When I came back from outside 2years with the intention of not building house and hostels like others do, I decided to build a company generating electricity through solar and then distributing it starting with community...in the city people were complaining NO LIGHT.....HIGH BILLS

I GOT MY LICENSE FROM NERC (national electricity regulatory commission) AND THEY WERE HAPPY ABOUT MY INTENSION....FEW MONTHS LATER INSTALLATION.... WIRINGS....A MONTHS AFTER WE KICK STARTED WITH 18HRS ELECTRICITY DAILY WE STARTED WITH ONLY FIVE SHOPS CAUSE PEOOLE THOUGHT IS WAYO SINCE YOU DONT GET 18HRS ELECTRICITY EVERYDAY IN NIGERIA...IN TWO WEEKS TIME WE WERE GETTING ABOUT 200SUSCRIBERS then more and more

A DISTRIBUTION COMAPNY STARTED PANICKING THEY APPROACHED ME TO TRY AND FRUSTRATE THE BUSINESS BECAUSE ONE OF THEIR WORKER ALREADY TOLD ME THE OGAS AT THEIR OFFICE ARE DISCUSSING THIS MY NEW IDEA AND MIGHT SHUT ME DOWN....WHEN THEY APROACHED ME I SHOWED THEM THE DOCUMENTS I GOT FROM NERC(NATIONAL ELECTRICITY REGULARLY COMISSION) THEY WERE DISAPPOINTED

THE NEXT WEEK DEVELOPMENT UNION CAME AND TOLD ME THE PLACE I MADE INSTALLATIONS ARE NOT GOOD WHICH IS IN A PLOT OF LAND I RENTED AND MOUNTED THE SOLAR PANELS I SHOULD REMOVE IT BUT AT FIRST BEFORE IS STARTED THEY WHERE THE ONES THAT GAVE ME THE GO AHEAD....BUT I KNOW MONEY HAS EXCHANGE HANDS FROM DISTRIBUTION COMPANY

The next the distribution company came and told me I shouldn't use thei pole but my license clearly gave me access to use the government installed poles.... I said ok and mounted mounted my own wooden poles because am still running a test on the young business...

Next they said its not serving enough people that i have to close it down or I should request for a DISTRIBUTION CERTIFICATE FROM NERC that it cost around 20million naira

But the electricity am generating does not require THE CERTIFICATE

THEN TRUTY I GAVE UP ON NIGERIA GOVERNMENT

PEOPLE WERE HOPING NIGERIA WILL BE BETTER WHERE AS THEY DON'T KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE TRIED STARTING TO BETTER IT IN A SMALL WAY BUT GOT SHUT DOWN....they want Nigeria to remain primitive so they can continue milking it.

The interesting fact about all these people is that, they created something that wasn't there before.
In Nigeria, you see extremely rich people who don't have any identifiable bizness.
They simply steal from govt & hide the billions in soakaways, overhead tanks or stash it abroad, in anonymous accounts, in anonymous countries like Panama.

THE BUFFET ANALOGY... CULLED FROM CNBC

Warren Buffett says index funds make the best retirement sense 'practically all the time'

If you're looking for a simple plan to build your retirement savings, one of the world's most successful stock market investors has some clear advice.

"Consistently buy an S&P 500 low-cost index fund," Warren Buffett told CNBC's On The Money in an interview recently. "I think it's the thing that makes the most sense practically all of the time."

And he suggests staying the course, despite market fluctuations. "Keep buying it through thick and thin, and especially through thin," the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway said with a laugh.

On Friday, stocks dipped on mixed economic data and poor results from major retailers. Buffett suggested investors should take gloomy news with a grain of salt, however.

"The temptation when you see bad headlines in newspapers is to say, well, maybe I should skip a year or something. Just keep buying," he said. "American business is going to do fine over time, so you know the investment universe is going to do very well."

As proof of the record of long term growth, the "Oracle of Omaha" remarked that the Dow Jones Industrial Average "went from 66 to 11,497 in one century," recalling the index's exact close at the end of 1999.

"And since that century has ended it's more or less doubled again," Buffett added. Last week, the Dow closed just shy of 21,000.

