You should ask yourself which Church has unbibilcal doctrines in their church.
From worship of Mary to purgatory,to praying to saints, to pope forgiving sins,to idol worship and advocating for gays, the list is endless. your church is Babylon.
Or maybe you should maybe you own research and Stop been ignorant maybe the you will see that:

1. Nowhere is is written that every Christian practice and doctrines must be explicitly spelt out in the bible in fact must of those practices prevail the new testament.

2. The honor giving to Mary is both historic Christain practice and teaching and is equally biblical. Lu.2. Says: henceforth all generations should call me blessed.
3. Purgatory is also biblical for nobody is perfect so God has told us we will be saved every if out worship aren't perfect those he will do so via fire. 1cor 3:10-15
4. Jesus gate his church the power to declare sins forgiven in his name. Jn. 20:23.

I am so thankful that the Church Jesus established is free from silly heresies list idol worship, soul sleep, judiazers, supporting gays marriage etc like your modern day heresies endtime churches.

Jesus warned ( Matt. 7:15),
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous
wolves.” Much of His ministry consisted of
confronting the false teaching of the religious
leaders of His day (cf. Matt. 16:11-12; 23:1-39).
In His discourse on things to come, He warned
( Matt. 24:4-5), “See to it that no one misleads
you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I
am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.”
The apostle Peter devotes most of 2 Peter to
warning against false teachers. Jude devotes his
entire short letter to the same theme. John in his
epistles repeatedly warns of false teachers. Paul’s
final words to the Ephesian elders warned them. Acts 20:28-30

His final letters to Timothy and Titus repeatedly
emphasize the need for sound doctrine. He told
Titus (1:9) that an elder must hold “fast the
faithful word which is in accordance with the
teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in
sound doctrine and to refute those who
contradict.” He goes on to explain that there are
many empty talkers and deceivers who are
upsetting whole households through their false
teaching. In his final charge to Timothy, after
telling him to preach the word, he explained ( 2
Tim. 4:3-4), “For the time will come when they
will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to
have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for
themselves teachers in accordance to their own
desires, and will turn away their ears from the
truth and will turn aside to myths.”
So it should not surprise us that as Paul
concludes his letter to the Romans, in the midst
of giving and sending warm greetings to the
saints, he breaks in with this warning to beware
of false teachers. Some liberal commentators
have thought that this paragraph is so abrupt and
out of context that it must have been added by a
later scribe. But Paul was constantly battling false
teachers who hounded his steps and perverted
the truth of the gospel. He was writing from
Corinth, where false apostles posing as servants
of righteousness had caused much damage ( 2
Cor. 11:3-15). As he thought of his many dear
friends in Rome, he didn’t want them to be led
astray. He had heard that they were doing well in
the Lord (16:19a), but the present is no guarantee
for the future. So his love for them prompted him
to insert this warning against the dangers of false teachers
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon
son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to
you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in
heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter,
and on this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of Hades will not overcome
it.

Jesus has already promised that the false teachers will never prevail against his church .

Do you believe him.

You are confusing yourself.
Go and google about the history of your Church doctrines.
you are the one confusing yourself the history of my church is clear it started with the apostles in the upper room. do you have anything in particular to point out?
Paul spoked about the falling away of early christains from the faith and from sound doctrine. you can see it is not a new thing.
Paul talked about a falling away in the end time! Your church is an end time church, it is the very manifestation of the falling away Paul was talking about. He said that at time people will be deluded and they will start etching for their funny doctrines like soul sleep a doctrine that is alien to 1900yrs of Christianity.

There were false teachers but Jesus himself promise that the false will never prevail against the True NEVER, ever, do you believe it or do you think Jesus was lying when he made the promise.

Your church claims to be the first church but thats a big lie.

Ellen G White was not the sole founder of Adventist they were more than 3 people which started the church based on Bible doctrine not on Heresy like your church.
so which of the 3 people were among the 12 apostles? Jesus didn't leave Ellen white to his church or the other 3 people he left it with the apostles and your church wasn't formed by an apostles.

