If you are going to assess, make sure you at least search through this page and also post your profile for reviews.
Although there are no guarantees as we are not assessment assessors but we can provide guidance based on previous assessments and help avoid loss.

Pls could u assist with my post up there ..
Unfortunately, there is no reassessment that can change the decision due to the reason previously stated.
Your best option is to look through the occupation list together and search for occupation that your husband can assess.

I will appreciate quick response from you guys
What’s your status?

This would determine the advise I can give

Hello please is this site legal? Cos am being requested to make some payment https://www.immigrationsaustralia.com.au
It’s legal but it’s an agency’s website and not the Australia immigration website.
Don’t waste your time with them
This is Australia immigration website

Always look out for “.gov.au”

Good evening everyone, please help me with these questions. Thanks

1. Can I apply for a students visa while waiting for a grant on another visa subclass i.e 489?
2. If a migration lawyer who does not have a valid MARN number helps in the application process of a client, does it in anyway affect the application negatively?
3. If an applicant is not comfortable/satisfied with the services of a migration lawyer, can he discontinue the contract with the agent and hire someone else even after visa application has been made?
4. Are there applicants of visa subclass 489 who are getting visa grants of recent or did the discontinuation of the subclass affect people who already applied before it was abolished? Is this subclass still of priority to home affairs or they’ve fully shifted focus to subclass 491?
5. Are there people who applied for 489 offshore with the skill; Multimedia Specialist, who have gotten grants or contact in recent time?
6. Do you think it’s normal to have stayed for over 26 months without getting even a contact from a CO?
1. No. Cos the 489 is a skilled migrant visa and your intent on student visa is to return to your home country which will be negated by your application of a skilled visa 489 which has the ability to proceed to permanent visa after 2 years.

2. First of, don’t contract someone who is not a registered MARA to apply on your behalf. Even a migration lawyer is expected to have a MARA license. To your question, I don’t think it would affect your application negatively but I’d advise against that.

3. This will be based on the contract you signed. If the contract allows, you may be able to but moving to another agent is one of the hardest things to do especially if that clause is not well stated in the signed agreement. You will need your application details to be able to transfer. It can be messy.
If you are currently having issues with the agent/lawyer you are using, you can report the person to MARA or ombudsman or the legal association in the lawyer’s state

4. Yes, few grants have been dropping here and there. The discontinuation has no effect. Visa grants have generally been slow since the pandemic.

5. Grant is not by occupation. DHA does not work with any known format.

6. Yes, people have waited for longer. Grants were recorded yesterday, so let’s hope there will be more in the coming days/weeks.

Dereformer:
Check the current Skill Occupation List

For accountants, you have:

A. Accountant (General)

B. Management Accountant.

C. Finance Managers

All assessed by CPAA, CAANZ.

Accounting is the next profession with the least unemployed graduate besides medicine and surgery worldwide.

Please stop coming online to say what you know nothing about.
An occupation being on the occupation list does not guarantee nomination. Accounting is currently the most competitive course for Australia migration. And there is a long wait, although there is nothing impossible but if you have other options or countries, I’d advise you jump at it before spending AUD on Phd Accounting.

Wonderful jobs guys!

Wow....information boku here..

However, me, I have no experience outside my business experience but would like to go for the shortage occupations I saw on https://www.anzscosearch.com/skills-priority-list/... like Aviation maintenance or Plumbing and even my current one which is a software engineer on a Training visa... anyone know what other visa category sustainable enough I could go for?
And anyone with info on school that offers these courses for free or very cheap?

I heard of a Christian school from an old friend before we lost contact, anyone knows anything about this?

Your response is needed here, great people on this thread.

Thanks a lot.
Free course? I dont think there is anything like that for international students except you are referring to full scholarships. THis is usually for PhD students.
Why training visa though?

I am a veterinarian and my wife is a medical physicist, we are planning to migrate to Australia.
My question is this,
What type of visa will best work for us?
Is it possible to apply for both 189 and 190 at the same time?
You can apply for both, but you both need assessments first.
Start from the first page to understand process

Hello House, My cousin brother tried applying for Australia visa years back and he was banned for 3 years. it is now 5 years, can he re-apply and what is his chances?
He can re-apply. Previous ban would not have effect as long as the previous ban is not related to a sexual or terrorism crime and he is honest in his new application

Thanks for the Information. I have an academic ielts that will expire October though It's competent, so I won't claim any point.
I would suggest you put in for a new one and get a better score. Having less points in this era where there has been slow movement leading to many people waiting in line, you don’t want to miss out by having competent English or a lower point.

