An informant from Aso Villa sent an SMS to Brekete family (Human right radio) in Abuja this morning that Abba Kayri is in Abuja and not in Lagos, as against the information the Presidency gave that he is in Lagos. |
Sammy07:Diversify, diversify, Buhari refuses to diversify but he was so busy looking for crude oil in the North where he spent billions of dollars within the past 4 years. now no oil in the North and no more oil money from the South. You can have all the degrees but still be unintelligent. |
Fatima Kyari - The name rings a bell. |

We have paid some leaders for our settlements in the community — spokesperson Anxiety enveloped Ajowa Akoko in Akoko North West council area of Ondo state last weekend over the occupation of the community by over 200 Fulani herdsmen. The herdsmen reportedly invaded the community in a trailer and a truck from one of the Northern parts of the country. But the spokesperson of the herdsmen said they have settled some leaders in the communities before they decided to settle down in Ajowa. Ajowa Akoko communities have eight traditional rulers. However, some irate youths mobilised in their hundreds and protested against a plan by the herdsmen to occupy their community without notice. Recall that similar situation occurred recalled that about two years ago at Akunu and Auga Akoko in Akoko North-East council area of the state. The timely intervention of traditional rulers in the communities led by the former chairman of the state council of Obaship, the olukare of Ikare Oba Saliu Akadiri Momoh doused the tension and nip in the bud the crisis that it would have generated. Speaking with newsmen on the plan to occupy their community, the chairman Ajowa in council, the Oloso of Oso- Ajowa, Oba Clement Omoola Jimoh described the incident as embarrassing to the communities. Oba Jimoh said ” To us, the coming to the community of such large herdsmen of over 200 at a time like this is an embarrassment to us in the communities. ” We have informed the authorities and we the traditional ruler’s monarch, the elders, and the security agencies have prevailed on our youths not to take laws into their hands. Another traditional ruler in one of the affected communities, the Oluro of Uro Ajowa, Oba Tlmothy Ipinmoroti disclosed that Ajowa Akoko said the arrival of the herdsmen in the trailer and a truck was suspicious. Oba lpinmoroti noted that the communities in Ajowa “remained one of the most hospitable communities in Yorubaland but the way these herdsmen came signaled suspicion and called for caution. We are suspicious of their intentions. Also speaking on the development, the Chairman of Ajowa Akoko Community Hon Bakare Ajayi expressed fear over the occupation of the herdsmen. Ajayi pointed out that the “Ajowa community which is a gateway town needs a lot of consciousness. According to him ” our people have been battling with few herdsmen in their farms who usually use their cows to vandalise their crops. That’s not all we have also faced with security challenges such as kidnapping in this axis. He noted that ” our people needed to be security conscious as they saw in their luggage’s dangerous weapons such as axes, sharp cutlasses, and swords. However, the spokesperson of the herdsmen who identified himself as Issa Ahmed that some important indigenes in the communities collected money from them before the decision to come for settlement in the communities. Ahmed said they wouldn’t have come in the large number if there was no previous agreement with some personalities in the communities. Contacted, the Area Commander for Ikare Akoko, Razak Rauf confirmed the development but allayed the fear and anxieties of the people. Rauf said police detectives have swung into action and the matter was under investigation. As at the time of filling in this report, soldiers at the Ajowa Military checkpoint are keeping watch over the herdsmen and have not allowed them into the communities. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/12/anxiety-in-ondo-community-over-forceful-occupation-by-fulani-herdsmen/ |
J111333:The topic is hate speech bills not boko haram. That's how some sycophant Nigerians keep justifying every evil and draconian laws of this Buhari administration. If Buhari introduce unconventional and archaic laws in this 21 century, they will quickly jump to his defense and remind you how some other persons did same some decades ago. Are we retrogressing as a country or are we suppose to be making progress? |

Hotfreezer:so where is the change Buhari promised Nigerians? The problem i have with the youths in Nigeria is their continous justification of illegality. its like apprehending an armed rubber instead of him to plead for mercy, he begin to justify his actions & remind you of how the notorious armed rubber - Anini wrecked havoc in the 90's (That what he did was not comparable) I tire for this country oo. Are we suppose to be matching forward or backward? When other countries are busy building on the their progress & development, we're here retrogressing. Sigh! |

