I think you got the answer there. The average Nigerian man wants to marry a submissive, obedient wife. And you normally get that from not so flashy girls.


If you look at the thread you find out that most of these modern girls are brash, rude, disrespectful and no man will tolerate that

Also many guys have high eyes so they keep on going to women they feel are high class, but they can't maintain there high lifestyle.


So guys should remove all those high standards, they will see simple women who will give them peace. They can package their wife to their standards they want

But you won't know until u come close to them. It's not all about the looks , it's about the character. Not all supposedly looking high class women are living highlife.
Some are looking high class due to their kind of buisnesses they operate, all to draw customers but as soon as they enter the four walls of their homes or comfort zone. They are meek, humble and natural. Not all but some are like that.

My dear, that's a very good question.
I asked myself same question and the answer I got is this :
Men who are trained well, prefer ladies who do not look flashy . In their mind, they feel flashy or very pretty ladies are either promiscuous or badly trained. These men size up women from afar, based on the lady's look and that's where they miss it.
They feel a dull looking, plain or average is the ideal wife material. But most times, it doesn't work that way. That's another reason u see good men married to troublesome wives
When the dotted lines are signed, that plain meek Jane u feel is a perfect wife material becomes a thorn in their flesh. So u cant judge a book by its cover. Not all pretty ladies are evil, not all plain Jane are perfect.

While the untrained guys, spoilt, egoistical guys love to show off, so they go after pretty and flashy ladies pretending at first to be the ideal man but after a week or so, they can't keep up such fake good guy attitude anymore. They now show their real character, take it or leave it they don't care. There are so many fishes to catch anyways, so their mind tells them.

But I thank God am wiser now. This life ehn? One will be seeking for love and companionship but God will say that's not where I want your focus to be. At 22yrs , I was still a virgin and wanted to marry immediately settle down and have kids after my youth service but heartbreaks No let me rest.
To survive ,I had to focus all my energies and mind on buisness later on. At least at all at all naim bad pass.

I made my first million naira at the age of 26years old, since then I delved into my career and Making money came so easy for me. A time people thought I was into money rituals but I wasnt. Even at that the monies didn't freak me but that's what God wanted me to have first, as love almost killed me.

But who am I to complain? Life has taught me to accept there is a higher being ordering our steps and handling what comes our way. There are things we have no control over. That's what I know about life.

Bbn's Miracle and Nina? Oh right. Now I get your point miss. Well, another extra reason why I'm thankful for those around me. Young optimistic people getting married, planning to grow old together. I agree it's not all bliss, however, our circle had identified this from the onset and that has led to long-lasting quality relationships per individual. I also think, we as people need to look and listen beyond crowd and noise of naysayers. There can't be so much weddings every Saturday if relationships and marriages are majorly negative. If it looks like everyone around you isn't having healthy relationships, please change your circle of friends for a bit.

Am not talking of my recent circle of friends.
Am talking of few years down the lane kind of relationships I had. Its not easy forgetting bad experiences.

Now I don't take nonsense o.. Lol
If I smell any body coming to me with negative attitudes, I quickly cut off. I don't waste time at all. My circle of recent friends are happy in their relationships. For me, am OK and docile in my relationship . Past experiences has made me calm, cuz Av seen it all. I simply go with a positive flow. All those butterflies and excitements like a teenager is gone. I will say am more in control of myself and emotions. And my companion is an easy going positive guy. He's the one that has the butterflies lol. His enthusiasm makes me smile and laugh sometimes.

My own butterflies don dry up since, years back. All I have is years of experience to keep a good man around me. I am fine with my relationship, as of today.
Only God knows wat tomorrow holds.

Sadly, this is the truth. No one wants to suffer in silence while a man torments them in the house. Who wants to be a slave for a man these days. Life is to be enjoyed. No one has the right ro make life unbearable for someone.

Forgetting a woman who has trained herself to be an ideal, homely and supportive wife also needs an ideal, well brought man too for a husband . As men are scared of marrying the wrong woman, so women who knows their worth are scared of marrying just any man, for marriage sakes.
No sensible normal human being wants to be in caged unhappy relationship.

From what I've read from ladies here today ehn, I may remain single for a long time.

I use to have bp issues ,way back cause its hereditary in my own case. So I am very very careful on whom I choose to spend the rest of my life with . My state of mind is very fragile in emotional issues. Have suffered heart attacks 4 good times , almost lifeless in my apartment cos of relationship and heartbreaks. Am alive and well today is all because of God. It even amazes me ,I'm still alive. But God knows why He still keeps me whole til date.

So i have come to realise my brain cannot go through emotional suffering and If I hope to live long, I should cut off from toxic people or toxic husband or boyfriend, if need be. And if Divorce will give me the peace my spirit and soul desires? Cause my husband is stressing me up with his irresponsible behavior ? Then so be it.

Cause if I die tomorrow, my man will be with another woman before a week runs out.

So Biko, my peace of mind first before anything or anyone. That's the truth about me.

This isn't an excuse to be a full time housewife.
Get a nanny or daycare or tell your parents to look after the kids till they turn four each. If you can't then stop giving excuses like you're taking care of kids that's why you can't work.


I can remember a married woman once told me she can't work because she's taking care of kids, I told her to get a nanny and she replied me thus ;so that men like me and her husband will sneak into the Nanny's room and fvck her? imagine.

Bottom line is get something doing before thinking about marriage.

Such women are just lazy.

I have a cousin, she's married to a married man whose wife lives in another state. While she lives in Lagos. She has a boutique. She gave birth to three kids for her husband. She also has a nanny. She goes to work every blessed day, drop the first two kids in school, while the last kid, she and her nanny with the kid heads to her shop after completing early morning chores at home.
Immediately after school, her nanny takes keke to go pick her two kids and everyone heads back to her shop. Nanny feeds them with lunch, while she attends to her customers.

From 6pm, she's done with sales for that day with her nanny. Everyone enters her car and back home.. If she needs to branch market? She either sends the nanny or she goes herself , but at least one adult must be at home with the kids.
Sometimes her younger sisters and brothers come around to play with the kids.

In fact, she's so industrious Without the husband around. And their wedding pics are displayed everywhere in the sitting room.

That's a woman who is not ready to wait for husband to come drop money before she can eat or do anything. The day I came over, she was about to drop two lovely stoned lace with some fabrics for her tailor on the same street, where she lives.
She's very comfortable and independent. No wasting time.

In fact she inspires me
