That's why women need to know their leverage and play their game well.

If they do, no limits.

And where is the misogyny? cheesy

Somehow, I could sense a thinly veiled misogynistic tone; misogyny in the context of contempt and not necessarily hatred. His text painted women as being in a state of helplessness and inherently lacking the gift of choice.
FamilyRe: Dear Black Man, It's Okay To Want The Best For Yourself. by Tripitaka:
Romangalactic:
Every women wants a wealthy man for a husband, but wealthy men are simply not plenty so they always settle for less. Every man on the other hand wants a beautiful woman with attractive body, and these are very plenty. YOUR CHOICE.
Women don't mind how many sex partners a man has had, they will still marry you even when they know it's better to marry a virgin man but these virgin men are not plenty so they always settle for less. Men on the other hand prefer to marry virgin women and guess what, they are still many despite what you may think, just be on the lookout. YOUR CHOICE

This is quite an interesting POV; one that is prevalently relatable (even though there's a whiff of misogyny). In romantic relationships, men are mostly characterised as dominant while women are deferential, cases of dominering women and subservient men is hardly the norm but an exception - an exception to the rule. The power in the choice of a partner or spouse lies mostly with the man and as is always said "it is the man who chooses a spouse, the woman only has right of refusal".

I agree that men should not be intimidated into settling for less, but no one should be intimidated into settling for less anyway. If you want a voluptuous woman, then go for it; you want a housewife, go for it; you want a wealthy man, go for it; you desire a six-packed man, go for it.

Only problem is that women have the little issue of biology to contend with while making these choices as they may not have the luxury of time - one that a man has in abundance.

FamilyRe: How Do I Stop A Woman Who Is Habitually Abusive To Her Daughter? by Tripitaka: 5:10pm On Jul 04, 2020
bukatyne:
Telling the husband who has lost the moral standing to address anything in the home would make the wife worse to the girl when the husband is not around.

The OP pokes his nose too much in their matter and the mother screams one day that the OP is 'trying' to rape her daughter. The OP's own don done be that.
At this juncture, there's nothing left to say.
FamilyRe: How Do I Stop A Woman Who Is Habitually Abusive To Her Daughter? by Tripitaka:
I do not think the woman's qualms is with the daughter; actually it is the man that she despises, the girl is simply collateral damage. She probably serves as a painful reminder to the mother of a terrible decision she took in marrying the father, worse so, the fact that you said she feels helpless. There is no anger worse than a subdued one, so you just unleash on the available target. Perhaps she got pregnant for the man and had to marry him. The pregnancy begot the girl. To her, if not for the girl, she won't be in such a beleaguered marriage as hers. This is my conjecture.

In a typical African family setting, there is a thin line between training and abuse, but somehow we have come to extol, normalize and institutionalize the latter. The popular line is "You cant love a child more than the parents", while forgetting that love is always conditional and can be predicated on certain enabling factors which if absent could point to a mirage of love. In the name of "training", a host of African parents bring to bear their marital frustrations, government vexation, perceived spiritual failings and financial inadequacies on their children and call it training.

What do I think you should do? The logical me would ask you to stay out of it; self preservation trumps every other need (I'm sure you've read of cases of false child rape). The emotional me on the other hand would ask you to talk to the woman, NOT the husband. If you talk to the man, it will further cause problems in their marriage and you will be blamed for it. Talk to the woman, tell her you understand how children of nowadays are (you can even lie that your nephew behaves in same way). But remind her that the girl is still young and would learn. You may also need to point out certain positive traits you've seen in the girl like how she does chores that other kids of her age may not be able to do.

In all, do not court controversies with your neighbours, its never a good thing. Unless you're up for it.
FamilyRe: The Oddest Lie A Pastor Or Imam Has Ever Told U Or Against U by Tripitaka: 1:13pm On Jun 26, 2020
SyrusdeHansome:
In my yr 2 as a Uniuyo student my mom called me one day to come over to the house. On getting there I met my mom in her room nd in the company of my paternal aunty discussing about me. Immediately they saw me they instantly stopped talking nd instead started gazing at me. After that moment of silence I summoned courage to ask her what the problem was and in her words she told me:
I accompanied ur aunty to one Orthodox church (name withheld) nd during their counseling session one of the pastors told me that u're keeping very bad companies in school nd that u will be initiated into a cult group this month that's y she called me. It was very funny because I know myself. I waited that month nd I wasn't initiated nd till I finished school nobody brought up the issue of initiation to me. Some prophets sha.