Goodbye Sir
I know what we have now, I also know what was before. And as I said earlier I had the earlier looking Qur'an it looks a lot like the design of the book the Pope is holding but it is not a binderlike book. In fact binding books that way is a recent practice. And a Qur'an whether ancient or modern usually have the word Qur'an written in Arabic on it.

Adventist is the best church in the World. i was not born an Adventist but i discovered the truth and became one.

We are not intrested in general opinion but We are intrested in what God says through his word the Bible.
Have you not read in James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Have you not read in revelation that the Devil will decieve the whole world? that he has successed in doing using your church and evil doctrines. Myself church is different we refuse to compromise.
Revelation say the devil deceived the world at the end time, it didn't say the devil defeated the church so God needed to call Ellen white to start her own after the apostles were gone. In fact the Bible says that the church built on the apostles by Jesus will never go out of phase hell will never prevail against her.

So ask yourself if your church which actually began at the end times isn't a manifestation of the work and deception of the devil trying to remove people from true Christianity by drawing them to modern day heresy.

I never said you Doctrine must be popular but is certainly must be true historic Christian belief.

If the xtians who heard from the apostles never interpreted the passage as you do and do not believe it then maybe you have a false interpretation.

Christians in 100ad didn't believe soul sleep nor those in 200ad or even 300ad no good Christian held that teaching. It is a modern day heresy.

The saying that the devil succeeded in overcoming the church Christ founded goes against Jesus' words, his power and scripture itself...

Jesus promised that
the gates of hell will not prevail against the church he would found... which was on PETER not on ELLEN WHITE (Mat 16:18-19... obviously adventist wasn't that Church because it never existed until the 19th century and it was founded by a WOMAN WITH NO APOSTOLIC CONNECTION OR AUTHORITY

Jesus often talks about overcoming a strong man before plundering his house.. mat 12:29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

The Devil would have to have overcome Christ before plundering his house the Church (mathew 16:18, 1 tim 3:15),WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE

Thirdly Paul says that God would be glorified in the Church in EVERY GENERATION, WORLD WITHOUT END....(Eph 3:21)

THERE WAS NO ADVENTIST CHURCH or any other apart from the catholic church IN THE 100s, 200s, 300s, upto the 16th century when the Anglican, Lutherans and other PROTESTANT SECTS CAME UP, AND ANOTHER 300YEARS BEFORE YOUR CHURCH STARTED... GOD HAS BEEN GLORIFYING HIMSELF IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FOR 1900YEARS BEFORE YOUR SECT WAS FOUND,

fourthly, Jesus said a wise man builds his upon a rock, so that it may withstand the test of all the hazards of weather and a foolish man builds upon sand...
mat 7:24ba wise man who built his house upon the rock; 25 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock

And according to MATHEW 16, JESUS FOUNDED HIS CHURCH UPON A ROCK, AND THAT CHURCH WILL WITHSTAND ALL THE ASSAULTS OF THE DEVIL THAT IS WHY HE SAID, "THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT...

JESUS IS THE WISEMAN WHO BUILDS HIS HOUSE (THE CHURCH mat 16:18-19, 1 tim 3:15) UPON A SOLID ROCK, HE IS NOT THE FOOLISH MAN WHO BUILDS UPON SAND. WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FOOLISH MAN'S HOUSE.. mat 7:26b a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; 27 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it.

If the church was built on sand then it would fall to the attacks of the devil, but thank God mat 16:18-19 tells us it was not..

I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT MY JESUS IS BOTH A "STRONG MAN (mat 12:29) AND A WISEMAN (mat 7:24-26)....AND HE DEFINITELY KEEPS HIS WORDS...

ON BEING DECEIVED BY THE DEVIL, THE BIBLE SAID THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE END TIMES AND GUESS WHAT, 1900s SEEMS MORE "END TIMEY" THAN THE 100s
I just have to agree, Jesus certainly keeps his promises.

Then you don't understand Jesus's mission in this world and the birth of the new testament.

......and obviously, you didnt here the pope's speech before "bowing" to the Qur'an. Infact, a true Christian would never even want to touch the Qur'an. Except me ofcourse...... curiosity
Someone claimed the Bible is all about tolerance, all I did was correct him and ask him to read his Bible well. There is tolerance and love there but there is also violence and death. The major difference is that the Bible goes from violence to love while the koran seems to move from mild tolerance to serious hate. Again we use the new testament in canceling the violent parts of the old testament whereas some Muslim jurist believe that the more violent parts cancel the tolerant parts.

