alabo1:And which laptop runs Android? Another example of pikin wey no fit read to comprehend. |
Apple sells an ecosystem. You own an iphone, a MacBook pro, an apple watch, airpods pro and maybe an ipad. When you own these devices and all connected to the same icloud account, you would understand the beauty of the ecosystem. Android and Windows PC users will never understand how an ecosystem works until they experience it. People who say apple devices don’t have value possibly dont know what value means or have no idea about how productivity can be increased if all your devices belong to an ecosystem. You take a picture on your phone and it is available on your pc. Or you are working on a document on your ipad and it is there on your phone. Or you are listening to music on your laptop via your airpods, you pick stand up to go outside to buy eggs and the music continues via your Apple Watch to stream into your airpods. Your messages come to all devices. Then you have full device tracking prevention plus the best privacy any system can offer for free. Many years ago, before I understood the apple ecosystem, i always yabbed apple too. Until i got my first iphone and I noticed that it was not obtrusive, then i got a MacBook pro and i saw the light. It was a rude awakening. There is a reason why most prodictive-minded people currently use Apple. For over 10 years, intel stagnated on processor design, just repolishing same specs, albeit increasing efficiency. Apple left old intel at the car park and went to develop their own silicon and revolutionized the industry with the M1 chip. Apple is in its own corner. Hate all you want. Nemo dat quod non habet. |
chim14:CockroachDB is a distributed SQL DBMS which i have used on a few of my projects and which simply works. If you can use PostgreSQL, you can use CockroachDB. This anal-drop-template-hawker thinks i am a scammer because his horizon is as short as a pig's eyelash. There is nothing wrong in learning new stuffs. Google is there to help you. However, when people search for your name on Nairaland, dumb comments like this would appear. You would now wonder why no serious person wants to give you a web dev job. Can you even deliver? You are angry because you can never be in our team. As e dey pain you, e dey sweet us, as e dey sweet us, e dey pain you. ![]() |
qtguru:Thanks bro. I appreciate your input |
chim14:I went through your profile. You are one of the noisemakers. Not a single tech value beyond reselling wordpress templates and themes. You could not even learn basic react, you had to find a chinko framework to patch up your html . You are angry simply because you do not fit in. So you decide you should bad-mouth everyone else who is trying to pull themselves up. I would spare you the koboko on this thread simply because this is a thread i created for serious minded people and i do not want ass-hairs like you to derail it. Mark my moniker and commit it to memory, ignore my posts if you have nothing concrete to say. We are not responsible for your penury. Have you collected the 8USD in payoneer? ![]() |
frank155:Depends on the inflows. Do you have a big ticket you want to share with us? |
chim14:Every serious tech guy would know that the requirements i listed above are the very basic for the stacks i mentioned. Which one is 'out of the world' here? When you start your own tech outfit, you can require your team to just know 'states and capital' Cheers |
truthCoder:Space still open for the unedited positions in the first post. |
I am setting up a tech team to handle projects. The team would need the following: Mobile App Developers: Flutter, Ability to integrate APIs , Frontend: Sveltekit with new directory based routes, Tailwind CSS, Git, Firebase, APIs, JAMstack deploys CSS: Must be able to replicate complex animations, designs or ideas Backend: NodeJS, Express, Heroku deploys, Postges, CockroachDB, Typescript, Firebase Graphics: Mobile and Web UI/UX Content Writers. Web Content, blogs and socials Reviewing Applications Structure: 100% remote at start. We collaborate on projects together. Take new jobs and share income (if any). There is no salary. Objective is to integrate the team into a start-up in future but for now, we share from the pool. Subject of your email is pac. This is to confirm you read through. Not a creche. You can still be learning but must be able to hold your stack. If interested, kindly mail me at truthcoder@protonmail.com sending your github link (if you have), project links (if any) and your WhatsApp number. Please do not send your email or whatsapp as a reply to this mail |
KufmanUyo:I should walk down to Ikot Expene? Bros, did i offend you? ![]() Nice set up. Happy sales |
