First of all, many thanks to @Abdomox and @NotSoBossyBoss who gave me the tip to send an email request for an account to be opened as a new user.

So when I tried to book, the earliest date available was January 2023 and my resumption date is this fall by August 2022.
How have you guys done it? Did any get an earlier date?

Although a friend advised that I pick the January 2023 appointment and opt for the expedited option in a month's time.
I have now scheduled my appointment for January and would request an emergency appointment later.

I would like to know if I am on the right track on this or are there are other ways? I am a new applicant!

Congrats. Did all of these embassy encounters happen in Abuja?

I'm currently enrolled in school and I'm stranded here in Lagos. My Lagos emergency request is more than 2 weeks old and hasn't been answered. Should I go and lodge complaints like you did? Maybe I'll be lucky to get quick dates on the emergency portal.

What do you think? My last appointment was dropbox; I missed it and showed up a week after, but they refused to collect my documents

Looks like we're in the same boat. My emergency request has not been responded to for 2 weeks now. I can't cancel because I will be back to square one. What if Abuja request takes longer? What if I will be asked to pay a new visa fee? What if there are no dropbox dates (I'm eligible for renewal)? What ifs and what ifs...

If I were you, I'd wait for the emergency request to be responded to, which is exactly what I'm doing. My school is in session right now and I'm praying hard I get a visa before my exams.

Okay looks like you guys are not getting any feedback. You may have to send an email to the Abuja consulate. Narrate what happened the first time and let them know you have to return back to campus for your finals that's coming up soon. You should get a response on the next thing to do.

Well, it depends on the school. If they are saying there's funding available after second semester then there's funding available. Meanwhile, as a student you will have the opportunity to apply to some scholarships (private donor scholarships). The real deal is, do you have a means to pay for the first semester yourself? If yes then prepare for your visa and what you will tell the VO if asked who will sponsor you.

Please my friend needs advise. He got his visa in January for Spring 2022 but wasn't able to resume cos his school refused to grant him an extension so he deferred to Fall 2022. He is now worried that he might have issues at the POE about why his visa issue date is January and he is just resuming in August. Has anyone experienced this and hope there wasn't much issues.

Well he should not forget to request for a new i-20 before he travels that's the most important thing. The day his visa was issued is not important as long as it's still valid

You will create account with WES. Then take your reference number to WAEC office and request for your result to be sent. If you're in Lagos, it's the one at Jibowu you will go. Do the same for your secondary school but your secondary School can send it direct to the school.

Then you can send your documents to WES and they send to your school in the US. It's another way but your school in Nigeria can send your statement of result directly

No decision can come in as late at July especially if the school wants to consider an applicant for funding. We have people that accept an offer but at the end they get a better one

There's August 2023, Lagos normal interview available now.

He may be lucky with appointment as I assume they have someone that helps with that cos of how fast his wife got the B2 appointment.

I think he has a better chance with B1 cos one could reason that it’s been 6YEARS since his rejection and the only reason he is attempting US again is cos of the conference otherwise he may never apply again. Other than why come back to apply for Holiday to the US after 6years ? I dunno sha

Good, you get the point. Reason for "they should rethink their November plans". So there's no issue. The only person left without a visa is the husband, let him check whatever he's filling on his DS 160, he can also profile his previous visa transcript so we can see his questions and response. In all, he can prepare well and go for the interview again.

You can use the WES online calculator to have an idea. Same as all transcript evaluation to a scale of 4.0

please when applying for admission, will I be asked to fill in specific WASSCE subjects related to my course of interest or I would be asked to fill in all 9 subjects, or will I be using an evaluating body eg WES and if WES, do they pick all subjects (even those not related) to my area of interest.

reason is that I do not have my secondary school grades anymore as I graduated 4 years ago and relocated to another state

Your high school grade is your WAEC or should I say, that's what most schools recognize

The fund can be in the F1 account.
Yes separate DS 160. When you are ready to fill the form you will see spaces to add dependant and the dependant will also answer questions related to F1 on the other end. Same thing for visa. If you are going with someone, you will see a space to add that.

Okay. Let me explain the "can't go with big tummy". The wife can go with big tummy if at the end she actually needs that "medical treatment at any US hospital" as long as she states the reason why she's going and she qualifies, they will not deny. Going with big tummy doesn't mean anything. Even though it's clearly stated that "you can't apply for visa for the sole purpose of birthing" there are still exceptions for women that apply for visa for the sole purpose of birthing.

Transfer of credits (evaluated so they will know the courses the student have done)
