please house, a female friend has been asking me on certain courses that she could take here to increase her chances of getting a better paying job. She was thinking of taking some swimming courses just to get a certificate that can enable her be a life guard but being that this country is an Islamic country i discouraged her as i can't remember ever meeting a female life guard. She swims very well and a citizen of Kenya. She has been working in Abu Dhabi for more than 1 year.

I will need as much suggestions as possible. Special attention #Justi4jesu #Monchouchou

UAE labour law might be changing soon, i think the new provision is a little more flexible than the former law which seems strict and gives employers more power

1. Most ladies dont wanna start small. How many Nigerian ladies want to marry a guy earning 60k per month and staying in a self-contain apartment?

2. Many guys are just too stupid. Day to want to spend 2 million naira for a wedding, insted of dem to just do a small wedding. So day keep saving and saving and the money is neva complete.

3. Most ladies are looking for ready-made guys, and day also want expensive weddings.

4. Wedding ceremonies have become compulsorily expensive. If some tribe give you marriage list ehn, you go believe God.

5. A lot of good guys have inferiority complex and cannot approach d rich single ladies, leaving dem at d mercy of gold-diggers and scammers who mess up dia lives and turn dem to tigress so d boomerang effect is dat day stop trusting men and as such become more unapproachable and thus remain single.

6. Most rich single ladies cant chase, toast or propose to guys becos of stereotype.

I collected some file Tru blutut from someone and my fone got virus.

Formatted fone 4tyms,it still persist, had to format SD card too.

Now I am no backup. Only few of my stuffs was safe in Google Drive.

The help I need now is, am using my naija number on whatsapp, now I tried using it again, but it could not receive verification code, I picked call me, but dey keep telling me failed. How do I go about it plz. I need it

You can do it if you answered yes to the first or both questions. I did mine 3 days ago, i received confirmation code by sms.

To activate by sms, place your Nigerian sim in a phone, try to send an sms to your Nigerian number using your Dubai number, how long did it take the message to come in? If you received it immediately then chances are that it was network problem that stopped your whatsapp confirmation code from delivering to your phone but if you didnt get the message you sent to yourself immediately then it's from your end (probably you have a lot of pending messages). In this situation, i will put my Nigerian sim in a smart phone, preferrably the one i want to activate the whatsapp on, wait for a while, send another text message to my Nigerian number until it delivers promptly, by then i would have received couple of other pending messages. Then i will try activating the whatsapp again and it works just fine.

I must attend this carnival in few years time.

I have been desiring to attend this carnival for over 3 years. I hope to attend this year.

With the right job, people and information you will enjoy your life but work here is usually 12 hours in most cases. The weather could be crazy but you will get used to it. Decent girls are scarce, even in church the runs girls are still there , the few decent ones are at work most of the time. We go to church mostly on fridays when they go to mosque. Consumption of alcohols are limited but you.will still find it in the bar, illegal drinking house, clubs, and being hustled on the street like drug is done in Europe. Talking about clubs, they close by 3:am. we say TGIT (Thank God is Thursday) here, yes, Thursday is like Friday in Naija, clubs are full, taxis are booked people are all out there in the street. We have deserts here but there are some nice beaches to go to. You will never get out of idea on interesting places and things to see. If you like food just like me, i believe food is more cheaper here when compared to Nigeria. The young generation of Emiratis can understand and speak good English and they are friendly although there is always an exception. Now if you make up your mind to come here, be prepared to meet a lot of Indians, Pakistanis, Filipinos, Arabs every single day of your life here. The Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and one of my Nigerian friend spits everywhere at the rate of 10 times per minute. English, Arabic, Hindi/Urdu, Tagalog language is the most common language here, you can always get along if you understand any of these language. If you are have not lived outside Nigeria before please brace yourself to live by the laws here it's not a free society like Nigeria.

Now that i have finished my sermon, i have one question for you, do you smoke? don't forget your lighter... the tobacco ministry has moved from permanent site to final camp in this country.

Which Dubai job site can one search for openings in an offshore location..... Because all the jobs on the job site seems to be onshore and land jobs.Or no FPSO, And the rest offshore locations in Dubai?