CaneMint:The documentation alone big pass Bible in .length However, in summary, assume the following: Everyone is a thief who wants to gain access to your data illegally, so you must protect against them. Lock everyone out. Destroy every extra key. Dont have extra keys. Dont use 'password' as your DB password even during development. Na small small, craze dey become normal. Of all the people in the world, dont trust your user. They will try to mess up your data 99.9% of the time, validate, protect, authenticate. Encrypt and decrypt. Dont send messages that can guide your hacker eg "user does not exist" or "password incorrect". Instead, use a general message for all "authorisation failed". Na the user go know why e fail. MFA. Remove all your unnecessary logs. Dont store user tokens in local storage. use session store for cookies and expire them according to your org. policy Build a stateless system. Dont mix database, server, web, workers etc onto the same app. Balance your load. Restrict the number of potential requests by a client at any given period. Anything more than x requests per second na hack. Subject your application to exploit tests during dev. Plenty tools dey. As i said, e plenty.... that's just Genesis. |
dodgelord:Venture into a start up. Look for a problem, create the solution. Build, deploy and market. Even if you are not making anything from the project now, as long as it solves a problem and people use it, you are consistently building its goodwill. It would pay one day. Until you build a project that scales properly with at least 100,000 MAU, dont call yourself a good developer. |
Chenult:Many rubbish responses. Download cloudflare wrap. Set malware settings to block adult content. Simple |
Foreign investors are watching. No matter the dispute a governor has with a company, only legal means should be employed in resolving. This is one of the reasons why companies that are dependent on consistency, reliability, security and going concern guarantees shy away from Nigeria. Animalistic behaviors in business should be shunned Same Dangote operates without issues in other countries. Yahaya Bello could not go to court but chose to fight it out like it is boxing. Now they have taken him to school. |
emmancipated:2012 Pro can use two 8gb RAMs totalling 16gb. Thats how i ran mine. |
Deicide:Fintech projects involve more than having potentially market-ready models. You need licensing, integrations, marketing, deployments, regulatory fees, salaries and overheads etc Every single profitable startup eventually needs seed funding, something every venture capitalist knows. The OP asked a question and I answered him based on my exigencies. My team is already having discussions in the right channels. This posit is to widen our net cos…you can never know…. |
obawaya:If you can partner with $200,000 for a 40% stake , we can discuss. After signing an NDA and evidence of POF, then i can share details with you. Project core already written , domain registered, licensing discussions in process plus many other details not sharable here. |
SqueezedPant:Mid or late year 2012 Macbook Pro is the bomb. Upgrade RAM to 16gb and swap in an SSD. Install Mac OS Monterey via OCLP. Just dey enjoy your life jejely. You can also dual boot an Ubuntu or Linux Mint distro on it (Fedora is a touchy bitch on dual boot…installation menu could wipe your EFI access ) The 2012 MBP is better than many newer Windows Laptops The baba of them all is the 2015 MBP mid year. Force track pad, Retina, Low heat, Longer battery life. From 2015, you can jump straight to M1. |
TastyFriedPussy:You evidently have not gotten to the section on cookies and jwt in your tutorials. |
seborrhic:It is called spamming. The best solution is to report monikers that do such. It is against Nairaland rules. |
Azzrael:Do you eat fish? What fish would you recommend to someone who has not eaten fish before? Is your recommendation the best option for the person? Programming is like eating fish. Different people will advise you to pick different species. How are you sure that the one you chose is the one you really want? The approach i would advise is that you spend the next one month trying your feet in all flavours that you can find. Read, Watch, Practice. Yes, you would waste some time and resources but in the long run, you would be able to have a fair understanding of their trajectories and see if if blends with your personal vision. Dont also be afraid to drop one after investing time in it to pick another. Dont be shy to also go back to your vomit. If you just pick one and stick to it because mister A on NL said so, how would you be able to answer the question that your choice is actually your fit? |