Don't be a stock picker
Warren Buffett
David A. Grogan | CNBC

The question remains, which shares should investors buy exactly? Buffett says an index fund is a way to avoid the risk of picking individual stocks.

"The trick is not to pick the right company, the trick is to essentially buy all the big companies through the S&P 500 and to do it consistently and to do it in a very, very low cost way," he added.

Buffett points to the fee savings built into low-cost index funds. The largest such S&P 500 fund, Vanguard's 500 Index Fund, boasts expense ratios of less than a percentage point.

"Costs really matter in investments," said Buffett, who in the past has taken aim at costly funds. "If returns are going to be seven or eight percent and you're paying one percent for fees that makes an enormous difference in how much money you're going to have in retirement."

He added that investors can keep more of their retirement savings by cutting investment costs, by reducing management fees or commissions charged by financial advisors.

"Just remember, the person you're talking to, your fees are their income," the billionaire said.

"And it leaves your pocket and goes to them and you'd better get something for it. And you really don't get it in investment management," he said. "The record shows that the unmanaged index fund is going to do quite well over time and active investment as a group can't beat it."

Most employer-run 401(k) retirement plans offer multiple mutual funds with different assets strategies, but Buffett warned against going with those options, saying "you'll do very well with an S&P index."

He added: "And don't let them talk to you about other index funds…and say you know, you have to have foreign or maybe you can pick a better industry. You'll almost always find it comes with bigger fees."

He conceded that luck can play a role. "Sure, some are going to have better than average just but the fact that if you flip a coin, some are going to call heads and some are going to call tails. And one or the other will be right at that time."

Still, the Oracle of Omaha warned that "you do not want to ever get the impression that you can pick stocks" and that "can enable you to have an edge. It just doesn't work that way."

10kbelow:
AFRICAN WHO DID NOT HELP AFRICANS: KOFI ANNAN 1938-2018.

KOFI DIED THIS MORNING AT THE AGE OF 80.

One of the most indelible horrors I ever watched was the Rwandan genocide. As I watched hotel Rwanda one question kept racing through my mind : why did the world sit idly while eight hundred thousand Tutsis were murdered by the Hutu countrymen? Why didn't the United Nations intervene? The day you watch that movie I assure you that you won't sleep with dry eyes.

But that's not all there is to that genocide ...the untold part is the Kofi part!

On January 11,1994 three months before the genocide began General Romeo Dailare head of the original UN peace keeping unit in Rwanda informed Kofi Annan of the plan by the Hutu militia to exterminate the Tutsi minority in Rwanda. He warned of the looming genocide but the man running the relevant department of the universe peace keeping mission Kofi Annan did nothing! He refused to alert the United Nations, he refused to raise any alarm to alert the UN to intervene and stop that genocide. All he did was sit down while the Hutus concluded their plans and murdered eight hundred thousand Tutsis !

Not only did Kofi not do anything to prevent the genocide bit his actions assured that the Security Council wouldn't either.

Today Kofi is dead and we may be forced to mourn him but who mourned the eight hundred Tutsis murdered because of his actions? Who will mourn all those young people who were cut in their prime because Kofi refused to act? Who will console mothers who lost their children to that inglorious incident?

God has a lot to judge and if their be life after this life Kofi will have the odious task of looking indo the eyes of the victims of his actions and tell them how it all happened.

Does the writer of this horseshit up there know how the U.N. operate?

Was Koffi Annan Secretary thenhuh

The answer is NO

Bill Clinton was trying to play safe because he has already burnt his hands with that failed operation on Somalia

And the U.N. security council consists of 5 permanent members of which France and U.S. are members

France would have NEVER approved of a resolution against Rwanda And that is the TRUTH

Rwanda's case was a tragedy

But don't even think of blaming Annan for it.

Blame the evil Hutu leadership

This is why touts with no visible assets end up in politics. Many buildings were sealed or in worst case scenario demolished because of political differences in many states in Nigeria. El Rufai did the same thing in Abuja. Politics in Nigeria must be approached with the spirit of a mafian to survive. Sometimes I don't blame the Nigerian politicians because they are the products of the society where humility, meekness, empathy is misconstrued as weakness.
