Does it mean that this country has no future? |
Yet oil comes from delta and other south Easter states. I still hope we can correct the British mistake of arbitrarily drawing maps for black people |
Yet nairalanders biggest problem today, is that a Yoruba governor employed an Igbo girl. That thread is 14 pages long now and counting... Negros being Negros If those ones had the chance, won’t they sell the other tribes into slavery? Just as blacks captured and sold other blacks in the past. So OP, I feel you’re pain. |
So many potential rapists on this thread. |
Neddstark:Wtf is wrong with this dude? So it’s okay if he rapes a girl that is fine by your standards? The fact that you can even play around the rape subject, makes you a fvking disgusting rapist pig that should be hunted down |
OYEDIPE:Of course I’m yet to make a point to you. Aren’t you a Nigerian after all? Open gutter to you is normal, since you are a Nigerian ba? |
COMPAQ:and I’ve been in UK seeing a guy in a Ferrari throw his mcdonals on the street. Difference it, in Nigeri, most of that trash would end up in open gutters, while in the UK, it can easily be picked up |
oyatz:It definitely is a game of numbers, but what happened when those numbers are being myopic? Guess it is what it is. The citizens turn everything, including parties into a primitive tribal battle; cutting their noses to make their faces angry. What is the point of having just one party at the helm of affairs for decades? No accountability, nothing. Just as long as the major tribe sees it as victory over another, they put performance to the side. I’ve already told all those who think I’m being tribal that the same should go for all states. Just think about the lack of accountability with the lekki toll gate roads. You pay N200 per pass to drive on a road, yet road maintenance is lacking, lanes have all faded away, street lights can’t even be kept lit. I’m sure one week of revenue from that toll gate is enough to fix all these things. Yet all these things are present on third mainland bridge, a toll free road. |
Whats the point of clearing out open gutters when those gutters will be filled up again in no time because, guess what? THEY ARE OPEN GUTTERS. What’s the point of telling citizens not to throw stuff in the gutters? Name one country where their citizens don’t litter, just one. The difference is, these countries don’t have open gutters, so road sweepers can simply sweep away garbage. However in Nigeria, with an OPEN GUTTER on every street, like a badge of honor, you expect trash not to enter open gutters? Then you start begging citizens not to litter, as if you can attain a society with 100% compliance? I’m tired of all these African politicians abeg, simple open gutter, you can’t cover or burry underneath a sidewalk? Mtcheew |
danietohbadt:It’s like you’re not getting my point. Let price of oil rise to $70 and you’ll hear APC saying that they can’t maintain the pump price at N145, that it needs to be increased. |
Cyberterror:Lol, was it his friends that said no to this same subsidy removal? |
First assignment, review the police and armed forces. New examinations would need to be taken, including human rights exams. I will sometimes be present on the graduation day of new police/army members. Law and order is one of the foundations of a great country. |
I hear people say that during GEJs era, oil prices were high with nothing to show for it. While I’m not excusing whatever corruption may have occurred during that time, I must point out that even with the high price of oil, petrol was still sold below N100. Imagine the amount of subsidy that was required to accomplish that. Nigerians it seems, made their choice for cheap fuel, over development. |
Remember this? |
So you are telling me, a whole Nigerian police station does not have CCTV?? Naija how far na? |
RapistOnBail:Okay dude, let’s end this back and forth. Last thing I will say is, I understand your position, but for that labour to really be impactful, it will need to be accompanied by basic level education. Take an assembly line staff for instance, wouldn’t it be easier to train that staff if he/she had a secondary school education, vs, if he/she never even attended primary school and can barely communicate, add, or even think a bit outside the box? Anyways, my hope is that primary education becomes mandatory for every child in Nigeria. This would mean arresting all children found begging and selling on the streets and sending them to school. |
We need to sanitize the transport sector in lagos, most especially those danfo buses. However, we can’t leave the masses struggling in long lines to access BRTs, hence more BRT buses would be needed as we do away with danfo buses. It’s a shame that the Lagos rail line that was meant to be ready in June 2013, according to Fashola, is not completed even now in 2020. That would have taking a lot of pressure off BRT busses. |
RapistOnBail:Lol, Mr. Uneducated, how are illiterate people meant to add significantly to the economy of a country? Even college drop out, Bill Gates, was educated. |
thesicilian:This is also a problem |
joshuaidibia:What about the hate here at home? You can’t even make a reasonable comment on this site most times without someone calling you IPOB, afonga and so on. |
Yet people will say Nigeria’s strength is its population. How can your strength be an undereducated population? |
Lamiri:Yet your country police at a time, had killed more people than Covid 19 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-52317196 So there were no Nigerians present at all the killings ba? |
big7:Just imagine that dude. Even BBC carried the report of Nigerian police killing more civilians than Covid 19: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-52317196 What other country in the world were more citizens murdered by their police force than were killed by Covid 19? The guy should name just one country |
This country is just full of hypocrites I’m telling you. Your own country police are killing more black people than any police in the world, but no protest. Yet you have the guys to castigate a country where it’s citizens poor out to support the loss of one soul. Hypocrites everywhere |
See all of them quoting me with stupid tribal talks. Maybe this country really has no hope after all with such citizens A shame really! |
zeenaman:You too must be a terrible human being. Where were you when Nigerian police killed more civilians than Covid 19 over stay at home order? Not even one protest from Nigerians and you are here talking trash Bloody hypocrites |
Afamed:Well maybe because I was born in Lagos, or maybe it’s because I live in Lagos. I really don’t understand where you’re coming from with your questions. Please if you have nothing constructive to say, then don’t say anything. |
seunmsg:Then same for Enugu then. I’m not here to play any sort of tribal games, just looking for how we can strengthen our democracy and in turn our development as a people. As I said, Nigerians will hail when they hear some igbo or Yoruba guy has been appointed mayor in some city in America, but same people won’t even let another party win elections in their state, talk less of another tribe or race. I just think we are all very hypocritical sha. |
Afamed:Why is a question about progress silly? |
Just thinking of how ACN/APC has been in charge of Lagos for decades now, with no opposition party getting the chance to scrutinize their affairs, or prosecute corrupt members of the party and government. Is this how Lagosians really like it to continue? Is there any point in conducting elections in Lagos state? APC seems to have convinced lagosians that it is a Yoruba party and an other political party is of another tribe. We are not even talking about another tribe ruling, which if we were a true democracy, would not even be a problem. On this subject though, isn’t it funny how Nigerians hail themselves, when other countries give them a chance to govern at any level? But here in Nigeria, it must be the local tribe that governs, talk about hypocrisy. Back on to the topic, things like the Lagos light rail (supposed to be ready in 2013), lekki toll scam and many other questionable projects just go on unchallenged in Lagos. I was seriously supporting that gbadamosi Babatunde guy, but even yorubas rejected him cause he is not APC. Anywho, just my thoughts. FYI, this also should apply to other states in Nigeria that are becoming one party states. Not good for our democracy at all. As for Delta state, all past governors should be arrested. They have milked my second state dry. |
I feel so sad for Delta and other oil producing states for producing piss-poor leaders, in fact the whole country, but it’s so much worse for those states. What are they doing with all their money? Delta state still looking like a village, sigh |
