I've lived most of my life as a tenant. I left home very early. I've had many experiences that I can't even begin to narrate now. I detest living in the same compound with my landlord, but where I find myself in such situation, I try to maintain a cordial, friendly relationship with the landlord. I don't care whether you're good or bad. But when you overdo, I show you the other side of me. One time, a landlord had to trace my father to our village just to report me to him because he tried everything humanly possible to ride me but he failed. Over all, I've had good relationship with my successive landlords. Let me just narrate this one. During my undergraduate days, I stayed in this compound with the landlord. The compound was too built up that there was hardly space for ventilation. The landlord had this generator with one very loud funny sound. Whenever he is coming back in the evening he will come with fuel. The gen will be on till the fuel runs out normally around 2 or 3 am. Whenever the gen goes off you'll hear voices from neighboring compounds shouting 'thank God o', it was just so bad. But you can't do anything because he's an indigen. I went home and brought my sweet sounding I pass my neighbor generator, the landlady had the effrontery to tell me that the sound of my own gen is disturbing her. One day I was in my room typing and printing as usual when my light went off, I went outside and discovered it was this woman that offed it. I became mad and charged towards her to beat her. Anger is not good; I totally forgot my home training Thankfully many people were around so they held me back. But I still finished her with mouth. Later on she came and apologized saying she has never seen me in that mood before. People that witnessed my action that day said they saw terro in my eyes and wondered whether it was me because I am a very gentle and friendly person. Thereafter everything went back to normalcy |
cj4humanity:Very very OK within estates. But that temptation to trespass will always be there |
GabriellePeake:People that grow up in suburbs and rural areas have no problem riding bicycle, unlike those in the cities. Many parents don't even consider risks associated with certain actions their children take |
eghuan1:Considering your indept knowledge of this field, may I please ask you this question: If a transaction declined on a POS terminal and the customer submits dispute form at his bank, and subsequently the banks tells him after several weeks that the money has cleared into the POS terminal, how do you rectify such issue? |
Well I won't hastily conclude that this is fraud. But I just want you to know that POS means Point of Sale. Double check the transactions you have made and check the balance in your account to know if there's actually any shortage before you take action. When you get to your bank, ask deep questions. Customer care agents can raise false alarm for Africa |
I spent 2k for a journey of 6h between Nworiubi and Umuaka. No banks, no market, no school, no company opened in that axis. Umuaka was like cemetery |
OkuFaba:Lol. Traditional transporters are the same everywhere |
chiefbuchiV12:you're correct |
xpressionx:lol. It's been six years since I did it |
I was inspired by this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/6761227/why-cant-nigerians-adopt-cycling The objective of this thread is to expose why Nigerians can't adopt cycling. From my experience... During my undergraduate days I spent a lot of money on transportation and a lot time on holdups due to the nature of business I did. To solve that, I bought a bicycle. Bicycle unarguably makes movements inexpensive and fast, but it comes with a lot dangers in unorganized societies like ours. First, there are no bicycle lanes. If you drive on the service lane, transporters will hit you into the gutters. Drivers don't even see you as a road user. When they look at their mirror and see you coming, they don't feel like anything is coming. If you drive on the speed lane, Corolla drivers will run over you. You drive where pedestrians use, then you will have to carry your bicycle on your head. Even pedestrians don't reason you. They see bicycle coming, they keep going. They block you, you say sorry. You hit them, you say sorry. There's absolutely no provision for cyclers on our roads and there are no alternative routes either. With time I developed a lion-like heart. I drive on the speed lane and dull all my senses to car horns and courses from drivers. I cycled as fast as my leg could carry to avoid causing obstruction for long and makes my journey faster. Secondly, there are no parking lots for bicycles. If you're going to market, you'll end up carrying your bicycle on your head because nowhere is safe to park it; you can't even push it inside the market because everywhere is already jam-packed. I remember the day I went to Douglas road with my bicycle . It's a story for another day. Third, comfortable cannot exist in the dictionary of a cycler. Imagine pedalling rapidly for 30 minutes in the morning to work or school? You will never feel comfortable for the rest of the day. Mind you, because of the nature of our roads, you can't pedal softly unless you're on the service lane; but you must have signed your death warrant...You can't move slowly on the speed lane. Fourth, our roads are bad. Bicycle is good on dry land or paved roads. But I don't need to describe the nature of our roads.... I remember the day I fell inside a gutter right in front of our department at the full glare of my coursemates. Heavy rain caused flooding. Coming down from my bike means walking in the flood, so I kept moving slowly until I hit a pothole and fell inside a gutter. The experience is... Summarily, bicycle should be strictly for sports and at designated sports locations unless you don't live in busy cities.

InvestmentMood:Maybe they chop you. Also, tastes varries. |
DuduParaPara:When it gets to roofing stage, don't fail to contact me for quality aluminum work or visit us at sky aluminum, orlu road. Check signature for contact. Considering the deck, you should be looking at 3 months all things being equal |
Meister:Explain |
This water therapy everyone is preaching is not totally correct. The body is like the thermostat of a vehicle. When the body is properly hydrated, you won't feel thirsty. When you're dehydrated, you'll feel thirsty and consequently drink water. In rainy season, the body needs less water and I dry season, it demands for more. My routine is to drink water whenever I'm tasty. In dry season I can take up to 6 satchets a day whereas today I've not even taken one. |
Simsimz:The only Samsung A series I've used is A12. To be honest, the phone is very good and perform beyond expectations. I believe the A52 will meet your need. But let's wait for gurus |
So those that graduated since time immemorial should go and die? |
edoman2016:Just two plots. I can't remember the price, it's been long. It was early 2000 during my secondary school days |
I planted pineapple orchard. The very first fruit was eaten by thieves. The second, the third... Guess what? I never had a taste of a single fruit from my farm. This is farm I traveled hours to purchase the suckers. I just left the farm for grass to overgrow it and wildfire helped me finish up... |
KunlexyInc1:location? |
iamtardey:for bank or POS? |
Picture this scenario: You went to do withdrawal in a POS terminal and it writes DECLINED while you receive a debit alert from your bank. The POS operator advices you to go to your bank and complain. You get to your bank and the customer service checks your statement of account and tells you straight up that you made your withdrawal in POS. what would you do in such situation? Filled with anger and feelings of betrayal, you go back to the POS operator and confront him with everything in you; calling him all manner of names, coursing him and possibly attack him. It's not your fault, the half trained customer service operatives are to blame. When you do transactions with your card, a lot of operations go into play: your bank, the card operator, the security provider of your card, the POS operator, the bank of the POS operator, interswitch etc. All these happen in few seconds. Anything can go wrong and your money will leave your account without getting to the POS terminal. What do you at this stage? Go to your bank and request for DISPUTE FORM. fill it and submit. They will check the status of the transaction and reverse the money to your account. It should be done within 24hours of submitting the form but some bank take longer. You can follow it up till your money is reversed. Stop accusing POS operators of stealing your money because you saw it in your account statement as successful. As far as it was declined by the POS terminal, 99% of time, the money will not get to them. It can still happen to you at ATM if you're a banker reading this, please advise your colleagues to stop giving hasty response to customers' queries; it has lead to breaking of heads and many other damages too. |
CEOwatazs:You want to see my statement of (salary) account? |
ywole:You're right. I actually survive on my skills and not on the salary. |
Emeraldfynest:One of those useless courses. Education History/Int'l studies |
I'm a 2.1 graduate. But what if I tell you that my Salary is 15k? |
