You'll be required to get an affidavit stating you want to change your old phone number to a new one.

You will make the required payment (Less than 1k when i did mine) for edit of phone number to NIMC on remita portal.

Then you'll update your info at the NIMC office.
PoliticsRe: Fire Service Workers To Start Carrying AK-47, Other Firearms by tosinet(m): 10:53am On Jul 04, 2021
This just shows the level of incapacity of our police. No need to be arming fire services, FRSC and likes when we have trained police for such. We will soon arm ambulances, waste management, revenue collectors etc at the rate we're going. It is in the purview of the police to respond to such emergencies to maintain orderliness and provide security.

FRSC, fire service, EFCC and likes are supposed to be departments in the police formation.

The police should be equipped and directed to also respond to such emergencies to provide cover for efficient service delivery.

dederocs:
Every sane, progressive or successful person, knows Ibos will loose more. Economics is mainly a game of numbers, you need the Nigerian market of 230million people, which Ibos are about 30million, on average. If violent separation occurs, they will be beef and hatred, those access will be blocked.
So by your argument, it's only Nigerians Igbos can sell or buy goods and services to/from. Is it only Nigerians the the present Nigeria is selling it's goods and services to?
PoliticsRe: Okorocha: 'Igbos Will Lose More If Nigeria Breaks Up' by tosinet(m): 5:44pm On Jun 20, 2021
I've not seen any substantial argument that show the benefits of Nigeria remaining a single entity, just sentiments.
So because igbos have properties outside their homeland, they'll lose such properties if Nigeria should break-up? Are Nigerians not owning properties in other countries?
What benefits does the average person enjoy in Nigeria with our population of more than 200 million compared to many European countries Nigerians escape to today?

PoliticsRe: Garba Shehu: Twitter Suspension Has Reduced Spread Of Fake News By PDP Governors by tosinet(m): 9:37am On Jun 17, 2021
Some common factors with genocidal governments are clampdowns on sources of information claiming they are tackling fake news, another is usage of poverty to bottle the will of the populace so as to push their agenda unchallenged, another is the mindless blockage of sources of income and deprivation of people's livelihood and rights as was done with locking up of palliatives, state sponsored criminality and impunity, forceful clampdowns and sanctions on any dissenting views.

The worst are the blind 'followers' that want to believe that all is well even with clear writing of happenings on the wall. The unfortunate thing is that their eyes will only open when about to be swept away with no way-out.

This happened to me. My sim got lost and I tried severally to retrieve it but with different levels of bottleneck, I had to forget the sim and get a new one. Now, in the cos of login into NIN mobile app, it was showing my old line and out of curiosity I tried the number and someone answered it.
This is a number I have used on several platforms as my security backup number, I contacted customer care and there response was that after a period of 12 months of non-usage, such inactive lines are usually reallocated and sold.
PoliticsRe: Governors Rooting For State Police Are Inviting Anarchy – IGP by tosinet(m): 7:36am On May 21, 2021
So if the IGP sees that the governors' aim for the request for state police is to tackle their political opponents, shouldn't he rather with his knowledge of best practices around the world in the setting up of state/local govt/community police structures be suggested and proposed?

Case studies of best policing structures will show how to successfully set it up in such a way it will eliminate the possibility of abuse.

BusinessRe: CBN Shuts Down Cryptocurrency Exchange Bank Accounts by tosinet(m): 6:21am On Feb 06, 2021
The govt have been working sleeplessly on finding way to lock down and gag the younger generation since the endsars protest.

Accounts of individuals were frozen arbitrarily even before rushing to get a court to back their action.

We've been having security challenges for years now and no action on tracing of these criminals but what's the govt's response to voice of dissent from the masses, the govt suddenly woke up from siesta that all sim numbers must be linked to NIN to enable monitor calls.

Much of the international financial support towards this movement came through the use of crypto currency, hence the sudden response to prohibit banks from carrying out financial transactions linked to crypto currency.

Watch out for more govt/politician's moves to keep the masses under lock and bondage. Part of which includes summary arrests, govt backed impunity from forces, govt backed insurrection and criminality.

