I know the Benin history more than you can think off. Formerly, Benin king was called Ogiso. Dude, get your history right. Even the Binis know how they got the name Oba.
ofcuz, d binis got d title oba from d yorubas, and d lagos got their oba from bini.

why did Bini king change name from Ogiso to Oba? Answer me.
dat one is simple. When oranmiyan came to edo, he brought along the title and addressed himself as oba instead of ogie. That act among others divided d royal family. Oranmiyan children kept d title oba.

What an easy way outhuh Only people who have nothing to say or back up their claims call other liars. Back up your claims and stop being a nuisance.

Lagos state government doesn't put out trash, it's one of the fruits of your inferiority complex. How many false stories do you never do well post around only for them to turn out to be false.
There are many Yoruba with different accounts of how they got to be where they are today Most Yoruba don't even know they are cos we were all known by our different dialects first.

Bini never conquered anything, it's all myth, or what do you see today to suggest that they ever conquered even a poultry farm? The rumour probably started from one drunk Ogiso who was a Joseph the dreamer for a day.

All those area mean ANNEXES.

Ido = settlement

Idumota = Ido Imota
Idumagbo = Ido Imagbo
Eletu = Eletu

Worry about your origin, every Yoruba known where they came from.

Omo Ale is exactly what it says and more, you have to be Yoruba to know more, heck, you have to really understand Yoruba to know that, even we young Yoruba don't really understand deep Yoruba like our elders do, let alone some strangers who happen to hear and speak broken Yoruba.

The bottom line is you don't have Eko meaning in any language except Yoruba.
who told u bini didnt conquer anything? U nid to read up, d present day edo, delta, lagos, parts of ogun, öndon, ekiti were all under d oba of bini. Go and read up

Hmm! It's clear to be now that Oshiomole is a Yoruba word. If it had meant other thing other than your explanation below, I wouldn't be sure or say anything. But thishuh

When you hear the name "Oshiomole" the first things that will come to your mind are these as Yoruba

Osho = Wizard which can mean "Genius"

Oshi = right hand/confidant of a Deity.

Imole/Irumole = Deity

Now, whichever way you put it, Deity were gods back in the day, and they owned their subjects. Also, factor in how other cultures around them affected the pronunciation and spelling. The heck! Even Ilaje write differently from most Yoruba, and have NOT for once denied their ancestry, or have they?
oshiomhole is NOT a yoruba name as mr oshiomhole is not a yoruba man. Estako don't speak yoruba and have no direct yoruba interaction but you prefer to spead silly explanations dat make no sense, so oshiomhole now means osho imule, genius diety. Sorry dear d name is oshiomhole not oshoimule.

Eko is a Yoruba word from Ereko/Erekosu.
It seems Eko doesn't mean anything in Benin/Bini, because no one has been able to tell us What these are called in Benin/Bini?

War=
Camp=

We are waiting to see how Benin/Bini got "Eko".

Tell us the word you collapsed into Eko, if

E = War
Ko = Camp

Everyday during Yoruba news, you can hear EREKOSU = ISLAND being mentioned in the news.And what you hear first when "Erekosu" is pronounced is "Eko". So tell us how you came by Eko.

No one could answer this question in other threads, I really hope you here have answers.
eko is not a contraction. Eko is a camp specifically a war camp it is word of its own. The ancient binis had many eko, the present day lagos is just one of them, there is also ekosodin, i.e eko osodin, the war camp of osodin that was tasked with protecting d capital.

Catholics is this not a taboo......Pope Francis has sent his blessing to a lesbian author of children’s books dealing with same-sex families, wishing her and her wife well in their work, it emerged on Friday.
As Vatican officials scrambled to clarify that the message was simply a standard courtesy which did not signal any change in Church teaching on the subject, the author told the press she had been pleasantly surprised to have received such a positive response. continue to read here http://judithfrank..com/2015/08/taboo-pope-francies-blesses-lesbian.html

young generations and the spread of genuine human and Christian values,”

These Catholics are just like Muslims. Twisting scriptures up to preach herecies. An idol image worshipper who lived all his life bowing down to images, something God forbits, turns out a saint of God. Then God no longer keep to his words. Thou shall not make ANY IMAGE, man. Woman, animal. Fish, bird any iMAGE at all to bow down to worship it. The Catholics blatantly disobey that instruction, yet God will over look that and crown them saints. Na lie u tok.

Those bodies are encased and preserved. They are not out in the open.
This is idolatory. Looking unto the corpses and body parts of humans for help. The bible never preached this mess. No where in the bible were corpses venerated or looked up to for help neither are worshipers of Jehovah encouraged to do so.
some were encased after they were previously exhume while other weren't that of catherine is left open.

I hope the site u just gave me isnt a masonic site.

Lastly it is not idolatry, no body is asking a corpse for help or given adoration to it. The bible actually bears witness that God make allow the remains of the righteous to work wonders.

It seem u dont know the meaning of idolatry.

He also said it could mean "poverty has caught the thief," depending on the accent marks, you put on the vowels. wink

that is a totally different thing u are translating.

In yoruba to catch is 'mu', so poverty caught d thieve is osioMUOle.
Yoruba for dont know is omo, so poverty does not knw d thief is osiomo ole.
That is different from oshiomhole.