If you wish to now what John Paul thought of the Qur'an then read what he wrote.

"Whoever knows the Old and New Testaments, and
then reads the Koran, clearly sees the process by
which it completely reduces Divine Revelation. It is
impossible not to note the movement away from
what God said about Himself, first in the Old
Testament through the Prophets, and then finally in
the New Testament through His Son. In Islam all
the richness of God’s self-revelation, which
constitutes the heritage of the Old and New
Testaments, has definitely been set aside.
Some of the most beautiful names in the human
language are given to the God of the Koran, but He
is ultimately a God outside of the world, a God who
is only Majesty, never Emmanuel, God-with-us.
Islam is not a religion of redemption. There is no
room for the Cross and the Resurrection. Jesus is
mentioned, but only as a prophet who prepares for
the last prophet, Muhammad. There is also
mention of Mary, His Virgin Mother, but the tragedy
of redemption is completely absent. For this
reason not only the theology but also the
anthropology of Islam is very distant from
Christianity."

Is that even a Koran? Pope is a christian, Patriarch Raphael 1 is a christian, how come it's a koran in their midst, according to the caption.
if I remember correctly. It was an Iraqi delegation comprising of both a suni Muslim leader, a Shia Muslim leader a representative of the Iraqi religion ministry and a christian patriarch. They came to invite the Pope to their country as an emissary of peace.

They gave him a book that looked like a binder, it had intricate design but surprisingly the title koran was not there, the patriarch later gave an interview where he intimated that the book they gave the Pope was a koran. The Pope actually kissed the book.

It is important to note that in the middle east a gift is considered a reflection of the giver and it is customary to kiss it as a sign of respect, though it is less so in Iraqi culture.

Christians are taught love and tolerance. We are taught not to cast a stone on sinners for we might be sinners to. Jesus fought our battle by dying on the cross.
it seems you haven't been reading your bible fully.

Actually the old testament commands the stoning of certain sinners, the same as the Koran. It also commands hatred for enemies and shows various instances of the people of God fighting their enemies.

It is all their entire communities were commanded to be put to death, men, women and children. Entire populations akin to genocide. It is all in the Bible. The same God that you say is all love and tolerance also wrote about stoning, deaths and hate for enemies.

If you say that the Muslim God isn't your God because you saw violence in Muslim literature then get ready to deny the God of the jews in the old testament.

Muslims are taught to fight for a place in heaven and kill anything that breathes anti-muslim. They are fighting to earn 72 virgins. Infact, Imam Mullah Ali Qari said 70 virgins and human (note this part) two wives. Imam Al-Balhayqi was said to be more generous. He said 500 wives, 4 000 virgins and 8 000 previously married women. Solomon is chior boy. Al- Tirmidhi maintained 72 and that women can can choose a men of their choice or anything that delights their eyes.

Bro, comparing Allah to God is disrespect on its own.
so because some Muslims practice violence that means their God is false abi?
Some Christian pastors are swindlers does that also mean the Christian God is a thief?

That is a non sequitur argument.

Worthy of honor, praise, glory and all adoration. The profess the God who revealed himself to Abraham. This very same God they profess to worship and adore.

This same God who is one and revealed to Abraham is the God the jews profess to worship... That same God is fully revealed in CHRIST Jesus.

I dont know wether attending a Catholic boarding school counts but, that's where I also attended church mostly.

They taught me the rosary prayer. Taught me that Mother Mary is also a way to God. Taught me holy communion and confessing my sins to another human being called Father. They taught me that a sprinkle of water on a child's forehead counts as baptism infact, they said that bapistism is very important for an infant, incase the child dies and they are without christ. Loved these people too much.

During my first year in university, I went on a holiday in Egypt and because my cousin was one of the tour guides, she took us to all these wonders. I left there with many questions but was afraid to ask.

