British people just love to complain about everything..... there are no carers, you bring carers then the next song is why are they mainly immigrants .... yawn .

Few months ago flights were cancelled up and down due to lack of staffs in the airport, now you have a potential influx of dependent that can work in the airport, another complain that they are too much but yet you are making record figures in IHS and Visa fees. .... few years ago UNi were complaining of enrollment been down

Just sit and calculate 10 years or 5 years path to ilr and see the eye watering amount for even a family of 4

Make people live UK with their country . Let see how UK can really trive and grow without human capital . They talk that people are coming here for benefit yet there are many other countries with better benefit . Maybe they need to be taught a lesson. ... They complain just too much .

Leave them let there be no carer, no airport staffs, no fruit pickers, no drivers, no doctors ... let there be no staff so we can hear word

Last 2 weeks, l was the lead surgeon and my assistant was also Nigerian and the junior doctor was also a Nigerian....the rest of the OT staff were all immigrants from other nationals....

...indeed they really need us more than we need them..... grin grin

Honestly, I dont know why he just want to cause unrest, there are documents signed to that effect, and knowing fully well that Obajana alone employs more staffs than the state can, if Obajana shutdown today Ehn, Kogite r in soup.

I served there, and i know what it's like before Dangote pay salary, even market Women knows....people buy things on credit hoping for the next round of Dangote salary, so many lies peddled by the state and ignorant ones among them, I hear things like their indigene only occupy casual Positions etc , just imagine, the highest paid Black Man in Dangote is Engr Makoju, he died last year or so, he is an Ebira Man, I know many Kogi indigene occupying top top positions there.

In fact, the Igala occupied very juicy positions in the company, even more than the Oworo people that owned the Land in Obajana.

An entire estate is built for the Oworo people, and large percentage of them are employed there most of the time, that's you hardly see them join any outcry, Dangote settled them.

The only bad side is that their leaders instead of asking for more CSR projects from Dangote, prefer to get brown envelope for their pocket.

Well said

There's nothing anyone is doing that they are hiding from you.

The decision is made by an algorithm that works on the basis of a multitude of data points including your own age/experience/license type and also the car type, age, engine size/mileage etc etc.

There are so many variables, and your circumstances are just different from theirs. Try changing things around as best you can - like checking for another car model etc, and then working to get your NCD to reduce the price down the line.

You know we like blaming village people for everything..... grin grin

One major factor is location. My insurance once dropped from £1200 to £700 because I relocated from Manchester to Devon

This is another big factor too he should consider

That is fair, £66.6/ month for each driver, £800 annually for each on your current DL.
Also is any or both of you insured on another car or just the given above?

Maybe the two people he put is making the premium high

I put 10years of driving experience.
My car is Peugeot 207, 2008 model .
The cheapest I have seen is £1600 for myself and my wife. I chose that I park the car at my Residential Parking at Night and at office parking during the day.
Total annual mileage 6000miles. I have not made any insurance claims back home, but if I chose it, they ask me to produce evidence.

I got £680 per annum without blackbox with admiral insurance in January with similar condition as yours, except my wife wasn't in the insurance. When i passed my manual driving test, i updated it in their app without any payment.
Maybe you should give them a call...

Hello Guys!

Please, for those that have insured their cars in the UK, please how did you get cheap insurance?
I have tried Marshmallow, Admiralty, elephants, RACs but I do get a high fee. I have reduced my annual mileage, uses international Drivers license. Please, if you know what I need to do, please let me know.
Thanks very much

How many years of driving experience did you put in the form?

What was the annual cost you were given by the insurance coys?

What is the make and year of the car?

Where will you be parking the car in the house and at work?

Any previous car insurance claims back home?

In 2018 i travelled to Nigeria and a friend visited me, while we were chatting he asked if i have investments in Nigeria i said no and explained t issues i have with investing in Nigeria.

This brother started telling me why its important to invest in Nigeria and not the UK and one of the many reasons he gave was that...one day the white man can decide to strip all foreigners of their citizenship and ask us to leave, no place like home, you are a king and lion bla bla bla

Last year he contacted me asking for info about relocating to the UK as Nigeria situation is unbearable...i remembered to ask him about his comment few years ago but i held my peace.

