seunmsg: You lack knowledge about how the finances of the country works.
The cost cutting measures introduced by PMB will only free up more resources that the federal government can use to fund its developmental projects in the country. It has nothing to do with the federation account that belongs to the entire federation. The federal government funds it's activities from the Consolidated revenue fund and not the federation account. Any cost cutting measure will affect the CRF and not the federation account.
The $20billion stolen by GEJ, Alison Madueke and other rogues in the GEJ administration have not been recovered and so cannot be a part of the federation account yet. You wailers are the ones shouting that the corrupt ridden GEJ administration should not be probed so, I wonder who you are trying to deceive. After recovering all the alleged stolen money if possible will it improve our economy? Well you mentioned using the money in building infrastructure, bt is it what we realy need considering the present state of our economy? Am yet to see any economy policy by this goverment geared to improve the economy of this country. There is urgent need to divert our economy from unstable oil product to a more stable product. Oil price is fast declining due to innovative technology, unconventional oil can now be produced as a result of this, there is so much oil in the market and the price will keep coming down. What happens if the oil price falls below our budget benchmark? Will we keep on adjusting our budget benchmark until we run out of idea? We need to diversify our economy. What we need is a good economy policy not too much emphasy and energy on probe. While the later will bring sanity and recover our fund, it will never bring food on our table. |

I am a community leader in my area and I am ready to fight ibos through all possible means be it militarily, legally, fiscally and all what not as it has now dawned on all Yoruba's that we have been harbouring in enemies in our land.
I am ready to contribute whatever amount to advance the Yoruba cause as I just can't seem to stomach the insults anymore. People that knw me on this board will agree win me that I have been absent for a while because I promised not to get involved with tribal war going on in the politics section but the constant, unnecessary and vexatious insults of the biafrans aimed at denigrating the hospitable yorubas made me log back on just this afternoon to give a retort and sound a note of warning to the ibos to tread with care on this war mongering on the internet as you never know who's online watching and reading all the insults against peace loving Nigerians.
if the ibos want to secede, there are veritable mechanisms to adopt via the United Nations through which self determination can be achieved. I thank God Biafrans have now created a forum for themselves to discuss their secession plans hence we can be rid of the nuisance they constitute on his board.
This is a friendly advice which I urge all discerning ibos to adopt in order to avoid another genocide. You just succeeded in making another empty noise. Whatever you will do, keep it within you. Stop ranting! |

It does not matter the amount of 'truth,' it carries in its wake. It breeds enmity. It destroys even the validity of the message. And it only ends up poisoning the soul.
The question is why does Nnamdi Kanu have to lace his so-called truth with hate and vitriol?? Is he the only one that preaches hate and instigates tribes? Is it because he can be heard true his media. Are u aware of the utterances made by a renowned monarch against another tribe before the just concluded election? Are you also aware of a call for genocide on a certain tribe by some group of people during the election period? Even people in this forum spew rubbish against some tribes. We are all guity of tribalism and hatred that's the truth about it. The earlier we realize our differences the better for us. If a team does not agree the can never progress no matter how intelligent, skillful and endowed they are. |

azimibraun: I don't know what you are trying to say because of the incoherence of your write up, Especially the topic. But I will still try to help you make a sense of it. Some of us are too educated and enlightened to take Mr Nnamdi Kanu seriously over his deranged and renegade ways. His modus operandi is getting serious igbo men, women and youths irritated. Self actualization cannot be gotten through Hate speeches from an Obscure Radio station you know. There are UN guidelines and established Mechanisms for self actualization becouse it's not criminal to seek independence so long as you meet the requirements. Why is Mr Kanu in 2015 not exploring modern and acceptable means of getting Biafra and taking everybody back to the very dark days. South Sudan and Eritrea I guess are the 2 most recent countries to gain independence in Africa. Did he bother to do. Study on how they went about it? Nigeria was under colonial rule and south Africa too. Thesame Britain that colonized Zimbabwe but we all got our independence differently. South Africa with some level of violence because of Apartheid, Nigeria got what is called a" Gentail Nationalism " it was very peaceful and had both the British and Nigerians smiling on the day of our independence. Now the question is this; are the igbos through Nnamdi Kanu t war with the rest of Nigeria? No! Are they under Apartheid rule? No! Have they followed the UN approved means for self actualization one of which is a "Referendum"? No! Because at this moment it's simple to see Majority of the Igbos don't think the Madman calling the rest of Nigeria " the Zoo" and making some non- easterners call the east " the Wild" is representing them. When you see a Nation who wants their own country you will know. Nnamdi Kanu is defrauding few unenlightened Igbos of millions of dollars and Naira over what is practically Unachievable. Don't think is unachieveable. Ideology never dies, one day the may achieve it. Talking about refrendum they cannot achieve it without media and international publiciity. That explains the essence of their media outfit. Nothing is impossible, the may achieve it. |

