izzou:but why kill the economy for a lockdown that is not being enforced? aren't you reading the news of people out and about in various streets? Just case the highways look empty, it doesn't mean people aren't outside. I was shocked when I came out one evening and saw an insane amount of people outside in my area jogging, strolling, gisting outside. Even when receiving palliatives, the masses form crowds. Did you see the recent crowd of people in Lekki waiting for food? Even thieves are still crowding, did you see the video in Kano of crowds stealing rice from food delivery trucks? So on one hand you kill our economy, on the other hand, you implement a lockdown that is a sham. It's a lose lose situation. |
Where does Lekki toll money go to ![]() Say 40 cars pass every minute, that's N8,000 per minute per hour, that's N480,000 say 20 hours a day, that's about 10 million per day. multiply by 30 days, that's about N300,000,000 per month. |
How do we cushion the effects? Will it keep rising? Please economists in the house, explain.

funnyboss:lol, wtf! |
TooMuchStuff:Not just in Aso Rock, but everywhere. Look at Delta for instance, with all the money they get, the place still looks like a village. I heard those South South governor will just open drawer in their office and bring out bundles of hard currency. Don't know if it's true, but it's what I heard. What we know for a fact is the rate of development in the south south is far below the potential in development that could be attained with their huge allocation. Most of these politicians are crooks. What about Senators that still went ahead to buy 2020 camry for themselves amid a pandemic? What about those legislators in the North we read about here that bought new Hilux for themselves. What is their work that each member gets a brand new foreign car? All of them need to go, but who to replace them is the problem. Solution if for the masses to keep revolting. If we don't like a decision they take, being that it has the potential to ruin the country, like buying cars for Senators, then we need to come out in mass to tell them no, cause it's us they are representing, not themselves. We put them there and if we say don't buy car, they either listen or resign. Same goes for all of them. |
Neoteny7:I never knew sex was the gateway to knowledge. |
funnyboss:Men I must say, although this is a sad thread, your comment did put a smile on my face. |
AlfaSeltzer:Abeg abeg, shift with your tribalism. Even if you want Biafra, you’d should still see reasons to support Sowore. |
Neoteny7:Must they always give you one wrap of Eba or Amala before they can get through to you? |
festacman:Clout chasing ba? Do you even have leaders in Nigeria that can spell “Clout”? Yet you support them for reasons that defy logic. |
Suffering and Smiling Nigerians Lovers of MMM SLaves to their corrupt masters Citizens of poverty capital Introducing to you, the citizens of the most populous black nation. |
limeta:As in... Revolution, they say they are not ready Ok, bang pot, they are still not ready. Just to insult the man is all they know. Men Nigerian citizens are a special breed of suffering and smiling. |
Men the heart of man is truly wicked sha. Why beat these guys up? I am a Christian, but not in a million years will I even dream of beating up someone cause he is gay. Why are you all casting stones on them, letting out their blood? When they brought the Adulteress to Jesus, did he pick up a stone to stone her? So you are a follower of Jesus, yet you pick up stones to hurl at a gay person that never hurt you. Men this just so barbaric and sad. Which Jesus do you people follow? |
fkj950ax:What? It’s like you’ve never heard of infrared, heat and night vision before. |
Lagos would be on look down for 5 weeks this coming Monday. Are you saying they want to make it 7 weeks ![]() |
When I told people on here to be weary of all these Chinese loans, they called me names, sigh. There is nothing worse than taking loan for infrastructure that is not profitable. Look at Lagos and it’s huge world bank loan for railway that Fashola said will be ready by 2013. 7 years later, no rail, loan spent, no money generated from the rail. At least in China’s case they build the infrastructure, but you still need to make it profitable and does Nigerian government know how to make things profitable? Won’t it be same CCECC trains that people will be riding on top of, thereby riding for free? How do you make money of a person hanging on top a train? Yet police will see and pass. It’s a long tin abeg |
