Family / Re: Pls Peeps, help Me Out In A Bad Situation by toyemz(f): 2:50am On Nov 17, 2014
Hi
why dont you do the same job ( plaiting and painting nails ) that you were doing in South Africa. back home in Nigeria? The type of hair is the same and the kind of nail colors will surely be the same fashion. so why dont you start from somewhere? surely you dont have to know what ever system works in Nigeria to start that!
It is all about looking at what reality is staring you in the face and dealing with it.The sooner the better.

you really cant blame your mum she is really disappointed in the setback you have brought. your mum is hurting kos as her first born you should be helping to help reduce the stress she has( considering that all your siblings stayed with your mum and not followed your dad) look at this and maybe you will understand the presence of her new man friend in her life. Instead of moping turn the situation around.Get one of your sisters to care for your baby and go and prove to your mum that it was a mistake and you are all set to make things right.
Don't sit at home wallowing in self pity, there is no time for that, your child is growing by the day and as she grows her needs become bigger and more expensive. Now is the time you can perfect any skill you need .pls make haste in doing this.
Thank God you have a free roof over your head for now .Many in your situation dont . Ignore whatever insult you get, turn a deaf ear.just strive to move forward.Make that first step and persevere God be with you as you make the right choice . it is well

That you need to communicate with her
Let her know
Like people have advised, there should be set rules on how money is shared and disbursed in the family
Even if you, never get to use the money. For the sake of responsibility let your wife contribute a certain percentage of her money into the family purse( its all in the name of taking responsibility)
There is nothing wrong here, in sitting down with her and letting her know your reaction to her action( she might not have known, seeing she has doesn't contribute to any payment in the house)
Your allocating her a bill or two doesn't make you weaker or mean you are shrugging your responsibility, it makes her aware and alert- the building and running of the home should be a 'we' venture not a 'I' one.
have a talk and redefine all this.
Go back to the drawing board together.
Good luck.

i think the important word here
is self sanitation

using soap and sanitisers are good
but best to go the extra mile
i would use the original dettol to bathe and wash clothes
and honestly get a strong bleach to wipe down my furniture and stuff

and yes be alert.

@RTFM
i know how you feel,
you have to be in it to feel it.
i over the year have cried so hard for my loss that my eyes went bad
pls cry when as you remember her, then smile for all the good things, signs, cares and love she gave you as you journeyed through life together
Just be strong, kos that is what she would have wanted( hard to do, but that's one goal towards saying yes to her wishes)
Go for country drives park under a tree and scream your pain out,
Cry but remember to smile at the same time
God will touch you, when you least recognize it ,
it is well

dear Op
i really understand what you are going through.Life is not easy, its always full of ups and downs
pls don't kill yourself,
look around you and try to get a glimpse of hope for strength for the next unknown
even looking at a tiny plant might just do that
we all have plans, hopes, desires ,aspirations and goals- sometimes even within a time frame
but then things don't always work out the way we plan them
so we move from plan A to plan B and from plan B to plan C,trust me before we get to the end, something will click
if this is who i think it is, lets talk on Facebook
God will give you the strength to carry on, just like He has done for others Amen
Family / Re: Help; My Two Boys Fights A Lot by toyemz(f): 9:49am On Oct 18, 2013
welcome to my world
two lovely nephews who wake up every morning arguing over the most stupid things
the latest being the younger one reporting that his elder brother stole his dream!
how to deal with them:
-less sugar, restrict them to one fizzy drink a week. water is really really good for them
-get the elder one to act more calmly eg if he doesn't behave he wont go to that birthday party he's been wanting to go to
-buy them individual clothes, they are not twins, don't make them think they are
-give them separate tv times. eg one watches sponge bob for 30 mins, the other can be on the iPad or laptop for that time
-create the rule: they are not allowed to hit each other, use certain words on each other etc and punish accordingly. t doesn't matter who started the fight, the one who hit or cursed gets the punishment. One of the best punishment we mete out is to make the punished child stay in his room alone for 10 mins while the other children have fun downstairs( somehow this to them is so painful and after 2 mins, you will hear words like 'sorry' and 'can i come out now?')

Also teach them that it is ok to ignore when you know someone is picking on you .kos that's what they do, they pick on each other.
but see them outside oh, they are like a tag team
na wa oh