Govt that has no response to all manners of criminality perpetrated by the emboldened herdsmen suddenly woke up to outlaw self defense against these criminals. I know if pushing comes to shove, the military will overthrow the edited democracy we currently operate.
CrimeRe: FSARS Personnel To Be Issued Guns Only When Responding To Violent Crimes by tosinet(m): 6:52am On Oct 06, 2020
As it should be!

FSARS, SARS, ANTI CULTISM SQUAD and all other tactical police units are not regular police that should be issued personal firearms or seen routinely patrolling.

They are supposed to be seen only when responding to high level crimes based on call for backup and getting the green light of the appropriate police authority.

Tactical units are specially trained usually with superior firearms and more specialized weapons to respond to high level crimes that can't be handled by regular police. They are usually on standby just like the fire service that'll be called upon when needed.

Govt alone can't be the regulator and the only operator in the rail industry.
PoliticsRe: Citizens Must Defend Fundamental Rights by tosinet(m):
The current set of youths we have now are weaklings that can't be trusted with anything responsibility. I'm talking about the majority the youths in their late 20s to 30s.

At the height of military rule, the generation of youths before us i.e those that are now btw 45-55years, who were mostly students then, stood against any form of oppression.

I can still remember the impasse between University of Ibadan students with the military boys. What of OAU students that said a military administrator or someone like that will not enter their campus and they stood their ground.

These are the same set of people that are presently taking action against oppression today and are challenging institutions that are abusing their authority...saving our a**es by getting us Justice. When these institutions now use force to shut them down, what do we have? Youths laughing with glee at their misfortune.

SARS will stop a bus that is carrying students and start harassing one of them, and the others will leave him/her there without knowing the fate of the individual. Other commuters will be passing by averting their eyes.
Don't think it can't be worse than this, cos it actually will if nothing is done.

It's in human nature to want to put others under oppression, but it is the people that will resist such acts in it's whatever form.

NB: Ethnicity, Religious intolerance are all tools and tactics of divide and rule that have been perfected over the years to keep the masses in perpetual bondage.

The idea is if you can't see eye to eye with your fellow citizen because of their ethnicity and religious beliefs, definitely you can't agree on any meaningful issue that'll change the lives of the citizenry.
Science/TechnologyRe: Architect Ibechile Egwudale Commences Fabrication Of Metals Into Machineries by tosinet(m): 7:46am On Aug 09, 2020
He must have had a technical training background. The technical education trains you to be hands-on.

The technical education level is the most important level of education that should be our focus as a nation at this point in time.

If you notice, tertiary institution students and graduates are being asked and forced to learn a technical level skill, graduates are being subjected to program like N-power, which is a technical education level program.

The result of these shortcut solutions have been abysmal, with little impact being made. All our manufacturing factories, constructions sites, service centers are still being majorly ran by foreigners as we don't have the required skills.
Only unskilled labour and artisan jobs are reserved for Nigerians.

We can't create local solutions to our avalanche of problems in the different fields of our lives.

Why not create the right solution by placing the technical education at it's proper level which should be after secondary education.

Technical education can be introduced at the higher secondary school which will guide the students on the next part to take.

Students that are discovered to be talented and doing great in practical physics fields like engineering- mechanical operation and fabrications... should not have to continue with say biology...

Each student should be guided to work to his/her strengths and talents.
On graduation, technical education should be made compulsory for all secondary school leavers.

Presently, we are producing thousands if not millions of secondary school leavers who will not gain admission directly into tertiary institutions. These population can be directed to the technical schools as the training is more hands-on.

There's no single individual that does not have at least a talent. It's the duty of the nation to provide the enabling ground for such talents to develop and thrive.

Nigerians only want free stuff... Like China building the rail supplying the coaches training people all on loan and later when we default on paying them we beg like Obasanjo did for debt cancelation
We are always looking for shortcuts and fast routes, these joined with selfish interests will not take us out of the quagmire we currently find ourselves in.

The same thing is happening every part of our endeavors as a nation; talk of education, security, health, built environment etc.

