PoliticsRe: Revolution Is The Only Solution To Nigeria's Democrazy by vigasimple(m): 11:09am On Jul 13, 2009
I think only a fool will say that for Nigeria to be better we would not need a revolution of some sort.

A dose of JJ RAWLINGS will be required as that is what is making Ghana honest today (to the extent to where they are).

Now, in practical terms we have had a similar thing before, anyone remember Kaduna Nzeogwu, the principles were right, execution poor and went tribalistic.

My take, we can find at least a dozen rogue leader in each 6 geo political zone, round them up without tribal nonsense. try them and make sure at least 6 in each geo political zone are send to public firing squad. they should first be stoned by the ordinary people whom they have humiliated before guns shots. they should die a painful death.

We can they offer amnesty to the others to return their loots otherwise they face the same fate.

Once you are able to create FEAR of the POWER OF THE PEOPLE and the law, justice, fairness and eqiuty, the whole country will then respect the laws, the law makers will become law abiding.

YOU WILL THEN HAVE TRUE LEADERSHIP who are in office to serve the people. until then, we are just a talking shop.

What is OBAMA rhetorics?  Are those things he said facts or fictions?

Are your leaders not bleeding you to death. Election rigging, corruption at the Ports. Bribery at the ministries to get contracts. Bad infrastructures, N2020 Naira police.

I think it is people like you that we should beware of, who are being told to beware of the truth.

Ask yourselves, if OBAMA was a Nigeria, will he ever be voted as the President without godfather or name recognition.

NIGERIA is a very very sick country, you can take that to the bank, you will get paid for it, because it is the fact.

PoliticsRe: Obama Direct Message To Yar A'lament And Pdp by vigasimple(op): 6:33pm On Jul 12, 2009
I know that OBAMA message can relate to so many countries in Africa but it is just too direct to Nigeria in particular.

Let us break it down just on the 2 paragraphs above.

1. Leaders enrich themsleves, therefore citizen will not be well not to talk of creating wealth

2. Police corruption- 2020 Naira notes. How do you trust or respect a man in the uniform that will take N20 from the accussed to turn victim into accussed. so whoever steal more can then buy justice.

3. Bribery is the other of the day either at govt offices/ministry or banks before you can get anything done. If you alraedy pay 20% and in some cases more to obtain contract, can you honestly carry out the contract with the remainder of the monies or do it properly.

4. PORT corruption- straight Bode George and Anineh

5. Electoral rigging is not rule of law but rule of tyrannt.

6.There are weak MEN calling themselves strong simply by doing Ritual oaths. We need strong institutions NOT godfathers.

Those things obama raised are not peculiar to nigeria alone my brother, but we all have a lot to learn, though more importantly, obama should have backed up his attacks with more practical solutions, or even went ahead to invite all african leaders to a general summit, instead of coming to play big brother and tongue lash us
I can break down those OBAMA message and apply it direct to individuals in Nigeria govt including YAR A'RULE OF NO LAW . Rememeber  RIBADU's EFCC  and comapare it to WAZIRI's plea bargaining. Alam's loot recorvered by RIBADU has just last week returned to Bayelsa state govt.

Our leaders has no shame that open tongue lashing by someone on the high profile of OBAMA may just be the only thing that may slowly get into their ears.

For instances as OBAMA was speaking in Accra Ghana, Akinyuli is throwing expensive wedding party for her daughter. She is only a minister on a small salary! think about that for a minute. What message are you sending to the ordinary people. Become a minister and have a good life and party for your children's wedding. REBRANDING my foot.

What practical solutions do you want him to back it up with, TO ASK THE USA TO COME AND RUN NIGERIA GOVT? common be real. What he is saying is for the youth to ask our leaders questions and take over our own future into our own hands rather than allow those expired, outdated people to ruin our future.
PoliticsObama Direct Message To Yar A'lament And Pdp by vigasimple(op): 1:09am On Jul 12, 2009
"No country is going to create wealth if its leaders exploit the economy to enrich themselves, or police can be bought off by drug traffickers," Obama said. "No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims 20 per cent off the top, or the head of the Port Authority is corrupt. No person wants to live in a society where the rule of law gives way to the rule of brutality and bribery. That is not democracy, that is tyranny, and now is the time for it to end."

"Africa doesn't need strong men, it needs strong institutions," Obama added
.

