Foreign AffairsRe: Boycott South Africa! Boycott Dstv, Mtn Etc! See What They Did To Your Brothers! by Uche2nna(m): 6:50pm On May 19, 2008

I must say that i am very surprised at the the news broken to nigerians by THISDAY news paper. I am a nigerian student studying here in south africa, and yes there has been some riots by south africans on other foreign nationals in the townships (ghettos) and these are Zimbabweans and mozambiqueans, they are attacking zimbabweans most especially because of the flood of millions of zim people into sa illegally and you should also know that 80% of crimes committed in south african violently are done by zimbabweans and not to talk about the drug trade which are held in high stakes by our brothers here. Till now there hasn't been on case of a single nigerian either injured ir even killed in this whole mess and i read in THISDAY that people are brought down from buses and killed, this is just too much to say, I want to see where they got their sources from. Yes south africans have attitude problems with foreigners in their country in general, but this recent attack is targetted at zimbabweans and have not affected even ONE NIGERIAN!
This might sound silly and ignorant but I cant help but ask it. How do they differentiate other the zimbabweans from other Africa nationalities especially Nigerians.  undecidedGiven my personal experience of mob actions, they wont ask U to specify ur nationality once they suspect u are a foreigner.

Calling kids names is a favorite past time of not only Nigerian parents but also guardians.

I remenber visiting my cousin on a Sunday and he was raining abuses on one of his siblings.

U foolish boy , how many times would I have to tell U not to call ur junior sister an idiot shocked

I was like "dude, how can U correct him when U are also guilty of the same stuff" undecided

Foreign AffairsRe: Zimbabwe Introduces $500 Billion Note by Uche2nna(m): 6:17pm On May 16, 2008
@ Sky

I agree with You. I don't trust his real intentions behind the decisions he took  and I think I made that clear in the last paragraph of my post. He used a very sensitive situation to score political points but I think it has backfired.

@ landis

What sanctions are You talking about?  undecided I might be wrong but are the sanctions economic? Cos I thought the sanctions were majorly travel sanctions?  undecided

Even if they were economic sanctions, if the country was in good state prior the sanctions they could easily switch allegiances. Maybe do trade with the asians or something. If the sanctions affected them that much, then that means they havbe been living off grants from the west and Mugabe (just like most other African presidents) should be ashamed.

Sky Blue:
. Could the situation have been handled better, of course, if Mugabe was not such a dictator and corrupt and actually gave the farms to competent hands.
Does the problem lie in taking away the lands from the white man or does it lie in the fact that those lands are lying fallow  undecided

I don't have a problem with Mugabe taking away the lands (especially if those lands were acquired in suspicious situations). My wahala is that he did not have a plan on what to do after taking away those lands. Most times, I see very good decisions taken but the problem is that these decisions are taken in the heat of the moment with little or no regards to the consequences.

If Mugabe cared for his people (as much as he says) he would have started preparing them for this take-over 15 , 20 years ago. The indigenes would have been learning what it takes to run a mechanised farm so that when the onus falls on them to do that, it would not be that hard a transition.

Me thinks he is using sentiments and emotions to score cheap political points from the zimbabweans. It has back fired and backfired badly!!!!!

Frizy was talking about Marijuana and not the Igbo tribe. And yeah, that was the first thing that came to my mind even before Kevin went on to make a dumbass out of himself. The manner in which he lunged into the debate got me thinking weather he was high on something.

@ 4HIM
That was hilarious, thanks bro!!!!

That guy does not know Jackshit about what he was talking about. Simple question "Wetin Chamberlain do for 38/39 prior to the world war". The guy just kept on rambling and the more he did that the more it was obvious that he DID NOT KNOW shocked I was like You gotta be kidding me. He really does not know!!!!!!

I wonder what level of enlightment his listeners (mostly blue collared white americans) would have  undecided

Ibime:
They can legalise gay marriage as much as they want, it doesn't bother me - but I draw the line when it comes to gay adoption.
They have just legalised same sex marriage. What makes You think they would be prevented from adopting. I mean, thats the only way they can raise their own family apart from artificial insemination.

It kind of sound hypocritical being gay and wanting to adopt kids. Kids that came from the fusion of a male and female gamete  undecided

LOL.

Sometimes to win a war , U need to lose some battles. Fighting the man , on behalf of his wife who by the way does not even want my help, is a battle I would gladly lose. Like someone suggested, I would go to the cops. That would save my ass and that of the woman fromn the crazy dude.

you should have seen the punch he gave lady, i think it was reflex action from my side because i never get into altercation except it has to do with my family and the cab man was there to support me if he had whooped my ass  grin
I am not questioning ur motives. I am more concerned about ur safety in this kind of situation.

A man who have no qualms doing nasty things to his wife, do U think he would spare U ?  If he has a weapon, he might use it on you and U would not be prepared for that.

Generally, coming between man and wife is always a tricky situation no matter how noble ur intentions might be.

Doing stuff from afar is different from what tboy just narrated . I think he got too involved (just my opinion tho) especially when the girl in question ius even against his interference. Calling the cops is a good idea but entering into an altercation with the guy, hmmmm. Not me!!!!

It is kind of dangerous to get involved like that. U had good intentions obviously but U have to be careful about getting into domestic situations that aint none of ur biziness

I would tell You what he is waiting for . He is waiting for the last year of his tenure . Then he would come out with his own designs and proposals. He would now campaign for a second term based on the grounds he wants to finish what he started. Of course , he would win (by hook or by crook). Then he would spend the next 4 years adding more embroidery to his designs and proposals. Before You say Jack, he would have wasted another eight years with nothing less than designs to show for them. And may I also add that the cost of the designs would be grossly inflated.

And meanwhile, I really cant understand all this noise Nick's choice. Its his life and choice. If he likes let him get married to whoopie goldberg, I am completely uninterested and disinterested. After all, most of these marriages end up in divorce anyway.

The guy just sat on the fence and waited for the winner to emerge before throwing his support. It is a welcome development but it is not a critical one. He should be high on some reef from the inlands of Jamaica if he thinks he is gonna be a running mate to Obama
