Nice one.
Maybe I should organize an online cooking class for some guys so that they can learn how to cook on their own.

Our people keep comparing themselves to the western world.
They have their ways and we have our beautiful culture... and our culture is our identity.
We lose culture, we've lost ourselves.

The day we stop measuring ourselves using them as a standard, is the day we gain total EMANCIPATION!
I hear you bro but just leave this your culture for naija if you plan to adapt in the western world.
RomanceRe: Can You Date A Lady Who Cannot Cook? by Toks2008(m): 8:38pm On Feb 27, 2019
NwanyiAwkaetiti:
So you guys will other food everyday?

The west also had a time when women were taught how to cook and please their men only. Infact they couldn't even met a man without a chaperone. So calm down.
Sis take it or leave it...only a myopic guy will say he can't marry a lady who can't cook in the western world.

Everybody is busy and you don't expect one house help to come home and start cooking for you not when you are even involved in interracial marriage.

It is only a plus if the lady loves cooking but you can't force it.

And you don't need to order food. You can cook a month's meal in one day and store in the freezer to eat whenever you want.

NwanyiAwkaetiti:
How many of you lads can actually be patient enough to be with a lady who cannot cook but willing to learn? People are so quick to break relationships these days over little things.
For example when my dad(God bless his soul) met my mom, she didn't even know how to make ordinary pap but he didn't judge her or push her away, instead he taught her everything he knows.
If someone you actually like is lagging in an area, you complement them. Too bad most relationships now are based on selfish interests with very weak bond.

So before you leave that lady because she can't cook, Think twice.
Lol! This is a perfect naija based question.

In the western world they will laugh at you.

Anyways I use to have this mindset but not anymore...

I can marry a lady who can't even boil egg.

The worst. Do you know what the lure of second term does to politicians. It makes them work small. Then you tell them to do single 6 year term. No development then. Single term in any country will not work. Even in usa and uk. Infact tell me a country that does single term rule.
This is not USA or U.K.

Perculiar measures are needed for perculiar countries like Nigeria.

This will discourage stuntedness in productivity.

Rigging becomes an obsession for those who want to remain in power but once they know they have just one term, rigging will become less attractive.

How many advanced democracies practice a single tenured system?
The exclusive lists is quite enormous and hardly would much be done across the geopolitical zones in a short period of 6yrs.
We could begin by blocking leakages & bogus overheads until restructuring takes the front burner. Although, I admire your optimism.
Nigeria is a perculiar country where people cling to power as if it is their birthright.

Gej proposed it but PDP senators rejected his idea. Although Gej might have proposed it with the intent of reducing the cost of governance but the timing of it was equally questioned.
How could you have flown such a kite going into an election in which you potentially had an undue advantage of extending your tenure to two terms of 12 years having previously spent a first tenure of six years.
It was seen of him, rightly so, as being greedy, selfish, malicious and a power hungry lout.

As lofty as the idea, we aren't ripe for such a strange democratic experiment.
If it fails, there will be catastrophic multiplier effects much more as a two term tenure of 8years hasn't solved quite much.
I honestly don't see it fail but on the contrary I believe it will strengthen our democracy.
PoliticsRe: Opinion; 6 Years Single Term For Elective Political Offices In Nigeria. by Toks2008(op):
If you think a 6 year single term is more ideal click like and if you think the two term of 4 years is better click share.

Enough of this baseless waste of money and resources.

If we add up all the money spent on INEC alone we will understand the huge waste.

We can make it happen if we push the idea strongly. We are the voice of the nation.
PoliticsOpinion; 6 Years Single Term For Elective Political Offices In Nigeria. by Toks2008(op): 12:46pm On Feb 27, 2019
I strongly believe it's high time the legislators considered a 6 year single term for the office of the president and all other elective political offices in Nigeria because in most cases the power of incumbency usually plays out at the end against the opposition political parties

This will avoid waste of time and money for other aspirant who may want to unseat the present government and will also give the present government an urgent sense of productivity knowing they have just one term to rule.

If we all look at the millions of dollars spent by the opposition parties and even the ruling party in the just concluded general election and the fact that the same sum if not more will be expended in another 4 years, i strongly believe its not worth the waste. I believe all the huge sums will go a long way in developing the country directly or indirectly. Not forgetting the waste of lives and properties all in the bid for incumbents to clinch on power.

So what do you think?

I have said it in the past and I will say it again, it is ironic that one of the three major tribes in Nigeria is the least relevant politically. They rant night and day on cyberspace but choose to remain foolish by eating Nkwobi on election day. Rather than hurl insults at themselves, they are crying over Osun and Northern votes.

Atiku was hoodwinked by the South East, Saraki, Dankwambo and Rabiu Kwankwanso. The Yorubas have proven to be the political elite in all of these. The result of the PDP in the South West is unexpected and an indication that the party would have staged a shocking upset had the South East turned up enmasse.

Kanu has been quiet in all of these because he has cashed out cleanly by stoking the fire of the mythical Biafra. Whoever in the APC suggested that Kanu be released from captivity just months before the elections is a genius. He did his work and he did it perfectly well!

You guys will have more Nkwobis to eat in four years. Nonsense!
Don't mind them...they are mostly E warriors who will not allow us rest on social media but on election day they will rarely come out.

I'm still amazed that Atiku/ obi won in any SW states and this is a sure proof that we Yorubas have a mind of our own.

Trust me, if you give Igbos BIAFRA, they will still mess things up.

PoliticsRe: You Must Accept Defeat. PDP To Buhari. by Toks2008(m): 6:48am On Feb 24, 2019
baliyubla:
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop whining over their “rejection” in the presidential election and quietly accept the will of the people.

The party said the APC and agents of the Buhari Presidency, were bewildered by defeat and thus plotting to discredit the votes which the opposition party sad Nigerians freely delivered to its candidate, Atiku Abubakar at their polling units.

A statement last night by the spokesman for the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said part of alleged plot is to trigger mayhem and burn down Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in order to destroy all evidence of poll results.

The statement said, “The PDP reminds President Buhari and the APC that the polling unit is the foundation of the election and all our agents and supporters already have the results in all the polling centers and voting points across the country.

“As such, our party is holding strongly to our results as already delivered by the people at the polling units and such cannot be altered.

“The PDP, therefore, counsels President Buhari and his APC to respect the will of the people and accept the verdict of the election. It is not for President Buhari to direct his campaign spokesperson to tell Nigerians that no party should rejoice.

“For us in the PDP, we already have the figures and we are aware that Nigerians in their resolve and consensus have settled their votes in favour of the people’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as the next President of our country.
7
“President Buhari should be prepared to take his defeat in good faith. After all, he will not be the first sitting President to lose in an election”.
