zimams: 50% drop in dividend payout. Meaning that permutations around Dividend Yield based on N1 dividend is all in the water....
I'm personally upset by the opportunity cost of this investment. I could have fortified my Zenith holdings further. UBA dea... dem fall hand sha.. Real opportunity cost.... The bank should have issued profit warning father care about their shareholders. There about is 50% loss in the bank activities, which might have hindered their dividend payment. The group did well overall |

Lion123: I hear UBA has problems in that 40% of the bank's loans are to its chairman's companies. And these are dollar loans he is struggling to repay. Serious matter if it's true |

prof2007: Here is the reason for Mobil's delisting, after 43 years on the NSE, according to the company itself: “The purpose of delisting is to enable the Company explore strategic opportunities, alliances and collaborations that can bolster earnings and/or provide synergized benefits with little or no regulatory obligations."
In simple English: "Benefits of Mobil being in the NSE have become overshadowed by the costs."
In Pidgin: "Mobil water for NSE dọn pass the garri."
At the AGM 14 Oct 2020, a resolution was passed to delist the 360,595,262 shares of 11 Plc on the NSE, at an exit consideration of N213.90 per share. After delisting, 11 Plc will continue its operations as an unlisted Public Company and the delisting will have no impact on existing employment of its staff or the composition of the Board of Directors. on the Pidgin aspect |

zimams: True ...you are very correct. Entry price is very important. But my point is that your entry price and whether you should buy at all should be driven more by financial health of the company and its ability to make profit.
Everything is cyclical... hot money comes and goes. If you bought right and you have medium to long term objectives.... you wont worry about hot money leaving.
Your perspective and objective is everything.
In 2007/2008 I bought Zenith at 47.60/share... it turned to dust in my hands when the market crashed. The same Zenith is a substantial part of my portfolio today with average entry price at 13.37. We still dey hold....
People wey dey fear recession..... make I remind una say.... na inside this recession wey some stocks don deliver 100 % - 200 % to some of us here....
Just know your objective in the market and buy right.... then allow nature (time + forces of demand and supply/market ) do its thing..
Again this is me o! Strictly my opinion. Very Apt Like your way o |

zimams: Just thinking aloud...
What's the chance that Dangcem will increase divided having reduced their outstanding shares through the 1st phase of their share buy back scheme? Most likely will retain the N16 they paid last year....don't forget they used retained earnings to pay the latest year dividend Next upward review of their dividend may be in 2-3years at N20 per share ..my thoughts though... |

Lheman: Pls I have another question as regards Proof of Financial Support; I have someone that is willing to sponsor me. He is my uncle.
Can he transfer the funds for (tuition+maintenance fees+ accommodation) to my own personal account? If YES, do I need to get any letter of sponsorship from him or gift of deeds (for the money transferred)? I’m afraid the transfer of large sums of money might raise a concern in the mind of the visa officer?
OR is it that the most important thing is that the money should just be in the student’s account for the 28 days period or more; the visa manager does not care about the source of funds?
Also, do I need to pay the whole tuition fee (for the issuance of CAS) or any amount/deposit prior to applying for visa? ( what I actually mean is that can I pay part of the tuition and leave the rest in my account?
I know my questions are MUCH but pls, help a brother. Your vital and Swift responses will be highly appreciated. God bless you all. Please who is Visa Manager? |

ojesymsym: How can someone begrudge another person for investing in stock, a global type of investment allover the world. I found that statement strange. Everyone is even supposed to be happy that banks make profit because once they start running at a loss, it will be the many depositors that will be worse hit when such banks fold up. Many of those depositors will be we poor people that those guys claim to be fighting for.
Are you saying they invested in MBA, one of the guys says he is in Europe, you mean even with such enlightenment? I wonder who is more greedy between the man who wants his money doubled vs the one who invested in a business in the NSE. Strange They will soon come after you oo For me, am happy the banks are making money for their shareholders period... Despite the pandemic, Zenith made an impressive performance in FY2020...I give kudos to the management of the bank. ...waiting for ACCESS, UBA, GTBANK, FBNH etc |

emmanuelewumi: Two of the people bashing the banks for charging interest of 1.5% per month, invested in MBA forex hoping to be paid 15% per month.
Who does not know that MBA forex is a scam.
Maxwell could easily get a loan at 18% per annum, instead of paying 180% to the so called Investors.
I guess they have not gotten over their losses in MBA forex scam, hence they are transferring their frustrations and agreession on banks claiming to be defending poor and helpless Nigerians ....I dislike headaches... |

As for Mobil, I agree, think the best bet for those who bought at higher price especially is to leave it and continue enjoying dividends. Mobil is just delisting on NSE and relisting on NASD OTC. Thanks bro. What is pursuing Mobil out of NSE into NASD OTC ? |

For Custodian, that stock na Baba for that sector ooo. I wonder when this apathy towards insurance sector will end, especially for the good ones........the stock is under-valued in my opinion. Donbrig: I forbid the art of making money to the detriment of other people. My step mother worked as a bank manager for 8yrs in old generation bank, our banks are rogues, I don't want to go into details or argue. But I think we still have a lot of work to do in sanitizing our banking industry.
They are stealing billions from poor and helpless Nigerians every day, that's my fight and anger whenever they declare huge profits as if they have honestly worked hard for it. Take life easy Sir. Weldone. |
