My Landing Gist

I got PPR on 1st of Feb and sent my passport through vfs lagos on 7th.  It took 2 months for my passport to return due to the whole Accra timelime plus my passport photo got misplaced in transit.

I had booked my flight shortly after PPR came because I thought passport will be stamped and returned in 6weeks , I had to reschedule the flight.

I booked a return ticket for 475k and later rescheduled for a fee of 44k

For those wondering why a return ticket I needed it to apply for PTA, upon return of my passport from Accra I applied for PTA and 3days to my flight 4k dollars was approved and disbursed to me at 419 per dollar. I will open my return flight and use it whenever I'm ready to visit Nigeria

I booked my flight with Ethiopia Airlines,  arrived airport by 10am on 22nd April, Nobody searched my luggage which was surprising. The immigration guys just wished me well. I went to the check in counter and did all the necessary things .

Flight was for 1:20pm but we left some minutes to 2pm. Flight to Addis Ababa was smooth, less than 2hrs layover then we proceeded to Dublin where we landed just to refuel and then final lap to Canada YYZ.

I didn't spend up to 1hr at YYZ from the point of disembarking to exit home.  Everything was straightforward and smooth, no queue at immigration,  got my luggage in time and my friend came to pick me . The ride home was less than 20mins and that was it.

Monday I went to service Canada for my SIN, opened my bank account and got my mobile number.

I'm grateful to God for the entire PR process which I started in Dec 2019 and for this new phase I have entered in Canada, grateful for the information and guidance on this platform. Special thanks to a member of this forum that assisted me when I needed to pay for my RPRF with a credit card.

I wish everyone still in this PR process all the best. May it end in Landing stories for us all.

Cheers.

Best of luck and hopefully you'll campaign against buying a ticket before receiving passport + COPR. It just places one under some kind of pressure

Hi all, pls I have a question.

Sometimes in 2018 I and my family had a Visa refusal to the US. We however have started this Canadian journey afterwards. In every forms and details we have filled and given, we did not include the Visa refusal because we just thought it wasn't necessary.

My question now is; is there a need to inform IRCC about the refusal and if we do at this point won't it be seen a misrepresentation?
Below is our timeline:

AOR Oct 3rd 2021
Schedule A request 8th March 2022
GU 25h April 2022(no visible change)
They'll most likely find out due to the Five eyes or Five Country Conference (FCC) forum they are both members of and share immigration information among each other (US, Uk, Canada, Australia, New Zealand). What's your reason for hiding it from them though ? I don't know if this falls under misrepresentation

Good morning house, I just realised that my EE profile will expire next month. So I need the following clarifications:

1. I am currently in Canada on a visiting Visa. Should I withdraw my EE application and create another one and state my country of residence as Canada? I have been in the pool since last year.

2. Should I use the new portal instead of the old GSkey portal? I have checked the new portal from which I applied for my visit visa but didnt see where I could start an application for EE.

Thank you very much.
Your question is funny but assuming you dont know you cant be a resident of canada with a visit visa

No disadvantage as its cheaper with a generous luggage allowance and a network of flights in nigeria.

I don't know if you have any idea about BTA. I plan to book Airpeace for going, and Emirate for return.
Does using a different airline qualify as return ticket when applying for BTA?
Please use same airline for going and coming. The banks are looking for one million reasons to deny their customers PTA and they will use this. Happened to me in 2017

ClintonEmex:
One thing that has kept Nigeria behind and unprogressive is tribalism and sentiments.

What Reno is indirectly saying here is that PDP should give Atiku the flag because he's from the North and not Peter Obi, cos the Northerners will prefer to vote for their own despite Obi being much better in every ramification.

But I think Buhari's regime should have opened many people's eyes to the truths and realities of things. What Nigeria has gone through in the hands of Buhari should have made virtually everyone to know that what matters is competence and true leadership.

Peter Obi is the best candidate so far from the PDP, he's someone with a track record of success. He's like a coach that has good record in his former team and will most likely replicate his performance in the next and bigger team.

In the PDP we have Obi and in the APC we have Osinbajo, these are men that will offer hope and brighter things to Nigeria. They're not power drunk or selfish, they're there to salvage the situation on ground unlike their older counterparts who just wants to rule for ruling sake. Anyone of them that takes the mantle of leadership will take Nigeria to a better and greater heights.