@Bado 09
MAI TATSINE, BOKO HARAM AND CAN: THE BITTER TRUTH “Marwa Maitatsine, was a Christian until his death!! Back in 1954, there ware series of meetings by the highest body of Christian association in the northern Nigeria, in Jos, which I happened to be the secretary, taking the minutes of that meeting (then, I was an undergraduate student of Christian Theology). Part of the result of that meeting was, to sponsor some people among ‘us’ to go to Arab countries as new Muslim converts, and learn Arabic and Islam. Their mission is to come back to Nigeria as Muslims clerics, use their Islamic knowledge to preach violence, distort original Islamic teachings and if possible cause a riot in the North that will make northern Nigeria a history. Five people were nominated for the job, and sent to Sudan to start their mission. 3 of them refused to come back and execute their plan, but spent the rest of their lives in Sudan as true Muslims. The remaining two; Muhammad Marwa and Birema came back, Marwa was sent to Kano, and Birema was sent to Niamey Niger Republic.”….Pro fessor Dauda Ojobi Professor Dauda Ojobi, a former secretary of Northern Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), a retired Professor in Benue State University faculty of Law, the 3rd Reverend Father from northern Nigeria, after Paul Gindiri, and Ganaka, The first Nigerian overseer of Baptist Church in Kaduna, and One time commissioner of Justice in Bauchi State. Mai Tatsine the obsolete version of Boko Haram, which began their reign in late 50’s in Kano and some other parts of Northern Nigeria, their ideologies were similar to that of Boko Haram, they forbade what Islam allowed, and allowed what Islam made haram. They claimed western education is sin, they rejected anything brought by technology, they were popular with saying, wearing a wrist watch is haram, using radios and television is haram e.t.c. (considering the technological advancement of that period). The spiritual leader of Maitatsine movement was Muhammad Marwa a.k.a Mai Tatsine. The Emir of Kano Sanusi, once suspected Maitasine as fake Muslim when he discovered Maitatsine received goods from Vatican Palace. After sarki confirmed his findings, he expelled Maitatsine out of Kano, in early 60’s. Mai Tatsine was later brought back to Kano by Gov. Rimi in 1979. Rimi believed that Maitatsine would help him win his reelection through charm. After the Maitatsine’s death, Shagari, the then President set a Anya Goru panel to investigate the crises. Prof. Dauda has made his submission in that panel, but when the President, saw the report, he said no, the white paper will not be issued on this report, because it may result to crises, so the white paper was not issued, till date. Professor Dauda became Muslim in 1966, after he came back from Rome, where he went to further his studies, in Christian Theology. He is still alive and has become a Muslim preacher for over 40 years. What I quoted above was from his lecture I attended in Bauchi, 2002. Ever since, no any Christian scholar or CAN executive denied this statement from Prof. Dauda . Are they waiting for his death before they deny it? -Security operatives that always claim they want uproot the Boko Haram mayhem did not investigate in that angle, why? -Why the relationship between Jerry Gana (CAN chieftain) and Muhammad Yusuf, founder of Bokoharam? The former has bailed the later from police custody several times. -I see a double standard approach and hypocrisy by the security personnel, in the investigation. -I began to believe Boko Haram is the creation of some enemies of Islam possibly CAN (not Christian), is never a creation of Muslims. -Remember, Hillary Clinton once said Taliban is their creation, to fight Russians. I beg your pardon, if this write up hurts you in any form, it’s not intended, but facts need to be set straight. One love keep us tegeda
kind sir i would like to know how old you are, seeing that in 1954 you were an undergraduate note taker? i bow oh
you do know that the above highlighted makes no sense whatsoever dont you? so here's the scope me thinks that you received some sort of bribe to publish this balderdash and try to cause confusion right?

Business / Re: The Customer Is Right, No Rights And Not Treated Right: A Case In Nigeria by toyemz(f): 11:17pm On Aug 17, 2013
@Op
the saying 'nothing ventured nothing gained ' stands true to core
The customer is always right, especially when it comes to services that have already been paid for. no matter how a company tries to explain a negligence away, the situation remains true, someone has paid for a service and a company has taken the money and not provided the service. tantamount to stealing. i would say
so what can you do?
you can call the customer service and make a complaint they have to listen to you
you could threaten to leave their company, they will listen to you
but until you do take action, most companies will try to sweep such error under the carpet praying that no one complains.

Good luck

I would say look for quality rather than total cheapness
In whatever you do always remember that the return customers are the ones that make the biz grow,
remember that a good word of mouth can rake in 5 new customers, a bad word of mouth can make you lose 10!
study the children market, there are brands that are a no no with children, simply because they fade quickly or because th neckline loses its elasticity that quick

no problem
my advice to you the mistress is to laminate this ya letter and keep it safe
kos you know what?
the law of karma is so very real
what goes around comes around
you will be the housewife one day soon( yes your type do eventually get married)
and one day you will read this letter and feel the pain of the house wife
maybe that day you will also be the author of the housewife letter
Until then keep sailing!

like

akara re (this is akara)

you could even add dot com at the end

and to make it seem even more traditional, how about using original banana leaves and a plastic container with a lid
good luck

Fashion / Re: Nigerian Ladies And Tattoos by toyemz(f): 2:40am On Apr 19, 2013
Like someone rightly said, having tattoos on the Nigerian body is not a new thing
it has been in existence from time.My grandmother had a tattoo, so does my mum and they both had them done when they were teenagers!

Like i maintain, some people like tattoos others don't
if having a tattoo makes one happy and they are comfortable with it, that's their call .if it is offensive to you
look away
and quoting the Bible on tattoos, hmmmm what can I say, there are loads of sins out there that the Bible preaches against
but humans still do them
honest its a free world and each to his own!!!

a form of tattoo has been in existence like forever
i grew up seeing it on my mum and my nan
so why it is now a thing of condemnation from you guys
some tattoos look lovely while others dont but hey
if women who have them are comfortable with them
whats with you guys in condemning it?

Tattoos everywhere - the whites started it, Nigerian girls embraced and ruined it

Hang on
How come its only Nigerian girls that embraced it?
How come tattoos look bad on nigerian girls
big issues here
I have seen African girls with tattoos and they looked lovely on them
and hey my mum has a pic of a carrot bunch on her leg, which has existed from time imortal( isnt that a tatoo)
so why do you think that tattoos are just a current thing in nigeria

if you go wholesale in purchasing your products,
you will be sure to get a discount on your items
The next thing you have to look at will be the cost of shipping the items into the country
no matter what that cost adds to the overall expense

you need to take into consideration other expenses too

in a nut shell,do you intend to make any profit at all?

Good idea but you need to look at the bigger pic