The above is the extract of the message by OBAMA to Nigerian govt led by President YAR A'DO NOTHING  or if you prefer  YAR A'CLUELESS. it sums up exactly what our govt do.

WILL THEY LISTEN?  my own bet is that , it is NOT in the gene of Nigerian govt and the PDP in particular who are consolidating power and turning Nigeria into A ONE PARTY STATE.

What do you guy think, will they listen, will they change or simply go on as if nothing matters?

He also heared that they were talking about climate control dateline of 2050, so he is thinking, oh yes, why can't we make our own
VISIONLESS 2020  change to 2050 as that will be more like it, if the G8 are talking of 2050 since that sound more like what he was thinkikng before he went to this summit.

To be frank with you guys,  YAR A'DO NOTHING simply went to the G8 meeting with his cronies for PHOTO OPPORTUNITY  and ESTACODES.

Charity begins at home, what is it that he has achieve domestically which he can tout to those people.

OBAMA has been in government less that 6 months, he has got more done than YAR A'LIAR who has been in office over 2 years. Both of them are late forty , early fifty years in terms of their age. One is only a former senator , and the other is a former CEO of a state for 8 years. You would have thought that the CEO of 8 years will have ACTION. but not to be.

SHAME ON OBJ and NIGERIA as this is what we can produce since all this years.

I am not a cynic but sometimes I know enough about politicians and the political game playing that I suspect the timing of Madam Nafdac daughter's wedding occassion is not an accident. It is propably deliberate

Unless we have members of the Press to asked the Honourable Minister of Information when was the wedding planned. It may be a deliberate attempt to misinform or do a chinesse or Iranian 'Newsblock' of OBAMA visits to Ghana as the government of YAR A'NONSENSE are not happy that OBAMA was not stupid enough like them to avoid coming to Nigeria.

They may also have the leak of OBAMA's message to CORRUPT and TYRANT(according to OBAMA in his speach) government which was exactly what PDP stands for. By us watching and criticising Akinyuli's daughters wedding, we would not talk of OBAMA's message to Tyrant calling themsleves democract who hold election now and then to confuse the people.

Some thought came to my mind as I was reading other posting here.

If Madam Nafdac daughters are marrying foreigner( which we should all accept as their prerogatives)

The question is,

Do they(the children) including Madam Nafdac beleives in Nigeria with all their educations abroad and marrying non-nigerians. How can she go around and ask people to believe in what she does not believe in and rebrand it. She must first persuade her own family to rebrand themsleves, and do everything Nigeria. As they say, CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

On a practical level, how much is the income of Professor Akinyuli and her husband to be able to send their children to colleges in the USA that are costly. Also those ostentasious party confirm insensivitity on the part of the Leadership like sam Egwu did just few weeks ago.

REBRANDING AND REPACKAGING start with personal example and leadership. No better person to do that than, the minister of information and the architect of Rebranding and repackaging.

Don't let us let figure it out, since you bring it up, you can spill the bean.  My take is that Madam Nafdac daughter has marry a foreigner.

I am not surprised if that is the case, nor does it matter whom any member of her family marry.

However, part of the paradox is sending your kids to foreign school and pretending everything is okay here in Nigeria and you can simply rebrand.

NIGERIA has NO BRAND other than CORRUPTION and LACK OF LEADERSHIP so becareful what you want to rebrand. get a good brand first and then start to rebrand it.

In 2009, Nigeria has no stable power or good water, no good health or education system or indeed any useful proper infrastrutures.

The guy YAR A'CLUELESS  is going to attend the fringe meeting of the G-8 and will use that opportunity to achieve many things.

1. Photo opportunity with G8, possibly OBAMA and e-mail that to Attah-Mills of Ghana to say to him, I met OBAMA before you. And he will use the same photo to campaign at the next election

2. He will also use the opportunity to carry with him the highest contigent of any visiting leaders to take as much estacode as possible.

3. He will make a detour to Germany for a quick 'medical refreshment'. Don't forget that Germany is only about an hour flight from Italy.