I later then learnt that the obelisk displayed infront of all catholisc churches is an egyptian worship for blindfolding and conquering Christianity. That the pact between the Romans and Egyptians birthed what is today called Roman Catholic Church, hence the very important figure who is today displayed as mary (Nimrods wife and son, Tamuss).....Infact, catholicism is all about pagan worship. The fish mouth of the pope's cap....same as that worn by all wealthy kings of egypt. When the obelisk and the mouth fish are in one place....evil deeds prevail, hence the grusome history of the pope's. Starting from sleeping with young boys who are falsely recruited for mentorship, to fake saints.

If you have questions, go to Rome and see for yourself the sculptures displayed.....compare them to those that are in Egypt and do a little research. Better yet, use the internet
did you remember to factor in the fact that the Catholic Church is about, 2000yrs old and that most ancient sculpture are alike.

Is Christianity and Islam really related?

I am working on a thesis which I hope will be syndicated by some global newspapers in which I will highlight the similarities between Christians/Catholics and Muslims.

Let me just name a few here

-Both dress alike;
The priests' cassock and the mallam's jellabia, the reverend sister's veil and the female Muslim's hijab.

-Both pray with a chaplet:

-Both intermittently squat/kneel/bow during prayers.

-Both are very resolved in their beliefs and almost fanatical with it:
It's almost impossible to convince them to drop their doctrine and reconsider yours. They go all lengths to defend their beliefs.

-Both have a lenghty fast at a specific period:

The Catholics have the Lenten period where they fast for 40-46 days and are supposedly holy till after the fast when they return to status quo, this fast culminates into Easter; same as the Muslims who fast for 30days in the month of Ramadan and just like the Catholics observe an abstenance from iniquity and some type of meat, this fast as well culminates into the Eid el Fitri

Both could get very irate and potentially dangerous if you question the tenets of their doctrine.

Kindly join in on this discussion on if the two religions are related.

Please note that this discussion is not intended to infuriate anyone; rather an intellectual discourse that could further strengthen religious tolerance and bring better understanding to the origin of some of what we believe in.

I just wonder if you really met a Catholic who became potentially dangerous when you challenge his faith or if you made that part up?

shocked

Thank you for that,

I also forgot to say this;
One thing explains the extreme fanatism and supposed tendency to violence of both the Catholics and the Muslims
When matters bordering on their faith or religious tenets are discussed.

The Catholics fought a lot in the Crusades.
The Muslims fought a lot in Jihads.
It is surprising you claim Catholics have a suppose tendency for violence, that must be both a fallacy of generalization added to prejudice and bars.... That becomes even more glaring when people check the churches in Nigeria advocating violence and the ones that are reconcilatory in their tone .

It is weird to me personally because I as a Catholic here on nairaland have been a victim of silly abuse by protestants and I have taken them in strides... So where is the violence coming from?? Is it your imagination or is your own bias showing?

I wonder if you won't be in a Muslim caliphate now if not for the crusades you seem quick to condemn.

i was once a catholic brother, i can boldly say anyone who follow the catholic doctrine, worship idols, pray to queen of heaven and saints is in danger of missing heaven.. Deuteronomy 5:8-9 condemns catholism.... Before the blows out into full arguement, ask God to reveal the truth of catholic to you, we are on a journey and here to help ourselves, may God open your eyes
hope you know you didn't address my post you just ended up making more unsubstantiated claims.

Are you a aware Christianity didn't begin with protestantism?

There is another one you forgot,

they both have the book of Mary

and they both believe works rather than faith can get you salvation
Catholic do not believe that works rather than faith can get salvation in fact such an idea is considered heresy in catholicism.

Such opinion is condemn in the Catholic Church

If anyone says that man can be justified before
God by his own works, whether done by his own
natural powers or through the teaching of the
law, without divine grace through Jesus
Christ, let him be anathema.

catholism is not of God and catholics are in danger of going to hell, their doctrines are wrong and in disobedience to God
do you think protestants Bagan Christianity in the 16th century? Or do you wish to condemn everyone who came before you guys.

The more original thing should have been "catholicism existed before protestantism an they represent the most ancient and truest for of the Christian faith, protestantism is a body of heresy that came up in the later times". How about that?