We have mostly Jackup rigs and Island rigs for the offshore... However there is more onshore activities mostly in the desert areas.

I wonder how people that stay on the streets begging tourists to take them to shops so they can get commissions out of anything the customer buys will be living well than people working,If they are doing better than you, I don't agree they are doing better than me, and If truly you are working you wouldn't make such statement and also stop advertising and telling people to buy residence without working thereby deceiving UAE Government that they actually have jobs. Truth be told some of them are making it big but you have more rest of mind when you are working and earning salary.

Someone who is on the street doesn't have a limit or guarantee on what he can make. They mostly dont live an organized life. One of my friend who survived the raid that i was a victim of was already worth almost 3 million in my last field break. This is someone who has felt like giving up so many times after regretting closing his business in Onitsha main market to come here. Today he has larger customer base mostly from his fellow trader in Onitsha. He packs bale of fabrics, loads container and send some goods home to be sold for him. Things changed for him in a space of few months after several months of hardship.

A lot of salient and underlying factors exist why relationships of many years 'dilapidate' in a twinkling of an eye.

I'm not against dating an undergraduate but I'm against dating one with an undergraduate's mindset. There are quite many who believe they are not yet ready for this whole relationship saga hence doing you a favour hanging out with you. Shocking, but true. To such, I say, Bon Voyage!

When these girls behave that way, some times, you don't get to blame them even as Ladies in general believe you know what you're up to coming to ask them out...The crux of this thread is Dating a Working Class Lady Has More Advantages And Better Chances Of A "Safe Landing"Than Dating An 'undergraduate'. Let's see some of my reasons:


1. Good Money Management Skill.

A working class lady better understand how hard it is to make money. Yes, she buys shoes and some times engage in profligate spending but with caution. She tries to keep a part for the rainy weeks, LOL. With this attitude of hers, you can hand your ATM to her without worries


2. Maturity

Maturity is built in her through the stress at work. Though girls will be girls but there are some things you won't see her get involved in. Imagine her working and schooling at same time, you'll hardly even see her in social networks sef. How we need mature ladies in the dating game and not just recharge card beggers.


3. Her Generosity Is Heightened

It is expected she has conquered the "Me Alone" attitude because a part of her salary goes to her family, supposedly. Some times, she sends some to her siblings. Most times, she is left with a little. At those moments, her dp will change, "Family is everything". True! Those guys in her work place wondering, "what's she doing with her money?". Now you know. You can be sure she will be of financial help to both in-laws.


4. She Has A 'better' Idea On What She Really Need In Her Man.

She has met several kinds of guys, so her choosing you is more of her "last resort". Having dated "many guys", you're one lucky dude. o:
You can't count on an undergraduate that much. She still has many choices to make: Uni, Masters, NYSC, Work place etc. Oh mehn!


5. Financial Assistance

She can be of great help when the burden of pre-marriage activities come knocking. Also, she won't just come into your house with her GMG, but with some of her things too that will benefit all. It's not compulsory but it's relieving, you know.

6. Less Time for Casual/Childish Stuff

It's hard to find a working class Lady who is engrossed with work find time to live carelessly (partying). It might exist but only in rare cases. More often than not, she spends time with her closest besties not with any T, D & H. If she is ALWAYS on Social Network, forget it. At least, you can tell she has a dream, a passion, a drive. Even if she is less busy, she tries to perfect her tailoring, dancing or designing skill. She hates being idle. Above all, childish stuff like being the FTC or making money out of guys on internet or real life disgusts her.


7. Work Exposure

Having to work with other married colleague of hers, she gets to know the real needs of every man thus coming into marriage with some form of relevant information. Just hope she doesn't meet the wrong women sha.

They blocked me even though i registered mine in 2010 and some other time i cant remember.

Nigeria and many companies there have poor customer relationship. They are not fair in implementation of their laws. My 2nd MTN number will be 10 years next year i have been consistent and has never defaulted in anyway ever since i started using it. I maintain my MTN number and even have my whatsapp account very active. I was blocked from the network without adequate grace period to update any information needed.