mrphysics:Why do you believe that lithium batteries can’t be mass produced? There are even other battery chemistries better than lithium, like salt water batteries, that are recyclable. You can’t just dismiss the growth of technology when you have thousands of researchers working round the clock to come up with new things. Even in your own life, I’m sure you’ve seen tech improvements in your phones, the way you consume music and so on. Truth is, even with the rains, Africa still has the perfect weather for Solar power and if other countries with lower sun hours in Europe can generate upwards of 10,000mw of electricity through solar, then who are we to say it’s not feasible with our weather? |
sapele914:SOWORE |
SouthNigerian:Lol, abeg, let’s give them a chance to be wise before then |
But na wa for Nigerians ooo Ordinary picture and they are already willing to bow down to someone. Isn’t that how Buhari was sharing picture when he first started and they were hailing his “body language”. Do you know what the picture is about? Do you know what he is reading? Do you know his thoughts on what he is reading? That’s how it was so easy to deceive most Nigerians with MMM, they were even coming online to defend MMM with their blood. My point is, it should take more than a picture to move you guys. Has this guy done more for Nigeria than Sowore for instance? Sowore that has fought for Nigeria, gone to jail for Nigerians... Abeg don’t be swayed by just pictures please, this country needs people that seriously love it and are proficient to move forward, not just by releasing pics |
mrphysics:When you say need a lot of batteries, hope you’re not referring to regular lead acid batteries? Technology is improving and the likes of Tesla now have utility scale batteries that have already been deployed. Below is a pic of a 100MW Tesla utility battery. Combined with solar, that can power soo many homes. Imagine if every state had one to start, that’s already 3,600MW of clean energy.
|
Fidelismaria:I do agree with you, except for this Nuclear power, cause truly, we are not ready yet!!! However, we are soo ready for all the things you listed above and then add compulsory education for all, then we will be ready for nuclear power. |
Sometimes I feel like it’s only insane people that are left in this Nigeria, cause I don’t understand how a people can suffer this much and still vote for more suffering. See dem already calling the likes of Tinubu and other expired corrupt elements for 2023, my goodness. If your plan is to further impoverish Nigeria with your vote, then may almighty God scatter your plans. This country deserves to be ruled by the righteous for a change and I pray to God it happens and not just at the presidency level, but at every level of governance. |
Charmingrascal:lol, soo please tell me, all your recycled politicians that ruled over you and your father, what did they achieve? You guys are so proud of a failed country ehn, I don't get it. |
How Nigerians have made a pact with suffering ehn, chai You will come and shout that Legislators are buying cars with your money, 1 million boys are terrorizing without police intervention, no light, your currency is sliding, no database for your citizens, no welfare... Yet and Yet, you will still crawl on your knees and vote the same people in 2023, because the good guys "can't win election" Suffering and Smiling youths Rest in peace Fela |
Suffering and smiling youths |
Shebi I've been telling everyone since that Nigerians love to suffer and smile. See dem, after all the hunger and bashing, they will still crawl on their knees in 2023 to vote for a useless known political thief from whatever tribe.\ Suffering and Smiling Youths. |
Prime example is the Aso rock clinic that keeps on receiving billions of naira every year. Could it be that someone, somewhere, or a group of people, just pocket all that money? What about feeding budgets for Aso Rock and kitchen Utensils also running into billions, does that just go right into someones pocket? The thought of someone just pocketing billions without doing anywork whatsoever, just sends chills down my spine. Lets not forget about Legislators, Governors and their budget items. How do we stop this? |
Their reward for killing and maiming Nigerians during this lockdown. Only in Nigeria, have police/military killed more people than Covid-19 well done boys, more bags of rice to you, mtcheew ![]() |
If this is true, then what is the point of the lockdown? |
SciLab:why does this comment have so many likes? can't you differentiate between mcdonalds the brand and a chinese franchise? so mcdonalds in chicago that employs countless blacks should also be boycotted and those blacks lose their jobs? |
