Everyday we complain how there are husband scarcity and how the number of spinsters keeps skyrocketing when we know clearly the reason for this occurrence. Marital rights of many ethnic groups in Nigeria is high and many struggling bachelors are finding hard to afford it. How do they expect someone who has 500k capital for instance to fund matrimonial rites that could cost him 300k. A money that might have took him years to save up goes just like that?

I even find it foolish for a guy with a 2million net worth to spend up to 500k for a wedding. Heck, it's just a day ceremony why not save up when the kids start come up. Go to a marriage registry and we'd there. It's cheap and serves same purpose of a marriage.

I just got employed to work in a startup sub-company(formed as a result of diversification) that is leveraging on her parent company(an engineering firm). The sub-company is into eCommerce and I am the only software guy handling the platform using opensource. I feel I am not really learning anything new, I code less and besides the company is yet to make her first sales. We are still putting things in place with the support of the parent company. The job is on the mainland and I stay on the mainland. The fear is that i will be under pressure especially if sales are not coming in

While trying to settle down, an IT firm came calling. I kept posting them by delaying my resumption date but they want me on board as soon as possible. As a matter of fact, they want me to start next week. I even tried to renegotiate salary even though both salaries are almost the same. They are offering to make me undergo a 6 months training in advance programming during my probation period. Its a place for me to learn more and is inline with my career ambition considering my degree and the fact that I love programming. The bad side is that the job is on the island and I will spend more. Its an already established firm with headquarter in usa. While the former is just starting out, but her parent company also has offices in usa and uk and are ready to patronize the sub company.

I plan to start my masters(full-time) in unilag very soon which is inline my the latter. shuffling the masters programme with island will be a bit difficult than on the mainland.

What do you advise?

I guess you are afraid of the enterprenural demands of the first one but why i will say yes to the second is because you believe its in line with your vision and aspiration so go for the second one.

Nope its not about you requesting but in some eastern part,a list(including bride price) can cost as high as over 1million and this is no joke and even for those who claim there own is not like that it will interest you to know that the list alone can go as high as 400k and as i will always say, this is no big deal if the money is available because i can spend millions on a lady i love but at the same time, these greedy elders and family members must understand that many of their daughters are been ignored because of this madness.

This is why i wrote that if they can reduce the bride price and the list to be around 200k generally and any man who wants to go beyond that is free to do so then we will see less of unmarried beautiful and decent igbo ladies above 30yrs.

Good morning guys.. I've been burdened with this so I decided share.

My best friend's been engaged to her fiance for over six months now and they intend on getting Married soon.

Now the thing is even before they were engaged and still dating, I and her fiance were very close friends to the extent of him coming to me whenever they had a fight for advice which I did give him with with no negative thoughts. .

Now just last week, he came to my place all drunk and wasted. I know him and I know he doesn't drink so I knew something bad happened. In his drunken state I tried asking him what the matter was but he wouldn't tell. Few minutes later he was dosing off on my couch and woke up an hour later as he was back to his senses. I served him food to eat since he was hungry and then asked him again what the matter was to have made him gotten himself drunk.

The next thing I knew was him going on his knees and telling me stuff like ; he made a mistake in dating my friend and it was me he really loved. That he had loved me from day one but didn't have the guts to tell me cuz of my friend and that he was fed up with my friend and now sincerely wants me to be his and be the only one in his life.

Guys am really confused as I don't know what to do now. . I sent him out of the house telling him I was gonna think about it but I know I shouldn't have told him that but sent him out rightly out.

I was allured in opening this thread after hearing the unfortunate story of, now should I say the guy or the lady? ..

A guy (Name withheld) had been dating and even proposed to this friend of mine, although we're not that close.

Now all who knew her was happy for her when we heard she got engaged to the guy though we kinda knew the guy as the player kind,

Everything was going smoothly between them up until last week when as fate would have it, she had gone to visit him at his home when behold, she caught him stark unclad in bed with another lady..

Furious but outwardly calm, she demanded an explanation, but rather surprisingly to her dismay, the other lady stood up, claiming she was the guy's fiancee and who the hell was my friend to her man.. . .

My friend (heartbroken) calmly composed left the house but she came back, oh she came back and much to my delight to the guy's house some hours later with some bouncers, unfortunately or fortunately for the other lady she was not around as the bouncers ruffled up "Mr player" bad and I mean bad to the extent that when they left, the guy's neighbors had to rush him to the hospital..

Now guys, what do you earn/gain from being a player? I mean, why can't you guys just stick to one lady, rather than jumping around chasing and breaking hearts anyhow, and the troubling part of it all is how you guys trap a lady with the "Engagement" stunt. She drops her guard down and opens her heart and body for you thinking you're the one right for her only to later discover how many other girls you say that to everyday..

I have always reiterated that cheating on a lady is not juxtaposed to lack of love or affection for her from the guy but this is one area i will always have problems with ladies understanding.

I have never cheated on any lady i have ever been with and i don't ever pray to cheat on my lady BUT ITS NOT BECAUSE OF THE LOVE I HAVE FOR HER BUT FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST.

A man can love you and willing to even die for you yet he can still cheat on you with a pepper seller.

I think every lady should just pray to meet a man that loves GOD as well as have the spirit of GOD in him because it is only a man who fears GOD and has the indwelling of the Holy spirit that will not cheat on his woman.

Another reason why i think i remain faithful sexually to one lady is hinged on the fact that i always go for a lady that im visually satisfied with.
