There is no right or wrong answer.
This is what I did in my case.
I did my research and rated the two countries using several parameters. These parameters were based on my preferences, personality and experience.
You should do same and see which one is better for you.

Yes both naira and dollar card should work. Perhaps it's the card you are using that has issues. You may contact your bank

Hello everyone, while assessing with vetasses iscit compulsory for the university to send both verified cert and transcript via courier, can I send them myself after collection?

I can't give a definite answer cos my school sent mine.
If the document has been sealed by uni , I'll suggest you send it from any courier company inside your school.

Kudos to the pioneers of this thread and also the previous threads. The information shared Here has really helped me and others in understanding the process however, my case is quite different.

I am 35, dropped out of school but later in life I was able to write and pass 6 professional IT courses, and I was lucky enough to work with these qualifications and gained working experience (8 years+) in my field (ICT Business Analyst)

I am also married with 1 kid and my wife is 31, studied chemistry in the university, she worked 1 year as a project coordinator, 2 years+ as a logistics coordinator in an engineering firm.

We plan to do our assessment next month with the hope that we would score good points in our IELTS.

I have some questions for the experienced people here.

Question 1: Is it true I can claim 10 educational points with my professional certificates? (MCTS, SAP, OCA etc.)

Question 2: whom do you think we should use as the primary applicant, me or my wife?

Question 3: what are our options for 189 visa because her project coordinator experience is for 1 year (this shows on the 189 skills occupation list) the logistics coordinator experience is for 2 years but only shows on the 190 & 489 skills occupation list.

Question 4: is it possible for me and my wife to do our assessment with 2 separate bodies?

1. Yes you can if the qualification is allowed by ACS. You may have to list them so as to confirm if any will get your 10 points. In another news, your years of experience will most likely be slashed drastically.
2. You should be cos your wife's chance of getting a positive assessment with Vetassess is slim.
3. I would advise you face 190/491 squarely. Getting a 189 invitation is a tall order as DHA plan is to move people away from the major cities.

The statement just shows the amounts that have been remitted by your company to LIRS on your behalf. Chat with them on LIRS website and you will get it.

All these are more of operational work and not that of a CSM.
There is no occupation currently that fits into that. If you are a supervisor and can assess a level 1 occupation, you may go for Corporate services manager.

You have 3 options depending on your capacity
1. Assess your qualification only with EA as an Electrical engineer.
2. Assess with Vetassess as a Project administrator with your EA degree. Note that you can't assess with Vetassess as a Project administrator even after your MBA until you have at least 1 year experience after the MBA (that's if you want to submit the MBA degree).
3. Assess for both occupation with the two bodies if you have d funds

The ones below are specifically related to building
- Construction Project Manager

2. All documents to be sent to ACS must be notarized by a Notary public

For you to get a positive assessment with TRA, you must have 3 years experience else TRA will just collect your funds and slam you with a negative assessment. Just wait till you have your complete 3 years experience.
I hope you have either bank statement, pension or tax for these 3 years.

so sad... i have been looking around for it. But biochemistry is ANZSCO list with code 234513. How come it isnt featured as a skilled occupation on the australian website.

Where are you checking from cos Biochemist is on the occupation list and some states nominated it in July. It's even still available for 190 in SA and ACT.

Never heard or read about such request before cos absolutely everyone prepares for the aftermath of an ITA which DHA is magnanimous to have given a 60-day application period. May I ask please, these urgent things you are doing, do you think they are tenable if you mail or call DHA?

Final year... Sadly, that won't fly except the experience is after the date on your certificate.
For Aussie, only experience after qualification is considered. For example, if you completed your degree in December 2017 and on your certificate, it's April 2018, the assessing bodies (Vetassess especially) will only consider experience after April 2018.

I'm not sure if you will get a positive assesment from AACA due to recent results I have seen. Most Architects go through Architectural draftsperson which is assessed by Vetassess however Vetassess requires at least 1 year experience to give you a positive assessment.

Hello guys pls I need suggestions. I'm currently in Australia studying for my master's degree (on student visa). I got a positive assessment outcome from vettasses for my nominated occupation (Valuer) after I assessed with my Naija B.Sc.(in Estate management). I'm 30yrs old.

The thing now is, I don't know if I should go ahead with the process of applying for any of the 190/189/491 visas or should I wait and finish up my studies (I hv a yr to finish) so I can get the 2yrs study-in-Australia point. Since I've got no points to claim for work experience. Based on my total point estimate, I stand at 65.

It all depends on you.
If you have the required points to apply for any of the visa classes, pls do asap. You may likely have gotten grant when you finish your studies due to the current processing times.
Also bear in mind that time waits for no one and the migration requirements may be more stringent when you are done with your studies.
I'd advise you lodge your EOI asap for 189 (assuming the 65 points is for 189) pending when states will update their occupation list by November.

It's advised you start from page 1 of this threas to understand the process.
Accountant and other related roles (check Anzsco website) are not assessed by Vetassess but by 3 bodies which you are required to make a choice. Pls go through their respective websites to understand their criteria especially with your degree.

Other accountants in the house can help you out in choosing any of the bodies to assess with.

I don't think the information is too much. Just read the first few pages highlighting the process and proceed. "ICT work experience" as you stated is a broad one. Can you be specific about your IT role?
You may want to visit www.anzscosearch.com for a list of all the occupations available. Click the 'Anzsco code' tab on this website to review the tasks and see the occupation(s) that relate to what you do.
It may also be a tough one if your occupation is to be assessed by ACS due to a non-relevant first degree

The 491 regional scheme is better as it offers the opportunity to move to any regional area across Australia without restriction.

I thought the 489 also allows one to stay in any regional area since the requirements for 887 is work and live in a regional area.

Yes, partner visa was not stated in the legislation. However, the legislation provides for additional conditions to be included when it takes effect.

The purpose of this new visa is to push people to the regional areas. Home Affairs know that a lot of people especially singles will want to circumvent the process by applying for partner visa to move to the City. I wouldn't be surprised if this condition is added to the visa when it kicks off.

Thanks for the clarification, although there will always be loophole (s) to exploit. I was only wondering why they wouldn't want one to get married simply because one is holding a visa. We'll see how it goes by November 16.
