all,
pls scan 3924 H 2894 on NSS703 C-Band for TV Oromiyaa,Ethiopia.
Has anyone tried scanning Daarsat lately?they have added Oghene ndigbo to their line-up.the question is can we pick it with non-HD receivers even if it will not give visuals?I tried their frequencies,I couldnt pick the signal.

Sambass,
you have started again. Can you be specific?the satellite there is intel 904 on 60*East with no frequency as u suggested.I remember how you came up with ur Skysports report, and defiantly refused to give details even after prodding you several times.I think the moderator needs to come up with a reprimand.Enitan, pls take over this issue.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by toxnaija: 5:05pm On Apr 23, 2009
all,
with all these bad reports about Nilesat all over Nigeria,I think I would have to leave my 3m fibre dish the way it is.the parameters were okay when it was installed and realligned by Adewest in January.Definitely, the bulk of the problem is from the space I think.I use a fuji lnb,re-tightened all the nuts, washed off the dust on the dish surface, and checked the scalar.I was able to drag out Showsports only at night and early morning.even CNN came out for about one hour in the night.
Pls can anyone rescan and confirm for the reappearance of AB4a(MBC Persia,OK,Euronews) as reported by Satcoper from Mali.

graciousme,
I am really sorry that I slept off.I had a very tight schedule recording all over Lagos.I will call tonight.

Satcoper,
what size of dish, and type of lnb do u use?Do you pick showsport/cnn?regards.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by toxnaija: 8:23pm On Apr 22, 2009
Butoneday,
I copy you.But what can I do about the dish?I used to pick showsports at 52/54% before the rains came but now,I struggle to achieve 46/48%.I have tried all I can but I am careful about scattering the allignment.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by toxnaija: 5:22pm On Apr 22, 2009
graciousme,
I tried getting you on phone but it seems you were asleep.I will try again tonight.Pls dont try to do any climbing.I hope you have gotten the name of the lnb.

all,
did you observe that jsc+1-4 was having problems at the weekend?

George-D,
what exactly do I need to tweak in the dish?I was able to drag out the weakest signal of CNN.I am being careful so that I dont scatter the whole allignment.I will like to know the exact problem?can you get the focal length of your dish measured?I want to compare it with mine.It is also another factor I want to consider with the welder.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by toxnaija: 11:31pm On Apr 21, 2009
chuks,
I'm really sorry about ur brother.I was at a friend's place today and met her autistic brother.the 20 year-old guy was barking like a dog at a point.I couldnt hold back the years.Iwept bitterly as I couldnt hold it.Their dad was a successful diplomat before he died some years back leaving them dry. Please take solace in the fact that he has gone to rest. Was he ill?

George/all,
I will try the copper to copper cable. But it seems there is a general signal drop everywhere.I was able to drag out CNN and Showsports yesternight at 11pm.But they ran away after one hour.I think the problem has to do more with the EIRP.I washed away the dust on my 3m fibre dish and adjusted the base to be able to drag out the difficult signals but they are very inconsistent.I hope to try the copper stuff this weekend.I have lost MBC Persia and the other ab4 stations.I hope they get back soon.
All members should please give reports on Nilesat's performance in their location.Abeokuta is having serious problemswith Cnn/Showsports.It now comes up only at about 10pm and 6am-9am.what do you experience?
I think the fuji lnb with srew is what we all have.About 5 members have confirmed that.where are you-badaru,vickoy,mide2008,arsenal,onye-ngbu,etc?

Osef,
all the sirius tps didnt work for me.what's gwan?

Twinstaiye,
congrats.pls keep Enitan and other scavengers(gbomogbomo-cradle snatchers)away.

Enitan,
mastur-wetin?I go run for you ooooo.I think say fishes plenty for u.I like your paradox/satire on sambass who refused to tell us how he got Skysports.pls holla me now.i wan discuss some important river issues with you.

Olofofo,
how far with your Invacom?what is your take on copper-copper cable?can we get it at Alaba or elsewhere?where is nurse?
Politics / Governor Babatunde Fashola-is He An Angel? by toxnaija: 10:54pm On Apr 21, 2009
Please read this from Segun Odegbami, and you would marvel at BRF's benevolence.I had the same experience from BRF last year.Enjoy it-

Peter Fregene Walks Again!