[quote author=mrrights post=37508306]TRUTH ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH – Abdulrazaq O Hamzat http://mrrights.com.ng/index.php/2015/08/30/truth-alone-is-not-enough-abdulrazaq-o-hamzat/Some years ago, a speech i delivered in a programme was titled ‘’The Truth About Nigeria’’. That paper was published on several online media platforms. In that speech, I stated that, truth is the solution to all problems, without it, no measure works. I went ahead to state that, truth must never be substituted if we truly want to progress as a nation. This is so because, when we avoid telling the truth, that is when the nation crumbles upon itself. I pointed out further that, some people might tell half truth in some cases, but even with that, progress would be delayed, because when we avoid telling truth as it should be told, we are preventing progress as we should progress. After observing and learning from events as they unfold in the country, it occurred to be that, truth alone is not enough. It must be accompanied with mercy and reconciliation. We must all develop the habit of having mercy with each other and being able and willing to reconcile our differences. We must not continue to live as friendly enemies, suspecting each other of certain ulterior motives every time. Rather, we must improve our relationship to that of partners, always struggling to make our relationship work better. Lederach (1997) said- “Truth and Mercy have met together. Justice and Peace have kissed”. The above analogy by Laderach was used as themes to guide one in better understanding the components that aid long lasting reconciliation. He concluded in his finding during his workshop in the Peace Commissions in Nicaragua thus: “Without the person of truth, conflict will never be resolved. Yet, truth alone leaves us naked, vulnerable and unworthy.” He went further that, on Mercy, images emerged of compassion, forgiveness, acceptance and a new start. Without the person of mercy, healthy relationships would not be possible. Without compassion and forgiveness, healing and restoration, would not be possible. Yet, mercy alone is superficial because it covers up too quickly. Then came the role of reconciliation. Reconciliation is a procedure that moves us away from hatred and prejudice of the past towards building structures and procedures for establishing durable peace with adversaries once groups have entered a post-settlement phase (Ackerman, 1994). It is a process that restores broken relationships of those who have been estranged from one another by conflict to create a community again. Reconciliation begins with the restitution between the injured and the injurer, and reciprocity is essential. Going back to my speech titled ‘’The truth about Nigeria, let me reproduce some parts of that speech so you can understand my thought on this subject better. I took it upon myself to talk about truth, because I see it as the beginning and the ending of our challenges as a nation. Some people have opined that, inefficient leadership, corruption, unemployment and others are major problems facing Nigeria, but what I consider as the major problem holding us down is the lack of truth and sincerity. If the leaders are truthful, they would lead truthfully, and if the followers are truthful, they would support nothing but the truth. But again, where is the truth in our leaders and even we,the followers? Without any doubt, successive events in the country have shown that,Nigerian leaders have with time, shaped citizens reasoning to their way of thinking for easy exploitation, making it almost impossible to reason properly without a trace of sentiment and sectionalism. 99 percent of our leaders are fakes with no single trace of public consideration while in office, they only hide under the banner of North and South to deceive the populace. Since ethnicity in our part of the world has been positioned by these leaders to be seen as the only guarantor of personal security, they ride under this tent to continue their deceit to seek re-elections or appointments. No wonder their was public outcry after President Buhari made some appointments few days ago.Its all about appointments for these set of leaders. Quote You were writing well, but the last two sentences show how insensitive you are on our political dispensation. You don't see anything wrong with Buhari loopsided appointment as you may not see anything wrong on his 5%. Statement. Nigeria has six geopoltical zone, how does it look that more than 18 appointments given no appointment has come 2 a particular zone? Don't tell me that more lists r coming cos they key ones have been given. When there is a loopsideness in a multi ethnic country like Nigeria, people will complain without the leaders inciting them. Rise up and say the truth, stop blaming your leaders. They shd'nt control ur thought. We are always conscious of the truth wether we like it or not. |

The selfish Biafran ideology does not come across as the same as Oron's ideology I've described above. And who told you that Oron is small? is Nigeria as developed as Monaco,Taiwan or Singapore? Can Nigeria defeat Singapore in a war?Qatar is just the same size as Akwa Ibom.Oron nation Territory is three times larger than Singapore and has a potential for expansion by river and ocean land reclamation. There are 16 nations way smaller than Oron. Size has nothing do with it. Vatican city (Rome ) is just 100 acres and yet it's so popular. Monaco is so small @400 acres and even has no space for airport. Barbados,Bahamas,ST Kitts&Nevis, etc. are small nations .Plus,Oron is one of the wealthiest nations in the world if it were autonomous. Fight for your igbo nation and don't include or worry about any other nation, unless the nation willingly joins you. The truth is that not everybody want to be subordinate for ever. Many south south people want total freedom. Not a situation where a Tribe (igbo) who believe they are born to rule all the south south minority we put us into to complete extinction. Hausa Fulani is not our problem. The problem of Niger Delta is Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa. To me Hausa people have some respect and regard for others even when power is with them. But Igbo will threat others as semi-human being if you give them that opportunity.
History has teach many wise south south people Igbo are the worst set of Nigerians to give absolute power to. The attrocity and genocide committed by the Igbo on south south minority during the civil war is still fresh in some peoples mind. You might have forgotten others have not.

MadCow1: Wow.. E don tey sha..
You got it right, for oil accumulation to occur, you need the presence of structural or stratigraphic traps, a semi - permeable membrane and pressure.
The other fellow spoke about the age of the formations found on the Nigerian side if the basin being younger than that found in the same basin in the territorial regions of neighbouring countries. Well, the age of the Rock may be I portal for formation but not for migration and entrapment.
The truth is that the Geology of the basin supports the hypothesis that has led to the search. The basin is constituted of a mix of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks (mostly shale and sandstones). The general Idea is even that the oil in the Niger Delta flows (flowed) down from the chad basin through the Benue through and settled here. Yeah.. That's the academic hypothesis we were told. So the hope is that should they find 1 good trap in the basin, they may discover a stack of oil.
I am of the feeling they may get lucky. There is no reason not to search.
Truth is, I hope they find some, more money for Nigeria and maybe the north will finally enjoy what oil producing communities in the south south are enjoying. From your academic hypothesis, if the general idea is that oil flows from Chad Basin to Niger Delta, it then means that Chad Basin formation does not possess the characteristic for oil to accumulate which are reservoir trap, porosity and permeability. In other words, all the efforts, and money NNPC have been investing in Chad basin will be a monumental waste going by your academic hypothesis. |
