KunkAcid:Who do you think will win this case if it actually saw the light of day in a competent court? Once an officer conducts an unlawful arrest or illegal search, it becomes open season because the civilian can physically resist and the court will find that officers were not acting in accordance with their duties or complied with due legislation. Let me enlighten your dimwitted response, the officers will find themselves reprimanded or criminal proceeding held against them for conducting an illegal search, false imprisonment and assault. The NYSC chap will be found not guilty of resisting arrest. What offence did he commit? It is a question of law and facts. It is wrong and should not happen to any member of public. |
KunkAcid:Going through anyone’s mobile phone or telephone device by law enforcement without reasonable grounds is illegal. We have had this discussion with the higher cadre in the police and they all agree. Patrolling officers are not forensic or telecommunication experts either. Judging someone based on their looks makes you sound shallow and ignorant. You just talked out your arse. |
Sounds like sleep paralysis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis There could be other factors such as medication which could cause hallucinations, I once took malaria tablets once during a severe bout of malaria and I actually believed the rapture had happened. Was a raving lunatic that night. Infections, sleep deprivation due to anxiety or stress etc. Get some proper sleep, check your diet or see a doctor or therapist. You could also seek spiritual guidance too. In the long run, do your own research and come to your own conclusions. |
9jvirgin:So apt. Judging by the topics on the front page of this once glorious social platform we can now conclude Nigerians get over excited over inane and mundane topics. |
mazinoweb:Killing of witches in England which was considered abhorent and such practices were rightful abandoned centuries ago na him you want take justify this inhumane treatment? People like you believed the world was flat and that twins were evil until science proved otherwise. How do you know this vulnerable girl is a witch? Prove it or forever hold your peace. How you take dey reason? You have judged a human being |
lukfame:I was actually thinking along those lines. Everyone has a part to play in eradicating this nonsense. Religious leaders have actually ingrained this false and wicked practice or doctrine on their followers. The law enforcement agencies and social media sites really have to put in place measures to protect vulnerable people such as this girl. |
lukfame:So true. I have seen patients with UTIs or serious infections become delirious to the extent that they talk about seeing dead people. Why are we so backwards and inhumane? |
£30,000 a year!! That’s quite paltry for a senator or politician in Nigeria. BBC goofed that figure is incorrect. |
Nigerian big boy? Typical nonsense. Whoever wrote this deserves koboko. |
No need working hard all your life and when retirement or the inevitable happens you and your family have got zilch for a pension. So many retired goverment workers in Nigeria who had not had their pensions paid. An additional source of income is not to be laughed at if you are looking at the future. |
I swear Nairaland is over run with juveniles . If you cannot contribute to the poster’s topic then just shut up!! All this first to comment bollocks and typing inane stuff is so backwards and immature. Una no get shame? @ poster - I agree with your sentiments. 9 to 5 no be am. Better to build your own brand or business. |

Apparently they attending a symposium on HIV Awareness. Suspected the arrests were unlawful. This is what happens when you have dolts and halfwits running law enforcement. http://www.chr.up.ac.za/index.php/centre-news-a-events-2017/1867-press-statement-centre-for-human-rights-calls-for-the-unconditional-release-of-the-42-persons-arrested-with-homosexual-charges-by-the-nigerian-government-.html |
Coming from someone with a loved also fighting cancer, it is a horrible disease. It does not respect age, gender, sex, race or how much you have in your account or how fit you are. It is so prevalent now. It is heartbreaking. Wishing the young man all the best. Don't neglect or ignore having a biopsy done. |
She's adorable. |
She's adorable. |
And this is news?! |
Farmerforlife:Totally spot on. The headline is a misnomer. It is a civil wedding and not an Islamic wedding. They did not get married at a Mosque and neither did an Imam solemnize the union between the two men. |
Where is the empathy? Idiots on here talking about kidnappers having their way with her and joking about it? If na una own sister or mama una go dey talk such rubbish?! Don't think because you can hide behind the anonymity of nairaland spewing disgusting crap you cannot be touched!! Hope the sister is found safe and well. |
I happened to report officers who were conducting illegal stop searches and basically going through people's phones without any grounds. Having these idiots rifle through my personal property was annoying as hell. I was thoroughly disappointed. No reference number, no call backs or action taken against those officers. The call handlers need to have a basic understanding on police powers. Rank and file are also to blame for the malaise. They should publicly reprimand erring officers. People also need to record and all such encounters. If you cannot record someone should record and help each other out. Something needs to drastic has to happen. I think civil litigation with also help when everyone starts taking NPF and its officers to court. |
What if he catches a nasty bug or disease from swimming in the heavily polluted and infested waters? |
What is he doing about Ikorodu? |
speezyWears:You took the words out of my mouth. The Commissioner of police and the Governor should bow their heads in shame. They should enforce a curfew from 2200 - 0600 Hours in Ikorodu. Direct officers to conduct intelligence led stop searches, patrol the hotspots, gather intelligence and conduct high profile raids of suspects homes and their hideouts. Engage with the community of Ikorodu and ensure persons caught are dealt with in a judicious and expeditious manner. Those caught partaking or meting out extra judicial killings aka jungle justice should also feel the full brunt of the law. No one should be above the law including those who are duty bound to enforce these laws. People deserve to have their lives and property protected by the state. These are my suggestions for short term measures. |
To all the the idiots applauding a professor using physical assault to punish or correct erring students, has the flogging improved morality amongst students or improved education or reduced crime in Lagos? |

As much as I like Burna, sorry but driving whilst impaired or under the influence of drugs or alcohol is irresponsible and dangerous. Should not be emulated ot applauded. In saner climes you will lose you licence or get arrested for such a stunt. No joke if a family member is scrapped off a road because of one of such driver's actions. |
Sounds dodgy as hell? Who the hell starts drinking at a bar that opens at 6am?! 6am for FFS?!! Sounds very suspicious. |
BBNaija topics...

Federal Road Safety Corps is not an auxilary combative force or paramilitary. This is why Nigerians dey chop slaps and beatings daily for not knowing their rights. "Zombie"mentality. |