My point is..no place is heaven but where ever you found yourself make an effort to enjoy it else move...

.....words on marble.....

This bit depends on instructors really. My old instructor wanted £180 on test day and I was cool with it cos it was like the norm in my area.
My new instructor wanted just 3hrs of lesson payment which I did use up cos I did like a 1hr 30 mins warm up driving on test day. And I just paid £90 on test day.
Some Instructors are just greedy because there’s no point in overcharging on test day really

When I passed my driving test some months ago, it was £60 for 2 hours i paid to my driving instructor on the test date.....

Alright, thank you. Maybe its not that bad then.
Cos he does not want to leave his lawyer work where he is quite comfortable to be doing menial work in UK. Thats his biggest fear.

He can Google how to practice as a lawyer in the UK from Nigeria and if there are exams to write, he can write them and qualify to practice as a lawyer in the UK too. It's about making good research and asking colleagues who might have successfully moved to the UK and practice as lawyers. Nothing is impossible if you work for it.

If you're working and earning a regular income, a TV licence is not a big deal, why give yourself unnecessary stress about what to watch when you can just pay for the damn thing and watch what you want on any device any day or time. It doesn't worth all the long conversations here. You can either pay £159 at once or you pay monthly. Additionally, you can use the license for other things like proof of address. And if you don't earn a regular income or you're not buoyant enough to pay for the license, why have a TV in the first place?

Finally, in these days of online entertainment and sports, there's no way you will not watch an online live event for which a TV licence is also needed. Get a TV licence and enjoy yourself to the fullest, simple.

Exactly.

I paid the damn £159....and l have forgotten it self and relaxed to enjoy my TV and other gadgets without watching my doors for anyone...

You are 100% wrong, they did not lie to you about anything, like i said before the cost of studying in the UK is open to everyone to read and make personal decisions.

You don't have to send paid email and it will not affect the outcome of your visa application.

This got zero to do with criminality or 419, i mean ZERO

I really don't know why people are complaining....its not a must to japaa to any country. Its a personal decision.

Hello Ancestors on this forum.I hail you all Please I want to ask a question and it is an observation.I noticed that anytime a colleague of mine help with transportation he always wants to drop me at my doorstep.Dont get me wrong as I don't have any issues with that but recently myself and him travelled to a far distance to go and work and on our return I felt for him as we have been driving for almost two hours,so I asked him to drop me in a near by road that I can easily access my house so he too can go home to his family and rest but he still insisted on taking me to my doorstep. So this arouse my curiosity if it is wrong to drop people on the road in the UK or any other consideration for this culture shock.
Pls what do you think?

no reasons....just nice

Hello house, I recently moved into the UK on August 12 this year and I came in with my international driving license from Nigeria, So to ease my movement of moving around the UK.

Now after I recently purchased my car a Mazda 6 grin grin
Paid the road tax successfully.

Now to get an insurance, I discovered I’m going to be charged about £7000 /year for insurance

Please, how do i go about the insurance, as it’s illegal to drive without a insurance in the Uk

£700/Yr is ok for insurance with Nigeria license.
Please don't try to drive without valid car insurance because if police catch you, you will get driving points in your UK driving licence you will later get.

God forbid that you cone get road traffic accident with your car without valid car insurance, hmmmm......

you need to book first on the gov.uk website with any date available, then use any of the apps ( driving test cancellations or Testi driving test cancellation) to get a closer dates. Ensure you have a driving instructor that is willing to take you for the driving test in the shortest notice if you get a closer booking date from any of the apps. Cheers!

It was actually a pleasant experience, in comparison to my hostel experience..........

When I entered UK, no where to go..... I called a homeless centre, I was referred to a homeless unit in Hither Green. This homeless unit housed druggies, those homeless people that slept in front of shops etc etc etc.......

I stayed in this unit for almost 6 months......... My eyes too don see something..........

That hostel was about £131 per week........ I was economical with the truth, when I was asked if I was on unemployment benefits........... grin

They kept chasing DSS etc etc , when alarm wan burst, I take off ............ grin

I still have the contract I signed........... It's now looking faded.........