We always want the fast routes instead of seating down and workout real solutions to our issues.

PoliticsRe: If You Were The President Of Nigeria, How Would You Make Nigeria Better? by tosinet(m): 3:08pm On Jun 13, 2020
Living Standards.

Governance should start at the lowest level (in the real sense),from community level to local govt level to state level and to national level. All class of residence should be stakeholders and contribute to the functionality and development of their society.

Every citizen and resident should be identified and accounted for. All community leadership should have the database of their dwellers at all times. All landlords, business and services owners, employers are mandated to request for and forward the details of identity of their tenants and workers to the respective security base in their locality for proper documentation and accountability.

All infrastructure and amenities needed at a community should be uniquely suggested, debated and agreed upon. Such decisions will be forwarded to the local government planning bodies, who will also forward it to the state level for proper consideration and incorporation into state masterplan.

Each resident in a community will contribute in cash and kind to ensure the security, development, maintenance etc. of dwellers and public facilities in such community with regulatory body put in place to ensure compliance with agreed standards.

National, State, local government, community based solutions to their unique challenges to ensure minimum set living standards are met.

Currency
Removal of N1000, N500, N200 denominations from circulation. All transactions that exceeds N5000 should be done electronically.

Education
Restructuring the current curriculum to include beginner level technical training in all fields at the senior secondary schools.

Also, secondary school leavers should graduate into technical level schools in all fields including; technology, research, sciences, arts, sports etc. based on their talented areas being monitored and noted at their various secondary schools. This, I have noted is the most important level of education that we have relegated presently in Nigeria.

Entry Requirements into universities from secondary schools level will/may be increased to allow exceptional students that have managed to acquire and surpassed technical level training, enter straight from secondary school into universities.

Scholarship will be offered from technical and other higher level schools to top graduating students to encourage and reward excellence.

Security
Creation of security outfits and networks at all level with approval from people's representatives, establishing hierarchy and jurisdiction.
Regulatory bodies at all security level to ensure standards are met.

It's a Committee report, the Gov might decide to tweak it.
I also really doubt if someone who have co-habited with you that long can change overnight.
This is a wrong assertion that such person can't change overnight. Living his whole life in an area does not simply imply he may not be sympathetic to the course of his own people.

Lagos State House of assembly is trying to set a bad precedent that'll ultimately negate the idea behind amotekun.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: FG Orders The Recruitment Of Constables For Community Policing by tosinet(m): 4:01pm On Jan 26, 2020
sapientia:
Master stroke by the clueless FG.

But its welcomed.

An institution like Police have turned to terrorists just because they were given guns, imagine untrained civilians.

Shebi governors have always pretended to love state police, now is the time to achieve it.

They should simply bring up their own framework for community policing hinged on State police.

I will never support any region having a security outfits. The disadvantages will far outweigh the advantages.
The reason the NPF has gone rogue is not because of the guns given to them but rather the failure of their leadership who they report to in making them accountable...the community police being organized by the NPF will also bring bad results as we are having now where impunity is the order of the day.

While NPF should have overall jurisdiction and hierarchy, the state/ community policing should be under the purview of the state/ local government with there actions regulated by state commissions.

Nobody is against community or state policing but there must be laws that establishes it and it's only the national assembly that can pass that laws.
That’s the reason amotekun will still be operating as an organized network of vigilante groups(Agbekoya,OPC,...etc).
The ultimate goal will be to restructure and decentralize some aspect of governance .

PoliticsRe: Nuclear Power Stations In Kogi, Akwa Ibom Can Wipe Out Nigerians, Others by tosinet(m): 4:36pm On Dec 09, 2019
Reference:
Solar can actually. A space just 900 hectres can match the total capacity of all our present plants combined if filled with PV panels. Just 25 percent of the Sahara desert can supply the power required on earth.

I am all for renewables. The problem with solar is the 14 hours of sub-optimal sunlight. Storage is prohibitively expensive so nuclear can bridge the gap at night and relax during the day.
Solar Energy and Wind/water turbines can be incorporated to reduce expenses on storage
