Ikaosunwon:Ọlọpa èwo ni t'epe? |
post=74256314:Soon you say? That's a false hope o. |
SAMBARRY:But seriously, my head is spinning trying to imagine what would draw a father to his 2year old. Many people need to be healed. |
This is purely nonsensical. Challenging status quo does not mean one has to be idiotic. He could have dressed more decently and handsomely without putting on suit. |
This is somehow worse than someone being a pedophile. What on earth is arousing in a 2 year old? This is really sick.. |
In other words, she's carrying a Toyota Camry on her head everywhere she goes even if she has to keel hopping from one damfo into another. |
NotComplaining:You can talk about sacrificial killings as far as religion is concerned. But morals, I won't agree probably because I'm from South-West Nigeria. The morals in my land has more rigidity than some of those shown in the Bible. Yet nevertheless, I've come to realize that Islam and Christianity especially are just tools that selfish individuals conjure for their own selfish gains. Even till today, the Bible has been the most abused religious book by oppressors and it takes God to open ones eyes to see those. Talking about globalization and the likes, the UN is just a peg to monitor weaker nations. World powers don't adhere to the rules of the UN and when the leader of a weak nation call the bluff of IMF, the country better be prepared because they'll stage sanctions against the country to keep it economically subjugated forever. No country is rich indeed among the world power, in my opinion. All their riches are just what they've gotten living off the wealth of other nations. |
NotComplaining:I'm not going to deny speaking with European influence. They make the education system that was loaded into my brain and even though up to my first degree, I schooled in the country, it was the leftover education passed down to us that I had. At this age and time, Africans need to wake up from our slumbers of tribalism, religiosity and so on. All of those factors are just being used to further enslave our minds while our leaders have been blinded to believe that what happens to the homeless boy on the street will never get to their children. Need I say, it's becoming stale to keep ourselves in the avenue of excuses of what the colonial masters did. We can still call the bluff of them, we can still liberate Africa, we can still show the world that the black race is not only superior in bedroom activities but we are the same as every other race despite the prejudices and hatred we've suffered from the Aryan race for thousands of years. |
NotComplaining:This your very last paragraph really got me. And I'm beginning to think that fighting any internal war is much more deadlier than an outside war. For Mandela, Mugabe (at the start) and some nationalists like them, the fight was against the whites. The enemy was visible and every African were mobilized against their domination of Africans in our lands. After some of them got hold of power, they became cancerous to the system. See what became of Mugabe. What about Mobutu who called himself "conqueror of Great Britain"? Black man fighting black man who's oppresively ruling his country is much more dangerous than black man fighting white men. The same ideology of divide and rule is what the imperialists are still using to dominate African countries while our own African leaders use divide and rule through religion, tribes and so on. Educationally, we're held down; culturally, we're caught in the middle; technologically, we're feeding on crumbs that fall off the white man's table with our technological resources buried deep in the earth. As long as I'm alive, I still see hope for Africans even though sometimes it's really so overwhelming when I see chains of challenges holding us down. |
Hmmm... Perhaps I wouldn't have believed that globalization and co are euphemism for imperialism and continuous colonialism had it been that African countries exercised government systems without interference of the Western world. While Britain only modernized its monarchy and combined it with a unitary system of government, African societies eradicated the political systems that had served them for thousand of years before white man ever discovered Africa. They got the black man caught in the middle and we need to look up to them to decide which political system we should practice. Despite choosing one which seems to be the best, our societies are crumbling and the brains we have in the continent are drawn to the better living conditions in the white man's land and the black man, the most degraded race is still suffering serious brain drain. This is a tragedy that'll be solved whenbwe start calling the bluff of the Western powers by looking inward for solutions to our challenges. |
Righteousness89:Hmmmmm Save Mankind FROM eternal destruction you mean right? It actually goes beyond that. God is not a destructive God. Punishment only became necessary because some angels spearheaded by Lucifer wanted to usurp God's throne. Mankind was not created to partake in it at all until man also disobeyed God, the punishment then became necessary unless he's redeemed. The redemption story meanwhile is actually meant to restore man to the original state before the fall; that man may have dominion over everything under the earth as God purposed when He created man. So the redemption story is man going back to what God initially planned for him. Modified : like you rightly put it, celebrating Christmas is useless until Jesus become the Lord and Saviour of one's life. |
