And you believe you can achieve that with injustice. I can tell you right from your definition it is not Obama that is unrealistic. There would never be peace with injustice.
And how do you define injustice?
PoliticsRe: Some Sensible Ideas On How To Solve The Boko Haram Problem by violent(m): 9:43pm On May 31, 2011
Bullshyt!

effectively the article is suggesting that all those who killed hundreds of others in an unprovoked attack should be pardoned, compensated, and be allowed to roam freely like they did nothing wrong?  bullyshyt!

I wonder if the original writer of the article would have felt differently if he had lost a twin, father, daughter, wife, not only in the hands of animals but in such a gruelsome manner such that their skulls was flipped open, or their guts wrenched out with an axe!

Bullshyt!. . .People really ought to stop talking if they will eventually suggest the worst form of crap!

If an average Nigerian slaps another, it's called assault and might be locked up for several months, now a group of animals killed thousands of kids and adults alike and some low IQed writer feels the government should pardon them for the sake of peace?  bullshyt!. . .how do we know they wont do it again?

Okay, enough of my rant. . .dammit!

Here's my recommended solution, the government should infiltrate the northern surbubs with hundreds of well trained intelligent undercover Police officers, these officers are to mingle freely to covertly investigate  the Boko Haram ring.  Extremist found guilty should be silently killed one by one and buried in unknown graves. . . . . .

Fashola is a good man and has the interest of Lagosians at heart.Nigeria has been doing genuine business with asia and nigeria has benefited from such partnership but past history has taught us that we can never benefit anything from the Americans.More power to Fashola if the americans are really going to get involved in real business but like i have said before past history has shown that most projects initiated by americans in africa are mostly shoddy and what is more funny is that many african leaders pay billions of dollars or euros for such shoddy projects.I just hope the americans dont act true to type.
I obviously missed those lessons taught by History.

could you give examples of times where History has taught us that we can never benefit anything from Americans?

Could you give examples of where a project executed by American companies went shoddy?
PoliticsRe: Us Government To Partner With Lagos by violent(m): 1:21pm On May 30, 2011
@tom28:

Yes, Americans can be monsters, who can't?  but, how exactly does your picture explain a US partnership with Lagos?

The Nigerian Police/SSS metes out worse tortures, should that mean we can't establish partnership with other countries?

I love arguments with sound, logical and reasonable people, could you construct the quality of your arguments to reflect such values?
PoliticsRe: Us Government To Partner With Lagos by violent(m): 1:16pm On May 30, 2011
tom28:
Well the nigerians defending americans in here would have us believe that americans want to partner with lagos because they love we nigerians so much.Such childlish naivity makes me want to laugh.
For fck's  sake, it's called partnership!!!!!!, which means they will be expecting something in return.

Lagos state has been issuing out projects worth billions of dollars to Chinese companies, if Americans say they want to partner with Lagos, a common 2 plus 2 would mean they are looking to tap into the current growth in infrastructural projects going on in Lagos and which would probably extend into the rest of south west with AC's domination.

Imagine if a rail project extending from Lagos to Oyo to Ogun to Osun to Ondo. . . .the Americans would probably know that such a massive project would be issued out to foreign companies and why can't they tap into the opportunities while it is still ripe?
what would that mean for Lagos?  Cheap finance!!! It probably would mean a US bank would be acting as a front financier in the project and given that interest rate are at a 300 year low, Fashola could tap into that opportunity to obtain cheap loans.

Now that's an hypothetical scenario, wasn't there a plan by the Lagos state government to improve power generation by up to 140 mw?  If this would be handled by a foreign company, why can't the American's start bidding for the project ASAPhuh

Think outside the box!!!!!  chei!!!

Nigerians go abroad for a better life and not because such host countries are friends to our country Nigeria. There are nigerians in China,Saudi Arabia,Philipines,Malaysia and other countries so are you saying that nigerian migrants go to these countries because they are our friends?
Think with your head and understand that ppl travel out for greener pastures when their own country failed them or they travel out to know more about the world. As far as Nigeria goes its an underdeveloped and weak country that falls easy prey to powerful western nations.America is not our friend but rather we are their puppets and they are our puppet masters. There is no friendship b/w a slave(nigeria) and a master(USA)
I think you are a very brilliant person, the way you analyze puts you in the top 90th percentile of the smartest people ever.

"America is not our friend because we are their puppets". . . .how come i never thought of that!, . see?. .  one of those reasons why we come to NL, to learn from  brilliant minds as yours.

PPl pls americans are not our friends. They have proved throughout the decades that they are enemies to Africa.Nigeria can be great but its not a must that its going to be through america"s help.America is like the devil. They come to steal, kill and plunder the fat of the land.If america is africa"s friend then how come they were the number one supporter of apartheid in south africa.
America is not our friend and we called the FBI's to investigate a Bomb attack.

