My people, I think we need to start prayer and fasting (those who can) for these Flying Eagles to qualify. From what I'm seeing, we can only qualify if there is any hope the best third-placed team. I don't see Venezuela not beating Tahiti after the 8-0 mauling they got from Spain, and I cannot boldly say that we will beat the Spanish team with their 4-2-3-1 formation. huh huh

Maybe na Yaradua's bad luck be dis. huh

Is it that you people are not joke afficionados as you were claimed to be? Ok, let me try make clear to you what is funny to me in this one.

If you have ever undergone any form of surgery, or knows anyody who has, you will know that before being operated on you must take off all your personal things like clothes, boxers, ring et al, you'll only have a surgery gown on. Now here comes a guy in white whom you thought was a doctor (because he was wearing a white frock) who lifted up the surgery cloth, took a peep at your kini and walks away after doing just that.

Then probably to make sure all he saw the first time was taken in in full details, he comes over to take a peep at your "thang" again. Meanwhile, you are there lying down thinking to yourself that the fellow is a surgeon or something, not knowing he is just an overactive and inquisitive painter. That's what is funny.

Politics › Re: Education, Labour Ministers Escape Kidnap Plot by U1(m): 8:30pm On Sep 18, 2009
I think it was a good attempt.

Sam Egwu has failed as the minister for education. He should hide his face in shame and resign honourably;afterall, he has looted more than his fair share of the national cake,he has nothing to offer this nation.

If he was put on sale in the market,I dont think anyone would pay =N=20 to have him(maybe his family);so y the hue & cry? Same with the other minister, who will buy?

They are both looters;it would have been nice for them to give back to the society forcefully through the kidnappers what they have stolen from the national treasury.

Na God save them;useless men!
Comot for there! How I no go buy them? For two for N30, I go buy them o, but I go make sure say I use them with no mercy and kindness just as they are not showing that to the students. Dem go wash my clothes, shine my shoes, run errand with their pot-belly and do other odd jobs. My money no go waste now. grin grin cool

I think I made it known yesterday that the worst result we could get from Milan is a draw, and that was exactly what happened yesterday. Though I didn't watch the match, I learnt my boys turned Inter to merely a defending team in their own backyard, that's what Mourinho is known for. They would not be that lucky when they come to the Camp. tongue grin Gbogbo egba ni won ma je grin cheesy
Education › Re: University Of Ibadan Wins Zain Competition For African Universities by U1(m): 10:42am On Sep 16, 2009
Now im not even gonna try to compare University of Rhodes and University of Ibadan, but I just checked the rankings on the web for top universities in Africa and I found University of Ibadan sitting way below at no. 81(top 9000 in the world) and University of Rhodes at no. 5(top 1000 in the world) thats a huge gap.
http://www.webometrics.info/top100_continent.asp?cont=africa
And the obvious fact is that South Africa has the best universities in Africa by a long mile that's why they never got an invite Grin Grin Grin
One thing you need to take note of is that what put University of Rhodes in whatever place they find themselves on the said ranking is just the facilities they have and maybe good teachers too. I tell you if most of you guys can come to the University of Ibadan, or you happen to be studying under similar condition, they you will know that you need to stand up for the champion. tongue cheesy

The University of Rhodes is principally in the position it is because of the two factors mentioned above aside that the University of Ibadan is way ahead of it. Stop complaining and just accept, it doesn't mean students over there are more brilliant than those in UI, if those guys on the show has the resources they would probably be in the best university on that ranking. lipsrsealed cool
Education › Re: Letters To The FG & ASUU by U1(m): 10:10am On Sep 16, 2009
I initially didn't want to do this, but I guess that I just have to express my view too. So here goes:

To The Federal Government

It is with deep feeling of being betrayed that I write this to you, with special emphasis on the ongoing strike in our universities, though not limited to that. It is sad that I just can't help but admit that this federal government in power is a failure, and you have yet to impress me that you have a vision at all.

You always talk about 7-point agenda, which education was supposed to be one of those points, and you have yet to achieve just one of those points, look at what you want to improve suffer at your own mercy. This government is visionless, or should I say sluggish, you keep bringing up plans which to you seem all right but it only ends there without it coming to pass. You promised us 6000 MW of electricity by December, I'm waiting to see the miracle you hope to perform on that one.

The other day I heard on a radio station's news the minister of education saying that there is nothing wrong in government officials sending their children to school overseas, that to me is the one of the most stupid utterances I have heard in a very long time. We knew you don't see anything wrong in it all along and must you come and rub salt on the wound you inflicted on us by confirming all we have been saying all along? Shameless Minster, just as you said that some of the lecturers have their children in schools overseas, though that is true, but does that now mean that those in government should do the same? It only goes to show that how leaders are clueless and foolish, this is how we re-brand Nigeria, I think huh . I'm sure that we have majority of government officials' children in school overseas that those of the ASUU members, something like 6:1. This current crop of leaders are simply not worth to be called that since you are more of oppressors and totalitarians to be called leaders. I'll like to remind you that you will surely explain all these actions of yours to GOD, our creator, when you die and leave this earth with all the wealth you are amassing now left behind here on earth. Think about it, or you as well decide not to die.

PS: The president was formerly in the education sector before, so I heard, look at how fantastic he is treating the sector, really fantastic. huh

To ASUU

You have already embarked on this strike for so long a time, even though I'm not of the opinion that you are mostly concerned with the plight of the students, I think you are fighting more for your working conditions. Not bad. But since you have decided to keep us at home this long, don't back down on your demands only to postpone it to some future date, if you do that you will be committing a huge atrocity and some people would punish you for that as can be seen on this thread.

To Prominent Nigerians

To all the prominent people in the country, please rise up and prevail on the federal government to do something fast. You may be wondering what you'll benefit from that, I tell you God will not let your efforts go in vain and I'm sure that he will reward you both here on earth and in the hereafter. I believe that we have more of Gani Fawehinmi around, even better people, please prove right.

To otokx

You need to prove it to me that you are a "concerned student", yeah right. huh

I'll be waiting to see if we have concerned people around.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Inter Milan Vs Barcelona (0 - 0) Wednesday 16th September by U1(m): 9:08am On Sep 16, 2009
I hope Eto'o won't punish Guardiola for selling him off, as for the Ibra of a guy, he is yet to fully prove himself to me, I'm only hoping that he begins doing that against his former club. With Messi around, Inter has got a lot on their hands, and I think the worst result we can come away with from Milan is a draw.

Education › Re: University Of Ibadan Wins Zain Competition For African Universities by U1(m): 12:03pm On Sep 15, 2009
Sorry if had burst your bubble, but you can complain all you want cause I was just merely telling the truth, besides who cares about that competition if there is only less than 10 African countries(In a continent that has about 53 countries) I was just questioning the credibility of the competition and I got the answer from superstar1, but if you wanna throw a party go ahead nobody is stopping you and for interests sake I attend the University of Rhodes go look it up soon it will overtake UCT to be the best university in Africa.
Though this response is belated, I think I still have to mention it since you are not being realistic here and accept the champion.
Have you ever thought of the fact that the show was in English? And how many countries in Africa are anglo-phone, if I may ask you? Though I didn't watch the show 100%, I watched only one edition, and I'm figuring that for all the anglophone countries, their must have been some kind of qualifier before the final 10 countries were chosen. Apparently, you didn't seem to see it that way.
Since you are so proud to be attending the University of Rhodes, which to you is better than the University of Ibadan, why is that your school not represented? Stop complaining and stand up for the champion! tongue grin
