Calibrator:Generic plot? I haven't watched it, but according to people that have watched Dune and also read the books, the plot, though rushed, is very faithful to its source materials, and coming from someone who is currently reading the books, I can confidently tell you that Dune's plot(s) is not generic, if anything it's peculiar. |
pu7pl3:There are two Dune comic series currently being published. • Dune The Graphic Novel Book 1: It covers the original (first) Dune novel. According to people who've read it, it's a scene by scene adaptation; although the dialogue is shortened, it doesn't leave out any events from the book. If you're more into visual storytelling, this may be a good way to get into the story. Just keep in mind that the second and third parts of the books are not due for awhile. • Dune: House Atreides: a prequel to Dune. Took place 35 years before the events of the first Dune novel. |
pu7pl3:The greatest mistake people make is watching Dune without knowing the full context. That's way it's imperative to read the books first to get the sense of what it's about. The world of Dune is very complex I tell you, there's a lot going on. I'm in book 4, and probably won't finish the whole series till January/February 2022. For the meantime, I've backburnered Dune (2021) indefinitely. |
IbrahimMav:The resolution looks good. Not surprised though, RMTeam and PSArips are two of the best HEVC encoders in the video compression business. |
Compensated again today.

I got credited.

Karleb:You can't go from queer to hetero, because life doesn't move in reverse, Chief. Anyways, queer characters haven't existed in media since the dawn, thus we are currently living in a phase where they're rapidly trying to catch up. It's gonna level out at some point, but for now, queers are trending. My advice is to learn to live with it cuz it's only gonna get worse lol. ![]() |
pu7pl3:I mean with all of the different universe, it would totally make sense that at least a version of the established characters would be queer, yes? Not entirely sure why y'all are up in arms about this. |
Flamemignon1:Well said. |
pu7pl3:You feel this way because you're thinking it from anti-LGBT perspective. DC is thinking it as a cautious corporation that believes making one of its most iconic characters bisexual will be less controversial than making them gay, cuz technically, Jon will still date girls, even if he like guys too. |
abduleez1:Aha, a kindred spirit. ![]() |

Can't say I didn't see it coming. With Tim Drake being bi, it seemed like that's where they were headed. |
Carot:I rate movies by opinion. When you rate movies with a numerical score, you prevent yourself from enjoying the movie emotionally, you'd try to figure out its "value", fixate on plots holes, thereby making the plot holes become more important than they have a right to be. |
pu7pl3:I know, I know. ![]() |
oyaskii:Yep, Melissa killed it. If it wasn't for her comedic output, the film wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable. |
The Heat (2013) A decent, if unoriginal film about an uptight FBI agent (played by Sandra Bullock) and a belligerent Boston detective (played by Melissa McCarthy) teaming up to take down a drug lord. Carried by comedic timing, the film's pairing of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy is surprisingly fitting. The two did well together, and made the viewing entertaining. I will refrain from using any sort of rating system, as I find such systems to be archaic and pointless, but I'll say this, it's an enjoyable watch. |
AnfieldFan:Thank you. |
MJBOLT:Samsung Internet browser. |
kendrick93:It's not an assumption. America is a racial and ethnic melting pot in the sense that people of diverse race, ethnicity, culture and religion co-exist and function as a nation, but divided and influenced by social and economical factors. Weird racial conspiracy? Lmao. Dude, are you for real? You must be one of them deluded pro Americanist who think America is a land of the free, where societal factors like education, employment, health care, wealth and income are evenly distributed. No, things like systemic racism, income inequality, racial profiling, health disparity, race prejudice are a myth... no, these social factors don't influence the way Americans live their lives at all. ![]() And yes, I have zero motivation to continue an argument that will go nowhere. I was particularly clear on that yesterday morning.
|
kendrick93:You gotta be special kind of obtuse, no offence, if you don't know that America is very multi-racial/multi-ethnic. There are The Latinos, the Puerto Ricans, The Afro Caribbeans, The Hispanics, The Chicanos, the African-Americans, Italian Americans, Irish Americans, etc. These groups/communities exert social influences to some extent, part of these social influences extend to the Oscars, seeing as Oscars is based in America, organised by Americans, organised in America, held in America, hosted by Americans, and most of all, Hollywood centric. I'll no longer talk about this again, it's not worth the headache. |
kendrick93:I never said he was. I said, within the African-american community back in the day, Forest Whitaker's name had more bite than Will Smith's. |
Dotng:Early to mid November. |
pu7pl3:I graciously decline seeing as you live for it. |
kendrick93:Will Smith popularity has surpassed him, but once upon a time in Hollywood, Forest's name had more clout than Will Smith's.
|
Raalsalghul:It's becoming frustrating. He knows he's wrong but instead of admitting he goofed, he'd rather dig himself deeper into a hole he has zero chance of getting out of. |
DandeNumeruno:Bro, just quit while you're behind, you don't want this to get ugly. |
DandeNumeruno:Your math didn't correspond to your earlier assertions but ironically, it was relatively correct. To become a leading man, you'd have to be very bankable, which automatically puts you in the A list, but being an A lister doesn't guarantee you a leading man role in movies. If you want, I can give you examples of A list actors that mostly support rather than lead films. |
DandeNumeruno:Something is wrong with your math. According to your comments, it should be... A lister = A leading man A leading man ≠ A lister. Correct me if I'm wrong. |
DandeNumeruno:Okay. |
DandeNumeruno:You were doing great until you ruined everything with the bolded.
|
pu7pl3:I hereby nominate you to argue on my behalf, minion. |