The second one happened in my yr 3.
One Friday my departmental sec invited me to their church tarry night program nd I was to play the keyboard sef. But the problem was that I had a test by 9am the following morning so I informed them earlier that I'll go back by 4am which the choir director agreed. By 4am I stood up to leave via the church front door and as i was about leaving I heard the pastor asking who is that young man that's leaving. So i immediately turned back to see the whole church fixing their eyes on me. I also saw my secretary trying to explain to him why I was leaving. After the explanation he commanded me through the mic to come nd get the answers to the test questions. And immediately he said that the whole church exploded in admiration of the pastor. They started calling him boastful names like: Jesus' mouth piece, prophet talk nd do, etc. After the uproar he started calling out numbers nd options like number 1 is A, no 2 is C till he got to number ten. Our sec was busy writing on my behalf. It was so funny because I don't bliv in prophecy, nd number 2 because my department can never set objective questions 4 test nd exams so I knew it was a fake prophecy. But I still collected the paper not because I couldn't oppose or disgrace the pastor but because I knew the law of power that States never outshine the master so I gave him his way. I later went to school nd wrote a theory test. The sec was ashamed when he saw me because he also helped the lecturer to supervise the test. Some church members are so gullible.

Pls share urs.

RomanceRe: by Tripitaka:
No thanks to our pocket motivational speakers.

Ignoring or wishing away a problem will never put it out of existence. Instead, it further complicates the inevitable decision making process. It is better to think and make a bad decision than sit back and let things go to ruins becaise we have erroneously chosen not to think about such problems.Thinking about a problem also sharpens the mind and elevates our rational thinking process.

Admittedly, there are times you should let things take their natural course, but this wouldn't work in every situation. Heck, the decision to let things take their natural course also involved thinking about the problem and reaching such conclusion anyway.

FamilyRe: A Man That His Wife Single Handedly Sponsored Their Marriage Is In Bondage by Tripitaka:
A woman never goes to pick a groom, it is the man who does this; the woman only has right of refusal. This is the traditional stance and he who seeks must provide. No man worth his onion should/would let a woman singlegandedly fund his wedding unless he is willing to (inevitably) wear the skirt in the marriage.

Weddings, aside the fanfare is a symbolic event and one whose organisation will probably set the tone for the marriage proper. I also can't help but wonder how a man who can't fund his own wedding plans to provide for his family.

In all of this Ella-Jaruma-Mercy-Venita brouhaha, the major takeaway is that a host of Nigerians lack integrity and are averse to accountability. If you do not want to give account of how you spent money, then make your own.

When people give you handouts, it behoves on you to give account of how it was dispensed and spent; you owe them that much. It's an obligation.

Accountability is essential to sustaining relationships and shows one to be a worthy steward whom can be trusted. Accountability is synonymous to integrity and the lack of which is a deal breaker in any relationship.

Mercy asked if she does drugs. That and the likes would be the only possible way one can spend millions of naira in a matter of days. I gave you money to tend to your mom, yet you won't let me see her, visit her nor even speak to her. If that isn't shifty, pray what is?

RomanceRe: Should I Break Up With Her Or Continue To Play Along With Her? by Tripitaka:
Let's take a look at it this way:

You're pricking one vagìna, while your girlfriend is gloriously riding two cócks.

Both you and your friends make financial contributions to her life, while she (typically) doesn't spend on you.

She has the enviable privilege of comparing and contrasting between you and your friend; a privilege you don't have.

You go to sleep at night bemoaning the betrayal while she sleeps preety.

So, how exactly are you using her? Before you refer to sex, know that both genders equally enjoy sex, just that one is more expressive than the other.

The day I won a scholarship organised by my Town Union in Lagos. The result was published on the same day we wrote the exams (to prevent any shady dealings).

It was around 3pm when they concluded proceedings and I called my dad to tell him I was one of the 3 successful candidates. He was still in the market then, Ladipo market. The moment I told him, he started shouting and calling out to his neighnours "heeei bia nu oo, nwa m win scholarship ooo", I bet out of excitement and elation he had forgotten I was still on call. He kept shouting and I could hear people beginning to gather round him.

Nothing beats making your parents proud. I'm overwhelmed by emotions whenever I remember that day.
