomach and was reading. Until I fell asleep.

The candle later fell forward and was leaning on a travelling bag just beside the bed's headboard. The bag was almost completely burnt, smoke had totally filled the room and because my door was shut, no one else in the house knew what was happening. What woke me up was the heat from the burning bag and not even the smoke. When I woke up I could barely breathe and my throat was sore. Yet it was the heat that woke me up and not the smoke.

I wonder what would have happened if the candle had fallen backwards onto the bed, instead of forwards as it did, onto the bag.

I started Nov 12th this year. For the earlier parts of the year, I'd been rushing to complete a building in an estate. Was on a deadline so the rush threw me into serious debts.