“Within weeks of intervening the Lagos State governor contacted his Delta State counterpart, sent a medical team to Sapele, and flew Peter Fregene to Lagos. Peter was admitted straight into probably the best and most expensive hospital in Nigeria, the Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos, where sophisticated tests revealed what had been wrong with Peter for years undetected. He underwent some very delicate surgery involving his spinal cord and within days Peter’s 8 year ordeal found relief.”

have written twice about him in recent months. When I did, I did not have the complete picture. Now I do, but that’s not why I am writing about him again this week. I am doing so now because I am a witness to a story I must tell!

He has been in and out of hospitals for eight years. In all those years he lay on his back unable to walk, with a speech impediment and severe stomach spasms that wracked his body in excruciating pain several times every day. Three  years ago, so bad was his condition that rumours spread that he was dead and many of those who had been close to him and had witnessed his pain-full existence  heaved a sigh of relief, until they discovered later that he was still alive and was still living in his ‘hell’.  In the past four months I have been very close to the new developments on his condition. Last week, during the Easter break, I went to visit him not having seen him since I travelled abroad four weeks ago. I saw him and was so happy at what I saw that I sought his permission to write his full story. He agreed. This is it as narrated to me by his beautiful wife, Tina, who had stood by him every minute of the past eight years!

His ordeal started one dark morning in Warri, Delta State, on October 22, 2001. Peter returned home from training his team, and went into the bathroom to take his bath as usual. It was a long ear-piercing sound coming from the bathroom a few minutes later that gave the first indication that something terrible had happened to him. His wife rushed into the bathroom and found her husband sprawled on the floor, screaming in pain and holding on to his two legs. The healthy man that had walked on his two feet into his bathroom had to be carried out, and for eight years after that he could not walk again!

With the help of the children Peter was carried to the seating room where, not knowing what else to do, Tina applied some ointment they had at home to his legs and massaged them. The family had assumed it was a temporary thing that would go away after a few days with rest and massage.

How wrong they were. As the days went by his condition worsened and Tina was advised by friends and family members to take him to native doctors in his village believing that his case could only be due to some spiritual attack. That’s how his torturous journey to hell began.

From November 2001 to June 2002 he remained in the village receiving all manner of traditional treatments that did nothing to alleviate his condition. Then his long-term employers, NEPA FC, intervened by sending a doctor to see him. The club wanted to send him abroad for treatment but needed a proper medical report from a good hospital first. That’s how the doctor from NEPA recommended that he be taken to either of the University Teaching hospitals in Ibadan or Enugu.

The family chose Ibadan and took him there, where, unfortunately, on arrival, they learnt that staff of the hospital were on strike and would not attend to, or admit, any patients. They, however, met a sympathetic doctor who referred them to Teju Clinic run by one of the consultants from UCH. Peter was taken there and immediately admitted. All manner of tests were carried out to diagnose his ailment.

After four months in Teju clinic he was discharged. It did not appear as if the hospital knew exactly what was wrong with him as the only treatments he received were physiotherapy and pain killing medication to reduce his spastic pains. With no improvement on his condition he was taken back to Sapele where he continued to receive treatment for another six weeks in a local hospital there.

He was in Sapele when the Delta State government heard of his condition and decided to come to his aid. With a referral from the hospital in Sapele he was moved to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH. He was admitted there on August 8, 2003 and remained in the hospital for the next 10 months.

The treatment he received there was mainly physiotherapy and therapy for his slurred speech (as he was losing his ability to speak).  After 10 months, without any significant improvement, he was discharged by the hospital. The Delta State government offset his hospital bills and gave him some more money for his upkeep at home.  Once again the family was advised to take him back to traditional doctors. Within a short period the little money they had ran out as Peter was ferried from one native doctor to another who administered various forms of unorthodox treatment that did nothing for his steadily deteriorating condition. In all those years he was  lying on his back unable to walk with little feeling in both feet.

With funds exhausted and help coming from the occasional token cash gifts from a few visiting friends, members of All-Stars (retired footballers in Sapele), his coaching colleagues in Warri, and his meagre pension he remained at home for the next several years, his family exhausted and frustrated. Several times his wife said she saw him weeping in pain, frustration and helplessness, as she resorted to prayers. Last year a glimmer of hope came when MTN, the communications company, contacted me and wanted the name of any retired footballer that needed help.

Being aware of Peter’s case I gave them his name. A few weeks later they intervened and brought him in an ambulance to Lagos to participate in the charity edition of the popular television game show ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’. Some of the funds raised from the game show were donated to him after which he was returned to Sapele, back to his ‘hell’.