People should stop taking us backwards by talking about regions and tribes, we're past that stage of voting out of sentiments. Look for the best candidates and vote for them irrespective of tribe, color and religion. Make Nigeria a better place, we're bitterly far from our mates in the world due to bad leadership. Stop suffering others because of your selfish interest.
Peter obi cannot win the presidential election for pdp and that is the fact. Election is a mathematical game not an emotional one. Been seeing posts on Twitter and here regarding Peter obi emerging Pdp’s presidential candidate & I am yet to see how an opposition party will win a ruling party by zoning its ticket to a zone with lowest voting strength

I did not see Magnus Abe’s signature on that document thus I believe APC will either have to allow the candidates test their popularity in a primary election or risk not participating in the election because once Magnus abe starts his fight even those contesting for other positions will lose out

Everybody is advised to stay off London. They are not responding to Nigerian's passport because it's not under their jurisdiction. They are presently giving a timeline of 8 weeks or more. Some people have started requesting for their passport to be returned. It's a messed up process already.
Nothing messed up about it. People acted out of desperation which backfired. Accra processes in 4 - 5 weeks

Send your passport to the nearest VFS office as stated in the PPR. For applicants in Nigeria VFS Abuja , Lagos and Accra are the nearest . People should learn to adhere to simple instructions. London VFS has its jurisdiction and has decided to focus on applications from areas within its jurisdiction

I share a different opinion with you and I’m from rivers state. Governance in the 21st century has gone beyond constructing bridges and roads as well as schools. Those are just cosmetic activities that anyone with the kind of revenue rivers state gets can do. Youth unemployment rate is very high in rivers state as businesses continue to prefer operating out of Lagos. Education and healthcare seems to be way below standard. I have not heard of any major business player coming out of rivers state. The few who are rivers state indigenes were based else where and built their businesses elsewhere. This is a reflection of the state of rivers today. Wike cannot stand shoulder to shoulder with fashola , ambode or even sanwo-olu.
As an indigene of rivers state, Lagos was my entry point into nigeria and despite the day-to-day difficulties residents of Lagos encounter I benefited from the economic opportunities lagos offered right from my first month as a youth Corp member. These opportunities are not available in port harcourt today even 6 years after I completed nysc . This is just one example

Most especially in Lagos. What you find strange in the west is a norm on Nigeria
If I’m to put in real terms my colleague was earning 18.5M per annum when he told me this. His rent was 1M per annum but he was bugged down with maintaining a full house where he had his in-laws living with him and was involved in multiple projects ( farm project , house building, loans …).

On the social side it was not abnormal to go out in VI & spend 250k a night with these colleagues and when I order a cocktail they tell me to stop behaving like a Brit . Secondly these loan companies always came around offering all kinds of packages at 2.5% to 3% interest rate per month and made it easy for people to buy used Mercedes & electronics while the naira was dwindling. I believe Prudence is not part of the culture in Lagos & people worry so much about how others perceive their appearance

For me the downside was loneliness , away from family, expensive, overly efficient. The plus side was that I learnt how to cook, I learnt to be prudent & financially disciplined, independent, visited many countries as travelling isn’t a luxury and learnt new skills.
Efficiency means you have to be on time , you have to meet deadlines.
When I moved to nigeria for nysc/work in 2015 I felt like the average Nigerian man was financially reckless. A colleague told me when his rent is due he transfers whatever he has to his landlord and I found that strange . Failure to meet contractual agreements in the west is a big red flag and can affect your credit rating. Also noticed people

Good day to you all,

Please my wife was added to my application during the long pandemic wait period (via web form) and my profile was finally updated in February 2022.

We were both asked to do medicals (remed for me actually) and same has since being done and MEP on 17th March.

However, there has been no update since then, just frustrating silence

Will she be required to do biometrics and if so how long does it usually take before we receive a response on the next move

Also, could there be anything being the cause of the delay??
The process is still a bit slow. From my observation RROC visa office is clearing out backlogs really quickly but applications seem to be getting stuck after PPR where a change in individual circumstances is present. Adding spouse , child … after PPR requires a bit more patience

Their is a lot of job opportunities here in Russia, as of yesterday I went for this job opportunity but I was disqualified because I don’t know how to speak RUSSIAN. And the pay is p45,000 rubles which is 500usd

The only way you can Japa is through Study visa. Pls don’t let agent deceive you with work visa or any other visa.

