Love the fact that u forgo your falling ego and ask for more enlighten info. Buhari needs to win the states which he won in the last general election and 25% of the states won by Gej in 2011 in order to win. But the way things are now Buhari has won Osun Ogun kogi with a very wide margin and those are the states where he just need the 25% of the people's vote.
Go back and check the results of these states and then tell me your definition of "wide margin". Stop deluding yourself with this your 25% trash and get real with the fact that a winner must get the popular votes and at least 25% in 2/3 states.

Oga sorry o! in all the abovementioned states, nobody is expecting Buhari to win but surprisingly Gej lost Kogi,Adamawa and Ondo. In Benue, we are still awaiting final result.
Adamawa is not confirmed yet but Benue is already in the bascket. By how many votes did he win Ondo, Kogi and the entire south west put together. If margin was more it would have given him an edge but as it stands, Jonathan will win but not with a wide margin like I said.

Dude u need to spend more time with your mathematics textbooks. Jonathan is losing with a very wide margin. During the 2011 general election Jonathan won all the south west states except Osun and he was expected to do the same this year. As for Buhari to win he needs 25% of votes from the states Jonathan won in the previous general election and those states are being won by apc now so gej needs a miracle to win this on going election. More so the number of pvc collected in Kano,Kaduna, and Katsina state alone can cancel out the whole of SE deficit bro keep calm and see Buhari boots GEj out of power
You are the one that should go back to your books. I base my analysis on had facts and not on 'Dugbe market' reasoning. What do you mean by "For Buhari to win he needs 25% of votes from states Jonathan won in previous general elections"?

PDP is doing very very well in that state. Despite all APC did with boko haram there.
The Buhari - GEJ gap isn't up to 2 million yet and only results in Buhari's so called strongholds have been released.
Watching..
You are just on point. After seeing the South West result I became convinced that Jonathan will win even though not with a very wide margin. I expected a very big blow from APC in the South West which did not happen. Small Bayelsa alone takes care of the deficit in the entire south west including Kogi. The fact that GEJ won Plateu, Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba even is quite interesting. I thought APC was taking Nasarawa. Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom will take care of Kano and Katsina. South East has not been considered yet.

PoliticsRe: Why Jonathan Will Get A Red Card In Yoruba Land And Fall by Tranquill:
OrigamiIII:
What the yorubas do not know too well is the deep hatred the average ijaw man has for them and the itsekiris. Jonathan is an ijaw man therefore cannot behave any different from normal ijaw's disposition towards the yoruba man. All ijaws want to ensure is the complete de-emancipation, marginalisation and political/economic subjugation of the yoruba people. This policy has been on and carefully implemented since the beginning of GEJ administration till date. If he is reelected the yorubas would suffer a great deal more. Remember, asari threatened to destroy the whole of yoruba land should GEJ loose the election.
GEJ believes with money he can conveniently buy the entire votes in the sw. He is in for a shocker. The yorubas have endured enough and are not prepared to bear with this anylonger. The day of reckoning is fast beckoning.
I am not an Ijaw so not speaking for them but the image you are trying to create does not hold water. Yes there has been historical distrust between the Itsekiris and the Ijaws as well as Urhobos and other tribes but this can hardly be translated to deep hatred for yorubas. Someone that hates you so deeply as you portray can not come and marry your daughter no matter how beautiful she is. Many Ijaw men have Yoruba wives including Chief Edwin Clark, his brother the poet and novelist J.P Clark. The mother of the present Governor of Bayelsa state Seriake Dickson is a yoruba from Ijebu. I can mention so many of such union which would have been impossible if your assertion is true. Asari Dokubo has made some disperaging comments about the yorubas and almost every tribe but he is not speaking for the Ijaws nor Jonathan. The disparaging comments made by former CBN governor Sanusi Lamido about the Yorubas does not mean he is speaking for northerners.

You should try and canvass for votes and support for your prefered candidate without wipping up ethnic sentiment which will do no good to anyone please.

Secondary schools fall within the responsibilty of state governments but people hardly hold them accountable. The federal government went beyond it's bound by building modern almajiri schools yet they say JONATHAN DID NOT DO ANYTHING. Fashola of Lagos took $90 million ( ninety million dollers) from the World Bank to upgrade secondary schools but there is absolutely nothing on ground to show for it. Some Lagosians requested under the freedom of information act to know how the money was used, Fashola went to court claiming that freedom of information applies only to federal government and can not be domesticated in Lagos. Jonathan signed the freedom of information act yet Fashola says that Jonathan is corrupt. CHANGE MY FOOT!!

