Christianity Etc › Re: The Reasons People Convert From Christianity To Islam by vickyO(f): 10:16pm On Aug 04, 2013
mahdino: Pls check John 16:12-14 the word HE spirit of truth will come HE will guide u into all truth, for HE will not speak of his authority, but whatever HE hears HE will speak, and HE shall tell u things to come. This taking about Mohammad u have to reason.
Jesus is talking about something that is not around during his time so we can't say holy ghost cos holy ghost has been around during and before him. U can only foretell what has not come yet. Is there any new truth the holy ghost has told anyone? What he hears he speak, read the qoran and u will see that is what prophet Mohammad(saw) hears he speak on the authority of God. He glorify Jesus and made us muslims to believe in Jesus.
who told you Holy Ghost had been dwelling in the hearts of believers before then? God ministered directly to the Prophets and all there was then was Conscience, read the book of Acts 2 and you'll be clear on the fact that the comforter promised is the Holy Ghost, if it was mohammed, we'll have seen it in the Bible....... dont try to explain the Bible if you've got no knowledge of Christianiy.

hmmmmm.... about the evangelism, we (Christians) are to be radically engaged in soul winning but it is not by putting on some apron and preaching God of one place or the other. it is only through prayers any act of evangelism (and other matters scripturally linked) can be successfully achieved. and when you go out to preach, preach the word of God not the miracles of a pastor but the word so that the unbelieving converts will have the right foundation in Christ.
and if many fingers are pointing at something, that thing needs to be re examined

well, i understand that it is pretty hard for one take in the fact that what he or she believes is right is being declared wrong by another. Making images whatsoever for the sake of worship is absolutely wrong, christians are to worship in spirit and in truth (The Scriptures says so), not by using some images as mediums to reach out to God (which is nothing but a carnal and perverted way of worship). if we worship or bow to images, what then distinguishes Christianity from other religion? Bowing to images is a sin and will remain one whether y'all like it or not.

TheShopKeeper: Please study your bible again, it will help you have a better understanding.
i understand it my brother and i have have come to a conclusion that we are to pay our tithes an offerings. when you give with the heart of gratitude to God the blessings in Luke 6:36 shall be yours.
If you pay it, it will not kill you, and it will not make you go to hell instead blessings and financial prosperity will come your way
. Dont bother yourself with what the church will do with the money because they will give account to God on the last day.

@ ITALO An annoited person is one who uses his power in Christ to perform signs and wonders, preach the solid gospel with the backing of the Holy Spirit, who can bring to nought the authorities of principalities and powers in heavenly places and many others. this is how i know my Pastor is annoited.
Your turn- how did you know Mary and the Saints are ALIVE in heaven?
Christianity Etc › Re: Tithing Ended And Abolished In The N.T - An Exposition On Hebrews Chapter 7. by vickyO(f): 6:45pm On Dec 06, 2012
That Christ never condemned tithe and offerings.....that was stilling according to the law. We have argued that so much that I cannot over emphasis on it. The is the reason the Apostles didn't give strict teaching on tithe - because it wasn't the Apostles that were tithing what you said Christ didn't condemn, it was the scribes and pharisees; not the disciples.
i dont get this part.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Protestants Use The Rosary? by vickyO(f): 4:12pm On Dec 06, 2012
nothing wey person no go hear.
Mary na mother of GOd, Peter na first pope, the fist church was Roman Catholic, bla bla bla.
Mary is not the mother of God, in the begining was the word...and the word was God.Mary was not there at the begining, God made her.
Where is it stated in the Bible that Peter was the Pope? tell me, i want to know.
The early church's doctrines are the total opposite of the Roman Catholic doctrines.Read your Bibles.
If a protestant prays with the rosary, (that's his own cup of tea) it shows that he doesnt know what he stands for because rosary as a medium of prayer is not backed by Protestant doctrines.