Student visa is the best visa you can use to relocate you have rights just like their citizens

Russia visa is 3month but least the consulate can give you is 2 months visa and once you are in the country it can be prolonged…

Russia have 14 borders to china, Finland ETC.

Their are some universities that offers free education or scholarships for MSc students

And their are schools that has cheap and affordable tuition for BSc student also; so you have to make your research and find out more

First step to get a Russia student visa is

1. First and know the school you wanna apply write to them via their website and email them.

1a. Don’t just email one school, keep sending emails to different schools definitely one or two will reply your mail.

2. Legalized your documents Russia embassy

Documents to legalized are:
Waec
Neco
Bsc degree
Etc

Russia schools accept half tuition payment depending on your school once you have paid your fee the immigration in Russia starts processing your IV which is your invitation letter to use to apply for visa in the embassy either in Nigeria or any country you have your residency.
Point of correction you can get permanent residence visa to canada from your village even. I got mine from my house via the express entry without even going to the canadian high commission. I wrote IELTS, got my degree verified through WES website and applied on the canadian government website . Biometric enrollment was done at VFS. The notion that you can only relocate via study is wrong. You can also relocate via work. I know two guys that got recruited by KPMG UK and PWC canada in 2021. There are more opportunities in the western world than in Nigeria but one has to relocate properly. Securing a B1/B2 visa to USA and relocating with it poses a lot of challenges when you arrive in USA as most jobs require the applicant possessing a permission to work. But then again people are different . This is just my opinion

It's basically both updated POF and 6 month statement. Not sure how to go around it without using a gift deed. What are other recommended options that give a better than 50% chance, and can be done remotely for someone not currently in Nigeria

See the exact request below

"Funds, proof: Proof of funds Please provide updated proof of funds and the bank statement showing the history of deposits and withdrawals for the last six months. Please, provide your average account balance for the past 6 months and a written explanation for the source of funds available for settlement in Canada. Also, please declare if you have any outstanding debts or loans."

As it is you'll need to provide 6 months bank statement. If funds are not available for the 6 months add a convincing letter of explanation. One of the advice we get out there as regards proof of funds is to make sure the funds are not usedall through the duration of the application but if a need arises a little amount can be spent out of it and returned during the 30 day window if and when they ask for it. Most people don't get to submit POF twice but we just can't tell who will get the POF ADR.

Hi everyone,

If IRCC sent an ADR for an updated POF, can one use another Deed of Gift for the POF? Note that a Deed of Gift was used for the entire funds required during the initial PR application in November 2020. However, there is currently little money in the account, so can a new Deed of Gift for the entire funds required (#4.5m) be used again? Is this an issue based on the experiences of those that have been asked to submit an updated POF recently? Please advice on the best action to take. Thank you.
Is it updated POF or 6 months statement ? It will all depend on the visa officer or visa office processing your file. If you had previously obtained a gift deed it means someone gave you the money as a gift. If the money has been spent a visa officer may want to question why the person is giving you another gift. Some visa officers may not worry. its a 50-50

Since the FSW draws have refused to start, I've already changed my plans by going via the study route, I'd be submitting my visa application within the next few days. My SOP is ready but I don't know if you can help review it before submission. Hope to hear from you. Thanks
Hope you re going for an advanced degree (masters or PhD) and have also explored all PNP options . The reason I'm asking is:
1. Study route is expensive and will be cheaper if you first secure a PR as you will pay domestic fees and not international student fees.
2. Undergrads in canada struggle to get PR. They usually dont have enough points to compete in the FSW pool

The SW has never demanded for the ceding of the party’s ticket to the zone. Our position is in-line with the position of the Southern governors forum. The presidency should come to the south and all interested southerners should compete for it. It is that simple and straightforward.

Vanguard and those sponsoring this kind of unfounded report should give it a rest. They have lost already. APC presidential ticket is going to the south and the SW will contest for it.

The SE should join Wike and other reasonable SS governors to make the same demand in PDP and stop trying to play the role of a bitter and scorned spoiler for the rest of the south.
Nobody from the south in PDP today can defeat the incumbent APC government. Get the presidency first then talk about zoning/power sharing after. Wike that is making noise cannot pull any national support even if he clinches the party ticket.

I told somebody the same thing. Unfortunately Nigerians can be selfish and will dance to the tune of whoever has money. The moment wike leaves that seat he will be irrelevant in national politics. I’ve also noticed that all the governors from 1999 (odili, amaechi and now wike ) have always used the state funds to finance and promote their interest in national politics