Chad's victory, and the need for foreign troops, is an embarrassment to Nigeria's once-mighty military, brought low by corruption and politics. The foreign intervention comes just two weeks

Analysts say the neighboring countries worry how much Boko Haram has infiltrated Nigeria's military. Even Jonathan has said that he fears his Cabinet is infiltrated by sponsors of the extremists. A year ago, he fired his entire military command and the defense minister.

Even as Nigeria's military is humiliated by the foreign aid, witnesses say it has been ill-equipped to defend civilians from a series of vicious attacks. In Baga, Nigerian soldiers fought valiantly for hours, then fled when they ran out of ammunition, witnesses told The Associated Press.
http://news.yahoo.com/nigerias-president-troops-liberate-town-boko-haram-095030622.html
So where does it say that Chad and Cameroun pulled out because of Nigeria's unseriousness? Besides the major impact of these countries involvement is that it closed their escape route apart from stoping them from using their soil as a sanctuary and safe haven where they run to and remobilize after operating and wrecking havoc in Nigeria. There is nothing wrong if Nigeria seeks and get help from neighbouring countries or any country for that matter. Even world powers like the UK, US etc do same. What you may not even know is that these countries are being funded and equiped by Nigeria via a third party.

Even as a GEJ supporter, this is one particular area I've been offended by him.

Yes, he wanted to appear patient, fatherly and appeasing to the genocide crying Northern Elders, but in reality he didn't do well in his handling of the BH. Leadership isn't about appearing good; it's about doing the most appropriate thing, not minding offending a few.

Human life is sacrosanct, and shouldn't be dragged into politics.
It is not just because he was trying to appease the northern leadership who acused him of genocide and refused to coporate with him, Buhari who specifically decleard that an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North, the fact is that what actually changed the momentum now apart from the acquisition of new weapons which was made difficult in the past by the genocide allegation against the government but also the involvement of mutinational force comprising the neighbouring countries and most of them refused to get involved initially unless they got approval from the African Union which was recently granted. So Jonathan has never been unwilling to deal with BH but many obstacles on the road.

I did not attend as a journalist. The place usually flooded by Nigerians residing in the UK mostly with no restrictions just go in and have your seat. I said the few white folks that care to attend are mainly researchers, journalists and MPs (members of parliament) with interest in African affairs. Atiku came with Terry Waya, Audu Ogbe and few others that I dont recall while El Ruffai, Nuhu Ribadu and few others also came from the government side to counter what he said using the opportunity given during the question and answer session.

I personally attended the one Atiku gave in 2007 when he was contesting.

You will even be ashamed to know that all they do is to rubish their country thinking they are impressing the few white folks that will attend mainly journalists , few researchers and maybe one or two MPs with interest in African affairs. At the end of the day, the negative perception they have about Nigeria is magnified.

PoliticsRe: Two Retired Generals Contradict Each Other On Buhari's Certificate by Tranquill(op): 11:41am On Feb 25, 2015
jomoh:
Read my comment again brother.

I didn't say obasanjo got it wrong. I said he was clear with his assertion that certificates was a criteria used by the military.

"You think tarfa was same time or few years after buhari". You are not sure yourself of Tarfa's drafting period. I don't know the Tarfa guy but the use of the word "Nigerian-nising" shows this guy must've being before OBJ. Remember there were the likes of Muritala, Yakubu Gowon before OBJ.

So tell me clearly where you think am wrong.

On the issue of forgetting. You're right that we should scrutinize our aspiring leaders but the people fighting the case in court knows its a lost cause. Even if some people see GMB has illiterate do you think he wouldn't have seek extensive legal advises before doing what he did or do you think he doesn't know what he was saying that those against him should go to court and remain there. The man knows what he's done/doing and he won't be distracted by the certificate issue. Remember he has a lot of lawyers on his party and his running mate is a constitutional professor of law. A constitutional lawyer.

"The Military said". My brother, we might have a differing opinion but you will agree with me that this present Military has been corrupted to suit the PDP purpose. The case of Ekiti election audio is still fresh in mind, so anything coming from the military cannot be totally trusted. Also if you remember, he said his credentials were carted away by the military during the coup. Meaning there couldn't have been a record of submission of the certificate therefore it was easy for a corrupted military to deny its existence in their custody. The overall meaning of "his credentials being with the Military" is just to save the image of the military of which he belonged to instead of accusing the military of stealing his documents.

