tpiander: They'll be very ok once they're independently making their own money without assistance.
Remittances are not any lifeblood, it's simply the support sent from people's earnings to assist folks back home.
The disaster is the current situation Nigerians are experiencing even with the remittance.
Small businesses depending on private sector renumerations and boosts, might need to look to governmental support which is more standard and reliable, unlike the erratic nature of remittances. you cannot discount the importance of these remittances especially in Today's Nigeria That the govt has sent to the abyss |

timesup234: remittance is less than 0.1% of money and resources stolen from Nigeria by American corporations every single day. Who is setting the slave rules and laws you follow? remittances are $28b thereabouts And you claim that this is less than 0.1% of money stolen from Nigeria by American corporations there is no polite way to say this But you are VERY DAFT |

How do you think many have been coping? how do you think those guys who sell stuff will cope of the remittances are cut off It's like you don't understand the full implications of that @Salford, it's like people don't get this.... tpiander: They'll be ok. Remitting money in millions from overseas skyrocketed in the last 20 years or so as more Nigerians emigrated. It created a cash flow dependency where private sources replaced governmental oversight.
I dunno if the overseas remittances are alleviating poverty or escalating it.
Nigerians today are less civilized than before. Civilization is considered redundant when there is general poverty.
Possibly. i am sure they won't be okay remittances are the lifeblood losing that will be disaster businesses who depend on those who receive remittance will be done for that is just one effect. |

Jakumo: The random attacks by hordes of hungry and jobless Lagos thieves, are purely about looting and hunger, with ZERO correlation to anything occurring anywhere else in the world.
Crazed by hunger, the predatory swarms of famished and desperate Lagos traffic monkeys await ANY excuse to attack ANYBODY, and steal their property, so as to secure that all important next meal.
Hurricane in Barbados - Attack people in their cars in Lagos.
Ebola outbreak in Congo - Ransack, burn and loot shops in Lagos.
Donald Trump's daughter adopts a new hairstyle in Washington - Smash windscreens and grab valuables in Lagos traffic gridlock.
Manchester United loses against Everton over the weekend - Chase down a few innocent people, accuse them of witchcraft, murder them and burn their twitching corpses with gasoline-soaked tires.
But for the presence of the international airport that is most unfortunately located in Lagos, I personally would have no reason to EVER set foot there until hell freezes over. Mercifully, I will, for as long as I draw breath on this planet, NEVER find a reason to visit South Africa, which is another hotbed of angry, intoxicated and desperately hungry lunatics.
The population of Lagos comprises AT LEAST 70% wild-eyed, hunger-crazed, and instinctively murderous inbred cretins, all teetering on a knife-edge, and awaiting the flimsiest excuse to shed innocent blood and destroy property.
Lagos = Hell on Earth. what is this one saying? |

OkCornel: Oh, the double standards in the nature of man.
See how the xenophobes (SA Kettles) and the unrepentant tribalists (Nigerian pots) are struggling to outdo one another in proving who is blacker than whom...whereas all parties are guilty of hatred and jealousy within themselves.
One of the greatest folly I have seen in this realm of existence is how humans have allowed differences they made no conscious choice of to rip apart the very fiber of their existence. No one consciously decided to be a Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa, Fulani, Zulu e.t.c, but unfortunately, we have allowed these differences to empower us in destroying one another.
Xenophobia, Tribalism, Racism are merely outlets to express the deep rooted hatred and jealousy in man for his fellow man. Kindness or wickedness is a choice. Until we address the underlying causes of this nonsense (hatred and jealousy), we will keep reacting emotionally to the results (SA Xenophobia, Rwandan Genocide, Nigerian Civil war e.t.c) ...rather than the cause...which is tantamount to taking paracetamol to ease the pains of cancer.
So ironic how the guilty parties think they can live in harmony and unity in heaven, whereas they are at each other's throat here on earth. interesting |

salford: The reason why western countries come hard on fraudstars is because the entire fabric/system of their respective countries is based on honesty. There is no perfect system. These systems are put in place to make life easy for everyone and to advance their economies. When fraudstars try to abuse the system, they come hard on them before it becomes an infestation like it is in Nigeria and other shytehole countries.
There are countless people working in positions of authorities in Banks and other financial instituitions with access to customers information. They can easily commit fraud with these information, but they choose not to. They know there are harsh consequences for illegality. Exactly |

While the policy is not good due to impact on permanent residents in the armed forces and other government roles that require them to be abroad, it has nothing to do with Nigerians specifically. Also naturalized citizens are not affected - you get American Citizenship either by been born in the USA or if your parents are Citizens. This does not change that. true that |

Blackivy27: Men manipulate women to enter a relationship with her. Or seduce insecure women to get cash. Women manipulate for a mirad of reasons. A man manipulating on a woman is more obvious than a woman doing it. If a man is manipulating me i would know but might be too lonely or insecure to act on it. A woman will do the same thing while skillfully allowing the man feel he's the one in control. many times when a woman is hooked on the guy And really loves him she is manipulated easily And she does not know or will not even see it I know what I'm sayin I'm not proud to say it... But I have been a perpetrator of such so I know |