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the Republic of Benin continues to post a strong economic performance despite the closure of the country’s border with Nigeria. In a press release issued at the completion of the latest visit to Benin by an IMF Mission, the fund quoted Luc Eyraud, who led the staff team during the visit as saying that “Benin’s recent economic performance remains strong despite a less supportive external environment and the closure of the border with Nigeria. “Real GDP is expected to grow by 6.4 per cent in 2019, mostly driven by the agriculture and transport sectors. Growth should accelerate in 2020 and remain sustained over the medium term, buttressed by vigorous cotton production, construction, and port activities. “Consumer price inflation, affected by the high agriculture production, has been on a declining trend, falling by 1.4 percent in the first nine months of 2019, relative to the same period one year earlier. “It is expected to remain well below the 3.0 per cent regional ceiling in 2019 and 2020. The fiscal deficit for 2019 is estimated at 2.3 per cent of the recently rebased GDP. “Performance under the IMF-supported program has been very satisfactory so far this year. All end-June 2019 quantitative performance criteria and the end-September structural benchmark program were met.” https://www.newtelegraphng.com/2019/11/imf-benins-economy-strong-despite-border-closure/ |
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday, October 31, said he would end Cameroon’s preferential trade benefits from Jan. 1, citing what he called the country’s “persistent gross violations of internationally recognized human rights.” In a letter to the U.S. Congress, Trump said Cameroon had failed to address U.S. concerns regarding extrajudicial killings, torture and other persistent human rights violations being committed by Cameroonian security forces. “I am taking this step because I have determined that the Government of Cameroon currently engages in gross violations of internationally recognized human rights, contravening the eligibility requirements of section 104 of the (African Growth and Opportunity Act),” Trump wrote in the letter. Deputy U.S. Trade Representative C.J. Mahoney said the U.S. government remained deeply concerned about human rights violations committed by the Cameroonian government against its own citizens. “This action underscores the Administration’s commitment to upholding the human rights criteria as required in the AGOA legislation,” he said in a separate statement. Mahoney urged the government of Cameroon to work with the United States and the international community to strengthen protection of human rights under the law and to publicly hold to account those who engage in human rights violations. In order to qualify for preferential benefits under the AGOA legislation, partner countries must meet certain eligibility requirements, including not engaging in gross violations of internationally recognized human rights. They must also demonstrate continual progress toward establishing the rule of law, political pluralism, establishing internationally recognized worker rights, and the elimination of barriers to U.S. trade and investment. Sixty-five civil society organizations this week urged the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights to address serious and systematic human rights violations in Cameroon. In a joint appeal, they said violence in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions has led to 3,000 deaths over the past three years, forcing half a million people to flee their homes, and leaving over 700,000 children out of school. Cameroon President Paul Biya, who has governed for nearly four decades, is seeking to calm unrest stoked by a disputed presidential election last year and the separatist insurrection. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2019/11/donald-trump-sanctions-president-paul-biya-of-cameroon-over-the-countrys-persistent-gross-violations-of-human-rights.html |
The only reason why you are getting job offers is because there're limited jobs available to go round. In fact there's job in Nigeria. The ones available is shared among the children of the elites and the privilege few. Supply is more than demand. |
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has revealed how Russia helped Nigeria defeat the Biafra warlords during the nation’s civil war between 1967 and 1970. Buhari spoke in his speech at the Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi, Russia on Thursday. Buhari said Nigeria’s relationship with Russia began in 1960 with the old Soviet Union, saying that Russia helped Nigeria with military assistance during the civil war against the Biafran forces. “Nigeria’s relations with Russia just like the rest of Africa began during the Soviet era when diplomatic relations were first established in 1960. That relationship covered areas such as education, healthcare, solid minerals development and military assistance, especially during Nigeria’s civil war. “More recently, our partnership has extended to the oil and gas sector as well as military and technical assistance in support of our fight against Boko Haram insurgency. At this point, I would once again like to thank His Excellency, President