It's also similar to the gamble they are playing in the banking sector. I swear that CBN governor must be a regular player of baba Ijebu (lotto ). When i left Nigeria my atm card daily withdrawal limit was increased to almost 600,000 naira while abroad, it was later reduced to about 60,000 and now nothing exvept POS or online.

Last week on our way to Al Ain we branched so wia in Abu Dhabi, I met a guy and I was complaining about d weather and he told me his oda roommate' a Nigerian left a day b4 becos of the weather. I was like SHUUUU!!!!!


But here in AL Ain, I can av my bathe with water running out of d tap immediately, but at Dubai wia i was b4,its either I fetch my water at night so dat it can cool off and I use it to bathe in the morning or I get my water and place it close to the AC. It's damn too hot. Yet Dem say am lucky I came towards the end

I haven't been to Kano but i know it is hotter here... In Nigeria we say it's very hot when we have above 30 degrees but here we say it is hot when it's above 40 degrees and it gets to 50 degrees at times. However, you will certainly be able to cope.

If not that it will include a lot of links i would've love to post a lot of it here, but i will try to create a post that will highlight the companies without a link and share here.

fares from Dubai to Abu Dhabi are from 25 Dirhams to 50 Dirhams depending on the means and timing. I also think Al Ghubaiba is the best place to get bus from except you leave around sheikh zayed road down to Jebel Ali then IBN Battuta metro statio will be your best option. However, last bus from IBN Battuta leaves around 9:00pm while the last bus from Al Ghubaiba leaves around 01:30am. You can always get shared taxi more easily at Al Ghubaiba more than IBN Battuta.

COST

1) RTA bus - 25 Dirhams you can pay by RTA card or cash.
2) I've once used shared RTA family taxi from IBN Battuta and paid 35 Dirhams.
3) I've also used RTA shared family taxi from Al Ghubaiba to Abu Dhabi by 2:30am and paid 50 Dirhams.
4) I often use unregistered Pakistani taxis, the price is between 30 Dirhams to 50 Dirhams depending on time of the day, driver, number of available passengers etc please don't use this if you are new in town, although it is the fastest means around 1:20minutes instead of the RTA bus duration of about 2:30 minutes their wahala dey too much at times as some of them no dey hear english at all... dem fit carry you go suburb of Abu Dhabi.(These type of taxi are available at Al Ghubaiba bus station, Around Al Sabkha bus station etc)

BY METRO
On the green line route of the metro train, enter a train going to creek and drop at Al Ghubaiba metro station.

BY RTA BUS
There are buses going from almost all part of Dubai to Al Ghubaiba which is located in the bur Dubai area, just check the information board at any bus station close to you.

BY TAXI
Using a taxi from anywhere around Deira, Bur dubai should cost between 12 dirhams and 20 Dirhams.

NOTE
Abu Dhabi occupies about 70% of the whole UAE, while other emirates share the remaining. Abu Dhabi has so many suburbs please be sure of where you are going. Taxis are cheaper but it will be more expensive if the journey is far. Some suburbs could take you over 2 hours to access from the bus station with the cost of taxi running in hundreds of Dirhams whereas you could use a bus and pay around 4 dirhams or maximum of about 25 Dirhams when going to places like the western region.

Good to hear from you sir. I understand that feeling of people looking up to you because you are on ground to make things happen for them in some ways but at the end, the result doesn't come close to their/your expectations. If you have a mid/high cadre profession on your I.D, you may not need to get a visa before coming from there. Same way they do for us here. They have all the professions grouped in different categories with certain perks and benefits. Overall, it's quite easier for people from UAE to visit. At least I know that for other nationalities. I think someone mentioned here recently he/she visited Qatar from your end. How's work and life treating you generally over there? The fall in oil prices isn't helping the job market. Do something about it

I don't have anything mid/high yet, but i'm optimistic i will. work has been mean just as its name implies... lol. The weather isn't friendly at all. However, on the fall of oil price this people seems to have a shield against that and thrives more than every other region as they are still acquiring new rigs, recruiting and expanding. I believe Qatar will be similar. How is life at your end?
