At launch Destiny could have been considered subpar but by the Taken King expansion it was a different and much better game. I played the hell out of it, racking up 1700+hrs over 2yrs. I as I heard it there are still people playing it even though the sequel is out.

I understand why you might think Destiny  was a successful video game, Afterall Destiny 2 is the second best-selling game of 2017 , and it got largely positive reviews (overhyped reviews to be precise, probably paid reviews). The PC version was also considered a fantastic port, On paper, everything seemed perfect, but then reality hit: something is obviously wrong with the game. But that obviously isn't all. It's surprising how alot of so called "loyal" fans could have quickly turned their backs on the  game that was so popular just few months ago but(check their bungie's online community to see the utter disgust of users towards the game). I think I have an explanation though, the game has been criminally overhyped right from onset, it's good game, but it was overhyped.



You agree with me then that the micro transaction issues did not start with Destiny 1 which was still a commercial success. It had its bugs and issues just like any other game but the development team at the helms at the time were in tune with fans and YouTubers. Daily player numbers still peak and plummet after each DLC? It is still good going by the numbers but not up to Destiny 1.

It is your opinion that the game is overhyped however it is not ‘fact’ is my submission.

Destiny 2 is debatable and some of the criticism was just hoard mentality and I can agree it had high hopes with the improved game play and mechanics but the development team just let it flounder.

You failed to mention Call of Duty after BLOPs and Advanced Wayfare as overhyped duds?

Little did all the press outlets and hands-on impressions know, the code and set of missions available before

launch and during the beta was... the exact same we'd get for $60. Over time it would be revealed that Bungie's higher-ups gutted everything about the game other than its combat mere months before launch, resulting in something that played exquisitely (this was Bungie, after all), but whose depth was entirely surface level.


Microtransactions and DLC story segments followed, as did the news that the game itself cost a ludicrous 500 million dollars to develop. Bungie touted a '10 year plan' for the franchise too, yet that only succeeded in peeing off the vast majority of consumers before Destiny had left the starting gate.


Destiny remains one of the biggest missed opportunities in gaming, and although its player base have an average of 500 hours per person (yes, really), this was 'the next Halo' like the original Kinect was the next step in gameplay interaction.

Based on what I was taught in school and best practices around the world the legislators don't build roads, build hospitals or schools. The are elected to be involved in law making, raising motions, bills and also performing oversight functions. If everyone doesn't expect all these ( constituency projects) from them, there won't be need for the constituency funds they receive. They will only be stuck with their salaries.

But if that should happen in Nigeria and every legislator just makes only laws, raising motions and bills and no projects, no helping people to pay school fees etc. I can bet you they wouldn't be voted for in the next election.

The nature of politics in a country is a reflection of the state of the society. Political systems and politicians are socially-produced; they emerge from social bases, cultural and societal configurations. Thus, they can’t be removed from and understood as separate from society.

The actions of rulers and leaders are, for the most part, responses to the demands and desires of the ruled and the governed. Moral decay and breakdown of the structure of acceptable behavior under which politicians operate can only enter the political arena at the top through social forces and societal pressures from below.

We arguably have much more social fraud than political fraud. Before reaching the stage of using political office to extort and cut deals, before getting to rigging election results, we grew up extorting from our parents, telling blatant lies both when it is convenient and when it is costly to stick to the truth, we grew up gaming the education system through cheating and falsification

So it's impossible to reform politics without changing society. If we look at history, we will understand that revolutions that have brought about fundamental political transformation have been primarily social and politics is usually secondary. They overthrow the social system along with the political establishment.

We have gotten to a point where more than a change in politicians and the political system is needed. Nigeria urgently needs a cultural revolution.