FILEBE:I, personally and by myself came here to read what Nigerians will say when someone said "Nigeria is a better country than. ..". Honestly speaking, the fun of Nairaland nay, any forum is not just in the topic, the major chunk is in people's comments. And I love it. |
notoriousbabe:Must it be the girlfriend that know what not does what is doing she. My candid advice. |
naptu2:Thanks for sharing this. I read every bit of it and I'm still wondering why I didn't hear anything about the woman before now. |
Kolombz:That's to tell you that we've successfully imported the attitudes of the whites which we used to see as moronic and idiotic. I'm afraid we might need to start preparing for kids shooting sporadically like they do in US even though bearing arms is illegal here. |
mrrights:It's not about Hashim alone, it's about all of them. Let them gain the trust of the entire populace first. Nigerian politics especially the presidency has a way it brings out the beast in humans. The present governor of my state was a MD for Mobil West Africa, amidst other great business leadership he held. When he became governor, the story changed though he wasn't entirely bad. Let Hashim and co build names for themselves in Nigerian political arena like Osinbanjo and Atiku have done. |
As much as I'd like to be an optimistic Nigerian, I don't trust any of these political newbies. If they really want to show us they have what it takes to govern Nigeria, let them gain our trust by ruling their respective states and transforming them. If not, I don't trust them to win or to lead well should they win. They are as Atiku and Buhari. Let Durotoye, Olawepo and co except Donald Duke go back to their respective states. Let's see what ideas, innovation, skills, sincerity, integrity and love for Nigeria they've got. I tell you, it will be easier for them to clinch Nigeria's presidency or else, they'll just keep splitting votes for the same corrupt politicians we've always had. |
Reading all these, one would think that the purpose a man exists is to be a plaything for woman or to have a good social standing with woman. Everything is just about "self-esteem, self-image and self, self, self. It's time men evolve. Our lives are not meant to revolve around ladies alone. |
CAPSLOCKED:Bro, if you have something to do for them, please do. If those commenters are really gonna help, let them. It's possible to see the same sight every day without making a move until someone magnifies that sight. In any capacity we can improve humanity, with whatever will motivate us to; let's just do it. Let's leave the hypocritical and the deluded alone, let's just do what we can. |
My joy reading the comments was that people are willing to help. Let's forget our politicians. If it's possible to change the political elite circle, it would have been nice. But worse people are most likely going to replace them. So whenever we see folks like that, let's just help them. It could have been anyone of us. |
Minjim:But most black people no black reach this level nau. Even children will run away on sighting these. |
Wow... This is something that's getting depressed over because I imagine how I'd feel having speech difficulty of any kind. I'm not a speech pathologist o but bro, maybe you can try talking to yourself when you're alone. That way, you'll communicate without any inhibition and you can even sing aloud when alone. If you're able to do that for some time, you'd see your speech confidence level filling up and you'll see improvements. |
Lagbaja01:May God not allow her to use overprotectiveness and 'overloving' to destroy the boy's destiny. |
Earthbound:I thought I was the only one thinking that way o. Linda is about to make the little child another disaster to her life with all these nonsense just to cover up for her mistakes. |
He is sportistically 16. Period! |
Congrats to them. So many babies on this Nairaland BTW. |
I was on 4G also and connection stopped after I used less than 1/10 of my subscription. They told me it would be resolved but nothing happened till 860mb went away like that. Airtel meanwhile has been stealing airtime from my phone till now. dustmalik: |
sankky:Aptly written. That is the result of having a sense of freedom without any sense of responsibility. We believe we're free and the mostly promoted aspect of Christianity these days is the part that pushes our freedom. But the responsibility aspect, we've neglected. We even rejected our social/cultural norms which supports responsibility with freedom. Everyone do what they like without having a rethink but when the consequences come, we'll suffer for it as a society. Like you rightly said, only time will tell. |
Lexusgs430:I wanted to tell you not to compare South Africa and Nigeria's economy and I just remembered that NIGERIA'S ECONOMY IS REGARDED AS LARGER THAN THAT OF SOUTH AFRICA. THESE POLITICIANS HAVE NO EXCUSE. IN FACT, THEY'RE SHAMELESS FOR DRAGGING MINIMUM WAGE OF LESS THAN #100K. |
Even though funding is poor but UITES musr shine wherever they are. I'm proud to be a UITE. |
ngwababe:What will happen when you start criticizing those you mentioned last? |