The man has submitted his affidavit which is a legally acceptable document. Until the affidavit is rendered null and void by a court of law, the man is still legally qualified.
Why I refered you to obasanjo's comment was because he clearly stated that when he joined the army 4 years before Buhar that it was the criteria to have the Cambidge Cert or equivalent and anyone who joined with or after him most definitely has it. If you read the link provided you will see that Tarfa was even junior to Buhari being a commandant of the NDA while Buhari was head of state and he sounded like they were in secondary school about the same time.

I am not the one that thinks that academic certificate should be a criteria to judge one's abilty to hold a position but if that is what the law says it must be obeyed. Remember even when Sadam knew he didnt have chemical weapons or other armours he was still daring the U.S and her allies thinking he would scare them away. That GMB has so many lawyers is not enough to think that the case would not sail through. If you've ever had a bad case in court you will admit with me that your lawyers will always give you hope until the day you get the judgement. Great lawyers like Rotimi Williams and Gani Fawehinmi were still losing cases in courts till they died so Osinbajo being on Buhari's side is no assurance.

It was actually Buhari that draged the army into this. The army never awarded him the WASC (West African School Certificate) that he claimed in his INEC form that he has so why refere INEC to the army instead of going to the institution that awarded it to get a duplicate copy or alternative documentation? He thought mentioning the army will make people not to ask further questions but not knowing that Nigerians are wiser now. If the constitution does not specify school cert why did he not mention in his INEC form what else that qualifies him to contest instead of WASC that he knows he doesnt have.

In advanced society Buhari would have folded his campaign and apologised to Nigerians by now instead of trying to hide under legal bottle neck and delay in the judicial processes while still claiming he wants to build a corruption free and better society.
PoliticsRe: Two Retired Generals Contradict Each Other On Buhari's Certificate by Tranquill(op): 9:40am On Feb 25, 2015
jomoh:
Logically you can't categorically say either of them is lying cos the data provided is not sufficient enough to pass any judgement. Knowing the time period the two of them were referring to would go a long way in determining the authenticity of their statements.

On the other hand if critically examined one can say the two of them were saying the truth.

Paul Tarfa I believe was referring to an earlier time period than OBJ going by the word "Nigeria-nizing". Its a time when the Colonial Masters were freshly drafting Nigerians into the military. This is a pre-Obj era. The man was maybe using his own time to judge so you can hardly fault the man.

OBJ: Obj was spot on. He didn't mince his words on Buhari's certificate. It was a compulsory requirement during and after his time and till date.

The question is were they required by the military then to submit their original credentials before joining the military? But the answer is No.

GMB already said his certificates were carted away by the military during the 1985 coup. Meaning he had it before then and must've used it to enter the military but presently he doesn't know its whereabouts(its lost). He has sworn an affidavit to it being with the military.

To think of it, shouldn't we have forgotten this certificate issue by now cos the constitution never mandate the possession of certificate as a criteria for contesting.
You are wrong bro. You should read Obasanjo's statement very well. Buhari's was admitted 4 years after Obasanjo and I think Tarfa was same time or few years after Buhari.

The Military said they only have a recommendation letter from Buhari's principal that says he believes that HE WILL PASS HIS WASC and Buhari is yet to refute this.

It should not be forgotten because it has to do with rules and the law which are the main essence of democracy especially if we desire for a better society where no one is above the law.

General Paul Tarfa said
"In those days when Nigeria was Nigerianising its military, many of the officers that you seetoday did not even have their school certificates until long after.

“When we were invited to go to Kaduna, we were given qualifying examination in English, Mathematics and General Knowledge, even before we took the school certificate exam. Some did not even wait to take their school certificates because vacancies were already waiting for them.

“It was after that qualifying exam that we were recruited into the army. By the time some had their school certificates, they had become officers.

“For example, Gen. Babangida never saw his school certificate until when he was head of state. I got my school certificate long after I became an officer".

General Olusegun Obasanjo
"When I joined the Army in the 1950s, I needed to have a Cambridge certificate or West African School Certificate or GCE with a minimum of six subjects to be able to join the military at the time.

“I don’t know of anybody who was an officer at that time that did not have similar certificates.

“Buhari joined the Army about four years after me and if I needed such a certificate to be admitted into the Army, I don’t know how he could have avoided it"

PoliticsRe: Atiku Challenges Police Over Killing Of ABU Professor by Tranquill: 11:40am On Feb 24, 2015
Well it should be properly investigated but that he is a professor is not just enough to exonerate him because if Boko Haram was made up of unintelligent street urchins alone, it would not be as deadly and would have been crushed long ago. It is only in Nigeria where one will be seen as above the level of engaging in criminal activities just because of one big title that you have. Some few years ago a respected professor in one of the prestigeous universities in the US was caught and jailed for involvement in child pornography.