This is the same intellectual dishonesty that Yorubas historians are known for.

1. I never said Yorubas had no ties with Benin. You said that because you have to lie to defend the lies you have previously told.

2. You have to misspell and mispronounce "Oshiomhole" for it to fit your Yoruba concoction...and you have to manufacture one single Yoruba that bears that name.
don't mind him.
Oshiomhole isn't even a "bini" name, mr adams who bears d name isn't a bini man. The name is not from the bini langauge, the name is actually an ETSAKO name. In etsako, oshio, osi, osinegba are all words for God, mhole means "to own", if i say me mhole in etsako is mean 'I own it or it belongs to me'. Oshiomhole means "na God get am", "GOD owns him" or "he belongs to God". It is not yoruba, it is not even bini, its etsako, d language of the afemia people where gov adams comes from.

If you are a protestant, then I must say your post was spiteful and smirks of ingratitude to Luther.
that is not spiteful, luther was a human being, he had his own mistakes and much of his "preaching" was highly insultive and full of foul words.

Mixing something up: Salvation And Backsliding; When you sin you are backsliding and that as the Scripture imply can be forgiven but denying Jesus is not the Christ cannot be forgiven because that is Sin against the Holy Spirit. You lose your Salvation when you deny Jesus is the Christ and you gain Salvation by confessing Jesus is the Christ.
no that passage actually says we can deny God by our works, not just by words. The passage isn't about backslidding its about denial.

Lol, open your eyes. That scripture is not talking about conditional salvation based upon man using inherent ability to perform conditions for it. Typical arminianism.

The Holy Spirit's work in applying salvation through regeneration is effectual and sure, for without Him we can do nothing.

Paul was the chief of sinners,God apprehended him and he never lost his salvation..his famous mantraa was " I can do ALL things through CHRIST WHO STRENGHTENS ME" ( phil 4:13).

Time will fail to mention Abraham who lied that his wife was his sister, he never lost his salvation.

Samson the fornicator did not miss it.

Lot the barren without works didn't miss it to...

All these few examples were preserved by the grace of God and His faithfulness...not theirs..many more examples abound in scriptures...
hehehehe,

so your point is, once one has said the sinners prayer and believes, even if it was just once he his entire life, it doesn't matter what sins he commit thereafter or if he loses his faith, his one time confession is all that is needed to guarantee eternal salvation?

All I am saying is no one is naturaly incorruptible. No saint ir what ever. Any such story is false and cooked up by those who want you to believe in such lies.
If they insist its incorruptible they should bring it out in the open for just 1 week on warm days and let the world bear withness to their claims.

All na wash.
I could also cook up a faboulous story and tell you why my father is a saint too.
Why do men fo,low blindly other peoples claims?
FYI not every mummy was treated for preservation. Some just happen naturaly due to some prevailing circumstance sorrounding the body before, at and after death. Read up my dear and stop blibndly follwing religion. Even jesus the christ had to ressurect to avoud his flesh decaying. No man whe ever died will remain intact if the body is left in a normal state of atmosphere after death.

Let them bring out the tongues, the legs, the breasts and what ever body part they claim tbeir God decided to save while he damned the rest of them to decay. Let us keep them outside in the open and see what happens. That is after a neutral scientist has carried out tests and confirmed those flesh are human, dates are correct and tney have not been treated in anyway to slow down decay.
If they can do that and the flesh still remains Intact then and only then will I give this talk a second thought

I would like to know if the bible talked about such people though.

FYI no where in the bible did we learn jesus was in that tomb for 3days. They only discovered after 3 days that he was not there. Just like if I take your shoes today but you only discovered it missing 3-5 days after the theft.
No one knows for sure how long it took Jesus to ressurect we only know how long it took his people to discover he was no more in there and that was it.
the bodies are out in the open, they are not hidden. The problem is that you have refused to make research.

Good! For myself I found out about Calvinism after I had come to an understanding that salvation cannot be lost. Their views are consistent with the scriptures and I am one. Calvinism is in truth the teaching of the reformers while Arminianism is the view of the Catholic church toned down.
We are either one or the other.
calvinism is the teaching of one reformer, luther disagreed so did arminus so don't tell me calvinism is the doctrine of the reformers! The reformer only had one doctrine in common, i.e the pope is d antichrist.

The five points enumerated are the points the Arminians took up with the doctrines of the reformers. Before Arminianism, Calvinism existed.

While it is required for us to preach that all men are ordered to repent and be baptised as stated in Acts 2:38, adding any other requirement to salvation such as water baptism becomes 'works' in pretence. It demeans the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross and implies that His finished work is not sufficient. Water baptism is simply a step of obedience to the Lord following our repentance and confession of sin. Our obedience, that is, water baptism, prayer, good works, fellowship, evangelising and so on are issues from our faith in Christ. Salvation is not what we do, but Who we have.

"He that has the Son has life" (1 John 5:12).

What Jesus was saying there is if someone has repented from sin and is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for his salvation, every believer (not your priests), has been given the authority to inform him/her that their sin is forgiven, what we call assurance of salvation, based on their professed faith in Jesus Christ the Saviour.
that is NOT what Jesus said!

Go back and get ur bible! He said,

"recieve the Holyspirit, whosoever sins you forgive are forgiven, whosoever sins you retain are retain" very simple do not try to change it.
