Dating And Meet-up Zone › Re: Ekiti People, this Is Our Zone. by tpiah: 7:08pm On Jun 19, 2009
ElRazur:
It is a discriminatory thread. Discrimination is a form of division. Like I said before, it specifically calls on a set of people based on where they come from etc.

If a white man puts up a sign saying "Whites only", wont you point out it is racism [ another form of discrimination based on skin colour]. There is nothing to " undecided" about with my statement. It is pretty much simple for anyone to grasp. smiley
Its discriminatory only if others are specifically made to feel unwelcome because they're not part of the group.

The thread cant be called that because no one said non-Ekitis cant post.

I see your point but I dont think its as serious as you feel. The person who first called you out, was disturbed about your statement, thats all.

People tend to be on edge about tribal bashing and all that, this being Nairaland.

Pastor AIO:
All the orthodox churches (including roman catholics) celebrate this day. The celebration might have a pagan origin though.
It was celebrated every where in Europe and still is till this day. Especially in Italy (Florence) and in Eastern Europe.
pretty general statement.

I assume you mean those churches which follow the Byzantine rite.

OP

where in the bible did you read Mary died a virigin? huh

I have read parts of the bible, where the brothers of Jesus were talked about and other part were twas said that mary died a virgin. Also crowning it is the part in Isaiah were twas said that no one would pass through the same road he passed and some people relating that to the birth. So kindly send your suggestions to convince me about the actual state of Jesus's family

Fashion › Re: Fashion Face Off: Beyonce Vs Rihanna. by tpiah: 6:31pm On Jun 19, 2009
Ejadamen:
I disagree. Rihanna does not look stiff. Yes Beyonce looks confident cos she is but having fun? Strikes me more like playing to the camera. I am tired of that smile. Rihanna looks natural. She's herself. She doesn't have to smile to look good on camera whereas Beyonce has to smile and pose just right to look good. My opinion anyways.
I've complained about Beyonce's fixed smile many times on this forum.

However, in the first set of pictures posted here, Beyonce looks far more relaxed and approachable than Rihanna.

This is because she (Beyonce) has been in the spotlight longer.

There's something called being artless which goes a long way when you're in the public gaze. Rihanna has to work on that but given time she'll get there.

A rally protesting against the racist attacks is due to take place at Belfast City Hall at 1400 BST on Saturday.
Note to self:

since the day I was born I've never heard of any rally by Nigerians protesting tribalism either from their kinsmen or rival tribes.

[ Look at the university and NYSC setting, you will notice that majority of the girls date married men and many of them go on to marry unfaithful husdands
also true in many instances, though I wouldnt say a majority of girls date married men since i have no way of knowing the exact figures.

What I dont get is why its always a shock to find out the man is still cheating.