Why we have an Hausa Ambassador in the UK I don’t understand, the appointment does not reflect the ethnic composition of Nigerians in the UK nor the Ambassadors ability to understand the plights of southern Nigerians since most northerners tend to go back home immediately after their primary assignments whether it is schooling, conferences or other renditions as the case may be. I will be surprise however, if Nigeria has ever appointed a Christian either southerner or northerner as an Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The same argument can also be said of Abuja no southerner has been appointed as the Minister of the FCT in this new dispensation.
The above is a clear example of the Northern Politician being very shrewed and cunny. Infact an average Northerner will NEVER ACCEPT a non Northerner to ever become an Ambassador to Saudi Arabi. The northern elders play politics and control their people whether rightly or wrongly, they co-operate.

Northerners in Nigeria may not hustle abroad for several reasons, majority are not educated , and don't speak English, and cultural wise, they rather go to a muslim dominated country for pilgrimage etc like going to Saudi Arabia.

THEY DON'T GO TO APPLY FOR VISA IN THE FIRST PLACE, WHY WOULD THEY GO AND HURSTLE WHEN THERE IS ALLOCATION TO BE SHARED FROM OIL MONEY FROM THE 'STUPID' PEOPLE OF THE SOUTH

Speaking with reporters on the incident, 'Major' Anayo Chukwunonso, who claimed to be a leader of the MASSOB militia, said the organisation was unhappy with Governor Obi for allegedly stopping the monthly payment made to them by previous governments in the state.

However, he added that since Obi had refused to work with MASSOB, "others who are sympathetic to our cause are enjoying our services."

He queried why Obi would not pay MASSOB militia when his colleagues allegedly still do.

Chukwunonso also accused Obi of giving orders to the police to kill some Biafrans under the guise of restoring sanity to the state.

However, rumours have it that these banned associations are currently regrouping in Anambra State, preparatory to the 2010 governorship election.

I hear the rumours that OBAMA is afraid of

1. PHNC/NEPA having power outage during his press conferences, and Generator refuses to work automatically because there is no diesel to power it. The man doesn't want to be embarrassed by Republican party mocking him as 'PRINCE OF DARKNESS' from Nigeria.

2. He doesn't want to be In ABUJA when MEND start to bomb the place.

3. This is the most feared of him visting, that your President, YAR A'FAILURE health may just fail, and the guy may die and the whole world will start blaming US President visits for being too gruelsome on a Self denial 'leader', and that they will claim that the CIA is working for AC and ANPP to overthrow a DO NOTHING GOVERNMENT.

4. That OBAMA may stuck on federal roads from the Airport whilst visting lagos with a lot of gully, and may ask his host to pay for the repair of the US cars, which our President may use Health budget to pay for such.

As they say, good riddance to bad rubbish. If you are not a Nigerian, and you are just a bystander or adviser to OBAMA , will you ever give it a second thought in advising a thoughtful man to visit a thoughtless, visonless 'set of leaders'- so that OBAMA can get 'infected' with their foolishness.

PoliticsRe: We Were Offered Bribes To Rig Elections - Iwu by vigasimple(m): 1:34pm On Jul 06, 2009
benlay:
The chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, opened up on the ills of the electoral process in Nigeria and excessive use of money by politicians, declaring that he and the staff of the commission were offered bribes during elections, especially during the recently concluded Ekiti State governorship rerun.
However, Professor Iwu, who was speaking at a recent dialogue session in Enugu, Enugu State, where civil servants, under the auspices of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), fully engaged and questioned him on his handling of elections in the country, added that the bribes were rejected.

Describing such offers as foolish, the INEC chairman, said he opened up on the critical issues affecting the electoral process in the country, because he was in his constituency.

“I am talking to you this way, because this is my constituency,” Iwu told the large gathering of Nigerian workers, who were participating in their 9th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference at the Universal Hotel, Enugu.

He likened such offers to a military coup d’état, saying that, if a military man was consulted to participate in a coup and he refused, he would become a dead person and if he agreed, the end result could also be death.

As a primary solution to this problem, he said the massive and excessive use of money in the polity should be addressed with a view to curbing it, as the nation tried to reform its electoral laws. He warned it was very crucial that the commission must be fully involved in the reform process.

Professor Iwu, who also spoke on the Ekiti governorship rerun said: “We were being taunted by one foolish offer or the other. And, as they said, the biggest thing that happens in this country is that, if this kind of offer is made to you, it is like being part of a military coup. If you say no, you are dead; [If] you participate, you may die, but in this particular case, people will come to you and you tell them politely, no.