Christianity Etc › Re: Tithing Ended And Abolished In The N.T - An Exposition On Hebrews Chapter 7. by vickyO(f): 2:44pm On Dec 06, 2012
Jesus Christ never condemned tithes and offerings.... Tithe and offerings are essential, in 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Every first day of the week when Christians came together, offerings are made based on one's earnings for the week... The story of Ananias and Sapphira also gives one an insight about offering in the new testament. though the Apostles didnt give strict instructions concerning tithe but they supported the act of giving a wholesome amount of money as offering to support the Churh and other religious activities.
i believe one should give tithes and offerings diligently not just for doing sake and not just because it helps the material growth of the Church (branches, support of missionaries, salaries to pastors, helping of the needy and so on), but because God loves a cheerful giver and Jesus approves the act of tithing.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Catholics Pray With The Rosary, And Bow To Mary's Statue? by vickyO(f): 10:52am On Dec 06, 2012
oh goodness..... didnt men go to Paul, ELijah and other men of God in the Bible for prayers/miracles? they went to them because they were convinced they were annoited. we ask pastors to pray for us because we are convinced that they are annoited by God too. the points below clearly dissaproves of your relationship with Mary.
1) You pray to the dead (mary is dead) and necromancy is forbidden in the Bible.
2) You pray to her to save you and do things that partains to salvation for you.
3) You make an image of her and bow to it in worship.

all of the above are alien to Christianity
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Catholics Pray With The Rosary, And Bow To Mary's Statue? by vickyO(f): 6:21pm On Dec 01, 2012
Ubenedictus: just 3 biblical principles 1 becos "eternal salvation" is a gift of God, 2God grants gift to those who ask for them, 3 intercessory prayer is one of d ways of praying.
Becoming an intercessor doesnt mean u are now d mediator of d covenant.
ACCORDING TO DICTIONARY.COM to mediate means - to bring about (an agreement, accord, truce, peace, etc.) as an intermediary between parties by compromise, reconciliation, removal of misunderstanding.
to intercede - to attempt to reconcile differences between two people or groups; mediate.

they mean the same thing... if you want to raise the issue of christians meeting Pastors to pray for them then let me explain something to y;all. they donot pray to their pastors, they ask their Pastors to pray for them.... and dont forget something Jesus is the mediator between God and man, Pastors are men while Mary is dead and is now a spirit.... Jesus is not the mediator between a spirit and God.
Any image created or use to worship GOD is idol worshiper just like babalawo use statues to worship the devil, orisa, osun, etc.

Every religion has image of GOD, JESUS, PAUL, BUDHA, DEVIL, MARY, etc. The only religion that doesn't have it if ISLAM.

In Islam, u dont see image of GOD, MUHAMMAD, ISA, etdc.

In christianity, because they believe that Jesus is GOD then automatically Mary is GOD's mother and MARY should deserve more praises than GOD.

Muslims use the rosary to count NOT use it to worship GOD. Another name for it is 'counter.'

Can I ask a question. In exams, if they ask who is JESUS's Father, what should the answer be?
are you a christian?

Praying to Mary relates to necromancy, right? And the Bible strongly condemns necromancy. Why not let the truth set you free?
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Catholics Pray With The Rosary, And Bow To Mary's Statue? by vickyO(f): 11:26am On Nov 14, 2012
As Christians the Bible is our standard and it strongly condemns necromancy (praying to or inquiring from the dead). Does praying to Mary not relate to necromancy? Let the truth set you free catholics, they are boldly written in the Scriptures.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Catholics Pray With The Rosary, And Bow To Mary's Statue? by vickyO(f): 11:19am On Nov 14, 2012
As christians the bible is our standard. Why not follow Biblical doctrines and let go of man imposed ones. Praying to Mary relates to necromancy (praying to or inquiring from the dead) which the Bible condemns strongly. We all know the truth why dont you let it set you free by acknowledging.

The Bible in the book of Ezekiel 16:6-14 talks about how God adorned an entity with earrings, tiara, nosering, quality clothes, e.t.c.
After the whole process, He said what was done was PERFECT. So this issue of jewelleries is not a sin against God. what makes it a sin is if it is not used moderately and modestly.

David, Solomon and co were not prophets, they were just Bible characters so they should not be used as examples. Most of the prophets in the Bible were not married and were never involved in the act of womanizing. Fingers should not be pointed at the Bible cos no prophet was a womanizer.

Jesus was opposed to adultery(Matt. 5:27-28). David was punished: he did not build the temple, God rebuked Abraham for his actions(moreover, there were no laws then),Solomon also. We Christians are now save by the grace of God not by the laws of Moses. we no longer follow most of the laws of Moses. Jesus was opposed to adultery(Matt. 5:27-28).