If my IELTS is valid when applying for ITA and expires before getting ITA, do I need a new IELTS?. Must my IELTS be valid during visa application if I already have ITA?
Yes.
yes

You English test must be valid at the time you submit your visa application. There was a recent change during the pandemic for 887 that requested that English test must be valid as at the time the CO picks one's application but it was removed.
So validity should be at the time your paid visa application fee.

But I don't think there is any State that doesn't include experience as part of their requirements. If there any, you can point it out.

Any way, this is where grace will come to play. I might end up getting 189 even with low score of 70.
It depends on the occupation. If you have good points with less experience points, some states like SA may consider.
At the moment, it's a stiff competition but I am hopeful the requirements will become lesser in the new year.
If the Federal goverment can increase the skilled migration quota for the year, that may reduce the shortage currently being experienced.

My fear is that application window for NSW regions opens and closes in January. The next one will be in March when my IELTS will be expiring.
You should start preparing to take the test again as the possibility of using the same result to apply for visa is slim. The application window opens for few weeks, thereafter you get a pre-invite and 14 to apply for nomination then NSW reviews your application before giving you ITA. This process may take up to 2 months or less and your IELTS result may no longer be valid as at that time.
So make hay while the sun shines.

I think I was not clear about why I would prefer a mobile number. I am not in Australia yet. Currently in Canada and I suspect it looks "weird" to prospective employers that I have a landline number on cv.

I had a call from one prospective employer/recruiter and she asked if I was in Australia - lol. I know there could be a thousand and one reasons why she may have asked that, but I have an inkling it was because of the phone number. It was the first question she asked when I answered the call.
It’s not weird as it’s a standard question to ask if you were in Australia. Even when you are here, you will still be asked your location during interviews. Also if you don’t have Australian experience in your cv, that also gives an inkling as to your location.
Does your cv have an Australian address also or you didn’t put any address on it?

They are virtual landline numbers and not mobile numbers.

The mobile code is Aussie is 04. None of the Skype numbers start with 04. I could be wrong but I have not seen one yet.
I just reconfirmed now. The numbers are landline numbers but has no issue with that. Landline calls are always enabled on all mobile plans.

@tunlex01,

Thank you so much. I am grateful.

My budget is 600K - 850K.

Adelaide is also on my radar. In fact, I would prefer Adelaide to Sydney but my wife is concerned about having enough of "our own ppl" around our kids in school. You know what I mean.
With that budget, you may not get anything close to 1 and half hours to CBD.
I haven’t heard/read of a school with concentration of our own people anywhere even in Sydney because children attend schools close to where they live.
Your kids will still be a minority population in any of the schools. Adelaide is even still closely knitted unlike Sydney that’s huge and our own people are scattered across the state.

Just discovered that My skill- Multimedia Specialist is on the Priority List (PMSOL) yet, I wasn’t given priority in visa processing all this while. I’ve been waiting for 489 since September 2019. Any idea why this is happening and is it wise to send a mail to home affairs asking why my visa hasn’t been granted for this long even while my skill is on priority list.
Please help
There are many people whose occupations are on the PMSOL, it hasn’t changed anything especially if your application is not PR visa.
Raise a complaint and your CO may be in a good mood to respond.

Hello fellow Aussies,

I am planning to migrate from Canada to Australia and I have secured the Aussie PR already. Yes, I prefer warmer weather to staying indoors most of the time during the year - love the outdoor life.

My question is - what are some of the best places to buy a house 45mins - 1hr from the Sydney CBD? I will sell my house in Canada and move the funds to Aussie. I am hoping to rent for some time(maybe a year) until the new build is ready. I am guessing that is how long it might take. I could be wrong.

I have a young fam so I am looking for a safe neighbourhood with very good schools. I am looking for a new build/construction.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I will be doing an internal transfer from my current company to the branch in Australia.

Thank you in adv for the assistance.
For clarification, what’s your budget range? Your budget will determine if 45-1 hour will fit into what you want.
With the Covid lockdowns and unforeseen circumstances, 1 year is a reasonable allowance.
I live in Adelaide but I have asked a few friends in Sydney and will give you a feedback when I get their responses.