“I was not being arrogant. I have lived with smaller salary in my life. I lived when we were not paid and , at my level, when I have my grandchildren (they are still alive and I can see them), I don’t have reason to build any other house. I have three houses, which I can boldly say, because I earned the money.

“So, what do I need another house for? What do I need your money for that will make me not to be able to accept a very important duty that my country, out of 140 million people, had asked me to do? And if you explain this to the person quietly, his conclusion is that, since you don’t take money from him, you must have taken from his opponents. And from that moment, they will harass you and harass you.

“So, the issue of excessive use of money in Nigerian politics is very important. We should be able to address it. Massive and excessive use of money has to be stopped. We should be able to have a situation where you know that certain things are beyond their money, that there are certain things they cannot buy, that there are certain people they cannot buy.”

He stated that their only yardstick at INEC was that “if I am morally convinced that the consent of the people, the will of the Nigerian people, had been determined, whether the man who lost is happy or not is immaterial. The important thing is that we are able to determine the will of Nigerian people.”
Who 'are' the people who offer them monies? to do what? which party do they belong? or are they faceless individual that did not belong to any party. Did INEC report the matter to the police? what about the N250 million that said to have been offered, maybe received by your staff at the Ekiti re-run election?

YAR A'CLUELESS greatest achievement to date is trying to figure out what is the state of play in Nigeria.

Although YAR A'DO NOTHING is an example of complete failure of LEADERSHIP but it also expose the joke called Nigeria. other than the slogan 7 POINTLESS AGENDA, VISIONLESS 2020 , REBRANDING and REPACKAGING, i just get the impression that the challenge the country is facing is way beyond a lot of our leaders.

I hear that the former Finance Minister, Usman was in London last week and he talks very impressively about what the government is looking to do.

The press guy and the Nigeria community talking to him never asked him, that in layman terms what do you intend to achieve, when, how, and where the money will come from.

I honestly believe that OBJ just put the YAR A'LIAR there for his own benefits. One of such benefit is to say to Nigerians, what did i not tell you, if you have allowed me 3rd term then things will have been better. etc.

One of the major problem of our potentialy great country is CORRUPTION. How to get rid of Corruption is bigger than any attempt to do anything positive in the country.

But with friends like IBORI, AODAOONKA and WAZIRI, this regime will not be able or have the moral authority to fight corruption, and corruption will swallow most good things that anyone may have planned.

YES,

If we have RAWLING DOSAGE with naija dimension.

Let me explain. we have 6 geo political zone, and you can find good solid 6 high class corrupt public official, executives, legislature, and may be very deep corrupt ordinary people.

Get at least 6 in each geo political zone, and kill them in a brutal way, dump them symbolically in a gully runnuing on benin- ore road and all sort failed infrastructured, like kill one half way, take hime to the hospital without drugs and video him/her to see what happens to unequiped hospital.

Then ask the others to come forward with the list of their loot within say 7-14 days and obtain amnesty, otherwise the death penalty restart again.

ONLY THE MILITARY CAN DO THIS, and only the type of NZEOGWU/IDIAGBON can honestly carried that out, there is also the possiblity of tribalism by some officers who would do exactly as some did during Nzeogwu coup. They will simply refused to carry out orders on 'their own', and what will follow is allegation of ethnic killings.

There is a major difference between the two.  YAR A'CLUELESS is not doing anything, he may be replaced by a candidate from South East for the 2011 'selection'

If it is the 2015 'selection' that the PDP have in mind, I am sceptical that they are just using the announcement to get the support of the South East for 2011 'selection' which they will the renedge come 2015. NPN did this in the 1983 election. it is a textbook ploy.

In any evet, those are just the internal working arrangements of the PDP. What happens if another party somehow wins the election or what happens if PDP lose the next election, when does it come to the turn of the South east.

Good governance and leadership is what we need whether it is North, West, South , East or whatever.

Sam Milla:
The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has announced the death of Senator Martins Yellowe, an incident he described as a great loss to the polity and medical profession. Yellowe, a Professor of Psychiatric medicine died on Thursday at the National Hospital, Abuja after a brief illness. Mark in a condolence message to the government and people of Rivers State urged the family to take solace in the fact that Yellowe lived an eventful and accomplished life. Mark said: "As a consummate politician, he was outstanding, he also excelled in his medical profession. His contributions to the political development of Nigeria will remain evergreen. During his tenure in the Senate between 1999 and 2007, it is on record that Yellowe sponsored the highest number of bills. We shall surely miss him. The Senate on its part will continue to tread the path of honour, integrity and service to the people, which late Yellowe stood for." He called on the government of Rivers State to immortalise the former senator.

