hi I have a B.tech in architecture , but no work experience yet , can I still apply for this immigration stuff ?.
I'm not sure if you will get a positive assesment from AACA due to recent results I have seen. Most Architects go through Architectural draftsperson which is assessed by Vetassess however Vetassess requires at least 1 year experience to give you a positive assessment.

Hello guys pls I need suggestions. I'm currently in Australia studying for my master's degree (on student visa). I got a positive assessment outcome from vettasses for my nominated occupation (Valuer) after I assessed with my Naija B.Sc.(in Estate management). I'm 30yrs old.

The thing now is, I don't know if I should go ahead with the process of applying for any of the 190/189/491 visas or should I wait and finish up my studies (I hv a yr to finish) so I can get the 2yrs study-in-Australia point. Since I've got no points to claim for work experience. Based on my total point estimate, I stand at 65.

cc @bellong
It all depends on you.
If you have the required points to apply for any of the visa classes, pls do asap. You may likely have gotten grant when you finish your studies due to the current processing times.
Also bear in mind that time waits for no one and the migration requirements may be more stringent when you are done with your studies.
I'd advise you lodge your EOI asap for 189 (assuming the 65 points is for 189) pending when states will update their occupation list by November.

Good luck

Hello everyone,

I'm quiet new to this whole migration thing, i am not quite sure on how to confirm which tier my university falls into. Can anyone help me out.

My first degree: UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (UNN)

Second degree: UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS

Thanks in advance
You didn't state the courses?
The years you obtained these degrees and the occupation you want to assess will help give the required info.

Hello friends,

I have Bsc in Economics but work as accountant for past 10 years. Where can I assess my qualification and work experience: VATESSESS or Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia?

Please those with same experience should advise because I am confused.
It's advised you start from page 1 of this threas to understand the process.
Accountant and other related roles (check Anzsco website) are not assessed by Vetassess but by 3 bodies which you are required to make a choice. Pls go through their respective websites to understand their criteria especially with your degree.

Other accountants in the house can help you out in choosing any of the bodies to assess with.

Hello everyone,I have been reading the trend for 2 days as I was referred by a friend.
I want to migrate to Australia after getting delayed waiting for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot program Canada, the process is taking forever.

I will like to go through my assessment, I studied Accounting and had 6 years work experience in Sales( media house) and call centre outbound for 1 year.

Kindly advice.

Thank you
Which school did you graduate from and the year?
When you wrote 'sales', do you mean advertising or marketing specialist?

Please what is score and how do i proceed. Too much information here that I get confused.
I don't think the information is too much. Just read the first few pages highlighting the process and proceed. "ICT work experience" as you stated is a broad one. Can you be specific about your IT role?
You may want to visit www.anzscosearch.com for a list of all the occupations available. Click the 'Anzsco code' tab on this website to review the tasks and see the occupation(s) that relate to what you do.
It may also be a tough one if your occupation is to be assessed by ACS due to a non-relevant first degree

As long as the marriage will not take you away from the regional area before 3 years, they are fine with it.

The 491 regional scheme is better as it offers the opportunity to move to any regional area across Australia without restriction.
Cool.
I thought the 489 also allows one to stay in any regional area since the requirements for 887 is work and live in a regional area.

Yes, partner visa was not stated in the legislation. However, the legislation provides for additional conditions to be included when it takes effect.

The purpose of this new visa is to push people to the regional areas. Home Affairs know that a lot of people especially singles will want to circumvent the process by applying for partner visa to move to the City. I wouldn't be surprised if this condition is added to the visa when it kicks off.
Thanks for the clarification, although there will always be loophole (s) to exploit. I was only wondering why they wouldn't want one to get married simply because one is holding a visa. We'll see how it goes by November 16.

In another news, I received commencement email for CO allocation yesterday.

If you are able to sort it out with your state revenue service, that will be fine. If not, what other employment documents do you have to submit apart from d reference letter? I have seen cases of people without tax/pension get grant recently, however bear in mind that no two cases are the same cos they were able to submit other documents to substantiate their claims.
Also, how many years of experience are you claiming?

I want to go with chemist because it aligns with my job description. But its a level 1 occupation.
If that's the case, you can't apply for Chemist. You may want to check Chemistry technician though it's currently out of nomination until November if the states update their occupation list.

Bros, sorry bump in this but I am also stuck in this same matter. My major is Mechanical Engineering and i don't think it relates to Occupational Health and Safety, i have NEBOSH IGC not the diploma and ISO certifications. Do i stand a chance to get positive feedback from VETASSES?
One thing about Vetassess is that even if your degree is not highly relevant, your years of experience will be reduced in lieu of the qualification. Since you did a 5 year course, you will only lose at least 3 years of experience as long as your job descriptions of the occupation you are nominating are well aligned to what Vetassess wants.

If your job descriptions do not tally with what they want, coupled with a non-relevant degree, that's an automatic negative. If you have more than 4 years experience, please give it a shot.

Good morning house.

I don't really understand this aussie immigration even after reading up,hence my question.

I studied industrial chemistry from Madonna university and i currently work as a Quality control chemist for 6 years now- will vetassess count it a positive?

I calculated my score with visa class 189 and i had 70- am a bit confused as to what line of action to follow next

Will i also assess my hubby qualification too? He studied agricultural engineering and has been working as a project manager in a food company for 13yrs+

I will appreciate any pointers pls
Cc @bellong
Madonna university is a tier 2 University and you course is also a 4 year course, so any occupation you want to nominate should be a level 2 occupation.
Which occupation have you decided to nominate?

For your hubby, check the tasks for 'Program or Project Administrator', do these tasks relate to what he does? You may also review the occupation lists to check the occupation that best suits you and your hubby.

Hi Bellong and all, please help. I intend to pay back taxes for 4 years because my former company never remitted and they're not ready to do it. The records will all carry the date of which I paid, hence showing I haven't been paying them yearly.

My question is would this been an issue with DHA? Has anyone done this and had successful visa approval? Thoughts please, thank you.
Which assessing body do you want to assess with cos this may not only be a DHA issue?

I have sent the tax statement from the tax website portal. They also do not issue receipts to individuals that had their tax remmitted by their companies...
Guess you have to take it up with your assessor then. If you have submitted the tax statement issued by the LIRS online service staff, then it shouldn't be a problem. You could also attach the mail that was sent to you by LIRS containing the statement

If you assessed with VETASSES and one year was cut off from your experience, could you please contact me.

A friend is challenging immigration decision at the Federal Circuit Court which also includes VETASSES. To add to the weight of his case, we need more people VETASSES reduced their years of post-qualification experience.

Thank you.
This is good. Everyone that went through Vetassess got at least 1 year deducted. Mine was deducted too, I guess it's their standard.

I think he has a masters degree, and with that, the university finished from doesn't matter. Or doesn't it still?
I was asking for his undergraduate details because Australia only considers experience after degree. So if it's a tier 1 University or a 5 year course, it will be better to use the first degree rather than the Masters degree

Age:37

Work Experience:7years in customer service
English Test:L-7,R-7,R-7,W-7

kINDLY ADVICE
You have a good profile and can assess as a customer service manager but this is dependent on your job descriptions. Being in customer service does not guarantee a positive assessment from Vetassess especially if you are a customer-facing person.
You may reply with your job descriptions.

Safety adviser is available in SA under high points which means you need 75 points without SS to get ITA. Nsw is also nominating it for 190