Meanwhile, his wife kept calling me and kept a regular running-commentary of his worsening state of health. That’s when I wrote about it and was divinely led to meet Governor Babatunde Fashola, whose relationship with Nigerian football and footballers is well acknowledged. He promptly intervened and the full extent of what he did very quietly and unobtrusively will one day be told.

But let me summarise. Within weeks of intervening the Lagos State governor contacted his Delta State counterpart, sent a medical team to Sapele, and flew Peter Fregene to Lagos. Peter was admitted straight into probably the best and most expensive hospital in Nigeria, the Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos, where sophisticated tests revealed what had been wrong with Peter for years undetected. He underwent some very delicate surgery involving his spinal cord and within days Peter’s 8 year ordeal found relief. The operation was successful and Peter immediately regained some feeling and mobility in his feet.  He was later discharged from the hospital and was made an outpatient to receive intensive physiotherapy to re-mobilise his legs and hopefully reduce his stomach spasms.

The Lagos State government has put him up in one of its guest houses and has provided him with exercise machines and a team of visiting doctors and physiotherapists, constantly monitoring his progress and guiding him through the long, difficult and challenging process of rehabilitation. Like a new born baby Peter would have to learn to walk again.

Last weekend I saw Peter with my two ‘naked’ eyes get up from his bed with the support of his wife, and gave me one of the most wonderful demonstrations of my life. He stood erect on his very weak and wobbly legs, first supported by the metallic walking aid that was provided to help him learn to walk again.

Then he put even that aside, and stood unaided. He was shaking so badly I expected him to tumble and fall at any moment. But no, he slowly dragged one foot after the other, tentative step after tentative step, like a child taking his first walk! Tears welled in my eyes and in his as he continued to drag his feet, one step after another, a majestic wonder unfolding! Peter had risen from the ‘dead’, revived by God through the benevolence and compassion of a man, a great governor who would not even let his commissioner for sports know what he was doing!  Peter Fregene is surely, slowly but steadily on the road to recovery.

That road obviously is still long and challenging, but with what I saw last Easter Monday, God’s miracle shall sustain and, one day soon, Apo will be fully back!

So what do you think of BRF.Please give your candid opinion.Thanks.

Dejsam,
thanks a million for the enlightenment.I fall under the category of beta with my echolink 3020irplus.regards.

GeorgeD,
I followed all the guidelines when the dish was installed some years back.I think the problem has to do with the heavy rain wind. It's either the lnb has moved a bit or the dish must have shifted aside because I have tried going up and down but the best I get is 46% which cant stay for long.I will work on it tomorrow, and give a feedback on Tuesday.

all,
Does anybody have the FA cup schedule for jsc?

Pito,
I will try the udp but i think it is better to hear from you and configure via the phone.i will try to call you at the weekend.

all,
I eventually met Enigma in Abeokuta at a wedding. He was magnanimous enough to bring two serial port-serial port cables from the UK for Enitan and I.
I tried picking SilverbirdTV on intel903 but the signal wouldnt come.the same with Daarsat.I couldnt see the signal at all.
what is wrong with Showtime as it goes off everytime there are Epl matches?they come back every Monday after denying us the matches.

Enitan/Pitodenz,
It is looking like my in-law Engineer Enny Ash---o is not revealing everything or why would it work perfectly on ur system and not work for others, not one person oooo.If there are new direct IPs,pls let us know.I am pissed off with the epileptic freedom.

Graciousme,
I tried getting you on phone. It seems something is wrong.I will try again tonight.why didnt you get echolink?I missed talking to you.

GeorgeD,
how much does the original Fuji lnb cost?I have a belief it helped to boost the signal coupled with the fact that ur dish is new.I will check if my 2 fuji lnbs are the original. If otherwise,I would have to get one from you.I remember badaru1 talking about the difference between a fake and original-Becarefull If you are buying fuji Lnb. The difference between the original and the fake one is the small not that bind the two side of the lnb together. The orinal one or the best one is the one that the not cant be unscrewed that is soldared together. The fake one can be unscrewed.
On Nigerian tv stations beaming to Europe,I hink it is cheaper for them.besides, someone earlier told us those signals are for DSTV South Africa.I agree with this. It's nice to see Silverbird TV on NSS10 alongside METRO Ghana,I hope others will join soon. check their impressive website-www.silverbirdtv.com

Sambass,
what is really happening to our enquiries on the Sky Sports you talked about.I hope you are not taking us for a ride.

all,
srsupport has a new update dated 260309.the Monday update was blank so I had to settle for the one on sat-mac.I hope everyone can see why sat-mac is the new bride.