I don't know this senator, but may his soul rest in perfect peace. May the good Lord forgive all his iniquities.

However, this is the kind of Senator other memeber of NASS, Executive needs, a PSCYCHATRIC DOCTOR to treat their mental illness. what a loss.

I hope other mental doctors can come forward as this DO NOTHING GOVERNMENT needs them badly.
PoliticsRe: Phcn Blames Failure On Corruption by vigasimple(m): 12:28pm On Jul 02, 2009
On the issue of corruption relating to power/electricity

CORRUPTION IS EVERYWHERE

1. LEADERSHIP - from President to House member, they even steal monies from probe.

2. PHCN - they steal equipment, defraud the organisation, bill customers for powers they never use, they don't supply power

3. FOLLOWERS /ORDINARY PEOPLE/CONSUMERS - consumer's sometimes don't like to pay bills, tap electricity or illegal connection

I hope you guys can see the scale of the problem. Nothwithstanding, it is the business of the leadership to press reset button for a fresh and honest beginnings. unfortunately they are too busy distributing money via REBRANDING AND REPACKAGING. It is our leaders who need to be rebranded first, then the followers can be repackaged

' IF YOU PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG IT IS STILL A PIG'

Corruption start and end with our leaders, they need to demonstrate good and credible examples.

What is really wrong?
It is now two years and we have not seen any tangible stuff from Yaradua's government
I hope you remember the guy's name  YAR A'CLUELESS .

In my own opinion, it is actually a crime to expect anything from a leader of
A DO NOTHING PARTY other than sharing monies in ABUJA and giving a dishonest Amnesty to the Niger Deltans when, they the government are the one's who are suppossed to be granted amnesty for their various crimes, at least fraud and embezzelment of public funds needed Amnesty from Nigerians.

But then when you have YAR A'LIAR and IBORI, they don't actually give a damn. PDP have been in office for 10 years, it is all hot air, unfortunately all the other parties are useless as well.

I thought this was old news about 2 years ago. There is also another sister Gbemisola. They are wanted to contest for political office leveraging their father's name in Kwara state.

I don't know this family very well or their contribution to kwara state and it's political development BUT SURELY, THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY FAMILY in kwara state , and for the growth and development of democracy in that state. Other people should try for offices. The SARAKI'S should be overlooked for offices in Kwara state or they should rename the state SARAKI and the life governor to be anybody with Saraki last name
PoliticsRe: Oath-taking Lawmaker Apologies by vigasimple(m): 1:23am On Jul 01, 2009
most, and vast majority of our politicians don't worship or serve a true GOD as in christianity or moslem.

THEY ARE GLORIFIED RITUALIST GOING TO CHURCH OR MOSQUE FOR A COVER UP.

The main problem this throws up is what I have being saying all the time, LEADERSHIP.

When our suppossed 'leaders' are into rituals, what would they or are able to say, as in a moral authority or even legal challenge to students at the Universities accros this country who are into cult SINCE THEIR FATHER'S THE POLITCIANS IS A RITUALIST WHO GOT HIS TRAINING AS CULTIST FROM THE CAMPUSES.

people who arent sango worshippers nko? Which oath will they take?

say Ogun amadioha or yemoja worshippers. or any of the other 10 million deities in Nigeria.

The oaths all the politicians you're referring to have been taking- have they affected corruption in any way? huh

btw, vigasimple- sango isnt the god of iron.

and the oaths arent about serving the people- they're to show your loyalty to your godfather.
1. It is true that SANGO is not the god of iron(that is ogun) but you also swear by iron if swearing under the Sango oath. I prefer Thunder to strike those thieves to death

SANGO is th god of thunder, maybe they should take both oath to die of iron and thunder at the same time.

2. The oath the constitution will require them to take is against stealing public money(as in Nigeria)

3. I just used sango as an example, they can take other similar oaths which administer instant judgement. Since those politicians believe in the higher potency of such oath , and that is why they consider taking it in the first place.

The guy Wale Alausa is quoting the quran when starting his press conference as if he believe in those things. God is an extraordinarily patient GOD.