Putin for his support, especially in the area of security. “It is my hope that through this forum, Russia and Africa will revitalize their time-tested relationship by exploring new opportunities for the collective benefit of our peoples,” he said. Buhari said since the collapse of the USSR in 1991, relations between Russia and African nations had lagged a historical levels, saying that the former Soviet Union had been a key partner of Africa, while recalling the strong support received from the former Soviet Union in Africa’s anti-colonial struggles, stressing that Africa would continue to remember this, and many other significant gestures of solidarity and support that shaped history as a continent. He added that in an increasingly changing world driven by trade, technology and innovation, the time had come to inject new energy and pragmatism in Africa-Russia relations for the mutual benefit of both Africa and Russia, emphasising that this mutually beneficial relationship must go beyond trade and business. “Our re-energised partnership must also address challenges such as counter-terrorism, poverty eradication, human and drug trafficking, illicit financial flows, climate change and migration to mention some of the many contemporary challenges facing our peoples. “Our continent is rich in human and natural but is lagging behind in capital and technology. This is why we see increased conflict, migration and instability that is also impacting many nations outside Africa. On our part, we in Africa have continued to view Regional Integration as a key development priority. Our integration is one that seeks to address our infrastructure deficit, conflicts and terrorism, climate change, human trafficking and of vitality, trade. “Our integration process also takes into account our diversity as a continent and our unique challenges at the national and sub-national levels. This is why progress has been slow but steady. With a population of over 1.2 billion people, for us in Africa, getting our socio-economic integration right presents enormous opportunities as we stand to promote robust, equitable and inclusive growth that will minimize conflict and enhance economic development. “Today, these aspirations are captured in the Agenda 2063 of the African Union. We are confident that with strong partners like Russia, our goal of having a peaceful and prosperous continent is achievable. Nigeria is the largest economy and most populous country in Africa. Today, our population is almost over 200 million people. It is expected to grow to approximately 400 million by 2050. This will make Nigeria the third most populous nation in the world behind China and India. “Our economy is heavily dependent for its foreign exchange on oil. With the result that our high Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is not as a result of domestic sector productivity. In the circumstances, although we still remain an oil dependent nation, our government in the last four years has focused on diversifying our economy by supporting key job creating sectors such as agriculture, mining and ICT,” he stated. To achieve this, Buhari explained that the nation invested aggressively in infrastructure development and introduced policies and programmes that enhanced ease of doing business, reduce corruption in the public sector and enforce the rule of law. “It is this inclusive economic diversification agenda that we want to forge a new Nigeria-Russia cooperation. Already, we are seeing progress in areas of power generation, solid minerals development and rail transportation and I hope this will be expanded to Agriculture, Manufacturing and other means of Transportation. “We already have over 200 Nigerian university students in Russia benefitting from Russian Government scholarships which have been on-going since 1960. Earlier this year, Nigeria signed a Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) with Russia which will expand the human capital development support we are already receiving,” he said. https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2019/10/24/how-russia-helped-nigeria-defeat-biafra-during-civil-war-buhari/ |
so all the diplomatic effort by Buhari with the South African govt, they discountenanced it. Buhari should take a decisive action against them. |

*Asks the party to stop daydreaming of a one-party state, third term The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, Monday, carpeted the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, over the statement credited to the party, Sunday, that Nigeria lacked opposition and was drifting towards a one-party state. The coalition, in a statement, Monday, said the ruling party statement was borne out of frustration that it leaked its plan to alter seniority in the Supreme Court justices that will preside over the appeal between candidates of the APC and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Muhammadu Buhari, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. In a statement by its spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere, Monday, CUPP said it noted what it called “the uncharitable words used by the party’s spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, in describing the CUPP which has remained a thorn in the flesh of the APC government whose sole agenda is to subdue the legislature, judiciary, the media, opposition members and those it feels makes it accountable.” The coalition’s statement read in full:” Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has read a statement credited to the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Nigeria under its government is becoming a one-party state. “We also note the uncharitable words used by the party’s spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, in describing the CUPP which has remained a thorn in the flesh of the APC government whose sole agenda is to subdue the legislature, judiciary, the media, opposition members and those it feels makes it accountable. “The party’s outburst against opposition parties did not come to us as a surprise. The APC has shown that it is pained by CUPP’s recent exposure of its plan to alter the seniority tradition of selecting Supreme Court justices who sit on presidential election appeal, hence the outburst. “The attack by the APC is part of the party’s failed evil agenda to turn Nigeria to a one-party state and to get a third term for President Muhamadu Buhari. “We want the APC to know that this unwarranted attack will not deter us from continuing to expose all the evil plans of this government. “We advise the party to forget this evil agenda because they will not materialize in Nigeria. “Nigerians will not allow enemies of the country to build a Museveni or Paul Biya country here. They should stop their daydreaming. “We also ask the party, since it claimed it has no opposition, to settle down and fix Nigeria. This is the least Nigerians expect from them. Or are they blaming their supposed lack of opposition as the cause of their woeful performance?” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/10/apc-frustrated-over-our-leakage-of-their-plan-on-atikus-appeal-―-cupp/ |
cyrilamx:This so-called attack on CUPP did not emanate from the supreme court of Nigeria headed by Tanko. If you look closely you'll see the trademark and where its coming from. Such a statement from the Apex court will be on all the mainstream media & other notable online news not some 'politicsnigeria.com.' Nigerians are just too gullible. |
Leaders of the five countries that constitute permanent members of the United Nations Organization (UNO) Security Council – the United States of America (USA), France, the United Kingdom (UK), China and Russia have resolved to make a stunning appointment from Nigeria that many stakeholders in the polity perceived to ridicule President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The stakeholders in their perceptions ridiculed the Nigerian President and the ruling APC that such high profile global appointment is being proposed on a man they have so despised since they succeeded him in 2015; more essentially, with no contribution from the Nigerian government. Reports indicate that the US, UK, France, Russia and China, in collaboration with the UN have arranged to appoint the former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the U.N. Global Crises Envoy. Reports further indicated that the international job is isomorphic to the role assigned to Tony Blair after leaving office as UK Prime Minister. Blair appointed Middle East Envoy for the UN, European Union (EU), US and Russia. The intended appointment for the former Nigerian President was, however, identified to be a little higher than that of the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in that Jonathan is being assigned a broader role across the entire international system. Reports also indicated that former President Jonathan would be the first African former President to be appointed into such global job. The appointment is widely being celebrated to reflect fulfilled destiny of a man who started from university Lecturer to Commissioner in a state Government; from Commissioner to Deputy Governor, from Deputy Governor to Governor, from Governor to Vice President, from Vice President to Acting President and from Acting President to President. Now, from President to a World Leader! https://nationaldailyng.com/world-leaders-ridicule-buhari-offer-jonathan-global-appointment/ |

netpro:On one hand you claimed it is because Aircrafts uses kerosene that's why the price is beyond the reach of the common man. Now its inflation that necessitated the increase by 10.8%. Mr. universal concept, which one we go come believe now? |
netpro:abeg see excuse. So when kerosene was sold for 50 Naira in 2013, Aircrafts were using water? |
fyneguy:Stop fuel subsidy and subsidize food. Its better that way. Man way dey hungry no know Next level policy o. |
fyneguy:Why won't govt subsidize local rice to sell for 8K to 9K so that rice won't become a gold to the common man in Nigeria. If subsidize it will discourage smuggling and at same time encourage local farmers. |
It won't be a bad idea if WAEC roll out the real state by state analysis of results to encourage a healthy competition amongst States. It will be a win-win situation for the students. |