America is not our friend, yet if a bigger fish, let's say Germany or Iran bullies us, we are likely to be counting on Obama's support than any other thing in the world.

America is not our friend, yet they've remained our primary trade partners for decades.

America is not our friend and our countrymen do all sorts of unimaginable things to obtain a visa or green card.

America is not our friend, yet, you can't point to one singular reason why they must be Nigeria's enemy!

again, clearly irrational thoughts from hypocritical fellows who will always say one thing and do another.

What has Nigeria done/contributed to the entire worldhuh?
PoliticsRe: Us Government To Partner With Lagos by violent(m): 12:21pm On May 30, 2011
Russia, till date, collects billions in dollars from America in economic aids, if going by many people's way/manner of thinking here, the Kremlin ought to be a white house pent house and Dmitry Medvedev ought to be an Obama lap dog!

It matters to the United States whether Russia is a market economy or a command economy. It matters to the United States if Russia is a democracy or an authoritarian regime. It matters to the United States whether Russia seeks to integrate with the Western community of states, or instead seeks to isolate itself from the international community of states.

If Russia has a democratic polity and a market economy, then the US and Russia are less likely to be adversaries and more likely to have relations of mutual benefit. The converse is also true. If Russia does not manage to consolidate democracy or a market economy, but regresses into some other form of political and economic organization, we are likely to have a much more adversarial relationship. Even if Russia is weak, an authoritarian or, even worse, a fascist Russia can do real damage to American national security interests.
Even a weak Russia can veto UN resolutions on Kosovo. Even a weak Russian can send nuclear weapons to Iraq. Even a weak Russia can threaten the Baltic states.

Moral of my story?

The US is not always coming to steal your oil or exploit your rich resources. . .think outside the box and stop making assumptions without knowing the full details of the proposed partnership.

Is it also ironical that although more than half of the world sees the US as a monster of some sort, the country continues to receive the highest number of visa applications globally. . . .talk about hypocritical beings who always say one thing and do another, smh!
Foreign AffairsRe: "obama Naive, No Going Back To 1967" Netanyahu by violent(m): 9:55am On May 30, 2011
Obama is being naive and extremely fóolish by suggesting that Israel should turn the clock back into time amid the painful sacrifices made. . .bullshyt!!!

The surrounding countries have stated their intention to eliminate the state of Isreal. In 1967 they launch a premeditated & unprovoked attack by multiple countries on multiple fronts against Isreal to try & wipe them out. Isreal kicks their asses and then keeps much of the land they secured BECAUSE OF THE UPROVOKED ATTACK by these other countires. Now they say thats not fair. KMA. Isreal should have continued the war and taken over the whole region - maybe the could do somthing beside breed dictators and terrorists.

What's funny is, in 1948, the Israelis were willing to live within the boundaries set up by the United Nations -, so you'd think everybody would've been happy with the arrangement -- but the Arab countries surrounding the old Mandate weren't, and immediately fell in upon Israel in 1948, shortly after it declared itself a sovereign nation (Harry Truman, God bless him, almost immediately declared that the U.S. recognized Israel as a sovereign state).

That first war of annihilation, which backfired badly on those Arabs and their Arab Legion, led to the famous saying "Ein breira," or "there is no alternative." That means the Israelis would love to just live in peace, but if given no other choice, which the Arabs almost have never given them, they'll fight.

I'm confused, as well, by what part of "Never Again," the Left just refuses to understand? Netanyahu said it again in his speech to the Congress the other day, reinforcing it even more by saying that "When we say never again, we really mean NEVER AGAIN."

That should tell everybody the lengths to which Israel will go to prevent another Jewish Holocaust. I can't say that I'm not sympathetic with his observation, that's for sure. And all the Palestinians have to do is accept a Jewish state called Israel and their problems would immediately be solved.
Shows the levl of operations of our security apparatus!

Last night, over 90,000 loving football fans were gathered inside WEMBLEY for one of the best Champions league finals of all time yet MI5,Met-police did not jam networks or scatter 'beams' like maddness!

Yet security for the match was top notch. Same can be said for the wedding that took place in london barely 3 weeks ago.

If network jamming and 'beam' scattering was a top-end solution to bombings, the ISAF would have been using 'D-M' units all over Afghanistan and Waziristan!
I think your reasoning is terribly flawed!. .

On the day of the London bombings, city of London police ordered O2 to turn off all networks within 2 kilometers radius around Aldgate to prevent further attacks, more than a million phone calls were blocked.

If this same procedure was conducted during the 50th anniversary, perhaps some kids might still have their fathers, discomfort is a very little price to pay where lives can be saved.

Be reasonable son!