LagosSky,
welcome.I am waiting for ur report on the Comstar pan dish.I am hearing about it for the first time.we are used to their mesh.

Olason,
the radio show is for Saturday night 10.30pm-midnight.Send a text on my zain at 11pm.Happy birthday. How is madam and the baby.and Oshodi,  I no say anything oooooooooo.

how far with the IPs for Lagos region.I am still stranded ooooo.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by toxnaija: 9:14pm On Mar 23, 2009
george-d,
I find it hard to believe you pick CNN at 60% on a new 3m fibre in Warri.on the Intel903,the signal is being beamed to Europe, check the footprint.I have tried it on motorised.you can pick just Ivory Coast Tv Premiere.Skysports used to be there some years ago.

Sambass,
we are waiting for your report on the Sky sports you talked about.

all,
the new update on srsupport has jsc sports too.please go to sat-mac too for the file.

graciousme,
Expect my call tonight.i was so busy throughout the weekend,I forgot to call.

Pitodenz,
I think I am beginning to appreciate the google group now.I just realised that there are so many hawks out there who feed fat on our works.the group takes care of people like that.

Sambass,
pls explain.we are trying not to make the same mistake we made with Adewest so reply to Enitan's enquiries.you are welcome.

let's pray for echolink/starsat.I dey fear ooo.

Pitodenz,
I have returned to the bush as I still cant get hold of any working IP.On the sat-mac issue,I dont think we should hide any good site for members all in the name of dealing with fta pirates. If a member,I think Ifende, didnt give us,I wouldnt have known about the wonderful site.I understand and support ur poimt of view, but remember that these days,we suffer a lot to get updates from slow sites.pls dont forget to mail any new ip.
NBC-I think it is Namibian.saw it on lyngsat some weeks back but I think it is out of beam.I hope to hear from you soon.thanks for the great job you are doing here too.

all,
I discovered some hours ago that srsupport has a new update for jsc sports which had been on sat-mac since 16th March. It does not have ART but you can get it at sat-mac as earlier announced.

Olofofo,
how are you doing with the 4m fibre at Ogba?thanks for the support my ana(in-law).I got ur gist on the risk involved with the updates.I think a strong anti-virus will take care of it.

how far with the IPs?are they all working?unfortunately,I forgot my connection cable while rushing back to Lagos from Abeokuta.Neccessity, they say,is the mama of invention.Could you believe I am typing in a bush behind LTV studio now?I just discovered that there has been an unsecured fast wireless internet system signal in a bush near the car park.it is being used by LTV's cable tv subsidiary AMULUDUN on HITV.and LTV's internet has been down for over 6months!!!!!Nigeria we hail thee.anyway, anytime I am in the office,na inside bush I come browse oooo.but I fear ur cousins the cobras and anacondas as you don dey unleash the venom.

New Cyfrowy Polsat transponder on 13E    source: tvpolsat.info

The cost of a Hot Bird 9 (13E) satellite capacity recently purchased by Cyfrowy Polsat is 124 million PLN. Contract was signed on the 26th of February 2009 and was regarded as significant because its value exceeds 10% of revenues for the last four quarters of turnover.
Technical parameters of Cyfrowy Polsat new transponder (it was used by French platform TPS):

Adewest,
where do you think you are going?do you realise the number of people waiting to have your service?I will call u  later.

Pitodenz,
I think your signal experience has solved the mystery with my dish.I have signals of 54/52 and 50/48  for Showsports and CNN respectively between 8pm and early afternoon.By mid-afternoon,the signal drops drastically to 48/46  on Showsports breaking seriously while CNN goes off completely.I thought it was the rain storm only but with your report,I now believe atmospheric conditions also contribute especially with the cloudy sky we often have nowadays.Does any other person in the South experience this?I agree with you that a 4m fibre dish is the best bet for us here.If my 3m in Abeokuta and 4m in PH could be disappointing once in a while, then Lagos and locations below it should forget Showsports on 3m.3.5m fibre and above will do the magic.

olofofo,
how una dey?my wife nko?I will be at LSDPC Estate this evening on ur behalf for the 4m dish.I just hope I wont get to the studio late.

badaru1,
I will be in Lagos Tuesday evening.I will come with the Echolink. But I wont be able to come to ur place until Thursday evening.I will call u before coming. So tell madam to prepare the best of Hausa supper dish for us ooo.I will stop eating from Wednesday afternoon!what is ur opinion on the signal drop both Pitodenz and I are experiencing?

