ud4u:The oil spill in the US a few weeks ago is a US national problem too.But a part of the US is directly more hit than the other parts. It is no tribalism my brother. I wish u can see it the way i see it. |
kemisuga:Yes they are both graduates but of difference educational levels. Bsc and HND are not the same just as College of education is also different .There is a big difference right from the cognitive requirement of the crop of students admitted. That is what causes later discrimination. It is justified. The only way to stop the discrimination is that polytechnics should award only OND and ban HND. Only those who have higher cognitive abilities will then be admitted from OND to the Universities. |
I know this may be hard for many of us to take, but our indigenous languages will gradually die off. They just are not suitably adaptable for today's and of course tomorrow's technological and business demands. Right now,the written aspects are dying. As time goes on the spoken aspect will die too. |
I speak and write my native language very well. but na dat one i go take collect money from bank? |
What would you expect from intelligent youngsters whose culture DEMANDS that you are either a millionaire or be dead. |
The Eastern part of the country has never been a safe place. It is about a culture that places too much emphasis on materialism and very little emphasis on scholarship excellence. |
Are you sure that picture isn't from a Nollywood comedy ? Let's watch the streets to see if we observe such in a street. @poster, where did you get the picture from? |
The words seem promising but it is just like the sweet talks we are used to hearing. A way to know any serious talk is to look if there is any date mentioned so that we can check out if they meet their target dates. The only way for us to progress in this country is that we must first learn how to do appraisal on the go. Anybody can make promises. It is only a serious government that can set date targets and make the public do the appraisal. |
Why do the claims of mammy water existence come only from poverty stricken ignorant societies such as sub Sahara Africa. Why? It takes a certain degree of ignorance to believe in such. Ignorance makes you to enjoy believing unverifiable illogical claims. Ignorance makes you to attach spirituality to anything you can't immediately understand. Ignorance makes poverty to thrive. |
Deep Sight:So true ! |
@all, We all advocate for Nigeria's development. But the development must start in the minds of Nigerians. The comments so far on this thread has really strengthened me so much. It is so nice to know that many right thinking Nigerians don't use juju/religion to explain things away. |
KAPTEN:I agree with you on this.People of above average intelligence with a strong desire to render service to humanity are more drawn to fraternities. However, they are only using outdated methods. It may have had its place many centuries ago but in the 21st century,we now use superior methods that makes all fraternities and the occult irrelevant. |
agi-tuedor:I agree with you. But I am not speaking as a member of the general public. It may have had its place many centuries ago but in the 21st century,we now use superior methods that makes all fraternities and the occult irrelevant. |
Loverboy better grab the wine bottle beside the bed and smash it fast.Otherwise RIP. ![]() |
It is outdated because 21st century methods of reasoning makes it impossible for a person of average intelligence not to notice that either mathew's or luke's data is wrong as they traced jesus's lineage to david. How many generations from jesus to david?who's wrong?matthew or luke or both ? it is still relevant because today i still apply the morals i learned from the stories of "how the tortoise back has cracks" that i heard when i was a kid. |
A typical Nigerian does not like reasoning to solve problems. Whenever there is a pressing problem, appealing to the power of superstition/magic it's all the same whether african/european/arabic/asian,etc is what a typical Nigerian does. It is only common sense that if you as a producer/director of a movie wants to sell to the public, you flow with the public. |
agi-tuedor:@poster, they are all the same and use the same tricks. 1They have found lots of loopholes and inconsistencies in the mainstream orthodox religions (christianity, islam, judaism, etc) 2 They are aware that every person with above average intelligence and of course armed with the power of analysis can not be satisfied with the inconsistencies of the mainstream religions 3They claim to offer you a way to undistorted truths but you will have to become a member of their group first. But what you will get is that: Decades after you join the group you are still as blind as you started. |
agi-tuedor:@agi-tuedor, you make me laugh. I hope it won't take you decades before you wake up. I hope you wouldn't have made some irreversible mistakes by then. |
VALIDATOR:Read in between the lines. it is not necessarily politics. |
@poster, do not be deceived with magic/superstition.use you brain and reason logically on better things.THERE IS NO SOUL TRAVELING ANYWHERE. If soul travel were real, 1.don't you think at least one person would have soul-traveled to know and boldly tell us where Yar'adua was when the whole nation didn't know his whereabout? 2. don't you think at least one person would have soul-traveled to know where Osama was/is. 3.don't you think at least one person would have soul-traveled to know the exact location of fortunes that may have been lost in ship wrecks. Stop day dreaming guy.Wake wake, |
@poster, you and your deluded fellows are just wishfully thinking/hoping that you are right. |
@poster, I think your post should be moved to the jokes section. You are just kidding.Right? |
@poster, I really hope you didn't miss your way. |
Nice one. |
lagerwhenindoubt:I agree with you.But i will still like to add some more lines. But I also observe that divination, believe in prophesies, etc are more pronounced in poverty stricken environments. Haiti and Sub Sahara Africa are good examples. In those places the people do not do much documentation and logical reasoning. To learn about the past they resolve to oral transmission from their fore fathers as well as to divination. Both those means lack certainty and embraces a lot of vagueness. To learn about the present they resolve to oral transmission from people who are often not eye witnesses. That means lack certainty and embraces a lot of vagueness. To learn about the future they resolve to divination. That means lack certainty and embraces a lot of vagueness. So I think it is more of fear of certainty than fear of uncertainty. It is easier to hope than to know. When it is vague and you can't figure it out logically, divination will appeal to you. If you fear uncertainty, you will seek a logical solution. If you fear certainty, you will seek divination. |
@Tiger-Generator, Your joke could have been funny but it was so ooooooold that it died many decades ago. |
Nice joke. |
IMO,the supernatural doesn't have anything to do with this. It's about demand and supply. People who are too lazy to think and act properly want to know what the future holds and they get what they deserve, falsehood. |
beyunce:Congratulations, I am so happy for you. Now, here's my word A person who stole once usually because of lack or hunger and stops stealing can as well be forgiven and left to God. Habitual thieves steal because it's a habit again and again and again , till they get caught by you or by someone else. You can set up a logical process for catching whosoever the thief is with evidence. By so doing you will not focus on any particular person and hence be guilty of bias. Just to clear up your curiosity, after the theive is caught, you can now try out that bible turning stuff to see how fake it is. I wish you all the best. |
I'm also wandering if the man TBJ saw anything about Iceland's volcanic ash that grounded many flights leaving thousands of passengers stranded. Nonsense. |