Lampert505:Great. Nice ability to change colors. Touch counter works...would be great on mobile...i tested on a laptop though. Update Request: Make the 'counter reducer' not count into negative when it is at 0. Currently, if at 0, it starts counting -1, -2 etc Give the reset button an icon. Any plans on maintaining current count ? Local storage? When i refresh, it reverts to 0. Good job |
FahBuLous:Your main issue with this laptop would be the screen size. 11 inches is small for learning programming. Most of your time would be spent sharing the screen between a youtube tutorial and your open IDE. How do you want to share 11 inches and be able to read text on youtube? When you become good and dont need youtube, you would need your browser open as you code for liveserver....You need a bigger screen. When you decide not to have your browser on the side, then you would need to divide your IDE into two halves for multi tasking.... If you dont mind switching windows, then you can try...but after one week, you would understand. Get a 14 or 15 inch screen. The next issue would be the RAM. Your 4gb RAM should be upgradeable or else you would get bogged down very soon with open applications. Attached is a screenshot of my current workload. I have the following open: VS Code for the NodeJs server i am currently building. Firefox Developer Edition (one tab) Orion Browser (4 tabs) Safari Browser (18 tabs) Microsoft Edge (1 tab) Message app Terminal Twitter app Whatsapp App Postgres App Mail App Activity Monitor Some processes (like stat etc) is running in the background and Lagbaja is singing on Spotify. I am currently not running the client. I am consuming around 70%+ of my 16gb RAM plus some swap memory.I also have over 4gb cached files in memory. You might say you dont need so much open at a time but believe me, 8gb is better than 4gb. 16gb is better than 8gb. etc Leave the 4gb laptops to those who want to watch Netflix on the bed. I would advise you sacrifice touchscreen if it would save you some more money and use it to get a more practical system. You really dont need touchscreen for now. If it is a gift or the price is so low that it looks like a steal, then you can take it but have it in mind that you might want to sell as time progresses. Cheers

udemzyudex:Can you move on already? This thread is to educate people on the proper way to use softwares. Recommending cracked softwares is exactly the attitude we want to avoid especially in this period where cyber espionage is at an all time high. Peoples' details are being sold on the dark web and the simple question that sane people would be asking is....how did they get these data? If a nefarious individual wants to start a data mining server. What steps would he take? He either sets up a phony VPN, broadcasts cracked softwares, set up free wifi hotspots in public places etc. There are many ways to harvest. Your illiterate mash of brain cells would not know this because all you have done is remove HDDs and replace them with SSDs whilst installing one cracked version of Windows all for 5000 naira. You dont know anything about what is in the OS you just installed. Instead of you to learn, what do you do? You are everywhere shouting 'cracked software is the best'. How would you feel if your client is building a fintech application with the laptop you just installed an infected software and his tokens which are stored in a file on the laptop is accessed by some north korean boys and they wipe all funds or cryptos? Do you even know the implication of using such softwares? Do you know you can be jailed for using pirated softwares? You will open your mouth gbwaaaaaaaa like stapler online and just spew from your shallow well. Can you just find another thread ? As i said, this is above your capacity. Nonsense and ingredients. |
udemzyudex:You cannot hide your ignorance. Open source softwares have their codes available for open scrutiny. This means you cannot hide a trojan in an open source code and expect people smarter than you not to see it. With closed source platforms (Adobe, Word etc) you cannot see proprietary codes except you are in-house or use in-house means. With cracked softwares, you are getting proprietary codes that have been modified to the whims of the software cracker. He can decide to add 0, 1 or 100 trojans if he wishes before sealing the box. It is like a used tech condom from a russian guy and wearing it on your ignorant phallus, sperm and virus et al without even knowing what you are getting. First, learn what is open source then come back to have conversations on this topic. It is very clear you are just an HDD swapper with no understanding of how softwares work. Your comments show how shallow in knowledge you are. @ GloriousGbola was right about you. |
