And even if you were close, is it the type of closeness that would warrant you talking about her husband's infidelity with her?

The developed countries all got where they are by building institutions. If you do not build solid institutions, what happens is that one man will turn state apparatus to his personal use. The police, army, judiciary and everything else will be beholden to one man. That has never helped any country to grow.

Anyway, i am done doing back and forth with you. I have lived in developed countries most of my life, so we may obviously see things from different angle..

As for your topic OP, it all depends on fhe believe system of those involved. However, by the rule of fairness, I feel it is bad to cheat in a relationship/marriage and the hurt such creates is the negative effect of such acts.

Should their wives find out they've been cheating, it's still good riddance to bad rubbish.
But fortunately for the men-are-polygamous-crew, majority of Nigerian women (old & young) don't leave their cheating husbands probably because they're thinking of the financial drawbacks, the divorced woman stigma, or the general lack of self-confidence in getting another man who will be willing to marry them as a single divorced mother.

These are factors which most married men don't ever have to worry about, which makes it a little easier and more feasible to say good riddance to bad rubbish when a cheating wife is caught.

The difference between developed societies is that they build institutions so that the country can continue developing, while transitioning from one president to another. Institutions are what develops a country not sit-tight leaders.

Libya was far more developed in the 42years of Gaddafi's reign than Nigeria with all our transitioning from one leader to another.

Everything that Libya has become today is a direct result of the interference of the US and NATO, because they could not stand having a nuclear power in Africa that was not loyal to the west.

We recently are on speaking terms after 5yrs of not seeing each other eyeball to eyeball. He’s trying to make up for his mistakes which I am reciprocating cos of the love of GOD.

He wasn’t that bad while I was growing up . I don’t even know what happened to him . I entered teenage-hood and a monster came out of him . Instead of him to protect me , he abused me .

If he's the same dad here in your story, then it's very possible that he was/is very wrong about your sister.

His negative treatment of her (which you also experienced to some extent), is probably something she is yet to get over and she may just be taking out her emotional hurts on you without even realizing it.