Jujukemist,
nice to know that you are still there.thanks for the observations on the football adulteration. On Strong,I think the recent development is for our good.Let the receiver companies begin a competition war.At least we can now watch all the stations that are worth their salt.I remember predicting this some weeks back.Echolink/Starsat has already taken over the market with the acquisition of Strong's only joker-jsc +1-4.Iam sure Strong will have to acquire another juicy provider such as NOVA on Hotbird,as there is nothing for them on Nilesat now.
On DSTV,it will get to a period that they will drop subscription to N500 per month like you noted.I wish people in the South have the liberty of space and enough knowledge about fta.I can imaginepaying almost N10000 monthly for just 60 channels when I can watch over 3000channels free via fta.
On the comparison between the Echolink/Starsat receivers, pls let us avoid argument and controversy. If you are not using both, then you cant comment on them.Every receiver has its good and bad sides.I still prefer my Strong functions to that of Echolink but Strong wouldnt work with abracadabra.I hope you understand my analysis.
Have you sent your 15k to the Macloo guy for free Showtime/ART ?maga don pay!!!!some people still think 419 is very lucrative.fta 419!

Hi Mikson,
I use a vista home edition bought in Ireland less than 2 years ago. After using it for over 3hours the screen begins to behave funny bringing together all the opened windows,at times the system hangs and wouldnt power off until I press the power button for about 3seconds.It happens occasionally like twice a week.I have tried to all tricks to solve it but i just couldnt get a breakthrough.

Macloo,
you are a m, th, f, kin thief.look for a proper job.check our posts on the free to air section and find out how far you are behind.dont rubbish the good work we are doing in that section.you want to entice people with Echolink/abracadabra card.we are on your trail.just watch out.

Adewest,
thanks for the information.Does that mean that Echolink has added jsc sports+1-4 to its package?what is the fate of Strong?I had to do a bit of adjustment on the 3m fibre for over 3hours this afternoon.A heavy storm tilted the scalar a few days after the installation making me to have weak signals on Showsports.I have increased the signals from 46 to 50% on Showsports as at 7pm,hoping for an improvement on its own.I believe you would do better but I dont want to tamper with your allignment,so I am leaving it at the current signal strength.any suggestions?I hope Enitan never induct u into the fishermen group. How is the family?
I will take the Echolink to badaru on Wednesday to help find a solution to my inability to see ART.

Butoneday,
Thanks for the call.BBC Prime is virtually everywhere now-Eurobird2,AB2,Nilesat,Hotbird,etc.

Vickoy23,
there is something on CableTV waiting for you at the googlegroup. It could be of immense benefit to you thru the CTL/Discomm.Pls contact Butoneday asap.

all,
BBC PRIME has replaced ShowToday on Nilesat. It is free for now on 11861 vertical 27500.I am tired of watching football, football, football.this fta awoof dey run belle ooo.I read an interview in today's paper in which DSTV boss was accusing some people in the North of stealing their intellectual property/piracy by picking satellite signals meant for the Middle East /North Africa.I wish he knew about this forum, then he would run to his bosses in South Africa to ask that they block the Nigerian satellite airspace. It will get to a stage people in the South will forget pay-tv especially with the coming of Globecast on DTH,then HITV and DSTV will run koroba-koroba.what is ur opinion on this accusation against us by the boss of DSTV of stealing free air?If I know Yar'Adua's internet broadband code,I go use am.At least all over Europe,University students have free internet access in their hostel rooms and class.I am tired of this country where everything including air would have to be paid for thru the nose.pls go and buy fuel that will last you for at least two months for the car and generator.By Friday,we will see pepper.sorry my Ghanaian pals for bothering you, help me get job at TV3 or TvAfrica before Friday.I still cant pick TV3 here with the available parameters, and tvafrica on the same satellite went as high as 98% this evening.I was picking it until some weeks ago.I thought it was a general problem until I cried out last week.
Enitan has been declared missing.Anybody with useful information on his whereabout should please contact any of his pregnant concubines/fishes for a reward of one Echolink/Starsat and a 4m fibre dish.Heard he is hiding in the MEND enclave,Niger Delta creeks.
Did you see the new topic created by one Macloo-Showtime and ART are now free-also on the TV/Movies section?Who is he/she?I hope he wont rubbish this thread by duping people.Read what he wrote-
Hello my free viewer I want to shear this with you people in case you wan enjoy one year and six months watching Showtime full package and art full also for just #15000 then I will offer it to you. Please I need serious people not to play ok.
You don’t need to put code all you need is to buy the card put in your receiver and watch channels you want
Any question please
